Wok On the Wild Side

I've been hear several times and have ordered various things. The best option this place has going is the fried rice, it always hits with the flavor it lacks a little in salt. TODAY, I ordered Thai, Fried Rice, Shrimp Fried Rice, and house fried rice no Shrimp..but that is not what brings me here. I've always been skeptical that I was overcharged but never really took the time to press the issue since they old, and nice and Im always hungry and ready to go.. what always peaked my suspicion is the type of reciept they give.. its never been itemized. We'll, today I had the time I ordered 3 fried rice places which totaled $56, I was charged $62.70.. I whipped out my handy dandy calculator and sho nuff I was overcharged 1.00 and some change.. I questioned her about it and she gave me my .only back in cash.. but Im wondering how many people are getting overcharged.. most people dont ask for reciepts and thats when you get got.. it adds up.. Yall be careful and watchful...

All I can say is Boo!!! I was not impressed at all!!! For the amount of money I spent and the food was not even worth shame on you guys you charge 75.00 for food that should have been no more than 30 dollars for 2 people we will not recommend nor come here again!

I’m sad to say that I was on my lunch break … and I was given old food the shrimp were sticky and had gravy build up around it like it was in the fridge from a old batch of shrimp and it was not fresh at all .. I’m appalled that you guys even had the courage to sell food like that honestly…. Some people don’t need to sell food anymore seriously people work hard for there money and if the passion is gone .. be done with it …

My first visit to Wok on the Wild Side. The greeting wasn't friendly however when I returned to pickup the food the cashier's greeting was much friendlier. The food taste good however it's a lot more than I wanted. The smoked Salmon fried rice was good but very little Salmon and if that was their plan, then the rice is overpriced. The egg flower drop soup is good but double what I could possibly consume in one meal. The cost if for two perfect however for one overpriced $29.

It's good. The rice is a meal itself. I ordered curry chicken fried rice with vegetables, egg rolls and a thai tea. The vegetable egg rolls are on the salty side in my opinion so just becareful.

My first time here after overlooking this place many times. The shrimp lo mein is phenomenal and cooked to perfection. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu! Carry cash, there’s a $3 service fee on the card.

FYI.. They charge $1.00 more if you use a c.c. under $20.00 which I wasn't aware of; however, the owned did apologize for not telling me in advance so I do appreciate her apology. The food is far more than enough for several people. I didn't expect so much food. It's hot off the wok so it's steaming hot with a side of rice. I ordered the chicken with seasonal veggies I.e. kale, cabbage, greens, broccoli, mushrooms. It looks delicious and smells 😋

Jerk Chicken Chow Mein, jerk chicken fried rice made with brown rice, barely, flaxseed, and quinoa. FIRE!!!! So damn good!!! The shopping center gets crowded so parking can be tricky. Nothing fancy here just 100% flavor.

This is my favorite place to get lunch around the neighborhood I work in. The couple that run this restaurant are very nice people and the food is great. They have a lot of variations of fried rice which I love to order, the smoked salmon fried rice is my favorite. They also make Thai iced tea and other drinks.

I won't come back nice owner my wonton soup wasn't good at all! I also had Kung pao beef wasn't good the owners only work there u can't dine in! Have to take food to go and the husband is the cook had the Thai tea wasn't good either! Plenty of parking. But that's it

My favorite go to for comforting, healthier, flavorful, Chinese cuisine. Everything I've had here tastes soulful, whole, and fresh like homemade. Today I wanted a healthier option for dinner and as usual I'm never disappointed. The seasonal mix stir fry was piping hot freshly made and perfectly seasoned! they were cooked but still had slight crunch and substance. The mixed grains were a perfect match for these. The egg rolls are my guilty pleasure, so crispity (yes crisp-ity spellchecker) crunchy and comforting Mmmmm good. I had plenty left overs for tomorrow's lunch! I usually order by phone for pick up, but today I just walked in and ordered and in less than ten minutes I was walking out with my order. Sorry no pic of the Thai Tea, I slurped it down while waiting and reading the bio of the celebrity patrons on the wall. Anybody heard of Lil Litty? Anyway, ORDER from here when you want good, wholesome, flavor and comfort Chinese flair.

