Wombat´s City Hostel Leipzig

That's just another level of 'hostel experience'. It is very settled and convenient house. Staff are so helpful and welcoming. It has a great location. Everything is organized very well and you feel it from the moment you go in. It is a good place for all age groups. You can walk to city center in less than 10 mins. I loved my stay in a private double room and can suggest it everyone.

I stayed here one night, en route to a somewhat professional meeting, and it was fine. The downstairs kitchen is very small but was cozy with a varied little crowd: a cinematic Peruvian business traveler, a vintage working class hero from the Balkans who made himself world class chicken, and a Dutch cosmopolitan who was bewildered by the strange outdated scenery in Leipzig.The location of this hostel is likely the best among the choices as it's situated very close to the railway station and a museum. The staff was exceptionally friendly, for European standards, so this was a big plus.The dorm I stayed in was the large one, but it's divided into three smaller rooms so it's rather quiet at night, which is good.

Ten minutes from the station and a warm welcome. We loved the bathroom en suite, the breakfast and the spiral staircase. The dorms were spotless and the views over the city, charming. Central location within easy reach of the churches, the university and the famous Gewandhaus.

This is a top notch hostel. One of the best that I have stayed in. I arrived slightly early (about 30 mins) but was still checked in quickly and easily by the friendly staff. I stayed in a 6 person female room. I love how the bathroom was attached to the room, but still far enough away from the beds that it wasn't awkward. It is the best hostel bathroom I have ever seen. Very clean, great shower, place to put your toiletries, lots of hooks for towels, and a stool to put your clothes on when you shower which was a great idea. The beds were clean and comfortable. I had breakfast here 3 times, it was good. Come early while everything is fresh and it isn't too busy. Amazing full kitchen. Perfect location. I could see the market platz from my room! Hostel is quiet at night. A few extra things that would be nice: A power plug at each bed (there were enough power points for everyone they just weren't located conveniently). A lamp for each bed. The lockers were a great size but there was a shelf inside splitting the locker so I couldn't fit my bag.

Good location, the kitchen is modern and very clean, my room on the 3rd floor was very quiet. the only bad surprise was that I have to pay to leave my luggage after checkout. also, the hostel was pretty empty, but our women only dormitory was almost full. maybe open more women only dormitories?

The staff was very friendly and very respectful. Spoke English and German. Saskia in particular was professional and very empathetic to my situation. I’m very grateful for how kindly I was treated. The price is a steal! Excellent price. Excellent kitchen, and staff. Only the locker in my room lacked a lock. So that disappointed me. I had to use another bunk’s locker. I was also a bit disappointed that the door was missing inside my room. But it might be due to maintenance or something. I also appreciated the staff telling off a roommate about washing his clothes in the bathroom. It stunk up the entire place. It is good that the staff can stand up for other customers. All in all. Very good service. 10/10. I recommend this place. Excellent location also. So I can’t complain about a few missing things.

Stayed here over the last few days. I had stayed at the Vienna branch in the past and I liked it a lot. The Leipzig branch was also nice, but it felt somewhat smaller and not as developed. No amenities such as a pool table or bar, as in the Vienna branch. I stayed in a six-bed dorm, which was only occupied by two other people for the first two days. The dorm was facing a very busy street and I could hear all the traffic noises, which continued throughout most of the night until the morning. With the windows closed, some of the noise was muffled but it would become unbearably hot in the room. I slept with earplugs every night because of the noise, and woke up covered in sweat because of the heat. My room (206) also didn't have a bathroom inside - it was located in the hallway, which was somewhat inconvenient. Other than that, the rooms were clean and the other guests were friendly and respectful. And for the price, I suppose it's good value for money. But at the end of the day it's still a hostel, so you get what you pay for.

Good choice. Kitchen is good, it closes at about 22:00, then you need to ask if you want something. There is a inner yard, but it's also the smoking area, even if no one smokes I smelled the ashtrays. Location is good near the park, close to the center and shops. The 10 bed dorm is divided to 3 rooms so it's a good choice. The room had windows and was pretty cool.
