A Nature Lover's Guide to Oregon

"Visitors often flock to Oregon’s Willamette Valley to sip pinot noir in wine country or tour the sights of the Rose City. But come early spring each year, it’s the beautiful blooming tulips that steal the show. One of the best places to enjoy the spectacle is the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn, about 45 minutes outside Portland. It is one of the largest tulip farms in the U.S. Northwest, with 40 acres of flowers that erupt in a rainbow of color each year. Strolling through the neatly cultivated fields, you’re welcomed by row after row of bright pink, red, white, yellow, purple, orange, and multicolored petals. The farm has around 80 varieties of tulips that are organized into sections of color, a scene made even more picture-perfect by the idyllic backdrop of Mount Hood in the distance. The family farm hosts an annual spring festival to show off its colorful crop each year, opening up the flowering fields to the public for about a month between late March and early May. Visitors are invited to wander through the tulip fields, camera in tow, or to tour the landscape by tractor or even hot air balloon. The working farm also sells tulip bulbs, cut flowers, and potted plants to take home." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

I purchased the seasonal pass and have visited several times since! The place is stunning with beautiful flowers and an amazing atmosphere. Weekends are lively, filled with friendly faces and laughter. In contrast, weekdays are calm and relaxing, offering more freedom for photoshoots or simply enjoying the scenery. It’s definitely worth it!

Visiting the Tulip Garden with my family was a truly beautiful experience. The vibrant colors and endless rows of tulips created a breathtaking view, making it feel like we had stepped into a painting. The garden was well-maintained, with walking paths that allowed us to explore at a relaxed pace. It was a perfect place for taking family photos and simply enjoying nature’s beauty together. The atmosphere was peaceful, and we loved seeing so many varieties of tulips in full bloom. A memorable day filled with joy, laughter, and lots of pictures – I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to spend quality time with loved ones!

Visiting Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm was an unforgettable experience! The vibrant fields of tulips stretching across the landscape were absolutely breathtaking and perfect for photography. The farm is well-maintained, and there’s a peaceful charm that makes you want to linger and take it all in. There were plenty of family-friendly activities, food vendors, and even wine tasting for the adults. Parking was well-organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I recommend going early in the season or on a weekday to avoid the larger crowds. If you're looking for a beautiful spring outing or a great spot for photos, Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm is definitely worth the trip.

I could stay here forever if I could from when the sunrises to when the sunsets. The tulips are all almost fully bloomed but enough to be able to capture beautiful pictures and memories. I recommend wearing shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy! I definitely plan to return to capture the hot air balloons!

Google
What a fantastic tulip 🌷 farm! We picked the perfect day to go, sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky. I’d recommend going as early as you can, the place definitely fills up even on a Tuesday. Saw some stunning tulips, I’m ready to start planting.

Google
Incredibly beautiful place with so many photo spots! There are tons of locations perfect for pictures, and you can even buy the same tulips and cute souvenirs on site. Highly recommend for anyone who loves aesthetic Instagram photos!

Google
My recent visit to Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm on July 27th was unfortunately a letdown. Having just missed the tulip season, I opted to see their "Summer Flowers," but the $16 per person admission fee felt entirely unjustified. The hot weather had clearly taken its toll, leaving the flowers looking parched and far from their best, which really detracted from the experience. The pricing for picking your own flowers was equally steep; a small vase cost an additional $20, and a larger bucket was $30. Given the condition of the flowers, these prices felt exorbitant. Overall, I cannot recommend visiting the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm outside of tulip season. The summer flower display simply doesn't warrant the high cost of admission or the additional fees for picking.

Yelp
What a fun stop! The drive up all we saw were Vibrant fields of every color imaginable! In the front of the gift shop are tables with bunches and pots of tulips for sale. If you want a snack, there are multiple food stands and seating areas available. The gift shop was full of tulip themed gifts and treats. Despite the wind and rain we had a great time admiring the vibrant burst of colors against the grey sky. Love Oregon! Tips-We went on a very windy and rainy day , so be sure to bring shoes that can hold up to the mud. Be sure to buy tickets in advance and be on time. This place gets busy!