Back then in like 2013/14 this place was good and fresh , it's always been over priced but it was KIND OF WORTH it back then even tho the woman taking orders came off very rude. Fast forward to 2024 ... service is still bad, they are still way too over priced $8 to add a meat is crazy. Not only that the fried rice was old ! Visibly and it taste old. $27 down the drain I will not be returning . It taste like they mixed old with new.

Excellent food, quality ingredients that are very tasty. Pretty quick service as well. It is a bit in the pricey side but again it is quality ingredients

Absolutely love this place. I've never had anything gross from this place. The menu is like no other Chinese restaurant. It's like Chinese food infused with the hood and I absolutely love it. Thai tea be soooooooo delicious. My favorite item on the menus is Jerk Chicken Fried rice

I would have given a higher rating except the portions are small and the prices are high. An older couple, likely owners, prepare orders fresh so have your patience on for a little extra wait. Also may require a 'culture' acceptance when it comes to customer service. Portion size stands out the most.

I love this place!!! Their food is so good. When I go I get the shrimp fried rice, the chicken chow mein and the veggie eggs rolls. So good! It's a couple who owns it the place. The lady always takes my phone order. She's nice but sometimes in a rush since she's doing it alone. The food is made when you order it so it's always fresh. The platters of food is enough to share. The inside of the business is dim and needs an upgrade, so not the best vibe but the food is delicious. 10/10 -food 8/10 - service

The food here is pretty decent but considering the price It's hard to order for yourself or for a family. Almost every dish costs at least $15.00 including soup! When I go to a Chinese restaurant I like to order a variety of items of items but this place makes it hard as 4 dishes can easily cost upwards of $80 I got the broccoli shrimp and it had a decent flavor however I was not impressed as the shrimp were very small ( (size of a nickel)) and overcooked. I have gotten bigger shrimp from other places at a lower cost. I also was not impressed because they gave me a ton of broccoli with about 10-15 small shrimp This dish was not worth $15.95 for me I also Tried the beef and broccoli and while they also gave a lot of broccoli on this dish this one actually a decent amount of beef.. however i wasnt a big fan of the texture! Overall I would eat here if someone else paid but I wont personally be speeding my hard earned money here until the prices decrease

I really don't understand the bad reviews. We came in around 7:45 given the hours said they were open until 9. When we entered she said they would be closing at 8, but would still serve us. Given this is a local spot, not surprising they would close early if it's slow (just keep this in mind when ordering!) They had our to-go order ready in like 15, and everything was AMAZING!! The kung pao chicken and the fried rice were the highlights. Definitely worth checking out!

Tried this place on a recommendation.... The food is so fresh. The egg rolls are crispy and delicious. The place is still set up like covid times. So it's to go orders. Everything I've gotten was delicious. The shrimp fried rice is on point. A must try!!

Lovely married couple good food garlic string beans are a favorite. Good way to get your veggies. Fried rice yummy shrimp, salmon fried rice excellent. Ty tea excellent.

This place is a waste of your hard earned money. This place is overpriced, one bite of the shrimp I spit it out instantly. 20 dollars for dry old jerk chicken rice is ridiculous. Please, please, please don't waste your money and don't risk your health.

My favorite Chinese food place! Big portions and even bigger flavor. My go toos is the chicken and broccoli, thai fried rice, and jerk chow main.

WOTWS increases their prices damn near every other month! However, I do appreciate when the Husband cooks because he cooks well. The wife and her lousy ass attitude stopped me from spending my money here years ago. She would take your order over the phone and give you a pick up time when it would be ready, but when you came to pick it up after waiting, it would not be ready because their policy was to cook your food after you paid! Giving a false sense of gratification to customers when they come to get their food let me know they don't value their customers time. Be upfront about the payment policy so people will pay and wait instead of taking orders over the phone only to waste their time 2 hours later.

The food is delicious and the service is great! I found my new favorite Chinese food spot for sure!

