"Track Down Terroir in the Casablanca Valley Nestled in a chilly nook of Western Casablanca, Casas del Bosque has become one of the anchor wineries in the coastal region. While the operation has grown from its beginnings in 1993, the focus remains dedicated to showing the varied terroir close to the Pacific with an impressive array of white and red wines, including the outstanding Single Vineyards. Casas del Bosque is well set up to receive visitors on their tours in the winery or picnicking from their scenic lookout over the valley. You can also try the restaurant, Tanino, which is delightful alfresco during warm weather. Best of all, it's only 45 minutes from Valparaíso or Santiago , making it an ideal day trip. Highly recommend visiting this winery when you are in the area, definitely was on the busier side but very much worth it. The property was gorgeous and we went on a tour where we learned a lot about the wine in this region. Before the tour we were able to eat lunch at the restaurant, I would recommend getting a reservation, we were lucky to sit down and eat without one. Food was top notch!! A must visit!

Excellent visit on December 23, 2024. We were in our private tour to Valparaiso, so we joined the 10:30 aromas tour. Our guide Matthias was very knowledgeable (we have done several wine tours in California, Oregon, Burgundy and Tuscany). The four wines we had were Botanic Sauvignon Blanc, Botanic Chardonnay, Pequenas Pinot Noir (best for my palate), and Pequenas Syrah. Wish they had provided some cheese and crackers to nibble on as this was relatively early in the morning. I had not heard of this winery, but came away impressed by their efforts.

I did the Casa Mirador experience which included a vineyard tour and it was amazing. The staff are wonderful, the setting is idyllic and wine and food exquisite. They also kindly arranged transport for me as I’d travelled by taxi from Valparaiso. Totally worth doing for a fabulous day of food and wine.

A beautiful winery! I really enjoyed the fascinating tour by Alejandro, the great wine, and the beautiful gardens. Highly recommended!

Google
Lovely welcome by the staff and very informative ‘aromas’ tour by Chris. I particularly liked seeing the substrata of the soil where a vine had been exposed to illustrate it. The use of concrete and other storage vessels to influence the final wines is fascinating. The 4 wines were delicious. Muchas Gracias!

Google
while we enjoyed the tour and wine, it was a jooourneey getting there. the winery itself offered not help. not over mails we send to ask beforehand how to get into town. nor when we were stuck on the highway out of town because our bus driver didn’t stop, reaching out viva mails as well as their whatsapp number posted on the webpage, but getting no reply. all that even though it’s locals who work there who def know much better than we do how to get around. so sad to say, the hourlong journey wasn’t worth the 1 hrs tasking

We had lunch here yesterday. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. The winery and restaurant are gorgeous, the service was impeccable and friendly, the food was delicious, the wines were well matched and presented, and we thought the value was pretty good. So we recommend it!

Yelp
Amazing ambiance- lunch among the vineyards in this winery located in Casablanca, Chile. There were 2 restaurants on this property, and we went to Botanico. Food was excellent - started with zucchini chips and onion focaccia. The main courses were the garden salad (organic vegetables from their garden), burrata and prosciutto pizza, pesto fettuccine- delicious Italian fare. Topped it off with a glass of Chardonnay from their vineyard. I wish I would have spent more time in this vineyard and next time I'll try the tour and wine tasting.

Yelp
The food was amazing! The Sevice friendly , but slow and once it got busy, we were forgotten. Only reason for a star less. The outside and indoor ambiance was modern / charming. I would still recommend and come back again - because we would have loved to try the mains we ordered, but had to leave after waiting over an hour past our appetizers. Just make a note of your time is my recommendation.

Yelp
We came in for lunch. We had a reservation and asked to be seated outside but were told that wasn't possible. The staff was very nice but you could tell they were short handed. Our server had many tables she was serving. We were a party of five. One in our group did the tasting menu. He loved it. But the two hours it took for him to go through the five courses was a bit much. All went back to being short handed. I ordered a filet and requested it to be cooked medium rare. It came out well done. The flavor was very good but very overdone. The winery itself is beautiful and I could imagine you could have a wonderful dining experience here. Ours just wasn't it. There is a beautiful wine shop and you can do a tour. There are also bikes you can rent. I honestly think we just hit them on a bad day. I would definitely go back and give them another try.

Yelp
One of my favorite¡Una experiencia inolvidable en Casa del Bosque! Yelp
Such an incredible experience. The restaurant has divine food and divine wine. We were debating not going on a wine tour but are SO glad we did, definitely one of the main highlights of our trip to Chile. We wound up buying a case of wines to bring back. The Sauvignon Blanc and Carmenere were our favorites, we cannot wait to go back! I also recommend doing the Chef's tasting menu at the restaurant, it was unbelievable and a great way to try different wines.

Yelp
Beautiful space, and to think we almost overlooked Chilean wine country. Note: if you are driving from Santiago to Valparaiso, the Casablanca wine region is right off the road and absolutely breathtaking. Casas del Bosque was perfect in every way after roughing it in Torres del Paine for 5 days. Food was delicious (I mean Burrata!!) and the wine was great/ reasonably priced. Tip: if you are planning to take bottles to go, it is significantly cheaper to order from the store vs your server if you are seated (everything is marked up, presumably corkage by about 3000-5000 Chilean pesos, so $5 to $7). So glad we stopped, not one to miss!

Yelp
Classy, large, ample parking, beautiful views, comfortable location. Wow, this place was amazing. It's just off the highway, very accessible. After checking in at the gate, parking was easy, as we were directed. Once we walked up, I noticed many details. The driveway was covered with some unique organic chips (maybe old corks?). There was a small area with tables, chairs, umbrellas, and a playground for relaxing (right by the vineyards). Then in the main building was a restaurant (which you may need reservations too) that looked clean and classy with indoor and outdoor seating. There were couch seating areas outside as well which is where we took a seat and ordered some water, wine, and dessert. Had a chocolate dessert that was paired with some ice cream. It was difficult to explain and exquisitely done. Once we finished here we went to our wine tasting that was done in a separate room. Tastings are done by language. So we were seated with an international group. USA, UK, and Australia. The tasting not only gave us the history of the winery but also discussed at length how to taste the wines. What to look for, the colors to look at, the legs, and the variances between wines and types of grapes. I loved the level of depth that goes into wine tastings here. It seems to be common to get in-depth information about how to taste in Chile versus wineries I have been to in the United States. There was also a shop to purchase wines and knick-knacks as well as lots of walking areas. There were also bicycles that could be checked out so that you could ride around the vineyards. Very neat idea.

Yelp
Great experience in Vina Casas del Bosque. I really enjoyed wine tasting here, it was a great experience. Wine tasting is very different from the ones I have been to prior to this. We had made the reservation beforehand and got a personal, dedicated staff who walked with us throughout and explained the whole process. It started with watching a documentary in their theatre room. Our English speaking tour guide explained the types of grapes used and the various steps involved in wine making. The tour lasted about 45 minutes and was followed by a sample of five wines. All were great. The winery is about an hour by car from Santiago.

Yelp
My family and I came and visited in September which is clearly the off season. When we arrived around 1230 pm, we noticed there weren't many people there. The grounds and the buildings were beautiful and manicured very well. Just that morning we had called and made reservations for a "private tour" which was 24.000 per person. There were three of us. Our tour guide was Enzo and he was great! We got to taste 5 wines, accompanied by a good cheese plate, and toured the winery. If we come back to Chile, we will definitely come back! It would be great to see the vines in bloom.
