Google
We had a reservation - which I highly recommend as the wait can be very long at this popular restaurant. Excellent food as always. Even on a rainy cold summer day - this is the place to be! Had a great family lunch and the 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the summer salad with salmon

Google
Been coming here with my family almost my entire life. The seafood here is incredible, cannot recommend these enough: the fish & chips, fish sandwich, herb crusted haddock, salmon, and penne vodka. Gorgeous views and great food!

We moved to Wolfeboro almost a year ago and quickly became regulars at the restaurant and all winter long at their awesome fish market. Regardless of how busy the restaurant is, the food is always cooked to perfection and the service is terrific. Most of their servers and bar staff return every season. Its not a fancy place but it always feels like home. Kudos to Amy and her husband for creating such a welcoming environment for locals and visitors alike!

Google
I had the scallop plate. Very good. I've had better fries. I'm not a fan of the skinny fries, but the taste was fine. The outdoor chairs are for relaxing. Comfy when sitting back relaxing, but if you're of small stature you'll need to scooch forward when eating. Great scenery, nice experience, reasonable prices, good food. Oh, and the tartar sauce was different. A very good different. Maybe there's lime in it? I don't know, but both my mom and I liked it more than the standard tartar sauce.

Google
Delicious food, but the welcome could use some warmth We’ve always enjoyed the food here—it’s consistently great. However, getting our preferred table is often a challenge, even when other tables remain empty for long periods. It would really elevate the experience if the greeting felt more welcoming, rather than giving the impression that our presence is an inconvenience. A little hospitality goes a long way.

Google
We came by for dinner on June 20th, and I want to take a moment to recognize Lynne, the manager/hostess. She was absolutely outstanding. Having worked in the food and beverage industry for many years, I can confidently say she is one of the most professional and courteous staff members I’ve ever encountered. Despite a number of customers being rude and impatient, Lynne handled each situation with grace and composure. Her professionalism and demeanor truly stood out. If I were hiring, I would bring her onto my team in a heartbeat.

Google
I have been going to Wolfetrap for many years and love the menu, food and atmosphere especially the outside seating. The last two times I did find the host stand staff to be rude. During my last visit in particular, the hostess treated myself and my husband with some of the most rude behavior I have ever encountered at a restaurant. I do understand it was busy and the staff seemed stressed but this has left a lasting impression.

Google
We found this place off of Google maps and went there because it had good ratings. We were not disappointed. Callie was on a server and she was so helpful and nice. The food was absolutely amazing and came out faster than we even thought they could make it. In fact, all the food that came out on the plates around us looked amazing too. Even though this place is a little off the beaten path, it was almost packed and rightfully so. We are so glad we found this cute little restaurant on the water. Great atmosphere, friendly customers and friendly staff. Wish we lived around here to make this a regular! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Make sure to call ahead for a reservation any night of the week. It's a larger spot but they do not have many servers so you'll often see empty tables. The wait on a Saturday at 5 was fifty minutes. We asked if we could order drinks or some appetizers for the kids to pick on and we never got an answer. Seating at the bar was really hard to get also. There was only one little spot to stand and wait for a drink and it took a very long time. Once you're in though, the food it's great and there is a nice view of the lake. You may even get to see some water skiers working on their jumps. There are some picnic tables out near the boats if you're just coming back from a day on the lake. Prices were reasonable, large portions and everyone left full. I had the fish sandwich. It was a fresh filet, lightly batter and lots of fries.

Yelp
My friend and I were drawn here looking for a lunch spot that was dog friendly. The servers were so kind and accommodating and brought out a bowl of ice water for our pups. It's a beautiful restaurant right on Back Bay. You can pull right up to the dock on your boat or jet ski and hop off for a great meal. I had the fisherman's platter with haddock, scallops, clam strips and fries and everything was cooked perfectly. Fried seafood can be hit or miss, but it was lightly seasoned, battered well, and the fish was very obviously fresh. I would recommend it for anyone visiting the Wolfeboro area!

Yelp
Fantastic local place away from the tourist downtown strip. Fresh seafood and good service most of the time. Great spot for lunch or dinner, definitely recommend reservations!