Spicy chicken wings are disgusting and are party wings with some weird flavor.. these were horrible.. Their chow Mein is decent

Attention Everyone ‼ This place I would never go to or spend my money with them ever!!! This lady was so rude with all her customers, she threw the money at the one lady and it was her first time there the lady said this will be my first and last time coming here smh and it was my second time at this place....So we asked her why she so rude and she told us she don't have time to talk to us if we don't like her customers service we can go and she don't have to service us she also said I'm not asking y'all to spend y'all money here I couldn't believe it I stood there for a minute and then I told her I will never come here again and I've changed my mind i not buying nothing and walked out.... I don't understand these restaurants with poor ass costumer service this lady was honestly ridiculous I know she don't care and I don't care either it's wasn't cool at all on so many levels I don't care how good the food is or how long they been there for years right is right and wrong is wrong! I will never patronize this place again. The cashier that I think may be the owner has a nasty attitude and rude. When I walked in, she threw her hand up at me as if she can wait. It wasn't a pleasant greeting. I should have walked back out the door then. I walked to the counter and placed my order for Jumbo Shrimp fried rice and a lunch special or broccoli shrimp. She slammed the pen and receipt down. But never offered a receipt. When my food was ready, I asked for a receipt. She argued that she couldn't give me one buy yet I paid with my debit card. She said I can write u a receipt. It was for a price of $26 not the $28 I had paid. It wasn't a detailed receipt at all, just the price. I get home nearly 20 minutes away, only to see my order wasn't correct. I received the broccoli shrimp but was given fried shrimp instead of my jumbo shrimp fried rice. I called in about the mistake. Soon as she answered the phone and heard my complaint, she began raising her voice, telling me that's what I ordered. I said ma'am I did not. She went back and forth with me and said bring the fried shrimp back if I want the fried rice and I have to pay the difference. No problem but at this point, I don't want anyone with this demeanor cooking, serving or overseeing a meal for me. So I already knew I didn't want my order. When I walked in she was pissed and handed me the $26. Fine, but ma'am u didn't charge my card $26. She began to raise her voice and argue with me again. With me having no receipt but the 1 she wrote out. I had to open my phone and she her my bank account of what she charged me. By now, she was livid. She acted as if she could see the charge because she was looking at all my other transactions. So by now, she goes thru her spindle of receipts and found mine. Looking surprised, never apologizing because she seen the mistake and I was overcharged from what she gave me. She says in a rude tone. I will just cancel and reverse your charge. I said and don't forget your food, it's right there on the counter. Have a nice day.

Great won ton soup I haven't tried anything else staff nice location is clean I always go for won ton soup oh yea it's a lil pricey

Took my coworker there and now she wants it all the time. The facts that it's fresh and ready when on time is a plus. I get the same thing all the time combination rice spicy or chicken and broccoli spicy cause that's my favorite I always say I'm gonna get something different but I don't.

So everything is Covid safe here. The distance between guest and no tables out right now to dine in. But the business is thriving. Thank God!!! My mother has been shut in for 12 months and this was her first Take Out" request. And I gotta please the queen, of course. Things are a little more pricier than pre-shut down but the servings are ginormous! I ordered the House Special Chow Mein - and Shrimp Fried. I only have the shrimp fried rice this morning as u can see in the photos below. I added it to my breakfast is am. Delicious all over again. Please support this business. I will try to keep more businesses in mind as things open up more and more. Enjoy the pictures and the pic of my queen mom. Remember: Don't Yelp only when bad things happen.

