On the Grid : Terroir Natural Wine Bar and Merchant

"Don’t expect to find Napa Cabs or Sonoma Chardonnays here. Lesser-known natural wines are Terroir’s raison d'être. Committed to providing an unadulterated taste of a place, the owners and self-proclaimed “wine geeks,” Luc Ertoran and Dagan Ministero, only pour wines produced without pesticides, herbicides, commercial yeast, or any of the other chemicals commonly used in modern wineries. Rendezvous with your boo or settle in with friends and explore the daily selection of wines scrawled on the chalkboard behind the bar. French wines from the Jura and Loire Valley dominate the list, along with selections from Italy and California." - Airbnb

This is hands-down my favorite wine bar in town! It’s a women-owned gem that radiates warmth and community. Whether you're stopping by for a quiet glass of wine or showing up with a crew, the vibe is always welcoming and inclusive. They host some of the most fun events around—Bachelor watch parties, trivia nights, and the can't-miss quarterly bingo bash. Pro tip: start a bingo card and check their website often for upcoming parties and special events—they go all out! I love how easy it is to drop in and find familiar faces. Whether it’s a random Tuesday or a themed party night, I always feel right at home with my neighborhood friends. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a place that blends great wine with community spirit and unforgettable events!

Google
Owners and bartenders are so lovely. We love coming here on weeknights to unwind and enjoy the Bachelorette/Bachelor screenings when in season. They have super fun loyalty programs and events that build a cute community of wine lovers. If in downtown SF definitely stop in!

Google
Been going here as much as I could every time I’m in SF. Sarah and Jamie run an awesome spot with great wines, bites and vibes (and Chambongs!). I’ve also recently held a mixer here and they were very supporting every step of the way. One of the best chill spots in SF no doubt!

Shivam Trivedi

Google
Found this place randomly, and I’m glad I did. It’s a fantastic wine bar with plenty of variety and a very funny “blackout bingo” card. Their champagne bong is basically a shot. The atmosphere is lively, and the servers are very friendly and helpful. Great place to relax and socialize with friends and maybe grab a few snacks. Will keep coming back here until I try all the wines!

Google
This spot was awesome for our private event after a conference at the Moscone Center (right around the corner)! The food was delicious (yummy empanadas), the wine flowing (the chilled red was my favorite), and the chambongs were the cherry on top.

Google
Wine Down SF is my third place, and for good reason. They have a great selection of red and white wines. And let's not forget the Chambong - a must-try! Owners Sarah and Jaime are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Black Out Bingo loyalty program is a brilliant touch, offering amazing perks like a chance to get invited to an bingo bash with all you can drink wine and even the opportunity to get your own personalized glass and a spot on the wall! If you do sign up for their Blackout Bingo program, say that Sankar (DJ SNKR) referred you. Beyond their amazing wine and the loyalty program, Wine Down SF also hosts fun events like monthly trivia nights, bachelor watch parties and the competitive Wine Olympics. It's the perfect spot to unwind after work, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a glass of wine. Five stars all the way!

Google
We had an incredible time at the Wine Down SF. We hosted a small happy hour and Sarah and the team couldn't have been more helpful in making it a huge success. Perfect atmosphere, great drinks and food, and wonderful staff! The perfect place for happy hour or a small gathering.

Simon

Google
Bad to drink with a friend here and it was really nice. Services good the people are very friendly and not at all snobby. They will help you pick out a line that is good for you without any kind of attitude which is nice to find in SF.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS COZY WINE BAR! This is such a hidden gem in SoMa area and I will be back! My friends and I came for their Bachelor finale watch party and had a great experience all the way from the service to the great wine/food options. We started with a round of their workbook white which was super delicious and nicely refreshing. Everything is also well priced and they even offer a wine bingo card you can complete if you try all their wines. They also had great small bites like cheeseboards and empanadas which smelled delicious. Beyond the food and drinks, this bar is super cozy with little nooks and great photo opportunities. For their bachelor watch party they created special bingo cards and even had prizes for the winners. The staff is very friendly and make it a point to get to know their customers. The staff offered great recommendations and we had great conversations with them. All in all this was a great night and I'm excited to come back soon!

Yelp
I coordinated with Sarah to have a group happy hour here. Communication and planning was seamless! Our group really enjoyed the non-alcoholic lemon ginger sparkling drink as well as the Chambongs which they are known for! The service was amazing! The bartenders made us feel welcomed and always offered to pour another drink when our glasses were about empty. Will definitely keep Wine Down SF in mind for our next SF happy hour.