Yelp
The food was very good and it was hot. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had three problems; 1. It took nearly 40 minutes to get served. 2. The noise level was a little bit too high for my taste. 3. My meal's Mkt price was quoted to be $24, but I was billed $36. I was quoted for an "appetizer", but I was served the "platter" which included french fries($12). I told the server when she initially quoted the Mkt price that I didn't want french fries.

Yelp
Great local watering hole on the marina. Reservations recommended for dinner, even during the week. We waited about 20 minutes without reservations. Friendly staff, fun and casual atmosphere. Great food. Tried the clam pizza for an appetizer. Lobster roll was fresh and well seasoned. The bouillabaisse seafood was not a traditional bouillabaisse, closer to a cioppino. It was like a wonderful marinara sauce that had been turned into a thick soup loaded with seafood and it was wonderful. I'd order this again and again and again.

Yelp
Spectacular food and outstanding service! Made our last night of vacation so special thank you so much!!!

Yelp
This place is likely to be a true hidden gem and we were so lucky to have it recommended to us by Graham & Jacqueline at Lonewolfe Brewing Co.! Food, service & setting were simply amazing! Highly recommend the grouper tacos and the wedge salad, delicious!!!

Yelp
Wanted to go somewhere where the vibe is casual but the food is a notch above. Walked in on a Friday night around 6 pm and even though it was crowded we were able to get two seats at the bar. Started out with their signature bloody mary which was good but disappeared quickly as I guess I was parched. Started out with the mussels which has an outstanding broth. Wife and I split the fisherman's platter which included delicious haddock, scallops and clams. I added a couple of stuffed clams which were flavorful. Why not five stars you ask? Between drinks (domestic beers) and food, the bill reached $130 between the two of us. I reserve five stars now for out of body food experiences. All in all a very good meal and night out. I would recommend trying it out for lunch and sit on the outdoor deck on a nice low humidity day.

Cyndi V.

Yelp
Everyone enjoyed their plates Steamers fresh and sweet Parmesan encrusted haddock Lobster roll Thai salmon All recommended Waitress accommodating and knowledgeable. Lovely view Would definitely recommend and return

Rose V.

Yelp
Second visit this trip so my partner could get her lobster fix. We sat outside on a brilliant Autumn day. Service was attentive as usual and the meal was great. I had the swordfish tacos. Perfectly cooked fish, good flavour combination, and plentiful.

Yelp
Awesome seafood, great service pretty spot on the Back Bay. What's not to like? The only negative is it is really busy during peak summer hours.

Roger N.

Yelp
Four of us had dinner there. We ordered (2) shrimp platters dinners, 1 swordfish and 1 haddock dinner. Both shrimp dinners were overcooked and the fries were cold. We had to ask our server for silverware and napkins. She was totally oblivious to serving us. The ketchup bottle at the table was empty and when we asked for more she gave us a new bottle which required us to remove the inner seal before using it. At no point did our server ask how our meals were, and to add insult to injury when she brought our bill she emphasized how pleased she was that we had a great meal, which we did not. Not coming back anytime soon.

Chris S.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance were all fantastic! We ordered a stuffed clam and crab cake to share, both were very tasty. For an entree I ordered haddock tacos and my friend ordered a fish sandwich. Again, we both enjoyed our meals and I even brought a taco home! We went for lunch around 1:30 on a Thursday, the outside seating was full but there were plenty of seats inside, which was still very nice and casual. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I love Wolfetrap, great outdoor area and inside vibe. Delicious fried clams, steamers, chowder. I found the lobster tacos to be AWFUL. Unlike normal fish tacos, the lobster is served ice cold and unseasoned. So it is literally chunks of ice cold plain lobster sitting on a pile of iceberg lettuce on a thick, stale corn tortilla, with a drizzle of sriracha cream. The black bean and corn salad is on the side. These aren't tacos they are cold lobster on lettuce. I asked the server if it was correct and she said it was. I would normally at least eat all the lobster because...it's lobster. But I really couldn't eat much of it (not that the server cared to ask about). Moral of the story: If you want tacos get the fish tacos (not lobster). If you want lobster get a lobster roll or the steamed lobster. Don't try to combine them at this restaurant. P.S. Still giving 4 stars because one bad menu item doesn't ruin the restaurant which is still great :)

Yelp
Showed up at 7:15 and the hostess was incredibly rude. Said that the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes and they had too many orders. Is 7:15 pm not a normal dinner time anymore? The restaurant was 25% full with people. Very confused at this policy. Very disappointing. If you can't depend on a restaurant to be open for customers at 7:15 pm then don't waste your time even trying.

