My wife and I have visited this hotel several times for afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed it every time.|This time, though, we decided to stay and it was wonderful. We booked a special, dinner bed and breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. |It's not just the spectacular location, the spacious rooms, or the wonderful food, it's the atmosphere and the staff. From the moment you arrive, they treat you like royalty, they make you feel welcome and appreciated, they make you feel as like a 'guest', including the resident feline house guest, 'Fluffy'!|On arrival, we were given a glass of prosecco, and a cup of tea. We sat by the fire while we waited for our room. All the staff said hello and smiled as they passed by, they asked if we needed anything, if they could carry our 'one' small bag! They held the doors for us, decorated the table (it was our 51st wedding anniversary) they chatted to us, left a personalised welcome note with complimentary crisps, biscuits and chocolate in our room. |Why am I telling you all of this? I like watching Hannah Rickets YouTube channel, check it out she is hilarious! She has been visiting and reviewing, 5 star hotels in London. |One of her latest visits left her bitter, angry and almost in tears. Why? Poor service. She was ignored, treated rudely, and looked down upon by some of the staff and even other guests!|Hannah, if you should ever read this review, please come and visit us here in the Emerald Isle and stay at the Wineport Lodge. It may not be a 5 star multi floor, high rise monstrosity of steel, concrete and glass, but it is exactly what you and most of us 'guests' are looking for when we stay at an hotel, good old fashioned service with a smile!
