Wm. Mulherin’s Sons is an absolute must-visit for brunch! The food was fantastic from start to finish. We started with the Yellowtail Crudo, which was incredibly light and flavorful. The Ricotta Bomboloni were a total standout—they honestly could have been dessert! They had an amazing texture and a lovely hint of orange. For our mains, both the Spaghetti Pomodoro and the Mezze Maniche Carbonara were executed to perfection. If you're looking for high-quality pasta and a great atmosphere, this is the spot.

By far one of the best dining experience we’ve had. Food, drinks and service was amazing. The scallops were delicious, calamari was full of flavor. But the Foccaccia is AMAZING!!! Spicy jawn pizza was spicy but delicious. Carbonara pasta was very good. Now the dessert, the tiramisu was delicious the panacotta may not be fore everyone but it was delicious. Overall 5/5

Pizza dishes were amazing. Side of eggs were definitely not over easy and not cooked in a clean pan. Over hard and overdone. Crispy potatoes were not crispy and clearly made earlier. The homemade English muffin was good and saved the day.

We came here as a group of 14 and every single person thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The team at Wm. Mulherin’s Sons really knows how to craft a great dining experience —m from their excellent cocktails (we tried a few different ones, all amazing) to the warm service and cozy vibe. We sampled nearly everything on the menu appetizers, pizza, pasta, and steak and not a single dish disappointed. Some standouts: the crispy octopus, wood-fired beets, carbonara, Margherita pizza, Al Funghi pizza, Flat Iron steak, and the Sweet Jawn. And to finish it all off, their tiramisu was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend this spot which is perfect for groups, date nights, or anyone who just loves great food, cocktails, and atmosphere. One of Philly’s best dining experiences!

The food was absolutely amazing, id dare to say astonishing. Steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster melted in my mouth. The red pasta sauce on the spaghetti was well balanced and not too acidic. Apps were delicious and i would strongly recommend the calamari as it was so tasty, even the tomatoes were to die for. Will was a wonderful server, attentive, warm, and knowledgeable.

The pizza was delicious (a double Margarita), and the dessert was also delicious. Cocktails: the first one was a 5/5, the second one a 3/5. The biggest downside: the smell inside the restaurant ((( The hood doesn't remove cooking odors. And the second downside: please clean your coffee machine behind the bar, it's very unpleasant to see it in such a dirty state. (((

We orders the crispy octopus, margherita pizza, and tagliatelle. The crispy octopus was missing something that my gf and I couldn’t pinpoint but was still good. Our pizza had too much char on the bottom with imposed too much bitterness. I think there oven was set too high. The tagliatelle was delicious. I don’t know but our waiter had too many 2 person tables that were starting and finishing at the same time so he was overwhelmed but did his best. That being said we waited too long between for our drinks to come multiple times. Overall we thought for price point of the menu, the food and service lacked.

This goes down as one of the best meals I’ve had in Philly. The octopus changed my life!!!! They told me it was their signature dish, and I was very skeptical. It was tender, crispy, flavorful, inventive!!!! I could have eaten ten of them. The pasta was so beautiful- I got the sausage rigatoni. The sausage was fresh and I believe local!!! We were so impressed we finished off with pizza which absolutely lived up to the hype. Wood fired, fresh, flavorful. Don’t ask me how we walked out of here. The service was making. Fire was lit and atmosphere was cozy despite how crowded it was!

Food This place is on the higher end, so expect it to be quite pricey, but in my opinion everything was really good and up to par. Starting off our meal, we got crispy octopus, focaccia, burrata, and an eggplant pizza. The octopus was amazing cooked to tender perfection, with the crunchy outer coating accompanied with this creamy flavorful pesto. The focaccia bread was really soft and fluffy and just the perfect amount of saltiness. The burrata was pretty good, creamy with the accompanying vegetables that were perfectly cooked. Lastly, the pizza was really good. It was cooked okay and the eggplant was perfectly charred and just gave off a good earth flavor with the rich cheese it came with. For the main dish, I got the Saffron Torchiette which came with a lamb ragu. It was pretty good, and the pasta was al dente meaning it had some good bite to it. The sauce was just okay for me. I got to taste the other dishes too and my favorite was the lobster spaghetti. Service/Ambiance The place was more of old fashioned bar type of vibe. Our server was nice and we got the food relatively quick in between the appetizer and main dish portion of our meal.

