10 Best Local Eats in Amsterdam | Condé Nast Traveler

"While the apple pie is an aside on the menu (albeit one with a smiley), no one comes for anything else and Winkel 43 serves as many as 1,000 slices per day. Dainty isn’t the word for these pies, but spooning through the cool whipped cream, breaking through the thick pastry, and navigating the tower of warm, cinnamon-spiked apples beneath (way less saccharine than the US version) is pure bliss. Be prepared to come early, visit late (it’s open until 3 a.m. on weekends), or wait." - Clodagh Kinsella

Google
It is immensely hyped and the line was a bit long but it is 100% worth it. This isn't traditional American apple pie and that's a good thing. The apple pie here is without a DOUBT the best I've ever had. The atmosphere and service was fantastic so it made the entire experience wonderful. I just wish I had time to go back!

Google
There is a strange and famous item not included in the menu. The Apple Pie with or without whipping cream is not listed on the menu. The Apple Pie is not very sweet and has a cookie crush and the large dice of apple inside. But you can order without any problem. The Flat White is nicely prepared. The Club sandwich is full of finely chopped vegetables and refreshing. This is a very nice home style restaurant around the corner of a community.

Google
Very nice apple pie, I never seen such a big apple pie in other cafe, this one was truly delicious. And they have a lot of seats too! The girl who took our order was polite and helpful

Google
I think the apple pie went viral on TikTok and that’s why it’s so popular, but for good reason! We also had some soups and appetizers. The bitterballen was good and the apple pie with whipped cream also delicious, with a strong cinnamon flavor. I got the lentil soup and liked it a lot

Looking to try the real Amsterdam apple pie? This is the place! Juicy, fragrant, with a crispy crust — their pie is legendary. Cozy atmosphere, fast and friendly service. A perfect spot for a local-style coffee break!

Google
Was here for apple pie and it met our expectation. The pie was full of apple! Not too sweet, with a note of cinnamon. Well balanced with cream on top. Another special drink surprised me was the mint tea. They put fresh mint in hot water and pairing it with honey. Surprisingly tasted nice. Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

I love the crispy biscuit base with cinnamon flavour 🍪 It is definitely the best choice for afternoon tea! The best apple pie i have ever tried!

Google
4.5/5 The most famous apple pie in the Netherlands, yet unlike some trendy restaurants that are all hype, this place is genuinely popular for a reason. However, the pie truly stands out and is worth revisiting. The apple pie is delicious and generous in portion. The crust, rich in butter, is as crispy as a butter cookie. The filling is packed with thick, large chunks of apple, though the flavor is a bit mild. Overall, I personally wouldn’t call it legendary, but it’s definitely very tasty.

Yelp
This place is legendary and it's for a reason. It is one of the best Apple based desserts that you will ever have in your entire life and include some of the best people watching that you can have in Amsterdam. There is some outdoor seating and some limited places indoors and it really is the perfect spot to take a break as you're exploring the city in the warmer months however, they do have some covers for when it does rain and get colder. The service is what you would expect for a European place so Americans, please be aware that you can sit down and enjoy your tart in peace.

Yelp
Seeing this spot all over the recs, we have to give it a go. It was very crowded so worth splitting the group up so someone looks for a spot and another waits in line. When ordering, you'll be given the pie immediately but will get a number for the sandwiches and drinks. Known for their apple pie. It was pretty good overall, not much like the American pies we have at home. The crust and pie part is much thicker and the apple is in larger chunks. The whipped cream was really good. My friends got the cheese sandwiches and thought the flavor was a little muted (just straight up cheese), but it's served with ketchup.

Yelp
My family and I went on a Sat night. We sat at an open table outside. Waited 15min for the waitress. No one took our order. We go inside to ask to order. Was told they'll take our order outside. Still no one came, but others who sat after us ordered and got their meals, except the Asian couple next to us who was there waaay before us and verbally said they were being ignored. A family next to us had had it and were trying to leave but were stopped to pay. Went inside again. Found the waitress eating nachos at the bar. She rudely dismissed me and told Me to go order outside. At this point we were sharing our table with another couple, who they then helped while I sat there, but I reminded them I was there 1st and the waiter left. Couple moved to the next table over and they were immediately helped. I sat another 20min. Asked for help from another waiter. He Took my order to the previous rude waitress and she came to clean my table. Said nothing and left. At this point all others who arrived after me ate and left. The Asian people next to Me were still there trying to pay their bill. Didn't get to try their infamous apple pie. We went to Papaneiland Cafe for their apple pie - delicious and awesome customer service and ambience. DON'TGO HERE - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO BETTER WINKEL 43.

