My wife and I were in the mood for pizza, and luckily it was a Friday night. We decided to order from Wood Fired Pizza Wine Bar. I called the restaurant and ordered a Medium Bianca, a Small Pesto Pie, and a Root Beer. I received a notification that my order was ready after just 15 minutes, so I promptly went to pick up the pizza. Upon arrival, I noticed that the atmosphere of the restaurant was fantastic, complete with a bar serving a variety of drinks. The pizza we had was truly enjoyable. The crust was crispy and perfectly cooked, with delicious ingredients. It added a lot of flavor to our Friday night meal.

Did a pre-order at 4:15PM for the shift opening at 5PM. This food truck is really busy….. received my order at 6:28PM. I ordered a Meatza and a Hawaiian. The pizzas were hot out of the oven. The crust was good with some soggy parts. The pizzas were good, but the level of salt was high. The prices are reasonable. Next time, we will order the White or Cheese Pizza.

We had dinner last night and there were 5 people in our party. The artichoke & spinach dip with dipping bread was amazing. We also tried the meatball appetizer and it was delish. We had a pizza with prosciutto, cheese and Brussels sprouts that was so yummy. Light airy crust- not greasy. Our server Lira was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. What a great find in the Tamp area!

$20. + dollars for a pizza, burned on the bottom throughout and no mozzarella at on basically a margarita pizza. Ridiculous!! How do you forget the mozzarella on a three ingredient pizza.

Google
Good pizza! We had a party with 3 families and they brought pizza to two families and not the 3rd until the first two families were done eating. They asked for a discount but were only given 15% off. Not the best customer service, but the pizza was tasty!

Google
Incredible place! Lira, our server waited on us and provided impeccable service. Started with a sampling of wines from their huge beer and wine selection. The pizza is made in a wood burning oven and tastes like no other. Paired it with a tasty salad. Many dessert choices- tried Nonnas cannoli which was a fantastic choice. Highly recommend this neighborhood spot for a fine meal!!

Google
So I called this place because I’m like review are good and I’ve had them before right. So I order half chesse half pepperoni pizza , garlic wedge and wrap lettuce thing. Lettuce wrap thing absolutely amazing no complaints. However the pizza that I received and the garlic wedge were not as desirable as I would’ve like. My pepperoni were literally falling off my pizza not even toasted up or curled at the sides at all. I spoke with one the same men last night that places my order Mike and nothing but crickets. I also advised that my garlic wedge whatever maybe had another 3/4 piece of garlic on it that I 10 bucks for . Everyone I got last night made me wish that I had just cooked it at home myself and gotten ingredients my for 37+ dollars. I called at 915… I was told that I need to arrive by 930 to make it there before they close and I told them website says and he wants like well were slow so we’re leaving early. I’m highly upset at the lack of customer service . Regardless of time , I expect it to be prepared the same from the first customer to the last. Someone in management need to reach out to me.

We ordered take out. I had a white pizza with arugula (name I can’t remember, lol). Really quality ingredients and the crust was crispy and perfectly cooked. Others who ordered with me also loved their pies. Definitely recommend and I hope to visit in person soon, their beverages look amazing.

Yelp
First time visiting after hearing so many good things about the place. It almost looks nondescript in the corner of the plaza. Once inside, the place opens up into a large dining area. There's a huge bar near the entrance, and next that is a real wood fired oven. There is no hint of smokiness or heat. Service was almost immediate, but the truth is we were one of two tables in the place. The place is a little on the dark side. I don't know if that's supposed to create some ambiance? The menu has many good choices. We went with the Carnivore which is a large pie with sausage, pepperoni, and meatball. There was a lot piled on. One thing I kind of didn't care for was the slices were cut unevenly. So you had some smaller triangles and some really huge ones. The crust was awesome! A little char and the perfect amount of chewiness. The sauce just the right amount. There was a lot of cheese that reminded me of those cartoons where the cheese creates the long string that continues to grow. I had a nice sangria to go with my meal. At the end with a tip it came out to be around $50.00. A final note. Because of where it's situated it may be difficult to get out of the parking lot. It took me several minutes to be able to get onto the roadway.

