"With a fireplace in every room and a patio or terrace off most of them, you may be tempted to stay inside for the duration of your stay. Don't fall into that trap: Head on out and explore St. Helena, make the most of the charming downtown and incredible vineyards of the appellation, and then come back to your room, pop the cork from one of the too-many bottles you'll likely buy during your day of tasting, and sink into an in-room spa treatment. Then, and only then, are you allowed to stay put." - Brian Freedman

The location is a good jumping off place to explore Napa. The Inn has beautiful grounds with nice sitting areas and a nice pool and hot tub. The rooms are OK, but the cleanliness was not so great. The hallway leading to our room was dirty, and I found a plastic cup on the floor by the bed from the previous guest. The staff let us know they only clean the rooms every two days of each stay. We were constantly having to bother the front desk staff for towels, ice, lotion, etc. The shampoo and conditioner dispensers were ridiculously hard to operate in the shower, and one was broken when we arrived. We told the front desk person, but it was never repaired the entire week we stayed. The front desk staff were mostly courteous, though it appeared the Inn was understaffed. The free breakfast was usually very good.

My husband and I came here for a little getaway and we had a wonderful time. The scenery was beautiful, breakfast was delicious, and the staff was friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean. We will definitely return for another relaxing getaway.

We had an exceptional 1 night stay at the Wine Country Inn & Cottages for my birthday. We walked in to a warm reception and made our way up to our room only to discover we'd been upgraded! They also left us some surprises, including a half bottle of wine and some delicious local chocolates. It truly made my birthday extra special and I'm so grateful. The upgraded room with an enclosed patio was SO romantic - we really enjoyed reading out there with a cup of coffee in our robes the next morning, looking out over the valley and the vines. The shower was also excellent - nice height for my 6'2" husband and great water pressure. Breakfast in the morning was a fabulous touch as well - spinach quiche, sausage and bacon, pastries, fresh fruit, and hot coffee. We would come back here again in a heartbeat, and would love to do so in the summertime to take advantage of the pool.

The cleanliness in the rooms is not up to the mark. Bedding had a bunch of hair when we checked in and didn’t feel clean. Although the staff was prompt in replacing the sheets, but it shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

Google
We had a lovely stay here. The staff was so kind and thoughtful, and the complimentary breakfast was so delicious. It was held in the lobby, which was so cozy and immediately felt like home. The views were spectacular, and we had a cute little patio area to enjoy them from. We were right near some amazing winery’s in St. Helena. We will absolutely be back!

Google
Beautiful property with spacious, well appointed rooms and big modern bathroom. The highlight of the room is the private balcony facing the vineyards and mountains. So relaxing to enjoy a glass of wine out there. Breakfast was very good and can be delivered to your room to enjoy on the wonderful balcony. Very dog friendly property although for a fee. Beautiful gardens around property and quiet relaxing pool area to enjoy. Staff was friendly and helpful and our stay overall was wonderful. Only negative. Too pricey to stay regularly.

My husband and I stayed in one of the Vineyard view cottages. The cottage was beautiful with lots of space and a big bathroom. Our patio overlooked a beautiful vineyard and felt very private. It also had a retractable awning which was great. The grounds had beautiful flowers as well. They delivered a pre-selected breakfast to our door each morning which had generous portions. They were very prompt when we reported issues with our air-conditioning. We did have to carry our bags down/up several flights of steps since there was no other access to our cottage. This wasn't a big deal for us, but could be problematic for others. We enjoyed our stay!

Google
Yummy breakfast eggs, 🥓 bacon, and delicious fresh squeezed orange juice. Beautiful walk ways and balconies that over look the Vinyards. Beautiful quiet environment overall. Nice pool and jacuzzi, although the pool side bathrooms were locked. Also the jacuzzi had jets in the floor that worked, but only two back height jets worked. They don't answer the phone at the front desk, after hours. The room was nice, the bedding was comfortable and the room was cozy. TV had HD warriors game. Shower had good water pressure. They use satellite TV.

Yelp
This place is stupid cute! We are talking Like out of a movie cute, this is what one expects a hotel should be when in wine country! flowers blooming all around! A patio that overlooks a vineyard. The room was so clean and had one of the biggest showers I have ever laid eyes on. The complimentary breakfast is the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating offered by a hotel! The coffee is also some of the best I've ever had at a hotel! The coffee was called halfway to heaven and by golly if that wasn't the truth! I would absolutely come back:)

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. Booked thinking it would be nice based on photos, but it was nothing as photographed. We have stayed in a few places and this was disappointing. Nothing was in the room upon arrival, usually in nice inns and hotels there's always a little set up when you arrive. We arrived to a muggy room. We came back to our room not serviced and when calling they said you have to schedule it and they wouldn't come. I feel like this is something reception should probably tell guests when checking in. The room was just ok, seemed a bit old. And whenever the door was closed the room got so muggy it would fog the windows, even when we weren't in the room. We'd have to air it out constantly. The chargers also don't work for the cars. We left our car charging overnight and came back to it only charged a few % more. Which caused major issues.