It was definitely wild getting Chinese food here, the food were ok, the portions were also ok, but wow I never had to pay this much for Chinese takeout, $3.50 extra if I want brown rice, then my total came out to almost $50 for like fried rice and sautéed veggies, yikes To blame this on the rising of cost, possibly, but it could be the restaurant itself. I read a few reviews saying the lady was rude and moody depends, but so far I think I got on her good side, she gave me plenty of foods, but the price was total gnarly lol. Also it's funny when the sign said no MSG cook to order, but I bet there was MSG involved, I got super thirsty after, and the tip of my tongue was extremely numbed, maybe I need to tell her next time to ease up on the salt. Well, better come hungry next time I was so bummed out they didn't have the garlic string beans available at the time of my visit. But definitely something they cook with soul in the hood right here. Second time I was told I was the only Asian customer lol, based on the look of it, most customers came eat here were African American, they got a wall of famous people on their wall including Coolio yep. No seats inside, so you have to take your food somewhere to eat, or eat in the car if you were in a hurry

I popped in this little Chinese restaurant that I have passed many times and wondered why it is so busy. Well, I got my answer. This place is one of those " HIDEN GEMS"! I ordered the Fried Jumbo Shrimp and Garlic Green Bean and was served one of the most delicious and perfectly cooked Chinese to go meals I have ever eaten. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and breaded. The Green Beans were covered in a exceptionally well homemade garlic sauce. I have owned a restaurant and understand the balance of flavors in a good sauce but this one is unforgettable. This little spot is worth every penny you spend as they clearly go the extra mile to differentiate themselves from the typical " Chinese to-go". If that's not enough, the parking situation is super easy making my choice to go back when craving Chinese a very easy decision.

It was trash from beginning to end... 1. Person up front had waaay too much attitude. 2. Had to instruct her not to rush me. 3. Shrimp fried rice was T.R.A.S.H. Not even water could wash the days old and under cooked rice from my teeth. Four old Shrimp. Trash. Trash. Trash. NEVER AGAIN! If you eat there, you are sure to take a wok on the wild and definitely on the wrong side! If I could have given ZERO stars, I would have!

I've been grabbing lunch here when at work for a number of years, and almost always enjoyed it very much. Decent pricing with specials always available and quick service.

Food tastes great and fresh. Service is always friendly and d it's cooked fresh so it may take longer but worth the wait

Although I have had their food and it is tasty, I rarely visited because 1. The lady that takes the orders is curt and not very sociable 2. The prices are crazy! I know they are in Inglewood but sheeesh! 3. The parking lot is crazy with rare instances of finding a spot. BUT Today, i attempted to order here and when I asked a question about if they had a food item, the woman on the phone said to me "why dont you look at the menu on yelp, I posted it on there so you can see what you like." Sadly, I did look at the menu, I was driving trying to make the order to save time and forgot if i saw it or not... But who cares! If its my first time sell me on that ONE menu item, not refer me to yelp!

First time trying this location and I must say I will never be back. The customer service was awful. I asked for extra soy sauce the lady literally gave me two packets. I order the chicken and broccoli with rice ( which had no flavor what so ever ) and Snapple and my total was over $13. I asked how to my total get to $13+ when I ordered a lunch special, she replied they charge $1 for using debit cards smh. I have picture as well so you can see how bland their food is. You can imagine they lack of taste and flavor

This place used to be an Inglewood gem, now this place lost its touch. Past few times my order has been either given away, cancelled or mixed up! Also last time good was over cooked. There's no seating. If you do go I suggest shrimp fried rice spicy.

I used to love this place when I was younger. It seems that the quality has declined over time. That, or I've developed an actual palette and know better now. (It's the latter.) I got the Thai fried rice the last time I went. Disappointing. THAT was my last time. There are so many better options out there.

Very good food. I wish though that "Wok On The Wild Side" would add cauliflower fried rice to the menu. Since I've started living a low carb way of eating. I have not visited here.

This is a family owned business that pays close attention to the community they serve. The various food dishes offered here reflects this well. I enjoyed the garlic string beans, the house soup, the house chow mein, and the crab fried rice. As far as the service, I like how they are very personable. I gave it four stars because it is a little on the pricey side.

Giving two stars because the food is okay. I got charged $65 for 3 dishes. I paid for extra egg and no eggs whatsoever were included in the dish. The lady behind the counter argued with me because I ordered by number from the menu. Welk, why are the numbers there??? I see another reviewer was directed to Yelp. She never told me to go to Yelp which would've cut out the confusion and not caused an argument with a customer. Instead, I was threatened that any wrong item I would have to pay for. If you're reading this, check this out, $16 ain't ish to an Inglewood resident nor are your idle threats however, I had to be the bigger person and diffuse the situation when it should've been her. Visit at your own risk. Be ready for a fight.