Yelp
My rating is on the pricing structure alone. $84* for a family of 4 just to step foot on the property is extreme. (*And yes this is weekend pricing because honestly, when would a family get to the farm during the week?) It has been YEARS since we visited as a family and thought it would be a nice outing for their final weekend. No thank you. Charging entry rates that exceed the minimum wage (Marion County is $14.70/hour) excessive and tone-deaf. I'm over the ambiguity of youth/senior pricing. Is a teenager an adult? Is a senior 50? 60? 70? Teenagers (13-19) charged ADULT rates despite their limited earning capacity lacks conscious. What about a student discount? Their "senior" discount doesn't apply until 65 despite AARP recognizing seniors as 50+. It is beyond disappointing to know a local businesses does not recognize local pricing.

Yelp
We ordered our tickets easy online. It was early morning and not crowded. We were greeted by parking helpers and tickets were scanned. We parked in the designated area. This location has several port-a potties. We brought our dog. It was muddy and of course it was enjoyed. A variety of tulips and amazing landscape of the fields. Even seen Mt. Hood. Two fields were open for viewing. Left side of the store is a little Tractor with seating to take you to the back fields if you can't walk much. More porta a potties in that location. The back location has a kind wood workers showing off his work and explained his process. Great knowledge. This area also a snack bar and some seating area. The main store has many souvenirs, beautiful tulips for sale, and wine. Seating is located in main store area and has snacks. Shops were opening up around 10am and also a designated kids play area. Many wooden shoes and benches locationed around the grounds for photo ops. We enjoyed this amazing tulip trip and will plan on coming back next year. Tip: No poop bags so bring your own. Not wheelchair friendly unless does well with mud. Early is the best time to avoid a lot of traffic.

Yelp
John Iverson. That's the reason for my review used to be a decent soccer player too. That's all the characters I've got I hope I've got 85 by now, so it will be posted

Yelp
I only have good things to say about visiting Wooden Shoe. The flowers only bloom a specific time throughout the year so make sure to plan accordingly. I would recommend coming when they are at least 85% bloomed. You can check the bloom status on their website. You also have to buy tickets in advance online to come here. They don't sell tickets in person. They are about 21$ per person (not including the 7$ service fee). You can buy a variety of tulips at the farm as well. I got the 10$ 10 stem bouquets which were such a good deal considering they are more expensive at the grocery store. This festival is not just flowers though. They also have food stands, rides, a gift shop, market vendors, and more. Also it is accessible for older people who can't walk very far as there are golf carts going around shuttling people throughout the fields. This was a 10/10 experience, worth the money.

Yelp
Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm is an absolute delight! Not too far outside of Portland this family-run farm has beautiful tulips stretching for acres with a view of Mt. Hood in distance. The photo opportunities are abundant and nearly every direction is a great view. Adjacent to the fields is a fairly large shop with a number of local trinkets and snacks. In addition to an outside market style area. It's a great afternoon for enjoying the outdoors with or without the family.

