Wings & Water (Te Anau)

We could wax lyrical about the service, the pilot (Kylie) the dogs (!) the shiny new (clean) aircraft and the brilliant views. Let’s just say this. We took the morning fly and cruise combo. We lucked out with the weather, I got to co-pilot (lucky!!). The boat ride back was awesome (again, new, clean RIB, comfy seats, great crew). We trekked around the hidden lakes, saw heaps and bombed back to Te Anau with stunning views behind us. It was so good, we booked an evening 40 minute flight to Doubtful Sound. Brilliant. Don’t think about it: do it! Bucket list stuff.

This was undeniably our best experience in New Zealand. We did it all: boats, helicopters, mountain tops…. everything on the NZ bucket list. But Wings and Water was by far the most convenient and impressive way to experience Fjordland. The entire experience was easy and was the best views of the region. We were completely blown away by the scenery and we loved that it right in the center of Te Anau. Ivan and his wife were very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic trip. Awesome plane, pilot and views. Ivan flew us into Doubtful Sound, where we spent four days in a hut. He was able to get all our gear into the plane!! Beautiful scenery. Flights in and out were one of our highlights of our trip and I would definitely recommend as a must do while in Te Anau. Thanks Ivan and team. Very easy enjoyable experience!

It was an absolutely perfect experience. Since I couldn’t visit Milford Sound due to the weather, I made a last-minute booking with Wings and Water for a Doubtful Sound scenic flight. The tour was 40 minutes long, and within that time I was able to see the Sound itself along with several lakes, waterfalls, and peaks. The pilot was truly skilled—flying very smoothly while also giving us detailed explanations, which made the whole trip incredibly worthwhile. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to see the Sound in a short but impactful way. To book, the fastest way is to call immediately. We flew twice about a week ago. It was such a pleasant experience even for me who is scared of flying. Our pilot had 35+ years of experience and I felt super safe flying with him. The view from the plane is amazing we would definitely recommend. To book a flight we just walked to the dock and waited on the bench hoping for them to be back soon, which they were :)

Another bucket list experience ticked off the list! My mum and I booked a mystery flight on the spur of the moment and Ivan was able to fit us in on the spot! Ivan was an excellent pilot who made us feel safe, comfortable and kept us laughing. The flight itself was breathtaking we saw hidden lakes, passed through a mountain pass and stopped at a mystery beach where we saw wild kiwi prints! Truly an unforgettable experience with amazing value! Thanks team, would 100% recommend 😁✈️🌊🏔️

My son and I booked a flight at short notice on a whim, mainly as neither of us had ever flown in a seaplane before. What a wonderful experience. Kylie made us feel totally secure and gave us a most enjoyable flight, including great commentary. Brilliant experience. Kylie is a great pilot, made us all feel safe and is absolutely full of knowledge about the area. We went to dusky and doubtful Sounds, and even had a landing half way. An absolute highlight of our visit to NZ. Highly recommended.
