Wombat´s City Hostel Leipzig

Stayed here over the last few days. I had stayed at the Vienna branch in the past and I liked it a lot. The Leipzig branch was also nice, but it felt somewhat smaller and not as developed. No amenities such as a pool table or bar, as in the Vienna branch. I stayed in a six-bed dorm, which was only occupied by two other people for the first two days. The dorm was facing a very busy street and I could hear all the traffic noises, which continued throughout most of the night until the morning. With the windows closed, some of the noise was muffled but it would become unbearably hot in the room. I slept with earplugs every night because of the noise, and woke up covered in sweat because of the heat. My room (206) also didn't have a bathroom inside - it was located in the hallway, which was somewhat inconvenient. Other than that, the rooms were clean and the other guests were friendly and respectful. And for the price, I suppose it's good value for money. But at the end of the day it's still a hostel, so you get what you pay for.

Good choice. Kitchen is good, it closes at about 22:00, then you need to ask if you want something. There is a inner yard, but it's also the smoking area, even if no one smokes I smelled the ashtrays. Location is good near the park, close to the center and shops. The 10 bed dorm is divided to 3 rooms so it's a good choice. The room had windows and was pretty cool.

The front desk staff was super kind and friendly!🙌🏻 The place had a big window that let in lots of fresh air and gave us a great view over the whole university town. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and the accessibility features were really well designed. There’s also a natural history museum nearby—the staff there were just as friendly. Highly recommend spending a few hours exploring it!💓

Our stay at this hostel was nice. The room was as advertised and we didn't expect any luxury. Everything was sufficient and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Good place to stay for a few nights.

Friendly and helpful staff. The room and bathroom were clean. The bathroom was outside the room but with a key so it is only used for those who are staying at the room. The hostel itself was quiet but the noise outside was very annoying since the windows were useless. The location is perfect, few minutes walking to the central station. Very good prices. Yet, the towels were not included in the bed price just like other places. Overall, I had a very good experience there.

We were in this hostel for one week. The price was good considering the location of the hostel. The room was clean and we were satisfied but I gave 4 stars for two reasons: 1- there was no mirror in the room and we had to use the one in the bathroom. 2- the location of the electricity was not good for charging the cell phone at least in our room. I don't know about the other rooms. The location of the hostel was great and there are many facilities around it.

I stayed in a 6-bed female dormitory with private bathroom. pros: nice staff good location breakfast option big rooms with seating area and lockers nice bathroom clean facilities elevator cons: not a single mirror in the bedroom. only in the bathroom across the hallway curtains were thin, so the sun was really bright in the morning wifi was slow at times not every bed has a power outlet accessible directly from the bed overall, I had a good experience and recommend this accommodation!

This is a nice calm hostel in a very good central location for a cheap price. When I visited, there weren't many people and generally a calm vibe. The dorm room and bathroom was spacious and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The luggage room is more secure as it is locked by staff. Breakfast is ok and the breakfast room has a nice vibe and good view. On the negative side, the biggest problem was that the curtains were not very good in the room, so the sun woke me up early. Also, not every bed in the dorm had an accessible power outlet and none had a reading light, but this is ok with the cheap price of the hostel. There was also a mistake made with my card so it didn't open the main door, but that was fixed easily. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would stay here again.
