Google
Great views and friendly staff. The per-glass price was reasonable (but expensive for European standards) and reflected the location. Good selection of snacks and wines

Google
Lovely wine bar on the upper levels overlooking the Douro River and the beautiful Luis I bridge. Knowledgeable staff who will love to take you on a tour of amazing Portuguese wines. We visited a few times and loved it.

Google
This is a lovely wine bar with a fantastic view of the Douro River. The staff were very friendly as well. If you want to relax with a glass of wine and beautiful view, this is the perfect spot!

Google
Trust the reviews and it was great. Very friendly staff, let them know what type of the wine you like and then they recommend the best. Cheese and Salami are very tasty and good quality. Nice view of river in cozy place.

Google
This wine bar is a bit of a gem – excellent views, very good food, and solid service. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would definitely return. That said, I was hoping for a bit more in terms of staff knowledge about the food and especially the wine. When you’re enjoying a glass in the very heart of the region where it’s produced, you expect the team to be confident in explaining what’s on offer – particularly the differences between the local wines. While the service was polite and friendly throughout, a deeper understanding of the menu would have really elevated the experience. This isn’t a complaint – more a note that there’s real potential here. I’m sure some of the staff do have that expertise, and I look forward to seeing that shine through next time. Would absolutely go back.

Google
Great place for having a chilled talk with friends and enjoying a gorgeous river view. The service is visibly attentive to its guests, very courteous and fast. Especially Adriana made our stay great and funny. The tapas like food was at higher quality, try the premium ham/pork. Delicious!

Google
Super nice place with river view and amazing wine & snacks! Staff were very nice and helpful. Cheese, wine, food all match perfectly! Strongly recommended the 10 year Tawny port with some sheep&goat cheese, and some bread. Fresh simple and octopus are very yummy and fresh. Visited twice and I had wonderful times!

Google
An absolutely stunning view, incredible service! The owner herself chatted with us for 15 minutes to explore our wine tastes, helped us pick the perfect bottle of wine and snacks to pair it with! We loved the sardines in tomato and the goat cheese with our vinho verde. Would absolutely visit again!

Yelp
If you're ever have the opportunity to visit Porto, Portugal, you're in for a real treat. Our short trip to Porto we ate at several very nice places and enjoyed lots of great wine. But by far our favorite evening was spent on the banks of the Duro river, drinking wine and ordering small plates of food at Wine Quay Bar. We got really lucky to get a primo spot overlooking the Douro at the wine bar; it was picture perfect. With the help of the server we ordered a Douro Valley wine - a dry, fruity white. It was tastilicious. This place had an all appetizer menu -- like tapas in Spain. We had olives, a sublime soft sheep's milk cheese, bread, sardines in tomato sauce and pigs feet ... indescribably succulent, all of it. This place is a no-brainer for some of the most amazing food and wine in one of the most beautiful places one could enjoy them.

Yelp
This is the best waterfront wine bar with an excellent wine selection and the most delicious appetizers/tapas. Get here early to snag a first come first serve spot outside overlooking the river and Vila Nova de Gaia. We were able to catch the sunset with some really delicious wine, cheese, bread, and ham. The bustling street below is great for people watching and the guitar player on the street provided the perfect ambiance to start our night. Definitely plan to stop by!

Yelp
Delicious cheese plate with prosciutto, large wine selection, amazing view and great customer service. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
We were staying in the Airbnb above the Wine Quay Bar that is owned by the owners, Filipa and Moises. They offered a welcome drink and we went down the last night we were there. We were going to have a tapas dinner there but we had signed up at a different wine bar in advance and had already done the charcuterie dinner another night in Porto so did not want to do it 2 nights in a row. Had we known there was such a nice wine bar right below our Airbnb I probably would not have booked the other. Beautiful location right on the Tagus river with a view of the famous Dom Luis bridge! If you are looking for a romantic place to sit and people watch or to watch the sunset, don't hesitate to come here! Great selection of Portuguese wines and cheeses, meats, breads, olives, etc.

Yelp
Wow! Our first stop when we landed in Portugal from New York so granted we were a bit jet lagged and delirious but im so happy we stumbled into Wine Quay Bar. Right off the main touristy strip of restaurants and bars on the water, Wine Quay Bar is up a set of stairs above the Main Street. It's a very small place but views of the water are unobstructed and fantastic, and you don't have nonstop tourists walking by. We had two glasses of red wine recommended by the waiter, both from the Douro valley and loved each one. The food really shined though, the bacalao and truffle cheese were to DIE FOR. Must get both. The bread was also warm and plentiful. The tomatoes were fine but not super ripe. Be ready to fight off the seagulls overhead, and bring cash since they don't take Mastercard or Visa, but this place is a must-go in Porto.