One of the best culinary experiences in Philadelphia. You can't beat the vibe and ambiance. It's pairs so perfectly with the City of Brotherly Love. Our waitress was super nice and warm making our first dinner experience feel welcoming. We treated ourselves to quite a few dishes. Pizzas are fantastic along with their pastas and salads. Ok, please don't judge me. My favorite dish was their gem salad. Not sure what dressing was on there but the beautiful greens paired perfectly with it.

My friend and I made reservations on the earlier side of the evening. We sat in the garden area, which was really cute with the right volume of music. The ambiance was nice. We liked our waiter. He was very knowledgeable of the menu (for my very inquisitive friend) and was able to offer suggestions as well. The food: we had the focaccia to start. The oil and cream were light but memorable and delectable. The focaccia was perfect in texture, with a slight chewiness and perfectly "seasoned." (I'm a focaccia lover and snob). We had the asparagus to share, which was cooked to the perfect texture and was well seasoned. It was good but not awe-inspiring. I had the carbonara. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce for the carbonara was tasty and offered the perfect coverage for the noodles (not too much, not too little), but had too little guanciale. I noted that to my friend while eating. My friend had a lobster pasta that she raved about, from unexpected (but tasty) flavor and perfectly cooked pasta. She cleaned her plate and mentioned it has been one of her better meals since moving to Philly. **I'd definitely come back to try other menu items.

Love the ambiance here! I like sitting near the fireplace. The pizza is decent but nothing special. My NA drink was pretty tasty but super overpriced compared to most NA offerings at other bars. Cozy place to dip into in the winter but I might skip in the summer/spring as the vibe is better for escaping the cold and warming up by the fire.

We walked in on a random Saturday (8:30ish). And to our surprise we're seated right away. Our waiter (Jason) was so attentive and knowledgeable. His wine and cocktail recommendations were top notch. We ended up getting a few small plates and pizza and it was perfect for two people. It was such a great date night and cannot recommend it enough.

I was recommended this place and have concluded that the food is pretty good, but the service isn't great. We had a hard time finding the indoor area and first walked to the outdoor garden, and although we were clearly confused, nobody pointed us in the right direction. Then the A/C was way too cold and we requested to be re-seated or have it turned off. Neither happened. We ordered: Crispy octopus ($22) - 4/5. Loved the thickness of the octopus and the light, crispy exterior. The sauce that it came with was a bit odd, too citrusy for my liking. Spicy jawn ($22) - 4/5. I liked the kick from the peppers and the toppings were salty and meaty. The crust was struggling a bit to hold everything together, though. Tagliatelle ($24) - 5/5. This was a great dish, super flavorful and the sauce really clung to the noodles. There was also plenty of sausage. Hangar steak ($38) - 4/5. The steak was a little chewy but still really good. It was especially tasty with the chimichurri. The service was a bit slow but I think it's because the servers have to go up and down those ghastly stairs all the time.

My first time dining here. Love the look of the place - very chill vibe The food was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Had the crispy octopus and hamachi crudo. The pizza - hands down some the best pizza I've had - had the double Margherita. The crust was crispy and chewy. The sauce was tangy and just enough. my fiancé ordered the cavetelli. Corn and morels. He ordered it but I helped him devour it. For me - it is ranked the best in the city (so far) I say that because I can't wait to try the other pasta dishes. Service was also top notch. My new favorite restaurant- thank you for the wonderful experience!

Finally got here last night. My wife and I grabbed the last two open seats at the bar. The bartenders were awesome (shot out to Derrick) as were the vibes, music (90s hip hop/R&B), cocktails and food. My wife ordered the Light As A Feather cocktail and I got some old fashioneds. Some of the best cocktails we've had in the city. Loved the stamped cube in my old fashioned. For food we ordered the octopus, prosciutto di parma, and skirt steak. Everything was amazing. The octopus was fried instead of grilled, which was unique and actually delicious. It was served over chimichurri and a veggie/starch puree, and those were delicious. The prosciutto was so fresh and delicious. It was served with unpowdered zeppolis, which worked really well. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides of mushrooms and onions were amazing. Everything really hit the spot. It was a bit pricey but definitely worth it. The portions were decent. The place is beautiful. It is darkly dimmed, perfect for a date night. The bartenders were personable and funny. And they made amazing drinks. The bar is small so you'll need a bit of luck to catch some seats on Friday or Saturday. I will definitely be back.