Yelp
Beautiful property. But first impressions with the staff was pretty cold. They're hidden in the back, and when you find them they seem uncomfortable in their role. There was no "friendly & attentive staff giving genuine service" on this day. They did the basics to check you in- and you're on your own. There was no extra conversation, no if you need anything let us know, if you need help with restaurants we'd be glad to help etc. No glass of wine as a welcome.... Our room was spacious,.... A very nice 1/2 bottle of wine as a gift- room was fine. Bathroom is large, counter space is non- existent, so be prepared girls....... If you book a vineyard view- beware that you may be looking at the rooftops of the cottages, before you look way out there for the vineyard like what we got. Maybe ask for a 2nd Flr. room. Breakfast was ; "There it is... "- no interaction from ANYONE from the Inn the whole time we were there. No "how are you this morning, welcome to breakfast, have a nice day, thank you for staying with us ". I'm Just not use to a place in the valley being so uninterested in its customers. Usually our stays at other places are more customer forward. Disappointed.... considering the price.

Yelp
I highly recommend this inn. I had a wonderful experience. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. Everything in the room was functional. I had a view of the vineyard and the mountain. Thank you.

Lynn F.

Yelp
Everything was good we had a nice breakfast, clean room and very spacious, the view was very nice. It is out in the vineyards and nice view of the hills in the distance. Just outside of Saint Helena so if you have wine tasting in mind it is right there

Yelp
My partner and I booked a weekend stay at this hotel. We got a king room with a vineyard view. The room was spacious and the views of the vineyard were gorgeous. We were initially quite satisfied with the place overall, until later at night when we were in bed and noticed blood stains on the sheets. It wasn't just one or two drops--there were several, in different spots throughout the bed as well as the blanket. It seems that housekeeping is not doing a good job of cleaning the sheets each night. The poor housekeeping is especially concerning amidst the pandemic. It's concerning enough that blood is on the sheets and not being cleaned, and it's a whole other concern that housekeeping didn't even notice the stained sheets. We called the front desk to request new sheets and blankets, but they were only able to provide us with a very thin sheet, so despite booking a deluxe king room, we had to sleep without comfy sheets and blankets. There are several other gorgeous boutique hotels in the Napa area. Book another place that takes cleanliness more seriously.

Annie M.

Yelp
We booked her for our first year wedding anniversary hoping for a wine get away and this exceeded our expectations! Nicole at the front desk made our whole experience easy and memorable from start to finish. I threw a million questions and accommodations at her and she exceeded every request! My recommendation would be to upgrade to the cottage (it's worth it!) Or request a top floor. The location makes this place worthwhile. You are in the middle of 3 wineries overlooking duckhorn vineyards, quick 5 minute drive from there. Literally, their vines are growing in between cottages. The breakfast buffet was cute and gets the job done, the staff is so friendly it makes the ambiance feel like a romantic quiet getaway! Thank you Nicole for everything! We'll be back next year!

Sara G.

Yelp
Long story short: do NOT book this hotel unless you booked a cottage or top floor hotel room. You have been warned! The room was spacious, renovated, and well-maintained. The pool and grounds were quaint and cute. The complimentary cookies and drinks were a nice touch. This should have been the backdrop to a perfect weekend getaway. BUT there is zero sound attenuation between any of the rooms. We stayed in a hotel room on the second floor, with one floor above us. I am not exaggerating when I say that I could hear EVERY SINGLE THING in the room above me. It was difficult to enjoy the weekend without getting any sleep. Additionally, I called the front desk about the noise, but there was no improvement / change. There were also earplugs in the bedside tables, which indicate the noise complaints are ongoing. At $800/night, I expected more. Definitely request a top floor room or upgrade to a cottage.

Yelp
Really wish I could give this inn a better review but there was good and bad. GOOD -room views were very beautiful overlooking the vineyards (but I did pay extra for that). -rooms are spacious but I feel lack of storage except for a closet. -parking was easy -beds comfortable -pool area is nice and serene and the hot tub was also a nice touch NOT SO GOOD -no bell luggage service. At the price you are paying per night and the amount of stairs this is absurd. -the breakfast food was terrible. There was a veggie frittata that was more like mush. Sausages were dry and funny tasting. We ended up eating elsewhere -we were on an upper floor room but could still hear everything that went on outside and next to us. -my husband got pretty sick while we were there. Upon checkout we had a flat tire in our rental. I asked the girl at the desk if there was anyone that could help or if she new were I could call? We didn't have time to wait for roadside assistance or we round miss our flight. Absolutely no help. Pretty much didn't care. There is an older gentleman that works there and he and the front desk lady stood at the door watching my husband and even said "I didn't know anyone changed tires anymore". I guess kindness amongst people is truly gone. I even asked the older gentleman if he could maybe give me husband a hand and of course he asked as we were putting the lug nuts on the spare. Customer service is just not good here. Very aloof at best. Spend your money elsewhere.