Yelp
Generous, attentive and happy spirit here. Aaron was working the bar. I had 5 tasters of white and red blends but settled on the chilled red and roasted almonds. Happy hour includes the blends so perhaps I missed the deal but I'm satisfied with my choices. Limited food though the local empanadas are a good offer $7 each. Two tables outside and it's bright inside with chill music that will make it cozy for the coming rains... I always hope for the rains. This chilled red is from a natural wine maker. They like to work w/small production winemakers who tend to be more organic I believe. A "Good Wine Karma" board is here if you'd like to pay a glass or more forward! A new wine home. Two other nice touches: Aaron was attentive to my having a glass of water which I really appreciate. And, blankets available for when it gets cold at time.

Yelp
Great for happy hour and groups. The bartenders are super nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This place is our Go-To for team Happy hours! They also have good non-alcoholic options like the Yuzu Ginger (Non alcoholic beverage). Their Corn Empanadas are also really good!
google avatar

Yelp
I only came here once with a big group of friends. I like that they offer carafes of wine, it's just easier for groups. They do offer happy hour which is great. I feel like the city is stingy on happy hour so when a place offers it, it's always a nice surprise. The meat and cheese plate was only okay, cheese wasn't special but I love they do pita bread instead of crackers. I remember the empanadas were really good though. That was a good order for the table.

Yelp
I went here for a work happy hour event few months ago. The ambiance and service was amazing. The package that my company got for this event included drinks, hummus, cheese and fruit plates, cupcakes and mini empanadas which were served hot with a spicy sauce. They did have a veggie empanada and it was yummy!

Yelp
Chill vibe and great wine!! This place is great for an after work chill spot. My group was small. We had wine, the meat and cheese platter, and empanadas. Empanadas were on point! I will be back for sure. Parking sucks downtown so hopefully you find a good spot.

Yelp
- Great Ladies, service was fast and friendly. - Prices are in line with other SF Wine bars (~$15 + Tip + Tax for an "average/OK-" glass of wine). - The noise level was unbearable, it was almost impossible to have a conversation without yelling.
google avatar

Meera S.

Yelp
I can't speak enough goodness about the ladies who run this operation. I first discovered WD about five years ago, when a friend and I decided to have joint birthday get together. Since then, I have grown to love Jaime and Sarah for what they stand for as women, minorities, small businesses owners, and, just people with big hearts. I am also delighted (but not surprised) by the creative ways in which they stayed afloat the past few years, while the rest of the world was falling apart :( Most recently, these women went above and beyond to help me organize holiday gift boxes for nearly 100 team members. Timing was tight, and recipients were all over the country, but J & S, and their incredible team, more than delivered. Keep it up guys!!! Can't wait to see what you do next

Yelp
Our organization hosted their "meet-up" at Wine Down SF. Sarah Garand and her staff were amazing. From planning the details to the day of the event, everything went smoothly. The food is wonderful with an attractive selection of wines. I would highly recommend Wine Down SF for a gathering!

Yelp
When I lived in the East Bay I would drive by this location often on my way to the Bay Bridge. I would look over and imagine myself with a glass of wine and appetizer instead of another hour of traffic jams. I arrived early for an appointment that I had in the neighborhood, so I decided to find a spot to enjoy a happy hour drink. Since I was early, the place was empty and got to learn more about the place. The bartender was great, let me know what they had on special and I tried the Point Reyes TOMA cheese plate with warm flatbread. To drink, I had the Sparkle Pony from the local Black Hammer Brewery. I loved the wine and beer selections that they had. The options of food and beverages are great for a happy hour get togethers, dates and special events. Overall a great place and can't wait to come back with others.

Yelp
YAAAAAAS. I love this place. My role at work used to be "happy hour planner" -- I had to track down new, exciting bars for work happy hours for 10-20 people. My most successful event ever was at Wine Down. The owners are fantastic to work with. They planned things out such that drinks were pre-poured and meat/cheese platters were ready to go when we arrived. And the service continued to be great throughout the evening. Fantastic place to host a happy hour or similar event!

Molly C.