I've visited Wm Mulherins on three occasions and each time I find myself getting lost in the abundant flavor of their offerings and completely forgetting to post a review. It's a testament to their ambiance, service, and well-appointed meals ENVIRONMENT There are three distint dining areas and I've had the pleasure of seating in two of them. One of the dining areas is seated next to a fireplace. A second offers premium people watching of Frankford Ave beside the bar. On each visit, the service I've received has been top-notch with all of the servers being prompt and courteous. FOOD Despite having a littany of dishes that left me humming to myself in delight, the standout is the foccacia. It's a simple bread accompanied by ricotta cheese yet it's moist,flavorful,and light.On more than one occasion I've also enjoyed the calamari and Sawzeech pizza(another standout-see attached image). If your having trouble choosing between a variety of offerings in Fishtown and your budget is tight along with needing a quick reservation, Mulherrins is the right choice.

Fantastic meal at a super cool place! Between the music, fireplace, friendly staff, and the food....this place is a must try. The calamari had this char-grilled flavor that made it amazing! The Margherita Pizza was one of the best we've had, and the spaghetti with lobster was so delish, we were soaking up every bite of the sauce with our pizza crust. Our server was so amazing. She was knowledgeable, made recommendations on food and drinks and was just as pleasant as she could be. We loved our meal and will definitely be back!

We were wandering Fishtown, looking for a nice place to eat. Exterior was quant so we decided to check out the menu. I wanted pasta so we asked for a seat. Food: 4/5 We started with yellowtail crudo, which was small, but light and refreshing. We order the Paccheri Neri and Agnoloitte for entrées. I really enjoyed both dishes. However, I enjoyed the Agnoloitte the most since it was creamy and savory. Candidly, these plates are not big, very gourmet vibes. The total damage was around $100 (before tip). Service:5/5 The service here was amazing! Our server was great at providing us with suggestions and explaining the dishes. He checked on us regularly and even removed a drink I didn't like from my check. My grandparent's would love this place. All in all, this is a once or twice a year restaurant visit, due to the price. But, I really enjoyed this place!

We were in the mood for Italian food and stumbled upon this place on Friday night and was able to get seated at the bar around 6pm! The apps were the best part for me. We got the FRIED octopous and focaccia. The fried octopus was so good! The pastas were good but not amazing. We got the carbonara and the special pasta they had that night. The drinks were a little pricy for philly, I think it came out to almost 25-30 dollars per cocktail. Service was good.

Went for a free maggie rogers sponsored happy hour and it was SO CUTE AND FUN! i dont live in philly but this had been recommended to me by my partner who used to and this was the perfect occasion! Their outdoor space is huge and adorable, and then they have an inside bar/building space I didn't check out! Maggie had a bunch of sweet treats and custom drinks. The staff there was very kind and happy to be there! Excited to go back and see their full menu and space soon

Came here Valentine's Day weekend and it was packed! Luckily we had a reservation and this place is the perfect cute date spot. The interior and ambiance is amazing! We had a drink at the bar and then headed to dinner. The food was good especially the pizza but I think the drinks stood out - they were strong and flavorful.

Much better service with this bar team! I was hesitant to return after receiving less than stellar service back in December, but I heard things (aka staff) changed and am glad I gave them another shot. Ben was especially fantastic as my bartender for the evening! The whole team working behind the bar and running orders were working seamlessly on a busy Friday night. I solo dined and was able to get a seat at the bar without a reservation. I wanted something fresh but with depths of flavor, so I ordered the tuna crudo and crispy octopus to go with my drink order. Easily my favorite hot octopus dish in the area! It was crispy without being chewy or too soft, luxurious in every taste. The tuna crudo was visually quite small but good quality and well balanced by the puree. I miss their winter crudo which had additional crisp vegetables for contrast. This is a great spot to drink. and dine if you want to feel fancy for the evening without making a black tie event. I saw many people in dressy attire and some in "going out" but casual clothes, but everyone wore smiles! Staff are constantly moving on the floor. Thank you to Courtney for explaining the menu to me when I looked confused (trying to read in the dim light after a long week of work).