Yelp
We stopped by to try out this famous apple pie from this bar. Walk in welcome and plenty of seats indoor and outdoor. The waitress recommended a draft beer which is surprisingly good. I forgot the name but it had a flavor of rose! Very good! I don't drink beer usually but I'd give this a 5/5. Meanwhile the famous apple pie is way over rated. I would come back for the beer, but the pie is not worth a visit in my opinion. Its crust is too thick and dry and the flavor is lacking. Not much apple or any flavor at all. Just pure sweetness. 1/5 star

Yelp
Went here because of all of the high reviews.... And... the pie was fantastic! It's all in the crust, savor the big crust bits. Definitely stop in, and it's worth a wait if you have to. However... the bathroom for the women was a disaster and it's very close to the kitchen which was a little unsettling.

Yelp
Came up as a spot for Dutch apple pie so we walked over after dinner to try it. Place was fairly busy but service was quick and efficient. We sat outside at one of many tables and ordered. Love the crust around the apples.
google avatar

Emma J.

Yelp
We went here for the apple pie and it did not disappoint! We also got an Irish coffee and an iced chai, but the chai didn't taste like anything and the Irish coffee was mainly whipped cream.
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
Thought the pie here was good but I definitely agree with the other people that the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Small bar, was crowded and we definitely had to wait a bit. We only got pie and coffee so I can't speak to the other food, the other people at our communal table ordered bitterballen (looked generic) and a plate of nachos that looked absolutely terrible. Come for the pie.

Yelp
This famous cafe is home to the even more famous apple pie, which was good but not as mind-blowing as I assumed it would be. Seating is available inside and out and the staff are friendly - if not a little swarmed but all the hungry patrons. Also, I definitely recommend going somewhere else to use the restroom. The stairs to the floor below are a bit scary and the bathroom even more so. I did think the cafe itself held a certain charm, especially because when was the last time you saw a dumb waiter lift opening and containing sandwiches and massive apple pies? Awesome!
google avatar

Yelp
I had a really good experience here. Was able to grab a seat without a long line. And the server was quick to take our order. It takes a while to get the food and check but that's usually normal in this country. The apple pie was awesome! Lives up to its reputation....Though I was not a fan of the crust (hard and too thick), I loved how the pie was not too sweet at all....just the right amount. Definitely a place to visit in Amsterdam!

Yelp
Winkel 43 is famous for their apple pie(5 Euros per Slice). I had to try it and it was amazing. The apple pie is huge and delicious. I also got a cup of cappuccino with it and it was a match made in heaven. The apple pie was the best thing I ate during my trip to Amsterdam. It was the best slice of apple pie I've ever eaten in my life. You definitely have to grab a slice of this apple pie when you're in Amsterdam. It's the number one recommendation from me.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visits here. I ended up grabbing apple pie on 3 separate occasions during my stay in the area. It was perfect with my flat white. Staff was friendly every visit. The stop is definitely worth it.

Yelp
If you're a fan of Apple pies, then you have to make a stop at Winkel in Amsterdam! They serve some of the thickest slices I've ever seen so come with friends or a big appetite. When we arrived, it was a little confusing where to go for to-go orders. The workers were telling us different things for ordering so it was kind of hectic in the beginning. But I think the way it works is everyone lines up outside, across the street from the entrance. There's actually no lining up in the store or at the door since it'll block the servers. Then a worker comes and sorts through the groups, separating dine-in and take-out. One slice is big enough for about 2-3 people. The apples were large slices instead of diced pieces. And the majority of the pie is apples but the crust was my favorite because of the crumbly and crunchy textures. Each order also comes with a small cup of whipped cream and I wish they gave more to go with the pie. If you want an entire pie, you have to order ahead of time! They also do not take Amex credit cards.

Yelp
Unbelievably, I have somehow yet to write a review for Winkel 43 despite coming here four times within the span of two years. But my review is basically going to be the same as everyone else's, because the reason we are all coming here is for Winkel 43's famous apple pie. Truly, their apple pie is as glorious as everyone says it is. It is thick, loaded with sweet apple chunks, and complemented by minimal batter and whipped cream. And it is super affordable, like everything else in Amsterdam seems to be. They do have other food, although I've only ever had the bitterballen. They are, in fact, pretty good. The menu is only available at certain times though. So if you're coming late, they only have apple pie and coffee. Staff here are really friendly! Every time I have been here, they have been nothing but kind and courteous to me. If you're in Amsterdam and you don't stop by Winkel 43 at least once, you are doing yourself a great disservice. Absolutely amazing!