Yelp
We worked with WineDown for a private event and it was the event of my dreams. Working with their team was so smooth and enjoyable. The event itself went without a hitch. The food was amazing, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was relaxed, fun, and just all around great vibes. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I came for a Bachelor party. This is a cool place to go watch my television guilty pleasure on a Monday night called " The Bachelor". This place was crowded with Bachelor viewing fans. Had good glasses of Pinot Noir. Good place to unwine and wine down after having a case of the Mondays. Since Monday Night Football season is over its time to watch the new body contact sport called " The Bachelor" on Monday nights.

Yelp
New favorite spot in life. Period. This place is awesome!! Wine Down is perfect for a nice afterwork drink and nibble on something good. The vibe is very cute, chill and Instagram ready. The service is extremely prompt and friendly. And the drinks and yummy bites just topped it all off wonderfully. We split a carafe of white wine, the three pretzel buns, champagne gummy bears, and some hot mozzarella empanadas. Yum, to all of it! There's also colorful little posters everywhere promoting special events like Bachelorette watch parties, bingos and more here. I was trying to read it all, everything seemed so interesting! I will have to go to an event one day, it's really a great spot for a social little shindig with treats and drinks. Love unwinding, I mean having a wine down, here!

Yelp
I worked with Sarah at Winedown to get some fun boxes sent out to our leadership team for the holidays. She was so helpful and efficient with making sure our order was what we wanted and got delivered to everyone on time. Sarah also HAND DELIVERED my box since I was local so I got to meet her! Overall great experience working with Winedown and Sarah. Will definitely be using them again.

Yelp
What a fun place to hang out! My colleagues and I tried coming here on a random weekday, but the whole place was closed for a private event. BOO. Actually I don't blame them because it's a pretty awesome venue. It's right in the lively heart of SoMa. Their happy hour is 3pm to 6pm daily, and fortunately my boss and I made it on time to get $5 off a carafe of rosé. Yes, we finished the whole thing on our own. It was tempting to play their Blackout Bingo game. Maybe if I lived or worked closer. To prevent ourselves from getting too drunk, I ordered four of their empanadas, one of each that they offered that day. It was an assortment of vegetarian ingredients. Took awhile to prepare but totally worth it. Steaming hot and incredibly flavorful. The décor is beautiful. I just love how bright, white, and well-lit this place is. Super swanky. The vibe is as upbeat as the neighborhood, especially with a DJ at one end of the bar and some of the bartenders celebrating their birthdays. I'd love to come back here whenever possible, even if it's out of the way. Such a fun place to hang out, especially if you work in the area. Good snack options. Open on the weekends. Generally just a great company, and most of all, and I appreciate their enthusiastic customer service.

Yelp
What a wonderful little wine bar chock full of lovely selections and that amazing charcuterie board. I'm happy!!

Yelp
Honestly came here for the high yelp rating because being an elite I kinda listen to what my fellow yelpers are raving about. The outside of the bar is kinda ho hum. The inside on the other hand it certainly cute. Inviting and quaint. Good Wine selection, went with the sparkling as usual. Nice staff cool vibes. Great place to "wine down." I

Yelp
I met up with two girlfriends last Thursday, March 9th around 5:45pm for happy hour. One of my gfs got there first, so she was able to snag three seats at the bar. There were a few work HHs happening at the time, so it was fairly busy. *Cabernet Sauvignon: Cultivar, Napa Valley, 2014 ($15 glass x3, $71 carafe) *Cheese & Meat Feast: served with warm flatbread, Zoe's Prosciutto, Zoe's Spicy Salami, Point Reyes Blue Cheese, Rumiano's Sharp White Cheddar ($19) *Nucha Empanadas: served with chimichurri sauce; Spinach & Feta: organic spinach, onions, feta cheese, ricotta cheese, bechamel sauce; Caprese: roasted tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, fesh basil; Mushroom Gorgonzola: crimini mushrooms, onions, gorgonzola cheese, ricotta cheese (3 for $12) Their HH is 4pm-6:30pm and is called Happiest Hours. They do $1 off glasses and $5 off carafes of wine and pitchers of beer. (Prices listed above are their regular prices.) Since we all arrived at different times, we each started off with a glass of cab, not knowing everyone else also ordered cab as well. After the first round, we got a carafe which is supposed to be 5 glasses, so a better deal in the end as 5 glasses would have been $75 versus $71. The red was a good fuller bodied wine, but I didn't think it was as complex as other reds I've had. We needed some snacks while drinking. I always end up ordering the charcuterie plate. It's a decent amount for the price, but if you're super hungry, I suggest making it a double for $35 as it wasn't a lot for three people. For the empanadas, they have a daily selection. Out of the three, I really enjoyed the mushroom empanada. We ate that one first, so the other two were a little disappointing as the mushroom one was so good. Service was pretty good for it being so busy. It was never hard to get the attention of any bartender. They were also all very friendly. My gf who got there first had a nice conversation with one of the owners before we joined her. Fun place if you like drinking wine. I haven't had much wine on tap, so this was a nice place to grab some glasses. Just make sure to go during their happiest hours to take advantage of that discount!

