Wonderstone at Glacier

Wonderstone was gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. it was in a relatively good area of columbia falls. quiet, (apart from when the snow plows where in the parking lot) we stayed upstairs and didnt find too much noise or disturbance from other guests. I cannot speak on the downstairs noise. close to kalispell and whitefish, both beautiful little mountain towns with surprisingly a lot going on for themselves. bed was big and comfortable. some small touch ups in the drywall/light fixture mounting would really tidy up the overall look of the room, overall very well done. As an electrician, weird, and I mean, very weird switch and light placements, really these are fictional things to nitpick. I would stay here again and would recommend to friends. On a last note, frank was very friendly, attentative and gave great recommendations for what to do in the area. Thank you Frank & Team, you did a wonderful job. See you next time!

This is a lovely, updated hotel. I believe it was once a Super 8, but it is worlds beyond that now. This was perfect for a couples getaway. The room had modern decor, a comfortable bed, a mini fridge, and a nicely bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh. The door lock was by code, so no key or card to keep up with. There was coffee/tea available in the lobby all the time. The staff was very friendly and had good suggestions for dining. We stayed off-peak toward the end of October, so the price (& value) was excellent. The location (at the east edge of Columbia Falls made for easy access to GNP for our 3-night stay… after a quick stop at Starbucks each morning right across the street. We would definitely stay at Wonderstone again!

Great location near Glacier! Small rooms with minimal accommodations. The Frank at the front desk was kind of rude when we showed up. Check in / out process was easy. The bed was really uncomfortable and there is no where in the room or motel to really hang out. Pillows were small and weird cube shaped. Not bad for the price!

I had a very comfortable stay here. I needed a room last minute and I was grateful to find this one. They accepted my reservation right away and made sure I had everything I needed. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only reason I’m giving it 4/5 stars is because the floors and ceilings are a bit thin and I could hear a lot of footsteps from the room above me. But earplugs were provided in the room, so the noise didn’t bother me and did not disrupt my sleep. I just mention this because I would not recommend the room for anyone who is a very light sleeper. My partner and I planned a visit to Glacier National Park and I came across this hotel online. I was intrigued by how minimalist and modern this hotel was, not to mention its close 20 minute distance to the national park entrance. We were in the newer building across the street from the main building and check-in was easy through our cell phone like an AirBnB. Our stay was for four nights and overall pleasant. We liked that our room was right across from the lobby with unlimited coffee/tea, a microwave and a fireplace lounge—it was like an extension of our room. We used this space in the evenings to eat our huckleberry pie. The rooms were spacious and overall comfortable, except the bed mattress being very firm. The biggest complaints about our stay match other reviewers. The doors are very heavy and slam easily, sending the sound down the hallway all night long. We could hear every step the guest upstairs made. Soundproofing was a bit issue but thankfully I brought earplugs. The bathroom was clean and spacious, however, the light is on a sensor so we had to rig up a piece of thick paper with tape over it so it would not turn on in the middle of the night. Lastly, there were no towel hooks in the bathroom which was inconvenient. Staff was friendly, parking was plentiful and the bear spray rental machine at the entrance was convenient. Overall a decent stay.

This was a really nice hotel-feel like motel. The beds, comforters and pillows were comfortable. They had coffee and tea anytime. The coffee was super good. The location was really close to Glacier National Park. The staff was super nice and helpful. The room was really clean and smelled nice. The air conditioner/fan was nice. The fridge was nice. And they had big Maps of Glacier National Park that you could take with you that was super helpful. We will definitely be back when we go to Glacier next time.