Yelp
We stayed in the top floor corner room (room 9). It was gorgeous with a beautiful view of the vineyards. I was blown away. Staying at this hotel was one of my favorite parts of our Napa trip! And the breakfast buffet in the morning was so delicious. I will agree with the other reviews that the floors/ceilings are not very sound proof so you can hear the guests in the adjacent rooms. This didn't really bother me though I think probably because most of the other guests staying there maintained a normal sound level and also we were on the top floor. I noticed that the hotel provided ear plugs in the night stands so seems like a long-standing issue. The room and linens were very clean. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel during the off-season and make sure to verify that you get a top floor.

Yelp
I can't say enough great things about this hotel. It felt like a bed and breakfast with high scale hotel feels. The breakfast was great every morning always had different kind of eggs and it was always amazing! The staff was great. We actually got a free upgrade to one of the cottages and the AC didn't work and they fix it that night. Just an FYI we didn't know it wasn't working till like 8pm and they fixed it that night! It was amazing service. Everyone was nice and helpful. I have to say I will pay extra for the cottage next time because it was so worth it! They always have deals on their website and they have these vouchers they are also a great deal. If you are staying in the Napa area stay here you will not regret it at all.

Yelp
We love this place as a quiet and soothing getaway in northern Napa. The property borders vineyards and is painstakingly landscaped to simultaneously attract the eye and offer aroma therapy. Staff are the nicest - we feel like we are at home here. There are rooms in the main building, and outbuilding offering garden views, or vineyard views, as well as cottages just off the vineyard. Some have small balconies to allow for morning coffee (chilly starts in the valley) or a sunset with a glass of wine. Most rooms have been renovated to combine modern luxury with warm woods and neutral colors - soon all will be done. Breakfast - a feast from fruits and breads through eggs, meats, cheeses and waffles to order can be enjoyed inside the dining area or at one of three patio tables. Unlimited coffee, tea and flavored waters are available 24/7 in the dining area. The property sports a beautiful pool with two large, clean bathrooms, equipped with full size showers. The pool and baths are fully ADA compliant with lifts, seats and rails. Towels and refrigerated water are provided. It's mostly quiet and serene but can get noisy when guests forget there are others present - or decide a drinking party at the pool is a great idea. Rooms are on the pricey side, but it's Napa. We have stayed three times and would most certainly make this our home base again.

Yelp
We stayed here 4 nights over an extended Easter weekend. Check in was easy. They gave us a room on the first floor of the Inn. On the good side, it was nice to have a walkout to the patio outside our room. On the not-so good side, we heard every step from the occupants in the room upstairs. The pool area is nice, we used the hot tub every night. The location is convenient to all the vineyards in the vicinity. On our last morning there, they re-opened their breakfast buffet (after closing it two years ago). Overall, we really enjoyed the stay!

Yelp
We had an excellent stay in cottage #29. The view was beautiful as it overlooked the vineyard. The wall that faced the vineyard had a viewing area with windows so you could lay in bed and look outside and see the vineyard and the sunrises over the mountain from the bed were definitely nice. The privacy was perfect as none of the walls to the cottage were conjoining with other cottages. Even the privacy on the outdoor patio was great as it had high walls that led to a fence so you couldn't walk to the back patio from the outside. The set up of the room was incredible with the switch controlled gas fireplace, the bed seeming like it was on a pedestal (you had to walk up three steps) and the huge jacuzzi hot tub. The switch controlled retractable awning and switch controlled fountain were really nice touches to make the outside porch that much more enjoyable. The rose petals, candy and bubbly were all in the room before our arrival as promised. It was a late Valentine's Day surprise and my girlfriend was so impressed and happy. The complementary bottle of wine from Duck Horn Winery was also u expected but much appreciated. We enjoyed walking the beautifully maintained grounds and the amazing complementary breakfast. All the staff members we encountered were really polite and informative. The location was not far from all the other wineries. I researched a lot of nice places (four seasons was one) before choosing to stay here and we are so glad for our decision. The price was way more reasonable but did not lack anything. Parking was easy in and easy out. They also had a huge heated pool and jacuzzi. Our next trip back to Napa we already agreed that we will stay here again. Easy 10/10 no question!