I had an insane hankering for pasta and decided to try this place. I was looking for an amazing, elevated dish and I don't think I got that. I also think I was overlooked by the staff since I was a solo diner which is really a bummer. I'm not sure what gin drink I got but I wasn't a fan. It had an overly essenced flavor. It was strong however. I also feel at this price bread should be complimentary. The positives are that the place is large. They have a beautiful garden/patio and even on a busy weeknight the place seemed to be well staffed and well run.

Amazing place for all occasions and all age groups - date night, girls night, mother kid outing, group dining. It has menu that would cater to all age needs. The service is excellent. Love their rotational pizzas and pastas.

Came here with a reservation on a Saturday evening with a large party and we were seated quite quickly. The service was pretty good with the attentiveness and efficiency - I think I expected more though given the ambiance and overall vibe of the restaurant, but at the end of the day they weren't overbearing so it was pleasant overall. The menu had a good mix of dishes, however things were overly expensive I think for the quality and portion sizes. The food itself though was pretty delicious - I enjoyed the calamari, bread, and pizzas. Everything though was a bit small and I was definitely hungry afterwards. Overall, I probably wouldn't return to this spot, but I'm glad I tried it. The food was tasty, the price just didn't justify anything in my opinion.

We went here last night for dinner and loved all of our food! We ordered focaccia, calamari, and pork belly for our appetizers. For dinner, we shared the double Mozerella pizza and spicy jawn pizza. All of our appetizers were very tasty! The pork belly was the best I've ever had and the calamari had a unique flair as well! The double Mozerella pizza was amazing!! We really enjoyed all of our food and drinks as well. The espresso martinis were also the best I've had at any restaurant. Our waiters and servers were very nice and patient with our group of 9. I will definitely come back here again when we are in the area! We had a really great experience!

Last minute dinner spot but I was very impressed with the food selections, cocktails, and each dish tasted! We got seated at the bar since it was packed but the food made it worth it.

This place is great!!! I've been here a few times and never been disappointed. Everything from the apps, pizzas, pastas, and dessert --- EVERYTHING ON POINT! they used to have a ricotta gnudi which was sooo good and I hope they bring it back. I've had their spicy jawn and their double Margherita. Usually not a fan of Neapolitan crust but they do it perfectly! This time I had their papparadelle and my husband had their cavatelli. Both were perfect and pasta was perfect, tasted so fresh. For dessert, we had the pistachio crepe brûlée and chocolate hazelnut gelati. The gelati was sooo good it had some toasted pieces of hazelnut. The service is always great and no complaints there. I've always sat in their garden area and love the ambiance!

Dining at Wm. Mulherin's Sons was a cool choice for a Saturday afternoon in their nice outdoor heated area in January. We kept fairly warm. Met up with my friend for brunch to catch up and we had a knowledgeable an attentive waitstaff. Started off with requesting one of Wm. Mulherin's Sons' sweet cocktails (which they did not really have any that were). I sent their cocktail back and got a cosmo that was good. I had the cacio e pepe pasta, which was delicious (but the portion size was a bit small). Enjoyed hanging out for brunch at Wm. Mulherin's Sons and would definitely visit again!

Our group was in Philadelphia for a conference and on one of the nights the 16 of us decided to get dinner at WM Mulherin and Sons. The area is fraught with seating with indoor and outdoor options and plenty of heating for the outdoor/garden making it a popular establishment regardless of the season. Word on the street is that many well known celebrities have dined here in the past and it's easy to see why. Food 5/5 We had started with a round of drinks, but cannot recall the name of any of them. All I recall is that mine had the strawberry in it and would not recommend it. Their drink menu changes with the season so they're always offering new cocktails/beers to match the season and to complement the food. As per food, we started with focaccia, which basically melted in my mouth. It comes with a very savory house whipped ricotta. The Burrata is a MUST. Do not leave this place without ordering it. Your taste buds will thank me later. We also ordered the Leslie Chow pizza, which also was good, but not my favorite item. It is enough for 2 people to share so be sure to order more as needed. The have a wide variety of pizza toppings and plenty of options. Like the drink menu, the pasta options also rotate with the seasons. Some are year-long favorites, but others such as the Fileja (pesto based pasta) and the Tajarin (Truffle pasta) were some of our favorite dishes. We were lucky to have gone when we went because the truffle pasta was amazing. A friend of mine said "I need a moment alone with this pasta" as she wiped the plate clean. It was pretty spectacular. We did not have room for dessert, but I am sure there are good options. Service 4/5: Our waiter was very knowledgeable and was able to help select items that our whole table would enjoy as we preferred to eat family style. He was able to give good insight into each item and knew what drinks that would pair nicely with the food. He was attentive and always there. We had a slight hiccup in our reservation as we intended for our large group to be at two separate tables close to each other, however one table was accidentally booked for the outdoors. It was unfortunate that our tables could not be together, but the garden seating was also a blessing in disguise. We were seated rather quickly and got our food within a reasonable time frame. ambience: Plenty of dining spaces that offer a nice quiet place to have dinner. Makes for a great place to get dinner with friends or to go on dates. Cozy. Warm. Welcoming.