Yelp
Tucked away from the busy street with amazing views across the River, this wine bar was outstanding! Great customer service and the wine + cheese was excellent!!! HAD to have the little guillotine bc it was so cool and the SELL THEM! Best souvenir of Porto!

Yelp
First Stop off the plane! Nebraska here!! Woot Woot!! I knew coming to Spain would be tough, but the pleseantries I had were undeniable. From the stewerdenesses to the captain, I felt warmed and welcomed on my flight. Back to the wine! This place delivered, blanco, red, rose, everything you could as for and more. The ambiance reminded me of my German cousin, and, my ex-coworker, edith's, husband, Rodger. Similar to Laurie, this was not right on the path so took myself a few minutes to venture in here. In another world, I would use google maps better. I found when abroad, google talks to me in KILOS so I was stumbling up and down the cobblestown for a few minutes. But let me tell you, the anticipation built and built and when my lips hit the glass, I was satisfied. Great place!!

Yelp
Think perfection. Yes, that's how highly I rate this sweet tiny wine bar. The view, the tapas, the wine... all perfect. The wait staff was able to smoothly switch between Portuguese, Spanish, and English. They recommended the wine, we drank and never once did they steer us wrong. The cheese! Good Lord, the cheese made me want to do back flips! I left happy, impressed and wanting to return for another night of magic.

Yelp
A very good place to have an amazing view of the live Ribeira, while enjoying your favorite wine or port wine. Our waiter was very friendly and the service was excellent.

Yelp
From pictures this may look like a tourist trap, although it is not. The view is really THAT beautiful especially during the sunset! The entrance to this place is a bit hidden, you walk along the shore and make a right turn on a small slope and you will see it. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings, but obviously, to get the best experience just go outside. It's not right next to the river, which is a plus as you have the sunset view plus people watching. The menu serves a lot of nice Portuguese wine, and our servers were happy to help us select one and let us try multiple wines until we found the one we wanted. Also got the sardine appetizers which was yummy as well. This is a must-go place when you are in Porto, super romantic!

Yelp
Great views and wine. But, be careful. Only Portuguese cards accepted, and the waitress never mentions this. So, if you aren't paying attention to the menu (QR code menu) then you're screwed. When we were ready to check out, we had to either download PayPal (no thank you), cash, or find an ATM. Unbelievable. Such a nice place but left a bad taste in my mouth.

Yelp
This is a cute place with tasty wine and finger food. The servers are knowledgeable and very friendly. It offers and amazing view of the water. Highly recommended

Yelp
Found this place online. What a great choice!! The view is terrific. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. We decided what we wanted to eat, and Moses picked the wine. Each wine choice came with a great background about the wine. Every dish we ate was top quality and the bread fresh. Don't miss out. There only downside is that the staff is flying by to keep up with the demand, but that's not a bad thing. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ambiance, the food, the wine and the knowledge Moses imparts.

Yelp
This always a great lunch spot overlooking the river. The food and ambiance were really great

Yelp
We went off a recommendation from my cousin. We got seated right away. We were a group of 4 adults and one 3 year old. The owner of the bar personally came up to us and asked if she could give our daughter toys to play with. She came out with two bins of toys so our daughter was entertained while the rest of us enjoyed our wine. The owner also personally served us. She made recommendations and when we choose one she smelled the cork and did a tasting to make sure the bottle was up to par. Then my sister did the tasting to see if we wanted it. After she served us, she joined our daughter to play with her. Eventually she asked if it was okay if she left to have dinner, told us that our girl was free to keep plying and introduced the server who would continue to help us. This experience was amazing. It warmed my heart that she made the wine bar fun for our daughter. The wine bar overall was great. Excellent views of the river and a really good wine selection. We really enjoy the bottle we got. We will be going back before we leave Porto.

Yelp
Beautiful view, good wine and snacks! It is a little difficult to find as the entrance is not off the boardwalk or the street, go up to the patio between the two and when you walk to the back, you'll see a little walkway that leads off to the left.
google avatar

Deb C.

Yelp
Beautiful location and selection with delicious light bites!! And if you are lucky as we are, Music below us by the River!

Rain G.

Yelp
Watch out for the seagulls if you sit at the wall, but snacks are great, nice wine selection, and the view is priceless

Samuel H.