Yelp
If you're looking for a place to throw a bridal shower, look no further. I planned a bridal shower at Wine Down for my best friend and it was so much fun and hands down, the perfect venue for us wine-loving gals. Staff was wonderful and so helpful, we enjoyed ease and flexibility on how we wanted to utilize the space, and the best part -- every inch of this wine bar is a photo op which means you won't have to worry too much about decorating. Sarah was so communicative and easy to work with, which made the planning process go super smoothly. We loved the cute mimosa bar with YAY champagne glasses, and of course, the chambongs were perfect for our bride vs groom race. We loved that they opened the space to us outside of normal business hours so we could be rowdy and have fun without disturbing other patrons. Lastly, wine selection here in on point and I can't wait to return!

Yelp
I came here for the first time to watch a Bachelorette premiere, and absolutely fell in love with the place. Locations is great, pretty central, near MOMA. Decor is super cute, the place in general is super Instagrammable. The vibe of the place is really laid back and would be great for a date night. I love all the little extra touches they have throughout the bar, little signs, plants, etc. The place is a bit tight, especially on a busy night, but no different than any popular bar in the city. The night I went, they provided candy and Chex Mix to everyone there, and even did a little trivia game for the Bachelorette in which you could win a hat. It made the night even more fun! The bar tenders were really friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable, around $8-$15 for a glass. We got a carafe for $59. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got to try them out for HH (4-630pm). My friend and I actually came from another wine bar so we were able to compare the two and felt the quality of wine was better here, although also much more expensive. Drinks were $1 off glasses and $5 off carafes/pitchers. My friend had a cabernet ($15) while I opted for an espresso milk stout beer ($7). The wine was very smooth with a nice powerful flavor - definitely not suited for the wine novice. I loved the coffee flavor of the stout and how it complemented the beer without overpowering it, but thought there was just a tad bit too much foam on top. We also shared a plate of empanadas, which were small but tasty! The mushroom gorgonzola had a very strong cheese flavor, which some people might not like, and I'm glad we split it because I don't know if I would've been able to handle that much of it LOL. The spinach and feta, on the other hand, had a much lighter flavor which I liked more. This wine bar is small (probably seats ~20 people max), well lit, and very clean, with kind of a bougie atmosphere. The music allows for easy conversation but isn't so quiet that it detracts from the fun HH vibe. The menu is a little limited, but our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and the pours were generous, so we were very satisfied with what we ordered. It's definitely more of a splurge for me, but I'm glad I tried it!

Yelp
Great wine , great place 4.5* Found this place strolling around the city with a friend. We decided to get an afternoon glass of wine and try the new place out! The interiors are very well done and the main bar is the primary seating inside. There are some tables too and some seating outside as well. The menu has a wide selection of wines and small plates. The bartender was very nice and explained the wine selection and the revisions, flavours, etc. He has the biggest smile and was so welcoming. He even offers a taste before we ordered the glass. Note: The wine was not from a bottle but a tap!!! That was super cool and a first for me. We decided to try the white wine ( it was a very hot afternoon) and got the Riesling and the Chenin blanc. The wines were super and the Chenin blanc ($12.00/glass ) was my favourite 10/10 and the Riesling ($8.00/glass) was pretty good too 8/10. The music usually is not noticeable in wine bars but here they played hip hop tines which were just awesome ! We had a fantastic time We did not try the food but did see small plates of an assortment of meat being ordered by others. By the time we were leaving around 6 pm the place was packed( the outdoor space specially). They have a unisex bathroom in the back which had a very cool gold finish look and played hip hop !! That was a winner for me :P I recommend this place highly !!