Very cute spot for date night! We had our baby with us and they were accommodating! They have a fireplace burning which gives the ambiance a romantic cozy feeling. The food was delicious. We did get the Leslie chow pizza but we didn't like it. Drinks, apps and their special pasta of the night were all on point!

Updating my review as it's been 7 years since my last ! WM mulherins remains a solid dinner option in the area with some pros and cons to note A couple months ago we came with out of town guests and ordered lobster spaghetti, blue prawns, crispy octopus , tuna crudo , leslie chow pizza and Tajarin pasta. We all enjoyed our cocktails, service was good. We over ordered according to the servers recommendation, but halfway through we asked if the kitchen started cooking the branzino yet and they hadn't , so we canceled that thankfully. The best dishes that night were the spaghetti and octopus. I wish our server had told us the prawns only had 3 pieces for our party of four , but not a huge deal. The spaghetti is amazing , perfectly Al dente pasta and the lobster is cooked to perfection. It was perfect again on our recent visit this last weekend , as was the crispy octopus ! I wasn't a fan of the tajarin but I wanted to be. I LOVE truffle and chanterelle mushrooms, but the truffle flavor was hard to find on the last visit so I didn't re order this last weekend, wasn't a fan The Frank white pizza was really good, great flavor, good quality toppings and their pizza dough is great The ricotta cavatelli I found solid, but nothing that blew me away . I did not like the branzino. The order took quite a while to come out and when it did , one end was charred so deeply that it had a burnt flavor - and I do like me some good char . The salad was over dressed with oil in my opinion and didn't have much flavor other than the olive oil and a bit of fennel, wouldn't recommend. It's a different style, but I much prefer the branzino at Suraya Last weekend , service did leave a bit to be desired. Our server was friendly, and we could tell he was really busy - but there were a number of times we literally couldn't find or flag down our server. I'm sure the hubby and I will be back to try some other items for another date night soon, will update my review !

Everything about WM Mulheirns & Sons is dope. Our server was super friendly. The space is beautiful for a night out in Philly. The food was awesome. My sister gives her spagehetti 4/5 and said there was a lil kick to it. I got pappardelle and have to go 5/5. The cheese to meat to pasta to spice ratio was on point for this dish. The portion was enough to fill me up. Great experience and will definitely check it out again. Other pics include an espresso martini and a drink called mambo italiano.

One of our all time favorite spots for brunch in the Fishtown area! We highly recommend pistachio croissant as a staple in any order. Don't forget to grab a glass of freshly brewed iced coffee too. If coffee isn't your thing, then you should order their tangy and sweet orange juice! Don't forget one of their pizzas. We tried their spicy jawn which our waiter raved about, and it did not disappoint!

This restaurant was awesome. Everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommend the grilled calamari with pesto.