Yelp
A must stop everytime we head to Porto. Beautiful views, fantastic wine, and great snacks to pair. If an outdoor space isn't available when you arrive- just let them know you'd like one and they'll work on moving you there as soon as someone leaves. This is truly a gem in all of Portugal.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect ambiance and view to wrap up our time in Porto. The small plates and wine were wonderful. FYI, cash only!
google avatar

Jason F.

Yelp
Excellent selection of local wines from knowledgeable servers that offers a great view of the Douro River. Don't pass up the spicy jam when ordering charcuterie
google avatar

Yelp
There are so many places to sip port along the Douro on Cais do Ribiera, but this one is a gem for couples or small groups. Several seats are available outside and overlook the river and port houses in Vila Nova de Gaia. We waited a short amount of time inside but were seated outside fairly quickly. We started with a nice glass of red from the Douro Valley and then tried some port. As a total port novice, I appreciated our server, who let us sample various ruby and tawny ports before we found something we liked best and genuinely seemed to care about our enjoyment of the wine. I settled on an oaky 10-year tawny from a small port producer. We also enjoyed some bread and mushrooms drenched in olive oil along with our drinks. The only item we could've done without was the spicy cheese. I love most types of cheese but just could not stomach this variety, which was super dry and reminded me of vomit. Just not to my taste, I suppose. Otherwise, we enjoyed every bit of our visit.
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Best view of the city and service was great! Sampled some cheeses, as well. Love that they have al a cart options.
google avatar

Cindy T.

Yelp
The owner visited with us and shared her knowledge of her wines! It was so enjoyable to relax enjoy the wine, the view and the great cheese and bread. Yum!!

Sarah B.

Yelp
Pretty good wine selection and tapas. Our server was very nice, but not as focused on finding our perfect wine in the same way as other wine bars we stopped in at. Still worth it for great views of the Douro River and the decent selection.
google avatar

michelle l.

Yelp
A definite tourist trap, but the view of the Douro is lovely, and they do have an extensive wine list and prices are very reasonable. They have some cheese and sliced meats to eat while you imbibe but no full menu. Get here early if you want a sunset view.
google avatar

Clive L.

Yelp
Tatiana and Moses were awesome and everything we ate and drank were fantastic. Highly recommend would definitely come back!!

Yelp
Great venue , especially if you get seating outside. Large wine selection with knowledgeable staff. Food menu consists of cheese, meats, and sardines. Very enjoyable to spend an evening sipping wine and watching the river. Would recommend and return.

Cyra C.

Yelp
They seem to serve some people quite quickly while we sat for 20 minutes while everyone got served before I flagged someone down. Being the only person of color must surely have been a coincidence. Not the first time in Portugal outside of tourist traps have I experienced this. Will update once I have eaten something. If I ever see the food.
google avatar

Dia M.

Yelp
Excellent wine bar to sit and enjoy the beautiful views of Douro River. We waited an hour to get seats outside as seating is limited and people take their time enjoying their wine and the views, naturally. Our wait was totally worth it because we had the opportunity to chat with the owner, Moses who was super nice and very apologetic that we had to wait so long. Chatting with Moses gave us insight into the history of the Wine Quay Bar and the building it's housed in. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable and will share with you detailed information about your wine selection. Along with their extensive wine list, they have an array of delicious bites to eat such as cheese, olives, bread, spicy jam, sardines, etc. Spicy jam is a must and it was delicious along with our sheep's cheese, olives, and bread. Will definitely revisit if ever in Porto again.
google avatar

Alex O.

Yelp
This is our FAVORITE wine bar in all of Porto! The owners are incredible and the staff, friendly. Their extensive wine list and gorgeous views overlooking the Douro River while you enjoy your wine listening to live music is what makes this place magical. Feel free to ask the servers to help select the perfect glass or bottle to enjoy with delicious accompaniments to satiate your appetite. They serve an assortment of baguettes, cheeses, olives, charcuterie and seafood. There's something for everyone. Enjoy!

Carlos T.

Yelp
Good service, staff and owner were very friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back to Oporto and visit this place again.

Ed G.

Yelp
Staff was rude. Would not seat us outside because we were a party of 3. Only thing going for this place is the view. Do not recommend.

Ben P.

Yelp
Amazing food and wine, and very affordable! Our server recommended us a few bottles of wine to pick from and we had delicious olives, cheese, shrimp, and more. The view from our seats on the river were breathtaking and made our dinner a truly memorable experience!
google avatar

David Q.

Yelp
This place was exactly what we were looking for in Porto. Great view of the Ribiera, extensive wine selection with affordable prices, and a limited but satisfying selection of snacks (bread, olives, cheese etc). Wait staff was excellent and knowledgable on the wines, and they gave us a squirt gun to shoot seagulls that try to steal the bread!
google avatar

Van Q.