Yelp
Loved the vibe here overall- the space, the energy, the wine. What I didn't love- ordered pretzels and empanadas at 5:50. Around 6:50, I told the waiter we had never gotten our empanadas. He said he'd go check (note he didn't apologize). He never came back, nor did the empanadas arrive. At 7:30, our friend whose put his card down for our tab has to head out. He checks out at counter. At 7:35, our friend has left and I ask one more time (1 hour, 45 mins later) where the empanadas are. I'm told that they were removed from our bill (at 1 hour and 40 mins after we ordered them, and our friend was checking out). I asked- what about the 1 hour & 30 minutes we waited for them? I didn't get an apology, didn't get the empanadas. really upsetting. We had wanted to stay for another few glasses of wine but left instead.

Yelp
I've passed by Wine Down several times, but didn't make my way in until last night. Here's the breakdown: - Seating is mostly all high chairs. Along the bar, along the window, and a handful of tables inside. - Not a large place, limit your group to 4 max if you want to comfortably sit next to each other and talk. - Good for meeting up with friends, going on dates, trying new wines. - Wines are $8-12 a glass. Carafes are $45+ - Happy hour is 3-6 pm. $1 off glasses, I think $5 off carafes. - Variety of snacks to munch on: Hummus and pita, Pretzel knots with mustard, etc. - Cheese and charcuterie available to order. $19 for a met and cheese plate, $36 for the feast size. Smaller size board is more than enough for 2 people to snack on while drinking, comes with 2 pre-selected cheeses and 2 meats. Current offering is Brie, Sharp White Cheddar, Spicy salami, and prosciutto. *They also have a blue cheese you can opt for but it is not on the menu so you have to ask for it to replace one that comes with the board. Fun extras: They have a blackout beer and blackout bingo card you can opt in for and if you complete all of the squares within 30 days you will receive an invite to a bottomless wine party that lasts 1.5 hours. Win 3 months in a row and get a free carafe of wine (if I recall correctly). Smart way to lure repeat customers haha. They also put the Bachelorette on for weekly viewing parties.

Yelp
Wine Down threw me the pandemic birthday bash of my dreams. My friends gathered safely on the charming patio, drank expertly curated wines, and munched on delectable snacks and cupcakes--a spectacular spread. Sarah and Jaime made planning a breeze and their table and counter service so seamless that it felt more like an elegant house party than a bar. Lots of personal touches, like the best-ever paper crown, chambongs, and festive decor, made the afternoon event extra special. Thank you, Wine Down!

Yelp
This place is awesome!!! Came across it while looking for bars to go to downtown. It's a small place that has a couple tables outside and also tables inside with a bar. When we went there was probably about 3 other parties there, so it wasn't busy at all! The guy working (not sure his name) was so great! Very attentive and easy to talk to. They do happy hour every day from 3-6 as well which is awesome! They have a decent wine and beer selection, and my personal favorite was the chambong! We also got the cheese and meat plate, empanadas, and the roasted almonds, all so delicious! The almonds were my favorite, they were flavored to perfection. I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place, if I'm in the area again I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
First time at Wine Down after work yesterday and I had a lot of fun, the crowd is nice and the wine is delicious, we bought a bottle of Cab and I literally felt the one glass of wine for a while, it was great quality wine. The staff was friendly, especially for a super busy evening, we were served immediately and waters were poured once while we got settled and once before we left, perfect timing. The decorations inside give the place a very chic vibe, unicorns, gold accents, blues, whites, yellows, wood accents....it has personality and I love that. I took one star off due to the capacity and size. I believe it is a very small space for the amount of people requesting service. It felt like we were really packed inside and it made the "sit, sip, and chat" experience a bit impossible with people literally hovering over you. If I could suggest one thing it will be to have a better system that allows for a better flow of people and service. They also gave us cool bingo cards that they keep with your name on them and when you return they check off wines that you have not tried which allow you to be a part of a "rewards" type of game, thought that was pretty cool! I will definitely be back, maybe not on a Friday evening but I'll be back.

Yelp
Finally! This little nook of the city is getting something fresh and new. At least it's new to me, since I don't get to SF as often these days. A quaint little wine bar that has my favorite beverage on tap. Uh huh. So many options, pretty impressive for a freshman effort. I had a glass of Albariño and it was just the right drink for a warm, sunny day. Fresh, crisp and chilled. I wish they had wine to-go, but they only have sparkling bottles available. I would've gladly taken a few stills to dinner. That's ok, it makes the "dining in" experience even better.

