My husband, young child, and I checked in at roughly 3:50pm and had documented the unacceptable state of the room and proceeded to speak with the front desk around 4:47pm. We had checked in, used the toilet, and been so thoroughly concerned about the condition of the room that we brought it to the attention of staff as soon as possible. The duvet was stained, there were stains and marks on the walls, the wall near the safety latch was damaged, and the bathroom was filthy. The grout was various shades of gray and black and visible mold/mildew was in and around the tub. The most concerning part was what appeared to be blood splattered on the ceiling and wall of the bathroom. Upon voicing our concerns and attempting to show the photos to the front desk worker, we were told we could not be transferred to another room and that no housekeeping staff was present, so the room in question couldn't be cleaned until possibly the next day. We were effectively told "to take it or leave it" and chose to check out due to safety concerns.
My husband emailed the photos of the state of the room to the supposed manager the evening this all took place, and we have heard nothing back. Someone reached out to me via Booking.com, stating I was refunded the cost of the second night of the stay, but no such refund has been reflected in my account. Also, refusal to refund the first night, when we had only spent 1 hour (at most) on the premises is insulting at this juncture.
Update as of 10/24: I have still not received any refund, resolution, or even further correspondence from anyone at or affiliated with this property.