Yelp
I can't believe I am leaving this review. To say that I'm disappointed is a gross understatement. We have been coming to the valley twice a year for several years now. We usually stay in the bigger hotels in Yountville, but have tried airbnd, bed and breakfast etc all over the valley. We took a chance on wine country inn as the pictures looked beautiful and it was in a great location. We get a call before check in that there are rolling blackouts and they didn't expect the power back on until later the next day. We said we didn't mind and checked in that day. The area is stunningly beautiful and tucked away. I was so happy when we got to our room. It was clean, simple and updated. The view was to die for. I could sit on the balcony and look at the gorgeous view. This is what these trips are all about for me. The next morning we still didn't have power. Everything was closed downtown so we opted for the continental breakfast they had laid out. Understandably, the coffee wasn't hot and there were no egg items. The staff were like fish out of water and all congregated in their kitchen area. They weren't really helping us at all, which didn't make sense. Small things like asking if we need water, silverware or bussing tables would have been nice. But I digress. We left for our tasting day and get a call in the middle of the afternoon that we needed to move out the next day. They gave us possibilities on where we could stay. I told them that we didn't need any maid service or new towels, and that we didn't mind having colder showers, but he said that wasn't an option to stay. He was very nice about it and it sounded like his hands were tied. He said their resources would be tapped out, which I didn't understand. I can only guess that they didn't want to pay any staff to stay at the hotel, or maybe an issue with water, but don't understand that logic either. We didn't want to go. We proceeded to then call over ten places and everyone was booked. We finally got in at the harvest inn, who didn't have power either but gladly took us in. Nothing against the harvest inn (see review) but we are extremely disappointed. This isn't the place we searched for and booked. I am not sure how the business owner didn't call us and apologize. I don't know why they didn't let us stay when all we needed was a bed. I am sure this has been very difficult for all businesses in this area but the way it was handled was very poor. I hope they have a contingency plan in the future, especially for people like us that really wanted to stay. In the least, they should have taken the time to book these other rooms so that we didn't have the inconvenience of having to search. The employee tried his best with what he was given. That's not on him, that's on the people above him. I thought I had found my forever spot here in Napa. Sadly, I was wrong. Just hope I won't have to call to get my refund. And the best part, they got their power back the next day and they answered the phone like nothing happened. That $100 off coupon for a future stay is funny. If I weren't so annoyed, I'd think it was a practical joke.

Yelp
Hot breakfast buffet and staff would be 5 stars . My main gripe is being able to hear every cough; yawn, footstep, etc from anyone above you . I read this in a review and requested a diff room type but there were no other options. I was hoping the review wasn't accurate but at 6am each morning I definitely felt the pain of the other reviewer . I booked during a big event weekend so the room was $970/nt. I came for work and found no desk / table in the room or dresser to unpack my luggage . For $950 I would expect basic room amenities like dresser / desk. The pool area was relaxing and felt private .. If only the rooms were quieter this place would be a dream

Serra K.

Yelp
Worst hotel ever stayed. The housekeeping never cleaned our rooms although promised. Spiderwebs all over. Rudest staff. Charged us for an extra night for checking our a little late. Stay away. Alila hotel is an amazing choice.

Yelp
We arrived here on December 24th afternoon. We usually plan to take a trip for Christmas and this year it was going to be the infamous Napa Valley, CA. Since we were ill prepared for this years Christmas, we had a difficult time finding something quaint, serene and affordable. Subject inn however was one of the top results of the searches, prices were different on Expedia and on their website. We chose to use Expedia primarily because I am a gold member with them. It would have been additional $97 for the 3rd person in the room, which we were willing to pay. All you received for he extra sum was an extra blanket, one pillow. It is a beautiful inn, grape trees everywhere, it feels secluded yet not.The appear to have been renovated for a minimalist look. I am not a fan of the bathroom door not closing all the way though. The bathroom is very nice but I wish the door wasn't just a farm/ranch style sliding type. The breakfast was decent, house made quiche, pancakes on request and the rest of the items were store bought. It is a little pricey for what they offer but the location is very nice and it is pleasant drive up to there.

Yelp
We just arrived and Crabby Patty is working the front desk. Hospitality is not her strong suit so I do not comprehend why SHE is greeting guests. This is our 3rd visit to the WCI so we should have received a better reception. I walked in without a mask and asked if masks were required since the women at the desk were wearing them. We're from the east coast and vaccinated. She barks at me that masks are required so I grab my mask and she then informs me, wile looking down and moving paper around, that the day BEFORE masks were mandated in the Napa region... how the heck was I to know!!! Why so rude...geez. Our rooms aren't ready so we are going to go to walk to Brasswood for lunch and ask if we can leave our bags there. She says, ' you can leave them here but they aren't always at the desk to keep an eye on on them'.. are you kidding me!! C'mon Crabby Patty, DO BETTER!! This pandemic has been tough on all of us, there is no need for rude behavior especially in the hospitality business. Oh and because of the pandemic they are not doing the buffet breakfast so we need to order in advance for room service. My daughter writes on her form that she's gluten and dairy free and places her order of scrambled eggs and sausage and 'Crabby Patty' says we 'don't do gluten and dairy free'. I look at her... you got eggs, right?? That just tells the the chef not to be creative and throw toast and cheese on top to make it look pretty. I've been up since 3am...be flipping kind and friendly, like I was to YOU!!! We returned from lunch and there was new staff at the front desk who was perfectly pleasant.