Yelp
Incredible place! Lira, our server, welcomed us and provided impeccable service. The pizza is made in a wood burning oven and tastes like no other pizza we've ever had. We paired it with a tasty salad. The cannolis are mouth watering and delicious. Huge beer and wine list with samples provided upon request. Not to be missed!!! The pictures don't begin to do the food justice.

Yelp
Amazing place. I did some quick research and this place popped for me. Pizza was the best I have had in quite some time. Nice salads...I got the arugula. The crust on the two pizzas at our table was amazing. The staff were friendly during this quiet evening. They were perfect. Really liked the atmosphere and style. Classy.

Yelp
The pizza here is, of course, wood fired- and so are most of the dishes on the menu. I love that! There's nothing like the crisp yet chewy crust of a wood fired pizza, or the little charred bits on oven-roasted vegetables. My husband and I had our first date here 11 years ago and this weekend we came back to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I was surprised at how empty it was for a Saturday night, because this place has got it going on! Nonetheless, the dark and quiet scene added to the intimate vibe we were going for. We ordered the Tampa Verde pizza (which is most likely the same pizza we ordered on our first date), and the roasted vegetables with pancetta. Paired with a couple of glasses of Chianti, it was the perfect evening. The waitress, Karen, was absolutely lovely. She made us feel welcomed and comfortable while adding a feel like we were having dinner in someone's home. It's important to note that the pizza here is Italian-style, which is different from NY-Style pizza. The crust is softer and chewier, and the pizzas are smaller. When I first came here years ago, it was my first experience with Italian-Style pizza and I was taken aback by the crust since I was used to NY-Style pizza where you pick it up with your hands and take a crunchy bite. I learned that since Italian style pizza has a softer crust, it is best eaten with a fork and knife. Now that I know the difference in pizza styles and crust textures, I have come to appreciate the Italian style and really am a big fan of it! We just love this hidden gem. I could go on and on about the wonderful chew on the pizza crust here... it was superb!

Yelp
A local staple! Amazing pizzas and great wine selection. Highly recommend. This spot is for sure one not to miss!

Yelp
I am giving 1 star because the online prices do not match what they actually charge you in the restaurant. My total bill was $20 more than I expected based on their "online ordering" option. I do not like to used my credit card online due to fraud so I called in my order to pay when I picked up. I was told that they do not honor the online prices and that the owner is aware. The food is delicious and the service is good but their prices are outrageous!

Yelp
Ok so I was pleasantly surprised. When we walked in it was dark and dead, we thought it was either closed or we made a grave mistake. Actually it was about 3 pm so we were in between lunch and dinner crowd so that answers that. So we start looking through the menu and damn, all the pizzas sounded great so we all ordered our own pizzas. I ordered the most basic pepperoni pizza and it was fantabulous (yes that is not a real word but read it aloud with excitement and a slight pause in the middle and it will make more sense)! They make some of the cheese in house and the quality can be tasted. Add a wood fired pizza oven where you can watch your pizzas baking with the aroma just filling the restaurant. Mmmmmmm. Now the wine selection is pretty large and extensive for a pizza place which was a plus for the wife. She had a flight of Chardonnays and her friend had a flight of reds. That made their day. The negative (ok minus 0.01 stars), they did not have fresh brewed iced tea. I am not a true southerner but fountain iced tea is a northern thing. If you are not going to have fresh brewed Then save the effort and just tell your customers "we don't have iced tea".

Yelp
We first came here about six years ago when my daughter started college at USF. Ee were thrilled with the quality of the pizza. You can tell they buy better quality ingredients. As a bonus they have an excellent beer list. It's almost always virtually empty on weekdays. We've been back about a dozen times and it's always consistent. The service is nice too. Stop by and give them some business. I'm a little concerned they don't get enough traffic to stay open, but it's one of our favorite pizza places. We live about 40 minutes away and make the trip. We usually get the Big Sexy pizza which is fantastic! We tried the pesto this time. Our daughter always gets the Raquel which is a basic cheese pizza.

