Wolfe Island

Amazing place in the lap of nature. Very beautiful place. You can feel serenity of the place by yourself. The ferry service by the government is also appreciable because it is accurate. Good arrangements by forest department too. Only thing is there is no phone network. Have a good vacation picnic here .

The only thing I enjoyed was the ferry ride. There is absolutely nothing on this island. There is a beach that you have to pay 15$ entrance per person and they won’t allow you to see what you are paying for. The ferry takes 20 min but you might have to wait hours to get out of the island. I would not recommend this airing your time on this island at all .

Love going to Wolfe Island. Its a very peaceful place for a long drive and relaxing. I have seen a couple deers in the past. Love the ferry ride. Definitely someone I recommend people to go if you visit Kingston Ontario.

Beautiful, nice little island; if you’re in Kingston, this can be added to your trip for enjoyment purposes. The best time to visit the island are on a sunny day in summers. Be sure to check the kingston-wolfe Island ferry timings to accommodate it in your travel. It has a nice country side view, a paid beach and places where you can go near the wind mills, they are gigantic. The ride itself is long, depending on which route you take, and the end of both roads leads to US-Canada port.

Big Sandy Bay: Wolfe Island, Kingston. We had a visit on this Island 2 weeks before. Big Sandy Bay is one of the great beaches of Lake Ontario. How to go: From Toronto around 3 hour drive to Kingston and 20 minutes ferry ride to reach the Island. There might be bit long line up for the the Ferry so keep enough time on hand both way. After getting off from the ferry another 15 minutes drive to the parking lot of the Bay. Alternately You can leave your car in Kinston mainland and can bike to the beach from the ferry terminal. Park in the lot or lock your bikes at the gatehouse. The 1.3-kilometre nature trail takes you to the beach. Cost: There is a $15 park entrance fee for adults, with discounts for bikes, families, children, and frequent visitors. Attractions: Sandy beach, Blue water, easy hike through nature, Ferry Ride through the Islands. Food: we didn’t find any restaurant in that beach side, So take your food and drinks from Kingston. Tips: The parking lot is small, so try for early morning plan. The beach become very hot so beach umbrella is highly recommended. Make sure your car has enough gas filled before going to the island.

Nothing to do on the island... One overpriced park and thats it ( it's a good beach but $20/person is outrageous. Take the ferry over for a meal go for a walk and you're done.

Overall not a great experience for me. Haven’t make it to the Big Sandy Bay beach. For whoever coming, do go to the parking lot for the beach, instead of to the beach directly. Also keep in mind it closes at 6 and I heard you get to pay a fee around 10 box for the access (might be wrong). Besides, the ferry entry point has also changed, if you want to get back to Kingston, go back to the place where you get off the ferry to the island. ( at least this is the case on July 31 2022) Come early! Otherwise, you will wait for the next boat (only 55 cars capacity) And it’s embarrassing that every “good” place next to the lake is “private” or “no access”, and hard to find a place to get out of the car. But I did enjoyed the scenery on the island, even when driving around and that’s the only reason for an extra star. Wish to have some bike rental services, etc and hope it to become a great place to go to in the near future.