Yelp
An annual event for 24 years, I love my visits as much today, as my first experience! Being immersed in so much natural beauty, in such vibrant technicolors, makes my heart sing! Nature is my church and a visit to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm is good for the soul! Since covid, tickets must be purchased online in advance. There are no tickets sold at the farm. This helps manage the crowds which benefits everyone. You can tiptoe through the tulips without thousands of people. And you can take pictures of the gorgeous flowers without hundreds of people in your shots. This farm is beautiful in all weather. On a gray or rainy day, the tulips are iridescent, glowing bright against the gray sky. On a sunny day, the contrast of the vibrant tulips - bright red, yellow, soft pink, lavender, blackcherry, fuschia, white, yellow, purple, orange, striped, frilly - against the magnificent blue sky, is pure joy! I love strolling through the gorgeous fields of tulips, planted by color in rows, creating a rainbow field in every direction. They rotate the fields to ensure the soil has nourishment, and when they plant in front of Mt. Hood, it creates the perfect backdrop for the flowers. This was the case this year, 2024, and I couldn't stop snapping pics. The fields are huge, and when the land is dry, it's easy to walk from field to field and navigate within the rows of tulips. The ground is uneven, so be aware. If you get tired or need assistance, they have a free wagon ride to the outer fields. There are benches scattered about the garden, perfect for a rest and take in the views, even better for a photo op. Talk about photo ops, they have created them everywhere! There are bright wooden letters that spell, " I love tulips" and huge wooden shoes, a windmill, tractors and flower cut-outs for you to insert your face. Of course the rows and rows of tulips are the best photo op, and you will see many people dressed for the occasion and posing endlessly. This is a selfie world, after all. This event is for everyone. I've been there with a cane or walker after a hip replacement and I was able to get around, taking the free wagon ride to the distant fields. Its a perfect day for families, there is even a carnival type of playground for the children. Lots of vendor stalls selling food, crafts and wares - more on weekends than during the week. There is a large gift shop selling tulip bulbs of course, plus whimsical yard art, wind chimes, sweatshirts, and other items. They offer wine tastings and serve beer and cider. Lots of food choices - hamburgers, coconut shrimp, Dutch sausage, elephant ears, ice cream, kettle corn, apple cider donuts, and more. There are tables under a tent and on the side of the gift shop providing plenty of shade. Also tables out in the sun if that's your preference. Make sure to visit the garden area to the right of the gift shop. The rhododendron are in bloom mid April and all the shades of pink and white are lovely. We usually bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it in the garden, away from the crowds. This is an annual event for me and I look forward to soaking up all of this beauty every spring.

Yelp
Dreary, cold and rainy day - improved upon by gazing at field, after field of vibrant color! The tulips here are simply enchanting. Play area and other activities for little ones. Dog friendly. Tethered hot air balloon ride was not available today, due to weather. There is an extended gift area where you can purchase all types of cute kitsch, and tulips in pots or fresh cut stems. Variety of (pricy) food options, onsite too.

Yelp
It's a family tradition. Seems to keep getting better and better. Coming back strong from Covid. The fields were much bigger this year. The reservation system has changed to individual rather than car full tickets. The parking is a little bit all over the place but it's nothing major. You are always close to the field and the festival. Plenty of tulips for sale all the varieties. Limited other flowers for sale but they are there. All kinds of food vendors and goods for sale. Some pretty good children activities and rides available. Loved the kite display this year. Always a good time for us we come back every year. The price has gone up you still see your monies worth. It's not a full day but more like a 2 hour activity. Depends on how many photos you take and selfies you want

Yelp
**Update: I wrote to customer service and got an excellent response back. I greatly appreciated how they addressed my concerns and made plans to make changes for next year. They also removed their photos on social media showing folks breaking rules. Looking forward to a better year next year. Family friendly | Great Annual Event | Rule breaking caters to IG marketing We visit this tulip farm festival every year for the past six years. We enjoy it every time. It is family friendly with carnival food and some rides for kids to buy tickets for. To visit the tulip festival people need to buy tickets online in advance. When weather is sunny, it is highly likely the festival will sell out. Children are free. Tickets cannot be refunded, but you can contact them if you need to change the date and time slot. Folks have a 30 minute window to arrive in their given time slot. Here is my major complaint: rules. They're big on this yet are inconsistent in enforcing it. Their website and social media give examples of what is allowed/not allowed behavior in the fields. -People are not allowed to roam the fields but only 1-2ft into the row from the ends. -Stay on the wide grass ways. -Dont stand on dirt mounds at the ends because underground bulbs need a chance to sprout -Don't damage or pick the tulips, obviously. With that said, their social media includes some posts of visitors obviously breaking the rules to get the perfect shot, and Wooden Shoe is quick to use these for good marketing/advertising. So, it really pissed me off as an annual visitor who abides by their rules, someone who wants a decent family photo of my kid, witness these Instagram fanatics break rules for "likes" and then get rewarded for by the very people who set the rules. Ultimately, what attracts visitors from all over is seeing these IG filtered photos, but people have to break the rules to get these shots. Wooden Shoe either needs to stop sharing and supporting that behavior or change their rules. See photo for what I'm describing with rule breaking and Wooden Shoe condoning it. Overall, it's something my daughter looks forward to every year. We come to take a few pics and leave after an hour. Next year, I plan to show these photos posted on their social media to their Tulip Police and have them explain to me what is I'm doing wrong with my family.

