"Hit the Slopes in the Middle of the City One of the best things about Calgary is the winter playground in the center of town. Canada Olympic Park, on the western edge of the city, features a ski hill, snowboard park, cross-country trails, an Olympic luge track, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, and a glass elevator that takes you to the 1988 Winter Olympic's biggest ski jump, as well as skating facilities and restaurants. It also offers private and group lessons, so you can brush up on your sport where World Cup and Olympic athletes train. Plan a day to hit the slopes, or forget the skis and come explore the park's less strenuous attractions that celebrate winter. By jennifer allford + jean roe"

Sent my kids for ski lessons early morning and was able to find parking easily. Parkings can be a challenge after 10am during weekends. The renovated lodge is clean and spacious with plenty of seatings. It will be great if there is free hot water to warm up tummy during winter times.

Winsport is pretty fun in summer and winter and has good staff. :) and has a nice summer slope

Only reason it's not a 5* is the current construction on the first floor makes things chaotic and the signage is kinda poor. That being said, record breaking attendance today and I don't think I waited for a lift longer than 5 min.

“The federal government provided over $17.4 million and the provincial government of Alberta committed $17.5 million for the $40-million-plus Day Lodge overhaul at WIN Sport”. For a public facility, the people there sure have a lot of private attitudes. 1. Food and tickets are way too expensive, they just want your money. $82 for a day, $30 for food and water. They used to have a microwave, now they don’t. 2. The staff there? A collection of the sickest people you will ever meet. Instructors insult the kids, managers insult their staff. And by the way, anyone who wants an apology from them, have EMS on stand by... because they are deadly allergic to apologies!!! 3. Washrooms and eating areas are always FILTHY, nobody maintains it. Is there a point in having a bathroom? No. In fact, they didn’t have to drain public resource of renovate the place. Put Porta-potties and a hot dog stand outside, you’re good to go! Albeit $10 hot dogs! Don’t go to this place, just drive to Nakiska. Nakiska is a longer drive, but you avoid these sick minded people. It’s a shame, this place once a Canadian legacy is now being run by incompetent staff. The fact they treat people so badly, is what makes me want to see this place close down. The sooner, the better. EVERYONE LETS ALL BAND TOGETHER, STOP GOING, drain their cash and force them into bankruptcy.

Today was my family's first time going skiing at WinSport this season, we totally didn't know they are under renovation now, so we went there after lunch as last season, the parking lot was full, so we parked far away then we carried our adult ski equipment walked to the ski area, and walked around inside the building and couldn't find the rental place (we needed to rent the ski and ski boots for our 3 kids), when we got out and checked the map, the rental place is all the way on the other side of the parking lot (Geeze!!) Went into the Rentals, found that the rentals were sold out today, our kids couldn't go to ski without ski equipment, so we had to leave and the kids were super disappointed. We were told that the line up for rentals were super crazy in the morning and may needed to wait in line for 2-3 hours. I like the place before they renovate, the second floor has more seats which is nice but we definitely need a bigger parking lot more. Chaotic!!!

So happy we booked snowboarding lessons for our kiddo, he had so much fun. Dave was his instructor and he said he was awesome. Thanks, Dave!

This ski resort is absolutely fantastic! The slopes are wide, so there’s no need to worry about collisions. We happened to visit during the World Cup, and even though it was crowded, the lift lines moved quickly. The lifts are beginner-friendly, slowing down at the top to make it easy to get off. The green runs have just the right incline—not too flat—making them great for beginners. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This sports center is incredible and provides the perfect venue for hockey enthusiasts to catch a game or even play! This place caters to high school students who practice their sport. It is incredibly well designed and allows for many different activities including popular winter sports events!! Definitely worth checking out and exploring!!

Yelp
We stopped by to do some zip lining at the tallest, and fastest zip line in North America, as well as Bob's letting on the Olympic previous track. When we got there we were able to park in the parking lot and they're front for free and walk on it in. Once he got in we were able to check in for our reservation, watch the introduction video, and get suited up for zip lining. We did a trial run, and then got bust up to the top of the ski lift where we were able to zip line all the way down back to ground level. It was a wild experience and one that I wouldn't be afraid of because they seem train and practiced. It was really beautiful up there and was an experience I remember forever. The bobsled it was also interesting, but as the track is older it is a little bumpy here especially if you've never done it before. Overall staff at this location was very nice as well.

Yelp
Loved it. Everyone's were completely amazing and literally the only thing you pay for is if you want to walk through the Canada Sports Hall of Fame which was actually pretty cool. Took pictures of the difference area from the movie Cool Runnings really enjoyed it and also did my son.

Yelp
Really fabulous place, you would not believe all the different sports they have here it's not just skiing and snowboarding, they have you luge both in the summer and the winter and bobsled and four of the biggest ice rinks in the country including where our national Olympic team trains! Figure skating, two amazing gyms, can you believe that they teach over 35,000 snowboarders and skiers every winter! It's really really incredible Iworth a visit. Plus for your first ski and snowboard lessons and they will give you the rentals and the lesson and the ski pass for only $45!!! You're not gonna find a better deal anywhere! At Lake Louise or sunshine it is $110 before taxes just for the lift ticket and that does not include any rentals or Lessons of course!......... also I would like to update my review specifically about the great lounge at the ski chalet at the bottom of the hill at the COP/winsport. It's called 88 and I highly recommend. They have delicious food and great prices and specials on drinks and most importantly they have an incredible waitress/bartender called Melody. Everybody has been to restaurants where they have very loud waitresses with fake laughs who are pretending to enjoy themselves but really they're just after your money for tips. Melody is the opposite.....She is an authentic person with an incredible talent for remembering faces and names, I met her 10 days ago and then briefly introduce my son who she met for maybe 30 seconds... How many people would a busy waitress meet within 10 days...... perhaps over 200? She remembered both of our names today. How is that even possible; she even remembered aspects of my life that I had briefly mentioned. If she is making the effort to retain names and details about people like that i'm hoping she is being properly appreciated and compensated by management. I used to be a waitress for 10 years when I was working on my degrees and I know that it's a very rare and special talent. When I quit my restaurant the owner was shocked to see a huge dip in sales, he doesn't realize how important waitresses are and they create connections with both the walk-in crowd and especially the regulars. I've been to 88 four times now and each time Melody had a large number of tables who were all being entertained by her authentic comedy and attention, these are not fake laughs that people were politely doing they were really authentic belly laughs of clients who really really appreciated their fabulous hostess. And I could hear the conversations people were talking about her as she walked away -everybody loved her. Thank you so much Melody see you again soon!

Yelp
Great place for kids and adults. Our child takes classes here the last two seasons and the instructors are wonderful with kids. Classes are well managed and reasonably priced. Will return again and again.

Yelp
Winsport has some excellent facilities and I can't complain. I have experienced some minor disorganization in their programs but overall they are a great facility.