Yelp
Love Wine Down! In addition to being female owned, they have a most lovely employees working there. There is bar seating with a couple tables inside. You can email them to reserve one. They also have a small set of outdoor tables and do some great theme nights, not to mention their epic "blackout bingo" game. Great variety of wines and beers and a bonus that they serve a light array of food. Bonus: The bathroom is full of goldddddddddd
google avatar

Yelp
Catchy name and surely needed after the work day flow! Reliever to wine down, indeed! I like that it is tucked away and a bit difficult to notice. A communal outdoor table outside and indoor is all about contemporary vibes. There are side plates to possibly pair with the flattering of wines! Happy hour is happening here. The name says it all.

Yelp
I know it's a wine bar, but we ordered three types of beers and they were all flat and not cold at all. In fact, they were completely room temperature. The food was just okay, but came out within 10-15 min of ordering. We liked the mozzarella and onion empanadas better than the spinach and feta. The pretzel knots were definitely the best thing we ordered, the mustard they use is really good! If I come back it'll be for the friendly staff/nice decor or to try the wine

Yelp
My company hosted an event here for the RSA conference last week. As the marketing person in charge of conferences and tradeshows, it was my responsibility to throw this customer event together. I am so glad I had Sarah's help! Where do I begin? First, Wine Down SF is a cute and cozy wine bar on Folsom Street in SF. From my first inquiry to the final event logistics, Sarah was on top of everything! She was always responsive via email & answered all the uestions I had. I honestly could not have asked for a better venue to work with. Second, Wine Down's ambiance is perfect and on point for a wine bar! From the wine bar layout, to the carefully color-coordinated interior decor, this was the ideal venue for our customer event (corporate setting). Even the bathroom was elegant haha 5 stars hands down!! May I mention they put out several vases of fresh flowers to spruce up the ambiance the evening of our event? I would highly recommend this venue to anyone-- not just for an event, but for a nice girls night out or a romantic date in the City. I hope to return in the future to enjoy more wine! Thanks so much to Sarah and the staff for hosting our CipherCloud event!

Yelp
Wine down is such a great place where the staff recognize you and are super friendly without being overbearing. Ever since I started participating in their black out bingo, my co-workers and I have been going very frequently. Basically you fill it out and at the end of the month you're invited to an unlimited wine party. Unlimited!!!! I will say though that each glass is kind of pricey at around $8-$12. I also wish that there were descriptions of the tastes/notes for each wine. Also, get a chambong

Yelp
I've been to Wine Down a few times now with friends/co-workers. It's easy to get to on foot or by public transit, and can also be easy to get to by car since there's street parking and parking lots/garages nearby. It's definitely a popular spot for after-work crews. As such, it can get crazy busy and be difficult to find a space (table, seats, standing room, whatever) for groups. That being said, I know *I* am a fan ;) Their wine is on point and they also have wine "bingo" to help you keep track of the wines you've tried off their menu.

Yelp
Met up with a few colleagues after work here. It was a Monday evening and so there was - thankfully- not much of a crowd and we spend a very pleasant couple hours sipping on wine & beer. Good place to go with a small group.

Yelp
Chill, cute, small spot to grab wine with friends in SoMa (across the street from SPiN and around the corner from Osha Thai). If you come during happy hour, the carafe is $5 off, and one pours out about 5 glasses of wine (four other friends and I paid ~$10 each for carafe of a white wine). My friend also got a chambong, which is basically champagne served in a curved champagne glass (like a bong). I mean... how else are you supposed to drink champagne?! There are also board games (like the recently popular "What do you meme?").

Yelp
I swung by here for happy hour after work. It's super cute and I love the decor. I sat on their outside patio (so my pug could join), had rosè and a cheese & charcuterie plate. The bread with the plate was warm and delicious. It's a great spot to go with coworkers or a group of girlfriends! I will definitely be back. Ps. Make sure to check out their *sparkling* bathroom. No really, it's literally sparkling and probably the most fabulous bathroom in SOMA (or all of SF for that matter).

Yelp
This place is my favorite new drink spot! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this gem on a Saturday afternoon. This place is always packed on weekdays so I'd never checked it out before...But I will definitely brave the crowd in the future! We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Sarah. She was so friendly and her wine recommendations were on point! Their menu is unique, there are 8 reds, 8 whites, and a suite of beers available for your drinking pleasure. AND all of their wines are on tap! Such a cool little place, we will definitely be going back!!

