How to Eat Your Way Through Penang, Malaysia—Asia's Most Exciting Food Destination | Condé Nast Traveler

"For George Town’s most extensive collection of natural wines, this stylish, couch-filled space owned by Gēn’s Johnson Wong delivers depth and comfort in equal measure. It’s a laid-back salon for the natty-curious with a serious but welcoming list." - Arati Menon

Great ambience on a quiet Sunday night. Popped by for a quick drink and they do carry a variation of nattys and conventional wines. Had the house pour red blend from Ningxia “Xiao Pu The Gathering” and it was decent with berries & kirsch notes, most likely a semi carbonic or perhaps a full carbonic blend. An interesting concept of a wine bar for the wine nerds/enthusiasts. If you’re a wine sommelier it’s worthy to explore.

It’s a super quaint and comfortable space.. feels like a home.. I believe you can order food from communal table downstairs. But what’s amazing is the explanation of the wines.. we wanted a bottle of orange and he quickly brought us a few and explained one by one! More importantly it doesn’t feel intimidating.. which is great if you don’t have too much knowledge about wines like me. Price was average imo. Overall great ! Toilet was clean and spacious! Will come back

What an amazing find! I stumbled upon this wine place through a random search on Google Maps, and it turned out to be an absolute hidden gem. The cozy ambience immediately won me over. I arrived around 4:40 PM and was the first customer, having the entire place to myself. Their wine selection is impressively extensive, but the staff made it so much easier. I requested a house pour, and without me even asking, the waiter generously let me sample both red and white wines. The service was impeccable, and the experience was delightful. If you're a wine lover looking for a charming spot with great service, this is the place to go!

Super vibey wine bar - perfect for an understated classy night out. Knowledgeable server. Nice selection of natural / bio wines (largely old world) by the bottle. Would love to see a couple more options for wines by the glass, as there is only 1 white and 1 red available per eve (though this rotates).

This spot was really cool to have a glass of wine at. Melan, one of the friendly servers managed to squeeze us in at the last minute without a booking. The house wine was lovely.

You can order food from the michelin restaurant downstairs. Staff were super friendly. The tatami seats also made it feel like home. Overall very very good experience. Do note the place is quite pricey. We spent 500RM for 1 bottle of wine and 2 appetisers.

Lovely chilled wine bar with a good selection of wines by the bottle and a smaller but very palatable selection by the glass. Very knowledgeable and affable sommelier. A nice experience.

No doubt, the best place in Penang to get some unique tasting wines that are from lesser known regions and vineyard from new and old world. The place and wine selection was so impressive that we came back another evening for more bottles. For a group of 4, we had 3 bottles each evening, lounging away in the smaller room where people can just take it easy sit back and really have a good chat. Can't exactly remember every single bottle we had (im horrible with names) - VX: A very unique tasting wine that some might compare more to a slightly sourish fruity cocktail with a slight alocholic backdrop - Marieta: The best takeaway from this place, it was so good, we wanted to purchase more to keep at home. We had it on both nights. The white wine had a very pleasant taste with a unique feel to it. - Pies Negros 2021: Red that was medium bodied. Was a good way to end the night, while not being overwhelming without any food, the group loved it as well
