Wish Willy Bar & Grill

Stopped at Wish Willy's on a Monday night. Grab a drink from the cooler and have a seat. There is no menu, the chef comes by and says what he has and you let him know what you want. Seating is communal so get to know your fellow patrons. The pork and lobster were really good and the grilled veggies were done well. Get there early to get a seat but you might have to wait for the food to cook. I enjoyed the experience.

Best meal on the island! Don’t expect a fancy restaurant or a quick meal… it’s more about the experience of a local backyard BBQ with some of the most deliciously seasoned simple food you could desire. You’ll grab a drink from the cooler and Maurice will get to you when he has time to let you know what he is grilling that day. And whatever he is grilling, you’re going to love it!

I’d go back to Wish Willy every single day if I could. willy presents you with an opportunity to escape your life for an hour and immerse yourself in the island lifestyle. His food is cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully! GO TO WISH WILLYS!!!!!

Our group of 8 had a great time and great food. Family style was the way to go! Lobster (one for everybody plus two extra) plus shrimp, jack, barracuda, chicken, ribs, and sides of beans and rice and mixed veggies. Everything was delicious and nobody left hungry that is for sure. Highly recommend!

The lobster is superb, best I’ve ever had. Willy’s approach is unique, and we loved it! Great guy who likes to have a chat. Definitely a great place if you’re in for a cool experience, but come with the right expectations: it’s not a fancy dine in restaurant. Food’s a bit on the expensive side, but the food on Caye Caulker is expensive to begin with so it’s priced well.

You got to be ready for the quirkiness of it, but the food is great. Don't expect American service standards, come prepared to relax, talk with people you don't know who are sitting next to you and chill with the music. As said more than once, it is like going to a neighborhood picnic, except Maurice can really cook. If you want a behind the scenes experience and have a fantastic lunch, go to the website and do the cooking class. It is more of a watch than do, but you will have a great time talking to a great chef and person. We love Wish Willy and with the right attitude, you will too.

Best meal we have had on the island. We started with the shrimp curry which was unreal, followed by the barracuda steak and the jerk chicken. Every dish was incredibly good! The setting is very rustic with family style dining on long tables, and the service is very good. Must visit. We came on a quiet night and got straight in but also tried on a Saturday and got turned away. Come early if on the weekend.

It’s a bit of a weird place but amazing. The chef seems to do everything so you have to wait a while but show a little patience and he’ll be the kindest man ever. Great food and really rich in flavour.
