Wink @ Mosque Street

First of all, one has to walk barefoot inside, which includes the toilets. You can imagine how that looks in the men's toilets. Second, the breakfast is complete crap. Basically just sugar. Very sweet cereal or toast with sweet spreads. The kitchen is way too small, so there is no place to sit, and the food is actually rarely there! Eithere there is cereal and no milk, or there is milk but no cereal. Or there is none. The reception guy is walking past and even making himself toast, while he can clearly see that the other food is completely gone, but he doesn't make sure to bring more (at least not in a reasonable time). First night the rooms were hot, second night they were ok, but there is always a very loud and strong ventilator blowing right in front of the cells. It's impossible to sleep without earplugs. And as a cherry on the top, the curtain of our cell could not be completely closed and one could see into our cell from the entrance. Great effort guys... All you need is a little extra fabric to fix this.

The double bed in the shared room was very comfortable. There was space on the sides of the bed to leave your personal belongings, as well as a lamp and a power outlet. The bathroom was comfortable, new, and fairly clean. The breakfast was basic, but okay. The problem is that the room is very dark and the bathroom was on the upper floor, quite far away. During our stay at the hotel, we felt very uncomfortable with one of the employees, a young man with round glasses whom we believe is part of the cleaning staff. Every time we crossed paths with him, he would stare fixedly at my friend and me, maintaining eye contact until we disappeared, without moving. It felt quite uncomfortable and hostile. On the last day, we asked him if everything was okay, and he immediately looked away and left. One time, while we were in the kitchen, he came over next to us to get something from a cupboard, looked at us, and slammed the door shut. It was scary.

Nice hostel. I found it very quiet. I liked the simple free breakfast. Shower pressure was good and bathrooms were clean. Rooms were quite and the sleeping pods were a good size and air conditioned. If your goal is to make friends then this isn't really the hostel for that as the only common area is the kitchen and it isn't huge.

I stayed here five nights. I had asked for a lower capsule when I booked but they ignored my request and put me in an upper level one. I'm getting on in years and it was a slightly terrifying climb up and down. Everything else was great, however. The capsule was very roomy and clean, with a comfortable matress. The room and kitchen area were air conditioned although the bathroom and workspace on the stairs were not, which made things a bit sticky! Location is fantastic, right in Chinatown, with the People's Park opposite and Chinatown Compex nearby. There are plenty of places to eat and a great coffee shop (Muro) at the far end of the street. Wifi worked well throughout my stay.

Great central location - I would stay again. Team was nice, breakfast was simple, bathrooms were spacious and clean. Temperature control at night was tricky as the bed curtains block the air conditioning. Next time I will bring a small fan. Also bring ear plugs as the beeping from all the lockers and doors adds up!

Great location, cosy pod, but only when the a,/c is working properly. Disappointed.that the laundry wasn't available but there is one near by. The breakfast was adequate and it was lovely to have access to a kitchen. initially I thought there weren't enough toilet facilities and it was frustrating they were a bit far away but actually they were fine. Some outdoor space would make it more pleasant but Mosque street is interesting and the area good. Singapore is expensive so this was a useful resource

This hotel is very cost-effective. The clerk is very friendly and patient. I have had a good time staying for four days and three nights. If you have a limited budget, you can stay in this hotel.

Just like Singapore, there is diversity about this hostel. Address is Mosque street, location is in Chinatown and next to the small masjid there is an Indian temple. There are 2 MRT Exits nearby. (Chinatown) But another MRT line is also accessible through Maxwell station. Across from that station there is Maxwell foodcourt. If you want strictly vegetarian, go to the basement floor of the Chinese temple. Staff members work very hard as this is a very popular busy hostel. Zayaa and manager David are always helpful with any questions you may have. Light breakfast provided in the mornng. If does not work for you, there is a food court and McDonalds few minutes away.
