Obviously under new management this place used to be awesome but now it's super greasy when before even on deliveroo it was amazing but now just utterly covered in grease, poorly battered not fresh tasting fish and terrible chips. Super bad packaging (chips swimming in grease packed under the dripping fish) and cold - will not be going back. Edit: full refund from deliveroo from the pics we sent them.

Excellent. Seating a bit limited is all I'd say. Get the kids cod and chips. 6 quid, very well cooked fish and perfect chips. Also, I noticed the cook cleaning his surfaces constantly, and the presentation, even for a kids portion, was careful.

Stumbled upon this place when I was starving hungry at like 2:30 in the afternoon. I was very happy to get super hot fresh food super quickly. I had a battered sausage and chips, the sausage was super nice quality and the chips were decent too. The prices were also very reasonable if you ask me. Hopefully I’ll find myself in the area and in need of food again because I wanna try the halloumi next!

Gluten free all day everyday! Amazing 👏 Friendly staff cooked our food to order. Delicious fish and crisp batter. Clean establishment and comfy seating area. I loved how so many random people came in and no one bats an eyelid. That is the essence of being cool 😎 Thank you, I will be travelling specially back here despite living in Horsham as damn it is worth it.

25/8/23- The owner was very rude.. he asked me why I did not collect the food that I had paid for the previous day. I told him that I was helping somebody who had been involved in a road accident. He was irritated, completely ignored my explanation and told me the restaurant could have resold the food. Please note when I had tried to collect my food on 24/8/23 before 10:00, I was told the food had been thrown away. I was asked to return the following day with my receipt to collect a fresh order. 25/8/23 - I arrived at 17:00 on 25/8. The owner prepared the food and when it was ready for collection he handed me a paper wrapped cod & chips.(£11.95) I asked him if he could put it in a bag. He scowled and put the food in a plastic bag. I asked him if he could put the food in a Wolfies bag.. he scowled again and eventually repackaged the food. I was basically given off cuts of soggy, oil drenched chips with a piece of fish that tasted awful. It was terrible! Grey, cold, slimy fish that smelt very odd. Needless to say most of the food went in the bin. I contacted the restaurant who clearly could not care less. They completely dismissed my complaint. I have been to Wolfies 5 times since May 23. 3/5 times the food has been sub standard. Today’s experience was shockingly bad. Sadly there is no 0/5 option. Don’t waste your money. There are lots of far better Fish & Chips shops.

I ordered a large cod, large chips & mushy peas for £20. The fish was very small and the portion of chips was pathetic too. Complete rip off and not even tasty. This place has really gone down hill. Won't be going back.

Ok takeaway. Cod is pretty good. Seems to be two fillets stacked on top of each other inside the batter. No skin is also a bonus. The chips were pretty anaemic, needed another few minutes in the fryer to get some good crisp to the edges, also a few too many green potatoes mixed in the chips. The Curry sauce had good flavour.

Used to be excellent then it changed hands a few years back and every time we’ve been either the quality or the service has been awful. Last night we went for what will be the final time as when we got home we discovered they had forgotten to include part of our order (the kids food) and refused to deliver it to us despite it being their mistake, instead expecting us to make a 40 minute round journey to collect ourselves (we’d dished up all the other food and were literally sitting down to eat). It’s a shame because Wolfies used to be the kind of place we recommended regularly and took visiting friends and family to. Never again.

Yelp
Hands down the best fish and chips in Hove, East Sussex (not to mention they offer gluten and dairy free fish). I always visit here whenever I am in the area. The price is extremely good value for money and the staff are so friendly. Such a fabulous establishment in a fabulous area. It's also located super close to Hove train station. They only accept cash, however there is a cash point located in the train station.

Yelp
I'm pretty new to fish and chips shops so I'm not sure I'm in the best position to be writing a review of Wolfies, situated just down from Hove Train Station. However, my boyfriend is somewhat of a fish supper connoisseur and rates this place highly - as do my taste buds! Living just down the road I have had the great pleasure of trying Wolfies out on a couple of occasions, and have been impressed with the quality, flavour, price and friendliness of the team serving. Happy to help you choose between the plentiful fish options available, the staff are also quick to point out the provenance of each fish they sell, with the haddock I had most recently arriving fresh from the boat that morning. The fish itself is moist and flakey, encased in a light, crispy batter which is not in the least bit greasy. Chips are served in big portions (there's no need to order large portions). White bait and scampi are also available, as are the synonymous mushy peas and pickled onions. I hear there's a midweek lunch deal on offer too, so if you're in the area there really is no excuse not to give this place a try!

Yelp
Wolfies of Hove is a new fish and chip shop that opened Spring/Summer 2014. It's conveniently a stone's throw from Hove train station. It's got a trendy black tiled frontage to the shop so is quite noticeable. Also noticeable is the queue of people constantly in the shop (which is always a great sign!) and the very tempting whaft of fish and chips as you walk past. It's trendy and tempting, and actually looks pretty classy for a fish and chip shop. So I have been here 3 times in the last 3 or so months. I was lured in by the sign saying homemade pies. A very nice change to the bog standard 'pucker' pie. Admittedly I have eaten the chicken and mushroom pie everytime and not tried their steak and ale, or steak and kidney. On appearance the pie looks a little anaemic, but boy the taste is gooood. Hence having eaten it 3 times. So much nicer being homemade and at a reasonable price of £2.50 for their pies. Chips are £1.50/£2. Quite frankly the small portion is very generous and I'd never get through a larger portion. The chips are good too. Again they may look a little pale, but no crispy bits that are too tough to eat, which is good by me. I can't comment on the fish here, or sausages, or anything else as I haven't strayed from my favourite pie. Maybe I should branch out......I'll be back.

Yelp
Was not one of the best fish and chip shops I have been to; came in on a week night, and was clearly busy, the girl behind the counter had her hands full. We ordered fish and chips and battered sausage for take away.. when we got home to eat, the fish and chips were soggy and the fish was very dry. The drive was only minutes away and normally when we grab fish and chips, it is never soggy when we get home. The battered sausage however was very crunchy and had great flavor. Maybe it was an off night..

Yelp
It's a wonder that this Fish and Chip shop got an reward for good food. I tried this shop twice and the fish had nothing as a big shell of bread and inside nearly not well cocked and the chips oily and you had can do mash potatoes with them but very oily. The staff friendly but the question was why wiring gloves when going in their hairs , taking money , cleaning the nose etc... For me was it the second but last time ...

Yelp
I'm not the biggest fish and chips lover but these chips were absolute delicious ! Was recommended this place by the guy that painted the graffiti memorial for them down by London road , how much more Brighton style advertising could you get :) but yeah real clean place , good chips , not to greasy and friendly staff