Yelp
We had our wonderful lobster at the bar and the lovely bartenders made the whole experience even better. If I didn't live in Georgia, I would be here often.`1

Yelp
Had this for Fourth of July and it was amazing! The seafood was perfect and blueberry pie was so delicious. The server was really kind and helpful when we were picking out the food order. Will come again!!

Darlene P.

Yelp
Consistently fresh, refreshingly satisfying meals. Good mix of apps and entrees. Uptown crowd, seasonal locals and tourists with a few real locals at the bar. Go with a group or go alone! Scoring the seat closest to kitchen kinda makes you feel like a cast member of Kitchen Confidential. Let's go boys!!

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Kind of expensive, but then again everything in wolfeboro is expensive. Great fish and chips, as well as raw bar and lots of other seafood choices.

Joyce B.

Yelp
Always delicious. My parents in from Arizona and had to choose one restaurant to go to and didn't disappoint. Service, food and atmosphere are all a ten(10)
google avatar

Alison L.

Yelp
Fantastic seafood! And great ambiance right on the water! My favorite was the bouillabaisse seafood stew, delicious and generous portion. The parm crusted halibut was sublime! And the swordfish was delicious as well! Come early! The place fills up.

Yelp
Still on a seafood kick when we arrived inn Wolfeboro, we tried Wolftrap Grill and Rawbar for dinner tonight. Good fried clams are something we do not find too often so that's what we ordered tonight. Wolftrap served whole belly clams where the breading was so light it didn't detract from the taste of the clams. Most of the clams in our serving were huge and meaty and tasted so good whether you used lemon, tartar sauce or just ate them as they came. I thought the serving size was fair given the price. Service was as fine as the food.

Yelp
Wolfetrap had delicious food, wonderful customer service, great location, and took serious precautions for COVID-19. It was a super busy Saturday with great weather right before Labor Day and the staff maintained such a professional and positive attitude. FIVE STARS! We just had a really bad experience kayaking and renting from Dive Winnipesaukee, everyone was feeling kinda off and Wolfetrap's hospitality and yummy food turned our day and moods around. We had a table of 8 and they managed to seat us within 30 minutes in a great outdoor table, right on the water. Our server gave great recommendations and checked in regularly on us. Everyone who worked at Wolfetrap wore their masks *correctly* (thank you!). The food matched the service and location. 1. Lobster roll - everyone really enjoyed it and said the lobster was fresh and meaty. From the picture you can see that the 1/2lb is HUGE! I think everyone envied our friend who ordered the 1/2lber. 2. Seafood bouillabaisse - W.O.W. I was crazy, I ordered this on a hot day and the flavours were fantastic. It's a broth and tomato base (no cream), full of mussels, shrimp, and scallops. I kept raving about this and would go back to Wolfeboro just so I can order this dish again. 3. Fisherman's platter - generous portion of fried seafood. If you're in the mood for Calabash-style fried seafood, this will hit the spot. Do yourself a favour and go to Wolfetrap. You can thank me later :)

Yelp
I've been going to the Wolfetrap since 2004.....initially, after college, it was the last bar open downtown and there was almost always something "interesting" happening late night. Recently, after some mild maturity, I've realized that this is a great restaurant with some amazing seafood and an even better view of this area overlooking Back Bay. My typical line is oysters for an app and the oddly satisfying Lobster BLT. Occasionally the swordfish, depending on the season. The staff is attentive and engaging, but my favorite part is watching them away from the scene.....laughing and busting each other's nuts. It's a staple of a comfy restaurant with a "team" of workers that are familiar with each other. The drinks are made well and the beer list is extensive and inclusive......I hate yellow beer (BL, IPA's, etc).

