Wolseong Fortress

The Wolseong Fortess or Palace is mostly an excavation site. The moats (spelled as Welseong) and hills make for a pleasant walk and views. There are no significant structures except the Seokbinggo ice storage. There is a Silla Royal Palace Video Hall on the main road which shows a free 15 minute video about the site

It's an excavation site. Nothing much here. Just a nice walk around the park.

A nice peaceful garden which used to be a palace. Unfortunately nothing is left to see from the palace

Got here during twilight. Nice walk around the park and enjoy the cool breeze. Get your history fix at the same time.

Someone might find it empty here but the ruined ancient Shila dynasty is scattered all over the place. Such a nice and beautiful scenery walking around this complex. Very good for those like to hike.

worth to do a walk around the area, sunset is top notch

This is part of the large area that has many historical buildings and excavations that have reveled markings of Shila dynasty period. Large sites here are still being excavated and you can see these covered.

Many of the review pics are for the nearby palace, not the fortress, which is confusing. This is basically an excavation site.