Yelp
I'd heard so much hype about Winkel 43 and their famous apple pie, so even though I'm not big on sweets, I decided to give it a try. Honestly, it was better than other apple pies I've had--just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. Funny enough, my fiancé, who does love apple pies, didn't enjoy it as much as I did, so I guess it's hit or miss depending on your taste. That said, I'm not sure I'd wait that long again; we stood in line for over half an hour. The cafe itself is pretty small, and the line moved surprisingly slowly considering almost everyone is just ordering the apple pie. When we finally got a seat inside (luckily, since it was chilly out), I noticed a lot of tables hadn't been cleared for at least 15 minutes, which didn't help with the wait. The bathroom was also not in great shape. If you're curious about the apple pie, it's worth a try, but I'd only go if the line's short.
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
The reviews here are all the same so I'll keep it short. I came for the Apple cake. I was alone on a rainy night so I snagged the last seat at the bar. Got my cake with whipped cream and was done and out in 11 minutes. They gave me tap water with it which was nice. In my short time at the bar they went through almost 30 slices of apple cake. I inhaled mine because it was so good. Moist and packed with cinnamon apples and flavor. Loved it.

Yelp
Apple Pie at Winkel 43 is a must. We split a slice of pie and were lucky to grab a seat right outside in the front of the restaurant (it was slammed). I also had a beer and my husband had a latte. The apple pie was so tasty, we demolished it.
google avatar

Kay H.

Yelp
Pros: easy ordering bc there is only apple pie and drinks Cons: our male waiter was a little cold; the female was great We split a piece of pie -really tasty. It's not like American Dutch apple. The crust is like a hard cookie/cake. Very delicious and I loved the mound of whipped cream. Such an iconic stop for an alfresco afternoon treat!

Yelp
We visited Winkel 43 in Amsterdam on Saturday, June 28th, arriving around 9:30 PM. My family waited 20-30 minutes at a dirty outdoor table that was never cleaned. For the next 45 minutes, we watched every non-Asian table around us get served while our table -- and two others with Asian customers -- remained ignored. When a new couple was seated at our table, we told the blonde waitress (who was covering the outdoor section) that we'd been waiting nearly an hour. She said nothing and walked away. The awkwardness was heavy. We eventually left -- only to see the staff immediately clean the table and begin serving the new couple while the other Asian tables continued to wait. This wasn't just bad service -- it felt like discrimination via selective service. The entire staff outside was cold and dismissive. If you're Asian -- or simply care about racial fairness -- avoid Winkel 43. Amsterdam is better than this. They weren't, shame on ya'll.

Yelp
I was really excited to try Winkel 43 since it had such great reviews (mostly for their apple pie). I came in late on a weeknight and they were pretty busy - I had to wait around 15 minutes for a seat at the bar. I ordered the pie as well as a hot chocolate and found both underwhelming - the pie was more doughy than I would have liked and I'm pretty sure the hot cocoa was just a powdered mix. Probably would skip next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Mac M.

Yelp
What can I say? We went for the apple pie. It was delicious and perfect. They had an orderly line and move people through efficiently. We sat outside in the plaza across from the restaurant.
google avatar

Marie B.

Yelp
Had to try Winkle 43 famous Dutch apple pie, so made a beeline. There was a line to get in, so we waited about 20 minutes to be seated outside. The wait for an indoor table was a much longer wait we were told. The pie was delicious, perfect apple to crust ratio. The crust had a great flavor. Highly recommend a slice of pie at Winkle 43.
google avatar

Sally W.

Yelp
Apple pie( more like apple bread) Hot chocolate is really hot cocoa not hot chocolate milk Its good but then the place is really packed. Service is not the greatest... soccer season pol just come in n stand to watch the game... service is even worst aka no service Rest rooms r downstairs n its tight n dirty...
google avatar

Matt D.

Yelp
By far the best Apple pie you will ever experience, it's just perfect. Not too sweet, cinnamon and apples baked to perfection with a crust that you couldn't ignore! They also have great chai tea here and if for whatever insane reason you skip the apple pie their grilled cheese with choice of young or aged cheese is also habit forming.