Yelp
Wooden Shoe was a pleasant mini-trek outside of Portland, but ultimately not as impressive as I would have hoped. The assortment of tulips is lovely, but the grounds overall has a bit of a carnival vibe that didn't really land with me, personally. For $15 per adult, it's not a bad deal. And it's nice to have an outdoor activity option when the weather is nice. But don't expect to spend more than an hour or so here.

Yelp
Every spring around this time my family and I drive from Portland to this farm to hang out and admire the flowers. We take cute family photos, eat lunch and enjoy a cold beverage. We've come twice in a row, annually. Theres some info/tips I can share: Cost for adults is $15 ($10 for senior) but little ones are free (under 12). You can buy tickets online at the website or you can pay when you arrive, but be aware tickets can sell out on weekends. Bring a little blanket if you want to set your baby or child near the tulips for pics. There is a small amount of carnival-like rides for kids, like spinning apples. Theres also a mega slide & a bounce-house. There's 8-10 food stalls available with options ranging from Reuben sandwiches to shaved ice and also hand-dipped corn dogs and Asian noodles. We tried the Mexican place and it was kinda meh. The carne asada was rubbery. The corn on a stick was overcooked and mushy. Next time I will likely go for a grilled cheeseburger or maybe an elephant ear. There are vendors selling cold beer, hard seltzers, hard cider, and wines. Bring a fan for yourself or your baby stroller in the mid to later part of April it gets super hot. Wear comfortable shoes, ones that won't chafe your feet. Also ones you don't mind getting some dirt or mud on them. All in all a good time for the family, but come prepared for the weather, and also know you'll have to do quite a lot of walking on uneven terrain. The tulip festival closes April 28th.

Yelp
We visited the tulip farm in 2024 and were amazed at the vastness of tulip fields stretching far and wide . It was a sunny clear day and Mt Hood was visible in the background so great photo opportunity . Of course there are so many photo ops you can't decide where to pose ! Anyhow the following year 2025 we didn't go during the tulip bloom but found out about Dig Day . I was lucky enough to secure a much coveted ticket and prepared accordingly with the advice of office staff at the farm . Very helpful and nice. Upon arrival the staff was there to check people in , the pots for digging were not far so easy walking distance. Most of the pots had bulbs which were easily removed , I think I used my mini spade a few times to break open the contents of larger pots, the small ones very easy . The staff comes around and collect the empty pots, they reuse them So make sure to bring enough containers or bags for your bulbs . The lady in the tulip farm videos was there showing people various things about harvesting the bulbs , care and storage and giving a bit of info on varieties which was great . Overall the dig was a fun day despite the rain , which didn't stop anyone from digging their hearts out . I wore knee pads but did not kneel down at any point, mostly bent and stooped down . The pots are up on pallets . The current year catalog was distributed before the commencement of the dig so you can reference the bulbs . There were some names not in 2025 , may have been in prior year 2024 catalog , need to get access to that info . The diggers as a group were friendly and it was a pleasant experience to be out there amongst them . So if you don't mind getting down and dirty and love to garden , this is the place!

Yelp
Fun spring activity - we really enjoyed the colorful tulips, food stands, and perfect picture opportunities. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance on the website.

Yelp
Lovely farm with amazing views of Mt Hood. The partnership with the hot air balloon companies is the cherry on top! It's so magical to watch a balloon hover over a field of tulips:) Prices go up every year, whether you just want a photographer pass or visit the farm. So don't hesitate to go. It'll be more next year. Photographers can be intense in the morning. Don't pay attention to the hecklers. Overall, Im Happy they let the photographers in for the sunrise sessions:) just cost so much!