Yelp
Best seafood and service, not to mention the great atmosphere! The hostess is so friendly and accommodating! I would highly recommend Wolfetrap!! You will not be disappointed!

Deanna K.

Yelp
This review is for the Wolfetrap Fish Market. Please beware: if you are on vacation and looking for lobster...the cost here in July 2023 was $22 / LB!! Shocking!!

Yelp
Great food, even better location. Me and my girlfriends went to East Wakefield for a long weekend and we found this place right on a side road from downtown Wolfeboro. We were looking for a place on the water, good drinks, and fresh seafood. This place nailed all three things. Extremely fresh everything!

Maggie C.

Yelp
Heard lots of good things about this place but have not been wowed. First time visiting shared a fisherman platter, it was just ok, nothing spectacular. Second time was put off right from the beginning. Had a 30 minute wait so went to the bar to get a drink. There were 5 people behind the bar and 8 people sitting at the bar. Waited 10 minutes for one of the 5 to acknowledge me and at least say "I'll be with you in a minute ". But no! No acknowledgement and after 10 minutes I walked away. With 5 behind the bar, there was no reason for this! Finally sat down to eat, had fried oysters for an appetizer which were very good. ordered fried clams and a side salad which was very good. Husband had fish and chips which he said was just ok. Since we find few places that wow us in the area, will probadly try Wolftrap again but hope they can figure out the bar service.

Heather K.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants at the lake -- unfortunately if you aren't there at 5PM you won't get a spot for dinner. Wait times consistently exceed an hour if you're lucky! During the summer they have young hostesses who are usually very sweet and apologetic. The older woman who I think might be a manager may be the rudest person in the the lakes region. She will see you approaching and shout at you that they're done taking tables for the night -- at 6:15PM on a Thursday. Pro tip: take reservations so you can adequately space out the rush and take a few walk ins! Such a shame that this restaurant operates like this when they are losing money because of poor table management and reputation amongst long time patrons. Kindness goes along way. A rude lady at the front representing your restaurant does not.

Janet P.

Yelp
Food was good. However, they brought our entrees a few minutes after delivering our appetizers. We had to hurry to eat our appetizers so our entrees wouldn't get cold while sitting on the table waiting for us to finish our appetizers. The whole meal felt very rushed. Not a pleasant, relaxing experience.

AMAZINGLY YUMMY !!!!! Great strawberry mule with a Deeeeeeeeeelicious Lobster Roll ! Even the French Fries were Crisp and not a bit greasy or limp -We enjoyed Salad and Soup there too ! Yelp
Our favorite restaurant to come to every year for a great seafood dinner. This year Madison was our server and she was fantastic as was everyone else. Definitely worth the wait.

Yelp
Great casual place on the lake. The summer salad was amazing and my halibut was fantastic. The service was great. We will definitely return next time we're in the area.

Yelp
Good food and beer! Lobster roll is very good. Good menu choices! Will definitely be a go to spot

Yelp
We've been here once before. Think I wrote a very positive review but this place deserves an update. Same scenario: Sunday drive toward water in search waterfront dining and oysters. Bingo. It's on the cove side. Quieter but still, water and boat traffic which makes for peaceful time together. Sat at a table 3 feet from water. Oysters, crab cake & cold peel shrimp. No brainer. What makes the place special are the staff. Everyone is happy to see you, wants you to enjoy yourself and very attentive. Especially the young ladies who serve the tables. They help each other and seem to sincerely enjoy the teamwork of customer service. They know what they are doing and work quickly. All with a smile and suggestions. With the visit, no doubt.
google avatar

KT R.