Jessica J.

Yelp
Was staying close by, and walked past this place and saw everyone with apple pie. Didn't know that apparently this is the place to go. Came back the next day to try it out. It didn't disappoint, the crust was flaky and it tasted so fresh. The cream that was on top was delicious. My mom loved it so much, we came back the next day. Can't speak about the other food or drinks. Everyone around us, was also just eating the apple pie.
google avatar

Ray B.

Yelp
This place is something straight out of heaven. I have attempted to replicate their apple cake recipe many times but to no avail. If there is one thing that I would suggest anyone visiting the Amsterdam/Holland area do, it is to visit Winkel 43. The Apple cake is so delicious that I can't remember what else is on the menu. BB
google avatar

Emily W.

Yelp
Long line to be seated. Shorter line to get take-out. Employees were very friendly and patient despite the confusion going on with people waiting to be seated inside and people waiting for take-out. For take-out, they take your order by the outdoor tables. We waited about 10 mins for our apple pies. The 3 of us shared two slices and it was a good amount. Loved the warm pies with cool whipped cream! Tasted very fresh and not overly sweet! Also loved the crunchy bits of the crust with the soft pie interior. Would come back again.

Yelp
I didn't really understand why my friend wanted to come here and I also couldn't understand why people were lining up outside. After listening to the chatter in line, I found that social media appears to be blowing up over this restaurants' "Dutch apple pie". Still, I didn't really see what the hype was over just for pie. One tip is that if you are getting take out, you do not have to line up outside. Just go in the side door and order your takeout. The line is for people who actually want to sit and eat. This is a relatively small restaurant and it is also very busy due to the hubbub over the pie so you could be waiting a while to get a sit-down table. One thing I also noticed, once we were seated, is that people tend to linger around after eating which holds up the rotation of tables. Most of the patrons were tourists who only came for pie. If there are locals they seem to take takeout possibly so that they don't have to sit around with the obvious population of tourists inside and standing in line. I'd say be courteous, catch the vibe or whatever, take your photos and head out. We actually ordered food, drinks, and then the pie. I ordered a dumpling soup which actually was surprising clean tasting and had just the right amount of saltiness and was comforting. I truly enjoyed the soup and dumplings. My friend got the risotto balls. After a few drinks we decided to tackle the pie. I will admit, the visual was underwhelming. The pie was cold and did not seem fresh. It also was not an entire wedge. It's like someone cut a circle in the middle of the pie and made the edges blunt of the non-crust portion of the pie. Also, something just doesn't sit right with me and cool/cold pie. I also didn't understand the "vibe" in the restaurant. It seemed like they were playing music from the 60/70's but nothing about the interior gives off that era. The restaurant is giving...tourist trap...which is fortunately unfortunate since the actual food and drinks were decent and reasonably priced.

Yelp
This place is famous as their apple pie! I know I saw the travel guide book, it said so good "you should try it!" Well, when I and my husband came to Amsterdam, one of the list was eating Dutch apple pie but this place was little far from we stayed and where we went. Well, final night at Amsterdam, the restaurant where we had dinner was very disappointed service but we were in a "apple pie mode". So, we decided to visit here. This place is very cozy place. When we got here, it was almost 22:00 but this place was so busy. Two ladies in a counter offered to us to sit the counter seats. It was very narrow space but one of the lady moved cups and some stuff on the counter and made us space. She had nice smile and asked us what we'd like to order. We asked one apple pie and two coffee. Shortly apple pie came (we were asked with whip or not, of course yes!), wow it was huge slice! Apple filling was big chunky and tasty, and crust was thick. We love it! It was crowded so after we finished pie and coffee, we asked check and left. I asked my husband how much was the apple pie. My husband said free. No way!? But he said the lady said if you order the drink, pie is free. OMG!! What a good deal! Well, just after we got inside, two guys came and sit next to us. They ordered an apple pie and shared. My husband said they paid for pie almost same cost for our two coffee. Lol!!

Yelp
Do I recommend? A 100 times, yes. The tart was perfect. My wife who normally doesn't like apple pie, loved this tart. When they ask you "with or without cream" , say yes to the crème!