Tucked into an old building in Fishtown, you will find Wm Mulherin's. I know they also run a hotel upstairs which is a fine location for anyone visiting. But for me, I finally tried this restaurant after years of walking past it. The overall ambience was great and I enjoyed being there but the food left a lot to be desired. When I arrived my friends were already seated for our reservation so I am glad the server was able to work that out. They had ordered focaccia which was actually very good but it's bread, hard to mess up. The whipped ricotta and oil was a perfect pairing. I ordered a beer with my meal which came out quickly and was perfectly crisp. But our actually food was just so so. My husband had order "tortellini" but I guess he misread the menu cause what arrived was a ravioli adjacent pasta which was fine but really only had 6 squares and was not really what we wanted. We had also ordered a Frank White pizza which was fine but not anything I would want again. Maybe my problem was letting my husband order cause the food was not anything to write home about. After all this, I was still hungry. They dropped the dessert menu and nothing sounded good so we left. Also - at risk at sounded like an old person shouting at a cloud - it was unreasonably dark and the fonts on the menu were so small I couldn't really read them. Anyway, I probably won't be back and there are other restaurants in the neighborhood I would recommend before this one.

Love this spot for dinner or late night drinks. The service is always great. I highly recommend trying the octopus on their menu. Additionally, their martinis never disappoint. My favorites are their espresso martini and kettle one dirty martini.

I loved my first experience here! I visited on a Friday night with friends and we were seated outside in what seemed like a heated shipping container (it was a nice touch on outdoor seating). Our waiter was Mark and he did a great job explaining the menu, he even got me and my friend set up with a few plates before our other guests arrived. Every plate we ordered was shareable which allowed us to try multiple things. I was a fan of the pizza because the crust was so light and airy. I'll definitely be back.

LOVED my experience at WM Mulherin's! Making a reservation for a large party was a seamless experience. I emailed directly with a host who was quick to respond to any questions that I had. Vibes, food and service were all on point. It's an old whiskey distillery that was converted into a restaurant you can definitely tell - the space is super rustic / dark / cozy. But if you aren't into that you can also sit outside under twinkling lights. Perfect for a warm summer eve, and on an unseasonably warm spring night every table was filled. Anyways, on to the eats. Our table of 8 went splits on bunch of small plates like octopus, calamari, burrata and and of course pies. The octopus was tender, charred to perfection and came with the most delicious aioli. Pizza had a perfectly salty crust and was to die for. Fancy toppings weren't even needed - I loved the margarita. But that bacon and ramp pie was also ace. Pastas are a must. Hubs and I shared pork agnolotti and the sausage ragu. Both were cooked to al dente perfection and came with a generous amount. It was a lot of food but we devoured it all, unfortunately just no room for dessert. All of my friends loved their fun cocktails and my blood orange mocktail did just the trick. This is a great spot for delicious pizzas, pastas and cocktails in a classy setting. I'd love to come again one day.

I stopped by here solo after dinner for a drink and ended up staying for three. I went in and was sat at the bar immediately. The bartenders really read the room well- high energy, chatty, and friendly without being fake. I really enjoyed Benjamin walking me through the cocktail and wine menus, and was impressed with his friendliness and cocktail knowledge. Definitely a step up from a standard Italian joint's cocktail menu or bartending service, and it's why I stayed for much longer than I thought I would. Vibes were absolutely immaculate on a Friday night--loud but not boisterous, great atmosphere to hang out and socialize. I didn't have any food here but the pizza looked absolutely elite. I imagine this would be a fun after diner drinks spot or a fun date night out.

My go to date night spot. We have been several times and have been seated outside and inside. The ambiance in both areas is so nice. Just the right amount of fancy, yet cozy. The food is so good, you literally smile as you taste it. We ordered several things to split because everything sounds so good. Their pasta is so incredibly tender and light. My wife never fusses about food like I do, but this was the first time I saw her genuinely so excited about the food. The drinks and service are always outstanding. Next time we go we will try the pizza, I've heard so many good things!

Cozy bar area, with lots of natural light. I was here for brunch and the Bloody Mary was fabulous. Has lots of horseradish and paper in it one of the best bloody I've had in the city. Service is great as well.

I don't usually eat Italian, but when I do it is among the best. We finally tried WM mulersons in Fishtown and we were floored. This establishment has been frequented by Kylie Jenner and is a part of a boutique hotel, with garden, indoor and outdoor heated spaces, this place is a year round hit. We started off with amazing drinks for the table. With me being a picky eater and our vegetarian friend, I thought we will be up for a challenge! But read on - Focaccia served with whipped ricotta was fresh and the perfect quantity The beet salad was genuinely delicious ! Grilled calamari (I tasted one ring and wasn't put off!) Leslie Chow pizza with generous amounts of Ridicchio was surprisingly yum The frank white pizza was easily my favourite and it had a nice spicy kick to it. The steak with salsa verde was cooked to perfection Last but not the least the Cavatelli was amazing. This one will be going down in the very small list of Shauti approved Italian restaurants!