Yelp
We picked up dinner at Wolfetrap on a Friday night in COVID times. They're nicely setup, with the hostess coming out to a counter outside for orders and pickup. We had the fish tacos (haddock) and the ceviche. Both were excellent! I don't understand some of the other reviews here. Considering COVID, our service was excellent, and we would come back for the food any time.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
We ended up here after a long weekend drive around the lake and we were not disappointed! The location is great, off a side street right in down town Wolfeboro. The restaurant sits on a little cove. Food and drinks were great! We got the seafood platter from the raw bar, haddock tacos, and lobster BLT. Would definitely go back!
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Really the best spot in the area. You will be paying a premium for the location and views, but if you're gonna go out.. go all out! Highly recommend the newest item, the bouillabaisse. Also you can't go wrong with old standbys like the salmon or fish tacos. Drinks are well made. Service is great. A special treat while vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee.

Eric B.

Yelp
Ever struggle about writing a review because the place was so great that you don't want it to become too popular? This place is the best I've been to in years - the food, location, service and value are all outstanding. Thanks for the best meal in all of NH !!!

Jenifer S.

Yelp
13 of us went to dinner here about a month ago. The place was pretty dead when we arrived so it wasn't busy at all. My eight-year-old daughter asked if they had a kids menu and the server very annoyingly replied with a no and walked away. There was no suggestion of something else she could order or something they could do to accommodate. We had to order her full-size menu item. The service was incredibly slow. Appetizers came out in a normal timeframe, but then we waited forever for the entrées. Three out of the 13 of us ordered fish and all three fish dishes were completely overcooked. My father couldn't even eat his and had to send it back. Definitely a disappointing experience overall.
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
I love this place! Hidden gem of the beaten path on the inlet. I Ordered the Bloody Mary witch was ok not much flavor. I also order the Stoli oyster that were amazing! It was a oyster with caviar, sour cream and stoli vodka. To finish I got the BLT lobster roll and I much say it was hands down the best lobster roll I've ever had.

christy o.

Yelp
Sometimes you have no choice but to believe that a restaurant doesn't want to make money or retain customers. That's pretty much how our group was treated. They did everything they could to make things inconvenient, difficult, and unpleasant. The 60's Ish blond haired (manager?owner? Who knows) woman who refused to let us sit at any of the empty outdoor tables while we had our drinks clearly knows NOTHING about common sense or customer service. What a complete jerk she was to us. We were shocked. Our friends, who have been there a bunch. said it's never been like this. The place lost hundreds of dollars just from us... we left and it would take a lot for us to go back. What a shame.
google avatar

Karen H.

Yelp
One of the best seafood places ever. Great prices. Lobster rolls can't be beat. Big chunks of lobster. Oysters are awesome. New England all the way! Outside dining by the water. Check it out. Bartender TJ was outstanding.

Lois G.

Yelp
Great service. Everyone welcoming. I had steamers and lobster dinner. Everything was fresh. My husband ordered fish and chips. Light batter, large portion and fresh and tasty!

Emily W.

Yelp
Been in the lakes region for years and this is always a summer spot to hit up!! Amazing lobster rolls and last week had some of the best oysters - very fresh. To those looking for reservations: this place has never previously taken reservations and only this summer (2021) started taking two per hour (call when they open at 10am to get one). Plan ahead and get there early- get a drink while waiting (can get one while waiting in the lobby area if bar is still closed per COVID). This is an awesome spot and worth the wait if you have time.

Jill W.

Yelp
Always our go to place in Wolfboro NH when we make our annual summer week vacation on Lake Winnipesaukee. Their BLT lobster rolls are outstanding along with their house fully loaded Bloody Mary

Yelp
This place is awesome fresh seafood very clean place service great! If you want fresh seafood this is the place. We will definitely be back again

Yelp
The wait was tough. It seemed short staffed due to the chaotic atmosphere from the workers. They stopped taking walk in traffic a few hours before close. I would recommend early afternoon to go. The regular oysters are the way to go. They have other ones with caviar on them but don't bother. They put 2 to 4 little eggs on each, lol it was comical. The lobster roll was decent and glad it didn't have celery in it. The view was cool and outdoor dining is nice by the water. Lots of activity on the water to watch

Lawrence T.

Yelp
excellent food. pleasant service .... very busy and crowded but fun....no reservations so plan to have outdoor cocktails for at least an hour