While my stay here was acceptable, I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. Like other reviewers, the amount of noise that travels really impacted my ability to sleep. I had one of the rooms that was facing away from the roads, so I didn’t hear much traffic noise; however, I could hear people talking in the lobby as if they were standing right outside my room, every door closing in the hallway sounded like a bang, and I felt like I could hear every step, suitcase roll, etc from the person staying in the room above us. It was enough to wake us up on all three of our nights, on both ends of the night. The motion sensor bathroom light was surprisingly annoying as well. It both jars you awake when you’re trying to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and constantly goes out while you’re showering so you have to wave your arm out of the shower to activate it again. Otherwise, I thought the room looked nice. Beds and pillows were comfortable. AC cooled down the room, albeit all the way cranked up. The location of the hotel is convenient for accessing both the west entrance to the park as well as nearby whitefish. The coffee and tea available in the lobby is a nice touch and all the staff that I interacted with were pleasant. If this hotel figures out how to dampen noise transfer, it would be a really nice stay. PS - must request your room being cleaned the day before otherwise no turnover

We were truly excited about our stay here, having seen so many positive reviews online that painted a picture of a modern and well-regarded hotel. However, our experience fell far short of what was promised, leaving us disappointed.||While the staff was friendly and the room was clean, we expected a better and safer experience. The very first issue we encountered was the complete lack of a lock from the inside of the door, which made us feel unsafe. This is a critical security flaw that no guest of a reputable hotel should have to deal with. To add to the discomfort, the walls and windows were so thin that we were constantly disturbed by loud street noise and conversations from the halls and adjoining rooms. A good night's sleep was truly impossible, even with the white noise machine they put in every room.||Beyond the safety and noise issues, the hotel lacked basic amenities and practicality. As we were traveling with luggage, the absence of an elevator was a major struggle, making it difficult to get our belongings to our room. We were also surprised to find no bedside tables, which meant we had no convenient place to put our phones or other items. Finding an outlet to charge our devices was a challenge, as there were none accessible near the bed. The lack of basic comforts was further highlighted by the absence of hand towels, Kleenex, etc., which we've come to expect in every hotel. (One tip, if you stay here, get some duct tape from the front desk to cover the motion activated light switch in the bathroom so it won't turn the lights off while you're in the shower!)||In summary, this hotel is a prime example of one that looks decent in pictures but fails to deliver on the most fundamental aspects of guest comfort and safety. The noise from the street and other rooms was a major disruption, and the serious security issues were unacceptable. Despite the good location, we would not recommend this motel to anyone and would not return.

I LOVE Wonderstone at Glacier!!! I stayed in their bunk room, and it was absolutely delightful. It's the BEST one I have ever experienced, Everything was perfect. Wonderstone is newly remodeled and beautiful. They have all the conveniences and generously offer treats. The hotel is also immaculately clean. One of the other wonderful things about Wonderstone is the employees. They are so kind, friendly, smart, efficient, helpful, and hardworking. Special thanks to Clayton, Claire, Karlayn, Jacob, and Roger. I highly recommend Wonderstone! If you stay, please be a good, kind, and respectful guest to positively support this lovely hotel!!!

Had a great stay! We were at the building on the south side of the street (both look beautiful and new). Our room was tastefully styled and clean. They provided health snacks that are great to grab and go for a hike. Very kind gesture! They also provided "rag towels" for cleaning shoes or gear which is thoughtful. Beautiful bathroom. Love that our room had a mini fridge. There was a microwave and coffee downstairs at the lobby. Very easy to check in and out remotely. The drive is about 25min to Apgar visitor center.

I'll start by saying the property LOOKS nice. The room was clean and well decorated. BUT, we knew we were in trouble when there was a noise maker and ear plugs by the bed. You can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in your hall. Every door closing, people talking, walking down the hall, and if you are on the first floor it sounds like elephants are above you. The suitcases rolling across the floor above sounds like a train. We would have changed hotels if anything else was available!

Amazing motel, I stayed in the bunkhouse for a reasonable price and had access to everything I needed to reset to continue my bike trip across the United States

Great motel. Incredible remodel at some point. A little noisy but they provided ear plugs and a sound machine. Fridge in room.

Pros: beds were comfortable, clean, newly-renovated rooms, and free snacks. Cons: ROAD NOISE IS LOUD! We read a few reviews and thought we would be fine. Any and all sound traveled through our outside door. We barely slept. Otherwise great staff and local Recommendations!

Very nice clean room, memory foam mattress. And a modern bathroom and shower. Check in lady was super friendly and inviting. Free parking and WiFi, great location and no breakfast. Only thing I didn't like was check out guy. Didn't acknowledge me when I went to check out, didn't say a thing. So I just left my keys in front of him hoping he'd check me out. But even still room was nice enough for me to keep it a 5 star.