Yelp
First time at the tulip festival and it's their 40th Anniversary this year. There's something for everyone here. Every inch of this place is Insta-worthy! Bring your dog Bring your kids Bring a picnic Bring a hat + sunglasses Bring your appetite And most importantly bring your camera . I had no idea there was so much here, and year round activities and events (except November-February). They have a gift shop with unique seasonal and Dutch inspired gifts. There's the Wooden Shoe Garden where they do weddings (May-September), wine tasting, red barn hemp. Definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
What a fun outing! This was our first tulip festival and we had a blast! The tulips were beautiful and we loved the artisans and food vendors. Everyone was friendly! The tulip farm has an all year store do we will be back to visit!

Yelp
I went during the tulip festival in April 2022 and it was absolutely beautiful! The tulips were perfectly blooming and the weather was gorgeous. Tickets weren't too expensive and parking was fairly easy. I do recommend bringing some water and towels and leaving them in the car to wash your shoes off with so your car doesn't get all muddy, because even without it raining that day my shoes were covered in mud. There are so many rows of tulips of different colors and there are a lot of places to take pictures even when it's busy. You can't pick your own and you aren't supposed to walk down the rows (but some people do anyway ) but that doesn't have any negative impact on the experience at all. I can't speak to the market or anything other than the tulip farm itself, as I only went for the tulips. I definitely want to go again and bring more friends. This is something everyone should experience at least once!

Yelp
Excellent place for the tulip blossom.Wide variety of flowers flowering tulips. Excellent wine collection too.

Yelp
**April 2024: Easter Sunday Visit** I was researching things to do during Easter weekend and came across the Tulip festival at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. The photos looked beautiful. so I went ahead and bought my admission tickets online (for the festival all tickets must be purchased in advance online) for $20 (Adult) - parking included. I made a 8am reservation and my friend and we go there first thing in the morning. My first impression - so many beautiful and full flowers! The pictures don't quite do it justice. Most of the vendors set up around 10am, but my friend and I walked along the different rows to enjoy the variety. There were also many photo opts including a "I love Tulips" and "I love Oregon" sign. When the vendors completed their setup I really enjoyed looking through all the local Oregon made items. They have a very country home made feel to it. They also had a hot air balloon vendor that's tethered which my friend and I waited for; however, the winds picked up and unfortunately, we were not able to fly - next time though! In total we spent around 3-4 hours mostly taking photos. From my Portland trip, this was the highlight! If you have a car I definitely recommend coming to check this out!

Yelp
This gem left us speechless when we arrived! The acres and acres of colorful tulips were breathtaking! You are encouraged to walk through the fields. They offer many photo ops with benches you may sit on at the end of some tulip rows, a windmill to stand in front of, large wooden shoes to have your kids sit in, and some peek your face thru a scene boards. There was a nice variety of artists/crafts people and their large gift shop. Food trucks offered a variety of snacks and meals. They also serve beer and wine for those so inclined. They had a few "amusement " type rides for the kids too. The hazelnut shell paths help you walk in designated areas to help keep your feet from getting muddy. A perfect place to appreciate the beauty of these gorgeous flowers. The staff was very friendly and answered questions we had.

Yelp
$15.00 per person prior purchase-no purchasing entry at the gate. The cost includes parking. Many food carts available to choose-drinks, wine, lunch and or sweets. Covered seating. Acres of beautiful flowers, plenty of staff available to assist you. A ton to do for children. Watch the weather they never close due to weather-boots and a raincoat might be necessary. Dogs on leash allowed.

Yelp
Pretty place but we didn't get to ride the balloons like we wanted to I wish the two companies would work in tandem better they are separate entities and dont really know one from another
google avatar

Connor E.

Yelp
This was my first time coming here. It's a great place for the family and even for a date. I would recommend coming early or evening time since it's less crowded. They have food vendors bounce houses for the kids and a place to buy flowers. All in all great place and would recommend if you haven't gone yet

Yelp
Had such a great time! It was a nice day and was not too busy. Parking was not bad. Great view of mt. hood! Nice area for the kids to play. Also had food and drinks and adult beverages!!