Yelp
This was the best pizza we have had in a long time. Benisel was very polite and did a great job explaining the menu and treating us wonderfully. Will for sure come back here!

Yelp
At first I rated a two star: cold pizza, no sauce......then after two days: the family loved the left overs. 4 stars, My Brother I don't know how you can make Tampa water make such a New York crust. I have been resetted: 4 stars

Yelp
No more gluten free options. Terrible service waitress didn't understand what I was talking about.

Yelp
Orientation at the local college, looking for something besides the regular chains we stumbled upon Wood Fired Pizza Wine Bar. WOW is about how I would phrase it. Great atmosphere. Friendly service and fantastic pizzas. We tried several varieties and loved each one. Nice wine selection and very interesting pizzas with great flavors. Well done!

Yelp
This is my favorite pizza place in new tampa and possibly in all of Tampa. I've been coming here since it opened. Waited an hour for my takeout 19$ 12 inch pizza which is obviously an expensive pizza but it is almost always worth it. I open the box and see this barely 10" pizza that was undercooked. What a disappointment.

Carole B.

Yelp
We loved our pizza, spinach/arugula salad and Chianti! Great service and ambiance. We are just visiting, but would love to go back
google avatar

Yelp
The pizza is always amazing very cheesy and crunchy. Our regular server is also very sweet and recognizes us and regulars. The ambiance is cozy good for a nice date night. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Yelp
We arrived at 4pm today to only be told after the third bottle of wine we asked if they carried - they don't carry (cause from the bartender "we carry 100 wines but don't have them all) So, finally I ask what do you carry and she brought over a bottle we agreed on. Then, apparently there is no wine opener IN THE ENTIRE WINE BAR! Now it's 30 minutes later, still no wine, still no one can find a wine opener and no manager on duty? I asked for manager and she said they will be there in 25 minutes? then I approached the kitchen manager and he agreed - how is there no wine opener for a wine bar? We paid for the pint of beer my husband ordered $17? for a pint of beer? We cancelled our dinner order... I don't know if there has been an exchange of ownership but we drove 25 minutes for disappointment. I do not recommend this place for wine - or at least, bring your own wine opener.

Yelp
This is a place where we thought we like to come for a drink and pizza to. They way we were treated tonight, turned us away for ever. We came in, we greeted, and after asking if we can seat at the bar we were welcomed to seat there. But right after we set set down we were told that the seats were reserved for someone else and we were asked to move to a table. We enjoy sitting at the bar only so we left and went next door for a drink. Just to come out half an hour later to look inside to see those 2 seats we were asked to free up we're still empty........ leaving with a sour taste and not coming back...... went to support small and local but guess they didn't want us..

Yelp
A local favorite. I came in on a Sunday and had a nice pie and a glass of wine. Good service and very good pizza. Also they have a nice wine list.

Yelp
This place has the best pizza in the area. For appetizers my favorite is the garlic wedges and meatballs. The carnivore pizza delicious with homemade marinara sauce. We also tried the pistachio and it was good my I personally preferred red sauce on my pizzas. I only gave this 4 stars because their menu offers coffee and cappuccino, but the server advised the machine has been broken for a while and they do not know when or if it will be fixed. * Owners - Please Please Please fix or replace the machine as we love to have a nice cup of coffee after your amazing pizza!

Kirstie M.

Yelp
Great pizza! Made fresh. Reasonably priced food also. The service was very slow though with only one waitress working, be prepared to wait. But it's worth the wait!

Laurel S.

Yelp
Service is a bit slow considering both times i've been in, we've been the only customers. However, it's delicious and handmade and worth the wait. The servers are all friendly and it's a relaxing vibe.

Michael K.

Yelp
Food was amazing. We had the sette formaggi and added tomato sauce and meatballs. Pizza was made to perfection and taste is out of this world. Our service was great as well. Restaurant from the outside looks rather normal but inside the setting is very nice and welcoming.

Yelp
Great pizza, and dessert pizza too! So many options, good service. Got the pizza Lydia, very flavorful, snd would get again!

