Another great place to visit. Yes, they have a good wine selection, well-trained staff, great interior design, and maybe one of the best horse steaks I have ever had. So tender and soft, amazing.

We went to Wine Cafe & Shop to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had! Our reservation was for 8 PM, but we arrived early around 7:30 PM. Despite being ahead of schedule, we were warmly welcomed and given the coziest, nicest seating in the restaurant. As tourists unfamiliar with the menu, we asked for recommendations—and we were not disappointed. We were served the chilli rib eye steak, horse steak, and two wines: Montepulciano and Pecorino. We also tried the fried eggplant with chilli and peanuts as a starter, and it was hands down one of the best starters we’ve had in all our food adventures—absolutely delicious! The rib eye steak was next-level. We ordered it medium well, and it was cooked to perfection—so tender and juicy that the knife cut through it like butter. It was easily the best rib eye we’ve ever had. It was also our first time trying horse steak, and we were surprised by how much we loved it! It had a rich, slightly sweet flavor, was incredibly tender, and honestly reminded us of a softer, sweeter beef. We’re now hooked! And what truly made the night unforgettable was the service. The staff were amazing—fast, attentive, and genuinely warm. To top it off, they surprised us with a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to my husband. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. If you’re ever in Almaty, definitely make time to visit this gem. Exceptional food, wonderful wine, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel right at home.

I tried Kazakh wine here with trout fish. The fish was nicely presented but wasn't seasoned very well, and it was bland. Otherwise, the ambiance is nice. The desserts were good, and the lemonade was also nice. It is pricy though.

After 5 days in Almaty with sub standard service, it was great to be in a restaurant that was attentive to the customer. My server (Nigara) was superb and recommended great wines and dishes for me to try. As a preferred vegetarian, it was good to get options that catered to a vegetarian palatte that didnt rely on replacing meat with eggplant. Wines were great too and despite living in wine producing countries and having experimented a lot with wine, i was introduced to some great new options. The baked camambert with berry jam was a standout starter

Usually my first and last stop in Almaty. A great menu with everything from excellent salads, steaks and pasta. Service is always great and has an extensive and well priced wine list.

Absolutely brilliant. Prices are beyond acceptable for the exquisite quality, if anything they are underpriced. The wine list is comprehensive with much variety yet is shadowed by the food menu. The horse meat steak is a personal recommendation and the honey cake for desert. The staff were brilliant switching to English as soon as required and were always professional and polite. 5/5 will visit again for certain.

The perfect place to drink wine in Almaty. The wines are delicious, the foods are tasty, and the ambiance is delightful. The staff is very helpful.

Impressive wine selection, though on the pricier side. We'd love to see an even broader range, especially with more wines from Georgia and Kazakhstan.