Yelp
I have been wanting to come for a few years but the blooming season always sneaks up on me, but finally I made it out this year. Took my mom here on her birthday and had a great time. Definitely get your tickets early because they do sell out quick we got ours a week ahead and the latest entry available was 8:30 am, which was not necessarily a bad thing because it was already fairly busy as we went on a sunny Saturday. There is a lot more to do there than just see fields and fields of tulips. Several gift shops, a coffee shop, a bunch of food stands and small carnival rides to name a few. We also stopped and chatted with the wooden shoe carvers, who were very nice and was fun seeing a block of wood turn into a shoe. Will definitely be coming back next year!

Yelp
The Woodburn wooden shoot tulip farm is a must see every spring and this was my first time going there and I kind of felt like I was in the Dutch countryside or something or Holland or Finland, but I wish there were more windmills and a big one... When I was in Germany, I went to a windmill farm and there were flowers everywhere and huge windmills, old and different looking, but this was a nice nostalgicreminder of that time in my life. Great people and they even have a little wine tour and carnival rides for the kids of some sort and there's food and a gift shop. So you can get little wooden shoe magnets, some tulips to take home and anything else you need but this is a great place for photos and just to walk around in silence because it's so common and relaxing there. There's hardly any noise.
google avatar

Mylinh V.

Yelp
This has been on my bucket list forever and I am so happy that I got to see the tulips! I came a week after the festival ended so there were rows that had been picked already but there was still a decent amount of tulips left for viewing. The store and farm is open year around according to the employee! The day was beautiful and sunny so it made for a perfect visit to the field. There is a huge parking lot and you can grab a drink or bite at their store next to the lot. There are portable toilets all around the farm. The field was almost empty with about only 10 other people there so I was delighted to have the field almost to myself! The employee said that theres almost 1000 people a day during the festival!

Yelp
I bought 2 tickets Thursday for Saturday and already time slots between 9am and 3pm were fully booked. I purchased the 8:30am time slot ($20 per person + $2 fees). I'm glad we went early because it started getting pretty crowded by the time we left (10:15am). When we entered the farm, they were completely sold out of tickets. The tulip fields - maybe 65% were in full bloom. But it was still pretty. They had lots of employees to check tickets and direct cars for parking. The hot air balloon wasn't operational while we were there. Also, it costs $25 per rider for I think it's 5min. They also charge $12 for a train ride around the farm. We enjoyed walking around the fields and enjoying the view and ate an apple cider donut. There was a wooden shoe making workshop that was pretty cool. There were a fee families who had hired photographers & others who brought their pets to take photos. Bathroom - there are porta potties in several different locations. Overall, I enjoyed my visit.

Yelp
What a cute place! We came here pre-pandemic, a few years back. So it was our first visit in a while. It was fairly crowded when we got there. Hot air balloons were going. I don't remember there being so many food vendors or gimmicky activities the first time, but I guess it's good for kids. Lots of activities and food choices. It was fun to see poffertjes there. The flowers were beautiful, and you can check the daily bloom status on the website. The farm can't control the weather so to anyone complaining about bloom, well, you're ridiculous. Even at partial bloom, it was amazing. We got a ton of great pictures. It's a bit pricey, IMO, but I understand the cost of everything is wild right now.

Yelp
Fun way to spend an hour or two! Got a promo code through a hot air balloon company and tickets included parking. It was muddy when we went so wear boots! Dog friendly, kid friendly! Just can be slippery to walk around after a rain. Love the variety of tulips and different photo slots with benches, an elevated lookout, windmill, etc. There are vendor shops for snacks and gift items as well as their official store, you can also do wine tasting!

Yelp
The experience of getting there and parking felt a little chaotic, but they had plenty of people directing traffic. I took my dogs and they had a blast. I enjoyed that there were dogs everywhere! I didn't get a chance to really explore the activities and booths because I had scheduled a photo shoot for my dogs there and it was my main focus. It's really cool to see a giant field of tulips, though Ted Lasso fans will agree it's overwhelming haha I'd love to come back some day and have the full experience.

