"Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail Amid the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong , it’s hard to believe that nature is always just a short taxi ride away. Opened in 2009 as a designated historic site, the Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail on Hong Kong Island is a picturesque network of idyllic pathways along the dams and pumping houses built by the British in the 19th century. On sunny weekends, you’ll bump into locals with their dogs in tow."

so fun its my first time rowing on a lake. the food is beyond a food stall level. must try to high tea on the lake. worth the money and time. only shortcoming is the rood up is too steep. go there by foot definitely heat you up before paddling.

The Wong Lai Chung Reservoir café / snack shop has reopened (except Monday) . With a wide variety of foods to choose from and high tea for 2 includes the paddle boat rental !! With no time limit on paddle boat rental , one can relax and enjoy. There are lifeguards on duty so it’s pretty safe. It’s amazingly good value !! Especially you’re surrounded by this pristine and tranquil environment ! The cheese baguette I ordered was crunchy and tasty so was definitely a surprise 😋 and I rounded it off by warm bean curd sweet soup 熱豆腐花🥰🌈. Definitely coming back here on my next day off !

An intensive 3.5hr walk with many STEPS! Nice view at the end, food in Stanley afterwards is rewarding.

The Reservoir Cafe staff/owner are very helpful. I left my mobile phone in the public toilet. Someone found and gave it to the cafe. They kept it until I came back to look for it. I enjoy the sweet been curd (tofu fa) very much. The warm sweet soup made with ginger was a highlight for outdoors in winter. Thank you!

It's a nice small lake, I imagine that the paddle boats must be quite nice. However, if you're only passing by, it's not much of a sight, it's a nice place to stop by if you're headed to the trails.

Yelp
The Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park is pretty much what the name describes: it is a public park centered on a reservoir in Wong Nai Chung Gap. It's quite easy to get to, as there is a bus stop just down the hill served by busses from both the Wan Chai side and Stanley side of the island. The reservoir itself is fairly small but perfect bot a paddle boat ride. Just remember your mosquito repellant! You can also walk out over the dam side of the reservoir, which has a great view down towards Aberdeen and is part of several trails in the area. The site also has some WWII relics nearby along the trails, if you're into seeing that sort of thing. There's a snack shop at the boat rental location if you're hungry but selection is limited so your own picnic might be nicer!