Yelp
A trip to Amsterdam is not complete without getting some apple pie from Winkel 43. We trekked halfway across Amsterdam by foot to get to this joint. Since the city is very safe, we walked with our two children after 10 pm and felt perfectly fine. Also got beautiful views of the canals at night. On the outside the place looks very unassuming, just another corner bar and restaurant. Since it was late, there were no lines. However all the tables were taken, but there were plenty of bar seating. We took our seats and told the waitress we were here for the apple pie. Since we looked totally like American tourists, she said she figured that's what we were there for. It came out in a quickly since there was already a whole pie sitting on the counter waiting to be sliced. We were told they bake 120 pies a day and sells all of them. It was totally worth the effort. The best part of the pie was the crust. It's almost like a cookie crumb crust, thick and delicious. The filling was tasty without being cloyingly sweet. My wife, who usually doesn't like sweet American desserts, asked for a second slice. It was that good. Winkel 43 totally deserves their reputation for having a great Amsterdam (I'm not going to say Dutch because that means something else in America) apple pie.

Yelp
BEST APPEL TART IN AMSTERDAM!! Amazing and I wish I had more! There is indoor and outdoor seating but there was no more indoor so I sat outside! It wasn't too bad, a little rainy but the appel tart was so worth it! You order at your table when the server comes by and they're so friendly and nice! The appel tart was so good. It was warm, spiced, and had the perfect crust! Was not too sweet! This was my last meal in Amsterdam and I am so happy I walked to get it! Open late so you can get your appel tart fix after a night out!!

Yelp
If you are looking for dutch apple pie this is the place to go! I happed to walk on by & decided to give this place a try & I am happy I did! Be prepared to wait in a line at certain times as this is a popular destination for locals & tourists alike. After about 10 or so minutes we were seated in the back corner of the cafe. The server came over promptly & took our order. We ordered 2 apple pies, 1 hot chocolate & a cappuccino. The food & drinks came out quickly & we were very satisfied with the everything! Will definitely stop by again if I happen to be back in Amsterdam!

Yelp
Two words, APPLE PIE! It's why I came here. Didn't even look at the menu. Came for the best apple pie ever, had it along with a glass of water and left. A little bit of a wait / line to get in, but honestly moved along quickly. Waitress was efficient and friendly. The Apple Pie and cream was amazing. So good. Worth coming and waiting in line. Inside is dark and intimate, perfect for a date night.
google avatar

Amy W.

Yelp
Great hot meal to enjoy on a visit to cold Amsterdam! I came alone and sat at the bar. The interior is small but cozy. Staff was so kind and provided me an extra bitterballen! And the pie lives up to the hype!
google avatar

Annie S.

Yelp
We had to try the popular apple pie which was delicious. It has huge chunks of apples and comes with whipped cream on top. The crust is very good. Be prepared to wait in line which can take awhile as there is not a lot of seating inside and people take their time at the tables. They also have alcohol and other food items. Bathroom available.
google avatar

Katherine G.

Yelp
I came here for the famous apple pie, and obtained the apple pie. We came on a dark and early morning before many of the other spots were even open. When we arrived, there were already a good number of people inside, but I guess that's what you see when there aren't any other places open at this hour. We were seated promptly, though service moved at a slightly slower pace than I'm used to. Nonetheless, we got a slice of the apple pie which came out super fast. It unfortunately wasn't warm, but was still delicious. The crust was crunchy and thick, and the apple filling was nicely soft and flavorful without being too sweet. It really made a delicious pie. I would highly recommend trying it, and then checking out the noodermarkt outside!
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
Come early or during off peak hours if you can! When I got there this morning for breakfast, there were plenty of tables but by the time I left it was a packed house with a wait! I opted for their breakfast special, which includes a bacon, cheese, and egg sandwich with your choice of juice and a coffee or tea. It sounds really simple, but the sandwich was quite tasty. Egg was a bit runny and bacon was crispy. Cheese melted nicely as well. The OJ was freshly squeezed. I had to end the meal with a slice of their famous apple pie. It was nice and thick with tons of apples in the center. As I got towards the end, I stopped eating a lot of the crust and focused more on the apples. I enjoyed my pie with my cappuccino and was ready to start the day! Def recommend. The waiters were like a well oiled machine. The 3 of them held it down with a packed house. Kudos to them!

Yelp
Loved the apple pie and fresh ginger tea. Highly recommend for any that is visiting Amsterdam. The service is great as well and you can choose indoor or outdoor seating.