The INFAMOUS Chinese lady strikes again. She is clearly the business owner but after time and time again I have noticed that there is clearly something wrong with this lady. When you try to substitute something it's a 50/50 chance she won't do it. It will depend on how she feels that specific day. She makes up the rules as she goes, hypocritical, unfiltered, unprofessional and rude as hell. If she can not clearly communicate with you or she does not want to waste any of her "time" she will go off on you. They need to put her in the back and have someone new take over with more of an upbeat attitude. CAUTION: ORDER AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I like the food but not enough to keep coming back to horrible customer. It's hard to try to support the small community places like this. The lady who owns this place is always so rude and annoyed if u ask for anything aside of what she already put in the bag. I get she's probably tired. But shoot I am too. Don't think I'll be back to bring my hard earned money.

I hadn't been here for over 11 years. I used to live across the street on Plymouth. I was so happy to see them still in business all these years later. The couple that owns this place are so sweet. Their food is just as it was 11 years ago. I had the hot link fried rice, and it was amazing. I love the hot and sour soup. Best soup of its kind, in my opinion. I will agree that their pricing is a little on the higher side, but their portions are big. I think the portions are meant to be shared. I brought leftovers home and had food for 2 days, so it's worth it to me. Highly Recommend.

These people here are so.cheap and over priced. They literally have a sign that says " because the price of everything is high, we only give 1 sauce" #1. How much more tacky can you be? #2. Soy sauce has to be the ketchup of the Chinese food world, how cheap of them. #3. They're too pricey to be making just ok Chinese food

This is my second time trying this food, and I was disappointed once again! The food is not good at all. This was the Kung Pao Shrimp! Absolutely horrible!

This place is terrible! Don't come here if you want authentic or anything mildly resembling authentic. Panda is more authentic than this! The cream cheese and "crab" wontons are a joke! They put carrots to look like crab and the amount of filling is laughable. So for $8 bucks for 10 is steep! They're tiny overall NOT worth it. I got the jumbo shrimp fried rice and it came with 7 shrimps.... it was 15 bucks! Save your money and go to panda, it's not authentic but at least it's not ridiculously priced and actually tastes a lot better than this!

Two thumbs! Don't listen to the naysayers and go get your D-licious & Made-to-Order grub on. You can't go wrong with any of their fried rice varieties. I mean come on... Bacon, Hot Link, & Jerk Chicken???... need I say more! And boy, can C.G. can throw down on his Green Dragon Chicken! It's different in a real good way with an even balance of chicken, onion, & potatoes. Don't sleep on the string beans either; the portion size is massive and can feed a few for a good side dish. We ask for everything SUPER, SUPER SPICY and they know just how to bring that heat. Been coming here for years and never had a bad experience.  Support these small businesses and not a chain.

Me and my family came twice during our weekend stay and our experience was once again, GREAT! The food is consistent and hasn't changed one bit! Li and C.G. do a great job treating us and their customers like family. They are truly friendly and loyal to their service. Food is still served on time, full of flavors, and high quality. I recommend ordering an assortment of dishes because everything is high quality and tastes sooooo good! Some things I suggest ordering are their shrimp fried rice, shrimp chow mien, orange chicken, wonton soup, Mongolian beef, etc. You will not be disappointed. Portions match prices! For something different, I totally recommend ordering their smoked salmon fried rice. The salt from the salmon gives flavor and is served with generous portions. I've never had this type of fried rice before! The last time we came here was approximately two years ago and since then, the food hasn't changed one bit. Honestly, this is the best Chinese food I've had. I've had plenty of great Chinese food but nothing tops Wok On The Wild Side for me and IDC! I'll be back for more updates!

I absolutely Love their hot link fried rice. Its always piping hot & it's very flavorful. Hot links aren't too spicy, but they have the right amount of spice for the dish. And the hint of garlic is magnifique! It's a must try.