Yelp
This year the tulip farm had announced they were closing early, on April 28th so I jumped onto the website to purchase tickets during the week as weekends are always busy! Easy process and quick confirmation made ordering a breeze. I took my parents and we hit the jackpot of the day with the weather, sunny not too cold or too hot. Entry and parking was easy, clearly marked with signs and people directing. The tulips were absolutely gorgeous, a field of vibrant colors. While there were a lot of people for a Thursday, it didn't feel crowded as it's such a large area. The views of Mt. Hood were magnificent. The kite flying also provided for more amazing views. There were photo ops everywhere - the windmill, signs, benches, clogs, etc. There were also plenty of options for families, kids and food booths. The stores were cute and kitchy-we didn't purchase anything but there was a lot to look at. It was a perfect day!

Yelp
The experience here was maybe worth one star. However, the service and staff were phenomenal. Unfortunately, because of the cold weather this year, the blooms took much longer to sprout. Usually by this time, there are fields and fields of tulips to frolic through. This year, there were only two to three rows. The farm did a great job trying to show the blooms progress on their Instagram page. They also offered people who scheduled their visits to reschedule for a later time this week or even next year due to the lack of flowers. Unfortunately, for out of town visitors, it's hard to come back. We came here for an afternoon to get some cute Tulip photos. I posted a bunch here for you guys to be able to see what you can do with creative positioning with the camera and what the fields actually look like. If you're able to swing it, I would try to come back at the end of April or early May. IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Yelp
Great products in all colors. They come up faithfully when you plant them per instructions

Yelp
Very rude employees and owners. Drove two hours to see the tulips. Literally just wanted to see them, nothing else. Showed up a couple hours before closing. Parking lot was only about HALF full if that, on a weekday and they denied us to even look at the tulips unless we had an online ticket and claimed to be "sold out". Sold out of what? I was going to use my own device for pictures and didn't want to buy anything sooooo what exactly are you sold out of??? We left unhappy and seen other people parked on a public road on the back side of the field so we pulled up and then the lunatic owner came barreling down the road screaming at the top of his lungs to all of the cars stating "leave, no parking". No one was even out of their cars and he went up and down the road raging at everyone to leave. He doesn't even own the road! Very disgusting experience. The whole thing of it. We just wanted a peaceful evening out in the country away from the mad city since the whole world is a shit show but can't seem to even do that in the sticks. Update: owners response is a joke. It was not busy at all to worry about anyone's "safety". There was plenty of room for parking and in the many acres that were bare of people. Either way, it doesn't justify their poor service and manners of how they treat the public. Especially the guy in the pickup truck yelling at everyone like a crazed lunatic. There is no excuse for rude/toxic behavior towards anyone.

Yelp
What a delightful festival. Family and dog friendly, just be sure to walk carefully between the rows of tulips, or you will be checked. I could see why since a girl wanted "that selfie," got up close, bent, and broke the tulip. Not cool. Rules are there for a reason. There is a shuttle available for those who can't walk the full distance out to the fields and plenty of benches to sit on and rest if needed. Such amazing colors and a beautiful spring day. There were many varieties of bulbs and flowering tulips in pots to buy and we came home with some beauties!I'm glad I took the afternoon off to spend with my daughter.

Yelp
Visited the Farm for an enjoyable family outing 4/11. The tulips were spectacular. Unfortunately a great day was ruined by the rudeness of the staff member working the Wooden Show Vineyards Tent Concession by the main food area. We were his only customer at the time and he was curt and impolite to my wife as she deliberated her wine choice. So rather than ending the day with a nice glass of wine we departed the event with an unpleasant memory.

Yelp
Do not miss this!!! Not only are the flowers spectacular but this family run business is top notch. They have trams to assist those unable to walk, dozens of tasty food carts, rides for the kids and a beautiful gift shop. If you have the privledge of meeting Emily or Paul they will bend over backwards to make sure your visit is unforgettable!

Yelp
Drove 1 hour from Portland to check out the tulips with some friends today and it was worth the drive! Even in the rain, the tulips were as bright, colorful and vibrant as can be. We got a lot of cute photos, drank some strawberry cider, walked around the gift shop and brought some bouquets home with us! All of the event attendants, bartenders and cashiers were really warm and friendly. Many of the vendors were closed today due to the weather and the ground was a bit muddy from the rain, so naturally I recommend visiting on a sunnier day (we bought the tickets in advance - woops!). Rain or shine, the tulips are a sight to see!