We have been here twice now and have not been disappointed by a single plate of food or cocktail! The wait staff was always so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They have the best recommendations! No matter what you HAVE to get the crispy octopus small plate!! It is in the top 5 best plates of food I've ever eaten!! We have now tried multiple pasta courses and the ragu is a must!! All the pasta has been cooked perfectly! We have sat in two different areas and both have a relaxing ambiance which was perfect for a Friday night dinner after a long week of work! I cannot recommend this place enough!!

My experiences here recently with the service have been going downhill, and yesterday was the last straw for me. Made a brunch reservation at 2 pm for 6 people. They offer reservations until 2:15 pm. Right as we were seated, the waiter told us that the kitchen closes at 2:30 pm so we needed to put our food order in immediately. We ordered drinks and when they were brought out to us, our waiter told us that the bar was also closing down and if we wanted another drink we would need to order it then. Why would your restaurant offer reservations until 2:15 pm but close the kitchen and bar shortly after that? Keep your kitchen and bar open as long as you have paying customers! I was so confused and frustrated and I could tell my friends were too but I tried to let it go. We ordered some pancakes for the table, and when my husband cut into them, a huge piece of plastic wrapping was inside. When we told our waiter, he tried to say it was edible part of the egg or pancake, so my husband bit into the plastic to show the waiter. I couldn't believe he had to do that to convince the waiter that the kitchen messed up. We were given the pancakes for free and had another pasta come out on the house which was nice, but at that point I was so annoyed by everything that I just wanted to leave. When it was time to pay, we asked to split the check 3 ways and noticed that our waiter charged my friend's card twice. When we brought it up to him he claimed he took care of it with the manager and that it happens all the time. His defensiveness and inability to take ownership for the mistakes was truly discouraging. I wanted to have a leisurely brunch with friends to celebrate the holidays. When we are spending hundreds of dollars on a meal, we expect to be treated like any other group coming in earlier in the day without being rushed out the minute we are seated. They need to get their stuff together!

An elevated neighborhood spot with a relaxed, trendy vibe, solid brick oven pizzas and yummy, homemade pastas (albeit tiny in portion size) Been here several times for dinner and once for brunch. Highlights: - spicy jawn pizza: spicy level of toppings is decent, not too spicy. And the crust is so fluffy and chewy with the nice char - pappardelle with lamb ragu: noodles are light and not overly thick, ragu sauce is savory and not gamey at all - ricotta cavatelli: small portion but pasta had a good chew and light mushrooms sauce is flavorful Less enthused: - char grilled calamari: it was overall fine but felt a bit rubbery, had better elsewhere - Odd ordering rule: half of our party late and Altho we asked to order some apps, we were told that we had to order our full order at once. Can understand they have a process in place but seemed excessive to restrict your customers from ordering apps Pro Tip: Try to reserve a table at their outdoor garden seating area but it books up fast -- on a nice night out, it's the best way to dine here And try not to be late bc they won't let you order apps if some of your table is running behind.

This spot has been on my list for far too long. A friend was leaving town, I had news to celebrate, so we decided what better way to send her off than by a going away and celebratory dinner? I looked through dinner spots with tables available for that evening and when I saw WM Mulherin's had availability I suggested it. My friend immediately said "YES!" as this was on her list to try, too! I've heard such good things and so maybe that contributes to my overall being pretty underwhelmed by the food and service at W.M. Mulherin's. We arrived on time for our reservation, we were seated promptly, and then waited a while to be greeted by our server. I think it noticeably took a while because another server stopped in to drop off water and said our server would be with us soon. Eventually our server visited our table and took our drink order. I ordered the Tiny Dancer cocktail, my friend ordered the Pimm's A Vibe, and our boyfriends ordered a beer and a glass of wine. The wine was served quickly, and then we waited a pretty long time for our cocktails and beer. The bar did look pretty backed up, we were seated nearby and watched as the two bartenders worked through all of the orders. To eat, we decided to share everything. We ordered a green salad to start, then the Frank White and Spicy Jawn pizzas, and then the caramelle, ricotta gnudi, and fazzoletti pastas. The quantity of dishes we ordered was the perfect amount to leave us satisfied but not full. I personally hated the green salad, my friends didn't mind it but did not love it. I thought the pizzas were a highlight of the meal and the saving grace for this evening. The pastas were good, but the portions were pretty small for the price point. I get the allure of a pasta tapas vibe, but they were not the best or even that great. My favorite was the fazzoletti. The gnudi was too dense, the lobster meat was sparse, and there were only 5 total pieces of the pasta itself. I did enjoy the caramelle but, again, small portions. Overall, I wish that I would have chosen another dinner destination for this specific occasion. I think the cocktail menu is great, and would consider coming back for the pizza and a drink if I ended up in the area. However, there are so many other spots... the slow service paired with the 'just okay' food experience leaves me thinking I won't return.