Yelp
We travel quite frequently. We love to come to Napa and we do so all the time. When we come to the Napa Valley we enjoy staying in different places as well. On this trip we booked the Wine Country Inn & Cottages, what a mistake! The gal that checked us in was not interested in providing good customer service at all. We were told that many of their services are not available because of COIVD. Really? The only requirement right now is to wear a mask indoors. Why didn't it say all of this when we booked our room at almost $700 per night for a Sun-Tuesday? She basically pointed at the wall to tell us where our room was. It took us awhile walking around the property to find it. She shoved a letter at us and told us to read it. I guess we were caught up in enjoying our day and it was 5 pm so we didn't realize we need to call the day prior to get our room clean. How do you check in and she doesn't ask us since it is so late in the day? We were just going to get ready for dinner and leave which is what we did. Fast forward we come back from our day in the Napa Valley and our room is not cleaned. I called the front desk where Shelia was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to. She very rudely asked me if I read my letter? She proceeded to talk to me like I was a child. I hung up the phone and told my husband, "Did we seriously pay almost $1400 for this?" You don't clean the room, you don't bring us towels, you don't take out the trash, and you talk to your guests so terribly. From someone who travels, and has been a manager in the customer service business for over 30 years, do not stay at the Wine Country Inn & Cottages until they improve their customer service and rude employee attitudes. Other guests here felt the same way as we did. COVID is NO excuse for being rude to someone who is paying a lot of money to stay at your Inn. I guess they are desperate, but this is only going to affect their bookings. People do read these reviews. To top it off I emailed the General Manager as well and still have not received a response. I guess the customer service stems from the top! It is overpriced and the staff ruin the experience.

Yelp
The Wine Country Inn & Cottages is an amazing property tucked away in St. Helena. The location is close to many wineries and even has vineyard and mountain views! The cottages are spacious, luxurious and romantic. We enjoyed the wine hour and the breakfast was delicious. We even got to swim in the pool during the cold winter - it's heated to a comfortable temperature and the hot tub was nice as well. The staff here is super personable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends interested in visiting the valley.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
This place is really nice. Next door to Duckhorn Vineyard, had a few minutes to kill so they arranged to get me in, as they don't do walk ins there. The room was huge and comfortable (Room 4) overlooks Duckhorn's vineyards through a giant picture window. It's located perfectly between Calistoga, The Culinary Institute and the silverado trail. A tad pricy but great service ...Highly recommend!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here last week celerating our anniversary in the valley. Overall, we had a great time! These are the reasons we loved Wine Country Inn & Cottages: 1) The room was gorgeous. We orginially booked a garden view deluxe room but were upgraded to a garden view cottage and we were totally blown away by it. 2) The location was great. Super quick and easy to get everywhere we booked. 3) It was so quiet. It was a super peaceful place to stay. 4) Breakfast is included! We were able to get something small in the mornings before our first reservations of the day The only issue we had was that there were some cleanliness issues with the room. At check in we were told that our room would be cleaned on the 3rd day of our stay and to let them know if we needed cleaning more frequently than that. Once we got in the room, for the most part everything looked great, but we noticed a fair amount of what looked like dog hair on the floor in the bathroom, in the tub, and by the window nook by the front door. We let them know and the room was cleaned again the next day but the hair was still there so I don't think they thoroughly swept. The second night, we moved the couch and found some type of old food underneath it which was pretty gross. Also they didn't clean the room after the third day so we called to ask when they would be coming and they told us we were supposed to schedule a cleaning so it looks like there was a miscommunication there. All in all we had a great time and would come back though!

Yelp
Visited this last weekend and we had a small issue with our reservations we made prior. Nichole was able to get everything sorted out, and we got our cottage :) The room was very spacious, and so clean! Must I say we never stayed in such a beautiful place before? We've stayed at many high end hotels before. This is the top of the list now. We were sad we didn't get to go wine tasting due to the whole corona thing but overall we had a great time! The birthday girl enjoyed her stay. The next morning Nichole gave us a call and asked what we wanted for breakfast! She had GREAT hospitality, and made us feel very welcomed. I am all about customer service, and comfort... This place has it all! From the view, to the clean fresh air.... We will forsure come back soon! Thanks again Nichole! You're awesome.

Yelp
The worst hotel I have ever been to in my life. Customer service is trash. They don't like to communicate in person only through email during my stay. Stains on the robes. Not dog friendly. There was no clear information on what their dog policy was. I was emailed after my stay that I would be charged an extra $200 because I was accused of stealing a duvet cover. Then when speaking to a manager they said it was a cleaning fee not for stealing a duvet cover. I believe the front desk Nichole needs to do some customer service training because she does not know how to communicate with guests in person. She only writes emails. As you can tell I will not be coming back. Watch out for hidden fees they usually charge and tell you after you check out.

Yelp
Came here with my family for 4 nights. We had three rooms. Not cheap but normal for the thanksgiving holiday. The rooms were great. 26 has its own hot tub. Spacious with a large bathroom. And I had a deck as well. There's a pool with a larger hot tub as well. The location is great. Tons of wineries around. And not far from Calistoga and Napa. Great restaurants in proximity. The staff was very friendly and Janelle was great in helping plan wine tours and reservations. There is a fridge in the main building lobby with sodas and water you can get at any time. There is also a bowl of chocolate by reception. Breakfast was okay. Some egg options, usually some sort of quiche which was fine. Some fruit, granola, yogurt. Also baked goods. Some breads and spreads. Plenty of food. Every night they do wine and cheese. Local wines brought in. Great stay and would def come again.