Yelp
Great place to visit for tulips . Got the ticket for 830am session, and so strong suggest you should visit this place in early morning time because the sunlight was warm which was good for photography . Please ensure to visit the main farm instead of the side one . The tulips in main farm were much taller in different colors . If you would like to drone there , a drone pass is necessary ($10) please also reserve your tickets online in advance and it ran out so fast Note : no walkIn ticket available in front door

Yelp
I've been visiting this area for the last 10 years always in April so I can catch the tulip blooms. Depending on weather, we have ridden the hot air balloons that are there when not windy. Also love the kites, gardens, food, gift shop. We use to be able to purchase tickets upon arrival however now must reserve online prior to arrival. I do recommend visiting. I love tulips in April

Yelp
I hadn't been back here for a while. The timing, etc., just had not worked out. On a whim, we decided to stop by here. As we rounded the corner we noted it said to have your tickets out ready to scan. Well, we had not previously paid so we asked at the ticket booth they said for two of you it is $30. I was surprised because the last time I was here it was $5 a car on weekends and free during the week. I guess they charge all the time now. This was a Saturday so everyone was there. The nice thing is there are acres and acres of flowers so it's easy to keep your distance from folks (because we are still doing that). They had cut flowers for sale (four bunches @ $8 a bunch) about 9 to 10 flowers in a bunch. Not too bad. We of course bought four. You can buy in lesser quantities if you wish. All the vendors are here on the weekend including hot air balloons and food outlets. Also, the only restrooms are porta-potties (you've been warned). All in all a good trip once again. Apparently, you have to buy your tickets online so don't be like us. Do that instead. They took our card but I think it slows up the entry. Until next time!

Such an awesome place! We came on a rainy-er day but enjoyed it just the same! A great day trip from Portland.

Yelp
My husband, son, and I had adventured here today. Tulips are my favorite flower and the flowers did not disappoint! Beautiful colors and varieties of tulips. The only disappointment was the food which is why a star got knocked off. We tried a few places the pulled work sandwich was dry and had very little bbq sauce that was bland. The fries were limp and unseasoned. The donuts, funnel cake, and corn dog were good though.

Yelp
Before visiting Wooden Shoe, I only had about a 2 images of what tulips ought to look like; I had no idea the vast spectrum tulips span. I wish we had visited on a day when it wasn't absolutely freezing cold, windy, and muddy (from previous days of rain and a snow shower in April of all things). We were a tad under-prepared and under-dressed and the kiddos did not last long. Wooden Shoe's Tulip Farm is def insta-worthy and gorgeous to take in. They have hard slushies, wine, cider, hot cocoa, food, flowers, gifts, goods, and activities to enjoy for all ages, besides just taking photos of beautiful flowers. Def worth a stop if you love flowers and are in need of an activity.

Yelp
Very touristy!!! Reserve a spot online and you'll find a ticket via email! Open up your email and they'll scan your ticket at the parking booth. Adult $15 per person Plus $1.45 per person processing fee Total $16.45 Tip: wear a nice outfit from head to toe! It'll make a HUGe difference! You'll look extra pretty!!! Tons of free parking available! If you are scared of portable restrooms, I would recommend using the restroom before you get here!! I didn't see regular restrooms there. Tons of workers monitoring the traffic. There's a lot of extra FUN you can do that'll cost you extra! If you live nearby, you can even snag a bouquet of tulips! They have tons of vendors from little clothing, accessories, sweets, to food and even alcohol (beer and wine) There's even a playground for kids to run and play! Oh, and if you are willing to ride the hot air balloon... there's a bit of a wait. I'm sure the view is amazing! From a distance you can even see mount hood! It's hard to miss!!! Sooooo gorgeous!

Yelp
Tickets were selling out quick, but we were able to get on a Sunday towards end of the season. It was crowded but sufficient parking. We walked a bit to go to the fields and it is quite muddy, so wear appropriate footwear. Flowers were beautiful! Lots of photo ops. We even bought a dog (leashed). Lots of art and food vendors. Service was attentive.