Yelp
Drove 20/25 minutes prior to calling, arrived and stated kitchen closed at 9:30PM but the hours listed are 10PM, understandable but still should be stated.. One of few wood fired pizza places sadly will not return solely on poor customer service

Yelp
This was our first visit to Wood Fired Pizza, indeed a great experience. Yummy Pizzas and great choices of wine. Very good service.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a thin crust, wood fired pizzas and it is amazing! Before Covid we would eat at the restaurant and also get their meatball which are also excellent. Tonight we decided to pick up a pizza on our way home. It only took about seven minutes for them to make it for us. We love the Sophia pizza which has garlic and four cheeses on it. This is a small pizza joint with a few tables. If you want to wow your family.. bring home a pie from here. They also sell wine. I must say a nice Sangiovese would greatly compliment this pizza. Yelp
New to the immediate area and wanted a quick lunch option that wasn't fast food. I loved that I could order right here through Yelp for delivery! I did not see any way to customize any of the menu options via the Yelp delivery platform so I opted for a small pepperoni pizza. Service was very fast for delivery and arrived with a tamper proof sticker that kept the lid closed. Sizing was perfect for one person to have for lunch. The only downside is that the bottom of the pizza/crust was not crispy at all. The pizza was so floppy that the cheese and toppings literally fell off when I picked up each slice. Flavor was definitely on point though! Next time I'll need to pop it in the oven at home to hopefully get more of a sturdier bottom. They had a ton of very unique and delicious sounding pizzas that I definitely want to try. Maybe next time I'll try in person.

Yelp
Pizza we had was very good. The sever was friendly and fast. We didn't have to wait for a table and pizza came out fast.

Yelp
Order pizza online went to pick it up, they had no clue I ordered it ..that sld have been a sign and i sld have said nvm.. get pizza it wasn't anything to complain about but nothing to brag about either 3 stars over all. Over priced cld have got 7.99 pizza at little ceasars or 7eleven... this was tripple the price .. think crust bacon is bacon sauce is sauce the chicken on it was of Good quality but I don't recommend perhaps its better dining it ... idk
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious pizza! The perfect "little" hall in the wall kinda place. Lots of options and a gigantic wine selection. I tried the sette formaggi pizza and paired it with a glass of Quilt. The most amazing way of ending a week!
google avatar

Yelp
Best Pizza I have had in quite some time . The staff is very courteous and professional.

Aidan C.

Yelp
My favorite pizza place in the area. I've been twice. Both times I ordered the Dante's Inferno, and I couldn't recommend it more. Adding sriracha to the sauce is something I'd never think to do, but it works so well. The pizzas here are cooked perfectly, and they don't skimp on sauce or toppings. The only downside is that their smallest pizza is 12 inches, and usually costs $17.95. This is pretty expensive if you're by yourself. If they had a personal sized pizza, I'd probably be here more often. I recommend bringing a friend and splitting the cost. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance. It's fairly quiet, well decorated, and the dim (but not too dark) lighting makes for a comfortable experience. Everything is clean, and the staff here appear to be taking COVID precautions seriously. Our service has been great both visits. The servers here are friendly and patient. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Wood Fired Pizza Wine Bar. With a great atmosphere, and a diverse selection of pizzas to choose from, you can't go wrong.
google avatar

Yelp
Best pizza I've had in long while. The Carnivore is great tasting, perfectly cooked with good quality ingredients. I highly recommend this if you love lots of meats on your pizza. Also got the wood fired wings which are full of flavor, has a bit of char on them, less greasy than regular fried wings at other places. I highly recommend this place. It's very easy to order on the phone and arrange for pickup time. Also all employees I saw in the dining room were wearing masks to help protect you just like they are supposed to.
google avatar

Jasmine K.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients and a great pizza every time. A little pricey, but the flavor makes up for it.

Yelp
Tonight I made the mistake of ordering from this restaurant on Grubhub. I ordered a Nutella calzone and a cappuccino. The calzone was expensive $11.. cappuccino $4. I waited an extra 30 minutes for my order.... when it arrived the driver informed me the restaurant could not fulfill my cappuccino order and I would be refunded for it. That was super disappointing because that was mainly why I ordered. I opened the box of the calzone and it was coated with nasty syrups I did not ask for .. nor it showed in the picture.... then noticed it was completely burnt front and back ( see pics) it was so rough and disgusting. NEVER again. They should be ashamed to even thought that was ok to sell that way.