Yelp
Great stay here! My girlfriend and I were here for her birthday and the staff at the front desk were always so nice and accommodating! The suite by the garden is an incredible view! And the birthday cake they provided for my gf birthday was incredible!

Yelp
What a special place. Thank you for all of the little touches that make the cottages feel like home.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. My husband booked this inn as part of a surprise birthday trip for me, and I couldn't have been happier. In addition to offering a delicious breakfast each morning, they host a nice wine and cheese reception at 5pm - a great treat to come back to after a day of touring the vineyards. This quaint inn has beautiful grounds with a nice pool/hot tub area which was quiet and serene. The entire time we were there, we naturally felt relaxed and at home. Our room was on the corner overlooking some of the garden areas with just a little glimpse of the pool, and so was closer to the entrance road/reception area, but even with the windows open most of the time, it was quiet and we barely ever heard any other guests. The rooms have the feel of an old Victorian home - our room even had a wood burning stove in the corner (but since we were there during a heat wave, we didn't use it). The staff is incredibly warm and willing to help in any way. Via Uber, we made it to our dinner reservations both nights in the downtown area in under 10 minutes - so it's super conveniently located as well. (Side note: if you're in Napa, we suggest checking out Platypus Tours to see a bunch of boutique wineries one day!) If we go back to Napa, there's no doubt I'll be staying here again.

Yelp
Incredible. Absolutely beautiful! So romantic and peaceful and the staff took such good care of us. Best anniversary/pre-wedding weekend EVER! Highly recommend.

Yelp
My husband and I escaped to Napa to relax. We decided to try the Wine Country Inn and were met with constant frustrations for an extremely high price. First and most important, there was no hot water. We were "upgraded" but found ourselves in a situation where we couldn't take a shower. You decide if that is an upgrade. Working hot water should be considered a must have in an establishment that charges this much for one night. To be fair, we complained, but the answer was less than satisfactory; move and take a shower, or stay and live without simple basics. We decided to stay, mostly because it was late and we were tired. And there was no offer to help move all of clothes that we unpacked. This is almost $600 a night! It would seem to me that someone would check to ensure that the basics are working before allowing folks to be charged that much for a single night. It doesn't stop there. There were additional minor headaches that shouldn't have occurred in a place with this price tag. Tomorrow, hopefully someone will come and fix the hot water. But for now, we'll work it out. I don't mind putting up with these headaches at most places, but not at a place that charges as much as this Inn. Poor.

Yelp
When booking specify first floor accommodations as they don't have elevators. The property is pretty and serene. The employees are friendly. The rooms spacious and unique. They don't have a safe in the room but offer robes and slippers. They also don't have a bellman. On the weekends they offer tastings from local vineyards for one hour. The problem with this property is the lack of food. There's no room service or appetizers for those who arrive late. Breakfast although good is repeated every other day. The breads/pastries are not baked on property- They are store bought. How can they justify the high prices when all you are getting is a room????

Yelp
Staff is not responsive when problems/issues are presented. Location is lovely, but the multiple minor issues are kind of irritating

Yelp
It is with some regret that I rate this property so poorly. Yes, the accommodations are nice and the setting is peaceful. One wants to give this property at least three stars and possibly four. But it has one fatal flaw which relegates it to the following category: never, ever again. All other adjectives and accolades aside, the Wine Country Inn is simply this: greedy and possibly dishonest. After prepaying for our room many days ahead of arrival, both my wife and I were beyond shocked to find that the "incidental" charge on our card, for a single nights stay, was over $570 dollars! Wow! Incidentals? The room had already been paid. The room offered no room service, television or mini bar. How in God's name were we going to rack up $570 for "incidentals" in a single night? When I asked the manager about this outrage she blamed their "system". What a wonderful explanation! My wife and I have traveled all over the world. We understand the additional incidental charge to the card of a few hundred dollars. Maybe even five hundred dollars if it's a five star hotel and we are staying several nights. The Wine Country Inn is drunk on itself. Me thinks the owner is making quite a bit of interest banking all those "pending" card deposits in his bank. It took five days to have our money released. Wine country lovers beware: this vintage is corked!

Yelp
Really nice place. A little on the pricey side. There was a kid flying a drone over the complex and the neighbor came and chewed my ass. Pissed me off. No tact what so ever just started blaming. The place is clean and food is good breakfast is the only thing. Staff is nice. Like I say a little over priced. Your paying for the area

Yelp
MOST AMAZING STAY! I treated my parents and myself to a little Wine Country get away and wanted to stay somewhere not too ostentatious and The Wine Country Inn was the perfect choice! This quaint and homey Inn combines all the luxuries of Napa Valley with the humble happy dealings of a bed and breakfast. * THE BEST STAFF! everyone feels like family, very informative & helpful * Free evening transportation to local restaurants * Help with reservations * Their own wine tours (very reasonably priced, small groups and vineyard choices were perfect!) * Free breakfast every morning: fresh cooked food and seasonal * Private rooms overlooking vineyards * Clean & country decorated rooms * Our room had a private jacuzzi, fire place and patio with a lovely view * Year round heated pool * Happy Hours: small wine tasting and treats * Aeroshipping for wine purchases * Free Parking * Free Wifi I will be staying here for every Napa visit!

