"Wissahickon Valley Park straddles the line between Germantown and Chestnut Hill — a little to the north of Center City, but worth a visit for any nature lovers in the area. The hickory and oak tree forest that surrounds the Wissahickon Creek is so secluded that it feels like its own world, separate from the rest of the city. The park’s Forbidden Drive might have a foreboding name, but it’s really a peaceful gravel trail with a strict no-car rule. The park also has the Valley Green Inn, a historic colonial tavern famous for its brunch." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Our favorite place!! So many trails and nature! It’s gorgeous…only downfall is people don’t clean up after themselves after a weekend and there’s lots of trash collected near the edge of the river down stream. Sometimes the music can be overwhelming on the weekends when many people gather to get in the river. Otherwise, the mornings are exceptionally gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous in the fall when the leaves start changing color. Parking can be spotty on the weekends, but it worth the trouble. Has plenty of trails for hiking, running or biking. Would use caution with strollers as most paths are gravel and can be bumpy for the little ones.

One of my favorite parks in Philly. A lot of trails you can choose from easy one and difficult to walk, bike and hike. They are plenty beautiful spots; waterfall, steam, meadow, wood, coffee shop and restaurants. Do the research before your trip to go there.

We took the orange trail from the Blue Bell Parking lot. The trail was beautiful with bridges and different types of trails, rocks trail, step trails, little sandy and little muddy , beautiful fall foliage. We get a little confused because of a construction and to returned to the parking lot got the forbidden drive trail after using the clean bathrooms in valley green. Then we took again the orange trail, at the end we covered 6.7 miles.

The Wissahickon is a beautiful natural area is the city. The hiking is very easy and the paths are easy to find. There are porta potties at the parking lot. The area is dog friendly as well.

My kid went there for mountain biking. My husband and I decided to hike. It was beyond my expectation. The hiking trail was quite rocky and steep sometimes. We passed a few old bridges, an old giant sewer pipe. Underneath a bridge, there was a lovely pool, which was called Devil's pool. There was a historic house named Valley Green Inn. Believe it or not, it is still in operation, serving lunch and dinner. Beautiful green and pleasant sunny weather in August after last week's rain. We really had a good time.

Wissahickon Valley Park was definitely worth the long drive! I had a blast with friends hiking the orange trail to Devil's Pool. The mica rocks in the river were amazing to see, really cool and sparkly. When we reached the pool, it felt like a mini party with everyone enjoying the scenery. Great place for a fun outdoor adventure! But a bit much graffiti.

Clean park, fresh air, fabulous paths, lots of benches. A good place for walking, hiking. But there are no conditions for family recreation. Bad parking. It's just a forest.