Fantastic location near west entrance to Glacier National Park. Staff were super friendly. Can be a little noisy in the street facing rooms so if you can get one facing the rear it might be a bit quieter. Rooms and bathrooms appear to have been recently updated.

Highly recommend staying at Wonderstone. Super clean and friendly. Family owned and operated. I will back and will bring my entire family.

Our stay was a disaster. The room was spacious and clean those are the only two positive things I can say about it. Road noise was awful, we were told it would settle down after 10pm, it might have a little but by 4:40 am it was quite noisy again. The room had no drapes, just a thin white shade which did not help with the noise and was the brightest room when the sun came up. It was impossible to sleep after sunrise. There was no TV and the olympics were on so that was unpleasant. There were 3 spiders in the room, two crawling up the wall and one large one under a tote bag when I moved it in the morning. There was no closet just three hooks on the wall to hang clothes, no safe for valuables if we left the room. No desk or chair to sit and work. Not a box of tissues, no hand towel hook by the sink. Must have very thin walls, we could easily hear people upstairs and in the hallway. The Food Truck was not open at 5pm when we arrived, it was not open at 8:00am when we went for coffee and it was not open at 10:30 when we left the hotel. I really believe you need to change the name from Wonderstone to Blunderstone. I could not in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone even if it were only $100 per night instead of $344. Very disappointing!

I actually enjoyed my brief stay here and I experienced peace & quiet(mid-October). The bathroom was very nicely designed. The bed being set low was not my favorite but the mattress was great.

Great sleep and stay hotel. We really enjoyed our stay, the bed was super comfortable, the room was updated and clean, and it was only 20 minutes away from Glacier National Park entrance. I've read other reviews about noise issues but it's just an older building so it can be a bit noisy, but the hotel takes steps to mitigate the noise including providing ear plugs and white noise machines in every room. Will definitely stay here again

Wow! Beautiful rooms that give off a southern bohemian vibe that is aesthetically pleasing. We were extremely pleased with the cleanliness and the comfortability of our room. We barely noticed road noise and the convenience of it being right between downtown Whitefish and Glacier was very convenient. On top of all these things, Kristina was kind and very accommodating to our needs. For example, after our long hike at Glacier she allowed us to return even though we had already checked out so that we were able to shower before our trip home. If you are planning on making a trip to Glacier this summer, we would highly recommend Wonderstone at Glacier!

This is right on the highway so if your room is in front it is noisy. The window coverings do not block out the light. There are NO TV's in any room. I give it 2 stars for being clean, easy to check into, and in-room complimentary snacks.

Okay first off We are on a mission to find a good hotel to stay in near glacier park and Kalispell Montana and we have found it. I regret to say though that when i planned my trip i booked a different hotel every night and although it is missing the luxury of an indoor pool and jacuzzi it has been the best room thus far after staying at the country inn and suites, my place, and tru by Hilton if you want an affordable, comfortable, and spacious place to stay here it is! Could use a towel hook near the bathroom sink and a new wall ac/heater (which would probably be more energy friendly as well) they did a fantastic job with the remodel and i am glad to say i will be back for another stay!

I've stayed at this hotel a few times but only once since the remodel. They did a wonderful job with it and besides the outside being a dead give away that it's the same hotel you would never know! They chose to go with modern mixed with rustic vibes and they mesh very well! Being so close to Glacier National Park and only a few minutes from town makes this hotel a great choice! The staff is very pleasant and do everything they can to accommodate their guests! The beds are so comfy that I was able to sleep soundly! The rooms are spacious and very clean and we had a large walk in shower, which I loved! I'll be staying there again for sure!

What a wonderful hotel! The room decor was Minimalist chic, and it was very clean. They are currently installing tvs in every room after receiving feedback from previous customers. We can tell the owner takes the reviews seriously as I read previous posts with suggestions which I saw implemented in the room. Other folks mentioned traffic noise from out front since its on the highway, but this did not bother me much as it died down later in the night. Overall this is a great spot with one of the most affordable rates in the area. I would definitely stay here again.