Yelp
Such a gem. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The view from our room of the vineyard was so dreamy and romantic. It feels very tucked away but the location could not be more centralized. Bonus because they are dog friendly!

Yelp
motel quality at luxury price: This hotel was a huge disappointment! Our vineyard view room was priced at around $750 / night. The hotel was described as a luxury romance... we came expecting a romantic weekend getaway in Napa, CA. Well - we stepped into our room and found a gloomy mostly bare room. Furnished scarcely and painted and decorated in grey, the room feels cheap and repelling. The bathroom is very large but kind-of empty. A very large walk-in shower with a single shower head (no hand held anything), no bathtub. Low water pressure takes some patience to shower. The barn-style door to the bathroom is just across from the toilet and has large gaps all around that leave very little audio privacy to the users of that toilet. The room and the bathroom are strictly functional but far form adding any "spirits or joy" to the experience. Also, the room has a balcony that overlooks the beautiful Napa valley and a nice vineyard - it is a lovely view that almost makes you forget the room behind you. However, when you seat down on one of the lounge chairs on the balcony you find yourself staring at the beautiful valley through thick rail bars that obscure most of the view. The hotel has nice grounds and walkways that lead to the pool. The pool is decent but when the hot tub users use the tub's jets, a very loud and sharp whistling feels the air - we ran away as it was unbearable. The breakfast is included in the price: I can only describe it as a miserable, lonely breakfast selection accompanied with terrible coffee. The only comparable I can think of is one of those economy motels that offers free breakfast. There is also a daily (maybe only on the weekend? I'm not sure) complementary wine and cheese offering between 5:00 and 6:00 - this one is decent: the wine was reasonable and the accompanying cheese and fruit selection appropriate. Overall - save yourself the disappointment and find a better place.

Yelp
************************** 582 **************************** I fell in love with this Wine Country Inn years ago, but didn't really want to share this place with others. It's 1 of my get away place of all. It's on the far end of St. Helena HWY, tuck in this small street with a beautiful garden, luster green of the vineyards, each room or suite has different theme. You need to make a request when you make the RSVP. Our suite has the modern touch, heated floor, Jacuzzi in the bathroom, separate shower, double his & her sinks, full kitchenettes, fire place, comfortable bed, a private deck with a gorgeous view of the vineyards. Just a perfect place to get away from the busy city! Some rooms have vintage looks like bend and breakfast places, some rooms are completely modern, so variety for all. They have a big outdoor pool, a Jacuzzi outdoor, so perfect for a summer day, sunbathing is optional! I love their complimentary afternoon wines and snacks. They serve all different wines every day from different small production wineries; pairing with cheese, charcuterie from the Wine Country Inn chef. Their complimentary breakfast is also amazing, full continental breakfast, and you can bring to your room as well. Service is always super friendly here, especially Denise and her daughter. They are just great folks there to give you the best service. They also offer you complimentary shuttle for a few miles around the Inn. We had dinner at Terra, and they took care of us both way! I also love the fact that there's no TV in the room, at first time, I was annoyed by that, but now I appreciate it! If I want to get away from it all, I know I can get my peaceful stay here.

Yelp
We booked this accommodation for a recent Napa Valley trip. Mostly selected it due to limited availability. The hotel staff was not welcoming at all. Due to COVID precautions nothing was normal, and that was understandable but the staff was relentless about making us feel like we were carrying the plague! Food was only delivered to doors. All guests had to go in and ask for replenished supplies. No room cleaning was offered, not even even limited. No common areas were offered, no television or bar area. One evening we congregated in the main lobby sofa area (only 4 of us) to enjoy a glass of wine and conversation only to practically be kicked out. It was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. As avid travelers and lovers of the wine country, we will not be back here. For the price point of this spot, we expected our small family to be welcomed to socialize outside of our rooms. An overall disappointing experience.

Yelp
We took the 'wheel of mystery' on Expedia attaining a room at the last minute in this bed and breakfast and really lucked out ended up in detached large cottage with all the right amenities and accoutrements. The accommodation also had a large deck with seating and sunbathing potential and a restful fountain too boot. There is a swimming pool that we didn't get to, spa services that I hid from wifey and a great 'pre-dinner' ritual with a local winery sponsoring a tasting session and nibbles. Icing on the cake was a complimentary coach service too and from your fav local restaurant with a rather colorful character at the wheel. I highly recommend the wine country inn as a port of stay whilst in Napa Valley, we will definitely return ! Only thing I would recommend is as part of the b'fast spread to get a little hippy with a vitamix :-) apart from that it was a joy

Yelp
I have not been here in many years but this place is always been a pleasure. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The setting is lovely. Breakfast is very good and so is the hospitality. Coffee, tea and infused water available all day. Spacious bathroom, refrigerator, nice decor, bathrobes & slippers, etc. My only complaint is that I could have used a few more hangers. Does that even qualify as a complaint? It is not cheap to stay here but it is definitely worth it. I love the location. It's within walking distance to Duckhorn and Freemark Abbey wineries. Wish I could come more often. I have stayed at many places in the area but this is definitely my favorite.