Yelp
Very good tapas place with a beautiful view of the Douro river. nice crew, and nice good, I specially love the cheese and ham and good value for money ;-)
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
Amazing view and the tapas selection was varied and delicious. Our server made wonderful recommendations to make our evening the best yet in this beautiful city. Highly recommend this restaurant and the Manoella red wine. Wish we were staying longer as this place would definately be on the list of places to revisit!
google avatar

Alina A.

Yelp
This was our last meal in Portugal. We had heard good things and tried to come early and were seated inside with the promise of outdoor seats if those seated outside finished. We ordered a bottle of wine from the Douro region from the super knowledgeable waitress, and after half a glass, a spot became available outside. We were moved quickly and our food was brought there (delicious cheeses, mushrooms, bread, and canned spicy tuna). We had a lovely view right over the river and enjoyed the entire sunset there on a beautiful night. It was romantic and great people-watching. There was even a musician playing nice music. I would love to come back here one day!
google avatar

Marilyn C.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. I had come across the Wine Quay Bar on Yelp and pictured it being more off the beaten path than it is. I was pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon it on a walk yesterday. There's a row of outside seats along a wall overlooking the Douro and the bustling crowds. There are some tables inside as well. The prices for glasses of wine were 2.25 euros and up. I tried a nice white wine for 3 euros and really enjoyed it. There were a good number of wines by the glass. I overheard the waitress telling another group that they no longer serve sparkling wine by the glass as it is hard to maintain the quality once the bottle is opened. I can appreciate that. We didn't try any food, but they have at least lighter fare - cheese, bread and olive oil, olives, etc. I noticed the bread and olive oil was 1.50 euros and the olives were a little over a euro. Overall I thought the prices were reasonable, especially considering the location. Our waitress was nice and helpful. Hoping to make it back here before the end of our trip!
google avatar

Chan K.

Yelp
Nice place to have tapas. Enjoy some port wines. Tapas, not that enough quality but considering wine price, reasonable.

Don S.

Yelp
Fun! We are not Port fans so wanted to end the afternoon relaxing with a nice bottle of red. Owner came back with a recommendation after hearing what type we wanted. Chose a medium bodied red from the Douro valley which was excellent. Unfortunately we couldn't get outside seating as it's a great view. But it's a very narrow place so still could see the river from our chairs inside. If you just want to chill and have some wine this place is great.
google avatar

Francesca G.

Yelp
Not being familiar with how to choose vinho verde, we asked our server for a recommendation, and she said the cheapest on the list (10 euros for the bottle!! we aren't used to prices like these or recommendations like these in Paris) would be a great choice. We were so happy to enjoy a beautiful bottle of wine with the amazing view and great service. I would definitely come back here if in Porto again.
google avatar

Claire B.

Yelp
Good wine and food, fantastic views, really friendly people. I bought a bottle of white and rose port from them directly

Olivia P.

Yelp
A great place to enjoy wine and tapas with a view of the river. The service was great, they were very accommodating and even asked us if we wanted to move to a table with a better view. Prices were very reasonable and the staff provided excellent recommendations.

Justin S.

Yelp
First time in Porto, Portugal, we discovered this place on the Douro River. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. Great wines and plates with a wonderful and peaceful view! We returned twice on our visit as was such a lovely experience.

Cathy F.

Yelp
What a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the stunning view of the Douro and Porto lights. The staff are delightful and took good care of us. Lovely tapas such as chorizo, ham, tomato slices, spicy tuna and cheese with great bread. Had some naff experiences at restaurants downstairs on the riverside but hope I can make it back to this bar one day.

D G.

Yelp
Fantastic, serious wine with a view and really yummy snacks as well. The sardines, chorizo, and cheese were all among the best we had in Portugal. They were very patient with our toddler who played behind our window table as we enjoyed a snack and wine in the middle of the afternoon.

L I.

Yelp
Stopped by for a snack, good wine and a great view. It's a little hard to find, you need to walk through the patio of the restaurant next door. It sits above the main area along the river walk. Good selection of wines and tapas. Cash only so don't forget. Reasonable prices as well. Service was prompt and friendly.
google avatar

Nick N.

Yelp
Cute little hole in wall find. A must if you are visiting Porto. An amazing wine selection with serving staff who can help advise this place has the perfect views out over the river and the famous bridge. A super way to spend the evening with good company (once you have the company all you need is the food and the wine and this place provides). I didn't try the food, so can't comment on this but loved the place for the wine and views in any case.