Really enjoyed the pizza the last time I went. It's Brick Oven style with a lot of flavor. I haven't been here for brunch but that looked good as well.

Love Wm Mulherin. Travel into the city just to eat there. Pizzas are a little thick crusted for my taste, but quality ingredients and delish. Pastas are fabulous and a fair sized portion. Bread is fabulous. Sunday brunch is a small menu but very tasty. Omelets, egg Benedict, pastries and other items. A must go to place. Very nice staff and a beautiful bar with pleasing ombience.

Delicious food at reasonable prices and generous portions. Lunch - chicken Milanese - was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

It's not the /best/ Italian food you can have stateside but this is a solid option. We enjoyed their focaccia so much we ordered another one in lieu of dessert (also, I recommend more interesting dairy free selections for us lactose intolerant folks since those of us out on a date night would order to not be gassy later on.) I felt like the whipped ricotta was an OK pairing with the bread; the price point warranted a more interesting spread selection and perhaps something pickled, but admittedly the bread itself is fabulous and fresh out of the oven. The crudo was delicious as was the lobster pasta (house made, plenty of lobster) but neither had the je ne sais quoi that has me dying to go back. Pacing was good, service was attentive, drinks were solid. Looking forward to trying the spicy jawn on a day my date agrees to be gassed under the covers.

Service was great. Came in with my partner at around 7:30 and were lucky enough to find seats at the bar. Ambiance is amazing, it gives off speakeasy while also being a great spot for good food. We tried the Calamari, the Burrata and the Focaccia. All were great but I think its a bit odd to not include bread with the burratta. If its a ploy to also get you to buy the focaccia its a bit cheap in my opinion. Then we got the Carbonara and the Margherita pizza. The pizza was perfect, great sauce and the crust had a wonderful crust to it. I must admit the carbonara was a but disappointing, felt like a carbonara that Id mess up at home and not something Id have served to me at a restaurant. Don't get me wrong, it was good and we ate all of it but we felt like it was missing something. The service was also impeccable . Sorry we didn't catch your name but to the taller gentleman with the long hair and glasses behind the bar, you nailed it my friend, thank you. Also make sure you try the drinks theyre all fantastic and the espresso martinis here have a nice twist to them that we didn't expect.

This place reminded me of another place we have dined at in Philly- Barbuzzo. Both are known for their pizzas and pastas. I think I liked this restaurant a little more though. The cocktails were expertly crafted as well as some of the best cocktails bars in Philly. The pasta is fresh and homemade. Our waitress told us me and my husband we should split about 3-4 plates between us since they're small portions. I told him 3 pastas were probably more than enough but he wanted to get pizza too so we did. The pizza was pretty tasty- they have a pizza oven there they make them fresh. I didn't want to fill up on that though since we ordered 3 pastas. The pasta my husband and I bought fought over the pasta that we knew was going to be the best- it was the Malfadine carbonara which was delicious. Then we also got the gnudi pasta which looked like big gnocchis. This was good but there wasn't much substance to the pasta it was pretty much all cheese. And we also got a sweet potato ravioli type pasta with brown butter. I think I like it better when it's butternut squash ravioli as it's a bit sweeter. But overall we enjoyed our meal, our drinks. Service was good

Food was amazing, we had pizza, calamari which was fried but instead in a pesto type sauce it was so tasty! We also had the burrata dish with bread that we LOVED! The staff was amazing especially Juan the bartender at the bar. He made our visit so great that we went back a second time during our trip. Definitely recommend!