Yelp
Our first visit here was THAT great that we had to come back and enjoy ourselves with the scenery, food, staff and hospitality that is very evident here. Most of the rooms were booked for a wedding party which made it difficult to reserve a room...especially on a specific day we wanted and some of the rooms you needed to stay a minimum of 2 nights which we didn't have time for since the bf was only in town for several days and we had other plans. But despite those limitations, he called and in the very end, was able to get a room on the day that we wanted. The staff was as friendly as they were a year ago when it was our first time. The food was delicious and the rooms were comfortable and very homey. This is the ideal setting for some R&R. I loved their granola the first time and forgot that you get a bag of it when you arrive. This time they've added mints and a soy candle to the welcome bag. It's always nice being treated and I know when I'm here, I can count on being treated well as a guest.

Yelp
We stayed here for a night and had a wonderful time. We got there around 1pm and the check in time was 3pm. Since we had little time, we asked for the receptionist to give us some recommendation for us. The guy who works there was super friendly and helpful. He gave us a lot of ideas for the places that we could go and the facilities of the hotel. Here are some of the highlights of the hotel: 1. Complimentary Breakfast served from 6am-10am. Huge selection of the breakfast. Like self-serve waffle, lot of fruits, eggs, cereals, homemade pastries, juices, sausages, and more. 2. Complimentary Wine Tasting from 4pm-6pm. Beside wines, they have some appetizers like cheese, cookies, nachos and some snacks. 3. Free Shuttle service to the restaurants in downtown 4. Pool and hot tub open from 8am-11pm One interesting thing to know is each room has it own different design and decor. We stayed at Room #4. The room was exactly the same as the picture shown at the hotel's website. We had its own patio. In front of the patio, it was a beautiful small garden. The room was very cozy, clean and lot of sunlight. Everything you need, you will find in the room (but no slippers). The bed was very comfy and soft. The towels were soft and good quality. They also had two big towels for the pool. One comment is I could hear people talking upstairs at night....Is it the reason that they have the ear plugs next to the bed!?!?!!?!?!? Overall, I had a pleasant and relaxed time there. I would not mind to stay there again if I come back to Napa.

Yelp
What not to love abt this boutique hotel! We went there in November and were overwhelmed by the fall colors in the backyard of the hotel which is a winery. The property is extremely well kept/charming and the staff is absolutely wonderful and helping. They always greet u with a smile and have a great attitude.. The wine and cheese in the evening is the perfect way to enjoy the sunset on the backyard deck with the winery view and so is the complimentary hot breakfast! We got the funny money by checking in on Facebook which we used to buy a hand made soap at their store :) The hotel is close to many good wineries like Castillo amorosa and duckhorn and is 5-7 min to both St Helena downtown and calistoga downtown. Oh and the wood burning fireplace was so romantic!!!

Yelp
We found this place on Yelp for a vacation for my wife and I. Took a gamble and booked cottage #27. Soooo glad we came here. Our room was awesome and romantic. The weather was perfect. IT WAS SO RELAXING HERE. Definitely away from the hustle and bustle. Great views. The staff is what turned this into such an awesome experience. Especially Stephanie at the front desk, what a helpful greeting to the area. We will be back. But let's keep this place a secret so not everyone books up the rest rooms.

Yelp
I came here in Jan 2016 with my boyfriend and we thought the room, grounds, staff were all lovely... but oh the awful bed... We stayed at a queen room with a real fireplace (really neat!) and neither of us slept well. The mattress was so old, outdated, and lacking any support that my bf slept on the ground instead. He didn't end up sleeping at all. Unfortunately the bed is such an important part of a hotel that we didn't get the best impression from this place. We tried the hot tub in the cold winter night though! Since it was freezing outside, we had the whole place to ourselves. That was probably the best thing about this place. The afternoon wine/cheese reception and breakfast were both outstanding as well. My goodness this place probably would have been the best napa valley hotel ever... with a proper bed.

Yelp
My partner and I stayed here for one night and absolutely loved it! The staff was super friendly and the brunch (especially the mushroom quiche) is amazing. When you can put on your PJs and the provided robe and feel fully relaxed - yes! The room we booked was very comfortable and certainly nothing extravagant. But the location - the campus itself is quite charming. Well manicured, peaceful, and serene. The pool and hot tub should not be missed. Very cozy, very friendly staff, and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Yelp
The Wine Country Inn is truly amazing. I can't comprehend this place receiving anything less than a five star rating. Absolutely everything about this place is first rate.