Yelp
Food is good, place is dirty Clean the windows. Yeah, this place needs a good cleaning.

Yelp
My fiancée and I had the most amazing experience at this restaurant because of the kindness of both Jane and Peter. Beyond their hospitality-- the food was breathtaking. This is truly a gem of Tampa. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 Recommended dishes (so far): Pizza Sophia

Yelp
Why 3 stars? Because the pizza was decent, but I might need to try an alternate order next time. --- --- --- With a 4.5 star average, Wood Fired was a place I've had my eye on for a while, and I finally made it here recently. My first impression was that I was really impressed with the beer list, as they had plenty of Florida beers on tap, and a lot more available in bottles. I scored a Funky Buddha Sweet Potato Casserole and it was perfection. We saw photos of the wood fired meatballs and knew we had to try them out - it turned out they were as amazing as they looked. They come in a skillet, smothered in cheese - aka the best way that anything has ever been served. This was definitely our favorite part of the meal! As for the pizzas, we ordered the pistachio pie and the pizza raquel. I decided to go with the pistacho because it seemed to be one of the most popular items available. I ended up not loving it so much, but I think it was mainly because of the rosemary, which adds a flavor that I'm not too fond of. My wife's pick was the Raquel. It was like a pretty typical margherita, but with more cheese. One disappointing thing was that the crust was not very great - usually I love eating the crust, but this crust was not very appetizing. Despite my mixed experience, I definitely want to return and try the sette formaggi or the carnivore. I think my issue is that I ordered something that was more popular, rather than going with what I personally would love the most. Next time, I will make that happen!

Yelp
This was our first visit here and we really enjoyed it. The waitress, Carrie, was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the red pepper hummus and Michelangelo pizza. Both were awesome! We will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this place it was really good great selection of beer and wine, good service and great pizza ! Need I say more!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great pizza. Best in Tampa! Well worth the drive! I recommend pizza Raquel. Wood fired pizza!

J P.

Yelp
Ordered for take out. Pizza was good, but the price on their website and yelp are not what they charge if you call. Also, if call to order to go, they charge you and extra 15%. No where do they tell you this. Charging gratuity for take out especially without telling people just for taking the order over the phone is ridiculous.Got charged essentially an extra $5 dollars. $25 for a small carnivore pizza. Absurd

Sasha D.

Yelp
Service is great. Pizza is pretty good! Wish they had a happy hour. Wine is a lil over priced
google avatar

Yelp
I have been here now 5 times and each time the quality of the food and service has been very good. Pete the owner is very passionate about his food and quality is very apparent. We have had 3 different pizzas, salad and the meatballs on our various dinner and lunch. All were done with perfection. Pete, keep up the good work!!!

Yelp
We tried to order pizza via phone order. We were told we could choose cash or card. And then yelled at when we chose cash. Very rude and disrespectful and insisted we pay w card- cancelled our order and would never give them our business. Horrible customer service

Yelp
Wow! I was surprised!! Excellent pizza! Very similar to Anthony's Coal Fired. Pizza was light, thin, very flavorful with crispy edges. Cooked perfectly. Service was great. Casual but professional, which suits me just right. Restaurant was suitable, with a good amount of dining space. It provided a cozy experience, while allowing enough space to kept it intimate. The garlic wedges appetizer was yummy. Not quite what I expected, but a unique treat. Would have been nice with a dipping sauce of some sort, but was so flavorful it was unnecessary. Fresh pieces of garlic cloves made the dish really pop. Tried to order a regular cheese and the waitress upsold us to a"Sophia" pizza for $21, which was basically a cheese pizza with 4 different cheeses. Also got a regular pepperoni. Both pizzas were delicious. Overall, the family and I were more than pleased. Wood Fired Pizza gave us everything we were looking for. Delicious pizza, comfortable dining experience, and great service. We will definitely return when in the area again and I do recommend! :)