Yelp
Everyone talks about the apple pie from Winkel 43! When multiple people tell you to come here including locals, I knew I had to stop by to try it even though I'm not much of an apple pie person. There's a line out the door, but it does go by quickly! Once you're up, simply say how many apple pie slices you want and any drink orders. They have all the Apple pies lined up as they put on some whip cream right before you order. We got one to share with a latte, which helps balance the sweetness. There's also plenty of seating inside and outside. Since you're only here for Apple pie, the turnaround time is quick. So the Apple pie itself is yummy. I liked the crust the most, which was crunchy like a cookie. The apple slices are tender and I can definitely see why this place gets the hype. Good apple pie and a place you should try once in your lifetime.
google avatar

Gerald N.

Yelp
Came late weeknight and there was seating inside. No reservations in general. They have outdoor seating also. Service can be a tad slow but because there's limited workers. Solid apple pie for all the hype. Main thing is that it is not sugary and the crust is crunchy. Overall very good and worth visiting to see the hype.
google avatar

Olivia K.

Yelp
When my friends and I walked over to the store, we were thankfully immediately seated inside. It was very busy inside and outside. The employees were serving food in a very speedy manner. Despite that, there was a line forming outside to both take out and sit down despite the rain. We had eaten lunch prior and came solely for their famous apple pie dessert. Since it was a cold rainy day out, we also all opted to order a warm cup of coffee or tea. I personally got a cup of English breakfast tea. The warm unsweetened tea drink with the slightly sweet apple pie was a perfect combination. As for the apple pie itself, it's so good! It turned my friend and I who aren't normally huge apple pie fans into a Winkel apple pie fan. I get the hype behind this dessert. The crust is super crunchy. The inside has a hint of sweetness and not too heavy on the cinnamon, which I like. The apple pieces meshed well with the soft bread inside. The whipped cream was also surprisingly the star of the dish as well. Each bite with whipped cream and pie was amazing! It's probably one of the best whipped creams I've had.

Yelp
A very excellent and very busy spot in Amsterdam! It's gotten quite famous with tourists so you can expect lines out the door for "Amsterdam's Best Apple Pie". Luckily the lines go quick and if the weather is nice enough, there is lots of seating outdoors (and lots of seagulls poaching your meal). The Apple Pie is indeed very good. Moist apple filling with a delicious crust, paired with a heap of fresh whipped cream. Surprisingly though, the stand out for us was the crispy salmon brioche that we ordered off the lunch menu. Deep fried salmon chunks with dill aioli and crunchy pickles. In fact, my husband enjoyed it even more than the apple pie and believed it was his favourite meal of our entire vacation! Service is friendly and efficient, they are able to manage the huge crowds and move everyone along quickly. I even saw them tell a group that was trying to cut the line to go back and line up, which is well-appreciated.

Yelp
I have to say that Winkels has an amazing apple pie tart. Crust is light and the apple filling is not sweet. I went twice in 2 days it is now a favorite of mine.

Yelp
Got lunch and the famous apple pie! Best apple pie ever! The place is small but offers outside seating and take away.

Well known place for Apple pie in Amsterdam. Didn't disappoint! We went later in evening so wait wasn't too long.

Who knew Amsterdam had such good apple pie? My friend and I walked by Winkel 43 Monday around 3:30 pm and there was a short line. There's both indoor and patio seating. The line looked long but moved super fast. What you do is you order first inside and then find a table afterwards. If all you're ordering is the apple pie like us, then they have plates of it already prepared and will just hand it to you right as you order. Very efficient! There's other stuff on the menu too, mostly sandwiches and drinks. We were already stuffed from eating all day, so we only got the apple pie with whipped cream to share. One slice costs $5.60. The apple pie was so good! The crust was very thick and felt like more like cookie than crust. The apple chunks were delicious and not too sweet, there's a lot of apple in one slice, plenty for us to share. The whipped cream went really well with the pie too; we killed the whole plate despite being pretty full already. I prefer the apple pie here to the ones we get in the states, especially because it's less sweet here. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Amsterdam!

Yelp
This place is famous for their apple and I highly recommend this place if you are in Amsterdam. The whip cream went well with the crust and apple pie itself. The egg sandwich also tasted delicious. The service was awesome! The host and server was very nice and recommend lots of different choices to eat. There are outdoor seating as well as inside seating. The ambiance of this place brings you back into the Victoria ear. Very cute then trendy and semi modern. Dogs are welcome for the outdoor dining