Yelp
This is such a special place -- it provides some reprieve from the nearby concrete jungle. Fantastic knowledge from the staff and excellent pours.

Yelp
SUMMARY: Professionally run bar from top to bottom. We had a farewell party to plan for our departing manager and everything went smoothly. Oh and not to mention, great drinks, and especially GREAT service! BACKGROUND As mentioned above, one of our managers was retiring so we wanted to send him off in style. Wine Down was one of the few places that could not only accommodate a reservation, but was not overtly and outrageously overpriced (hey, we're not tech workers). All my communications with the Wine Down management was via email and a phone call. A space was carved out for us and was marked off as reserved. A party platter that was purchased by us was neatly laid out by the window and got a lot of gawks and stares from passers by and us too. All items in the party platter (cheeses and crackers) were outstanding and very tasty especially the soft cheeses. WINES AND BEER So I was the only black sheep who ordered beer because frankly, I prefer beer over wine. There were a lot of compliments about the wine that night and while I left earlier than most, I heard the next day from my coworkers about the different variety of wines people drank that night. So I surmise everyone enjoyed their drinks :) SERVICE Without getting long winded, service was excellent at the bar. We didn't have to make much effort as different staff member check up on us throughout the event without our prompting. This is always a nice thing and speaks to their staff's professionalism and their management's training. RETURN VISIT? Yes as a group, most definitely yes. We aren't terribly close to Wine Down, but not terribly far away either. But they have a great space, not too crowded, and serve great food and drinks. What's not to like about that?

Yelp
Tldr: good for a casual wine with a friend or two, especially during happy hour. Known for their chambongs (champagne shooters) which I'll have to come back for! Came towards the end of happy hour on Friday with a friend. The deal is always $5 off carafes and snacks, like their meat/cheese plate. FOOD Charcuterie: 4/5 They ran out of one of the cheeses which was disappointing. Everything was yummy, but I felt there should have been more for $21, like some marcona almonds and figs. Rose: 3/5 There are only two options of rose. I got the non-bubbly one, which turned out to be not as sweet as I would have liked. SERVICE Great service! Super attentive and friendly. AMBIENCE It seems that this place hosts a number of events throughout the year, as signs around the restaurant were advertising their 12 Days of Christmas celebrations and new years eve party. There was even a small group celebrating a birthday (you can birthday packages through the restaurant). Would definitely come back for an event or to try a chambong

Yelp
Small venue but a wide variety of wines. Perfect for casual drinks with a friend. Plus they offer these bingo like cards you can fill out every time you order a different drink; fill out the entire card and you get to attend one of their "black out" all you can drink events. We had a fun time + all of their staff were super nice.

Yelp
Really great happy hour/after work spot. On a Tues at 6 pm, it had a few groups in it and grew more crowded as the evening went on. It never got ridiculously packed and loud like so many other spots in the area. I could have a conversation w the person I was with by only slightly raising my voice instead of shouting--a nice change of pace. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. They came around about 5 min before the end of happy hour and asked if I would like to order another round before happy hour ended, even though I had at least 1/3 of a glass left. Then, I realized my friend wasn't going to make it there in time for happy hour, and they were more than willing to have me order for him as well. I appreciated the graciousness, as some places frown on the happy hour "load up." The space is also a change of pace from all the reclaimed wood and dark interiors that are so ubiquitous these days. The decor is dominated by a clean white and gold palette, with the gold flecked, white quartz bar dominating the space. There is a good variety of seating - at the bar, large communal tables, and high-top/bar-like seating that faces the windows or wall if you want more private space. They keep a nice selection of domestic wines (white, red and sparkling) and local beers on tap (good range from pilsner to double IPA). Tastes are given without hesitation. They also have bar bites, but I didn't try them so can't rate them. The prices are fairly typical for this part of SOMA. $7ish for a beer. $10-15 for a glass of wine. $1 off all glasses during happy hour and $5 off carafes and pitchers.

Yelp
Lots of wine options on draft. So cool. I came here after work one day to meet a friend for a glass of wine. We sat outside at first and when it got cold, moved to the bar. We had a great time catching up as the place wasn't too crowded and was perfect for that purpose.
