Stayed for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room was a little small but very well appointed and super comfortable; it is an older house so the small room wasn't unexpected. The staff are amazing; very friendly and accommodating. My wife has a gluten sensitivity and each morning for breakfast they prepared something for her. The location is literally steps away from the Woodley Park / Zoo Metro station elevator which conveniently takes you anywhere you want to go. Will definitely stay here again when in the DC area.

We stayed in room 121 which was large and very comfortable. This is a quiet and extremely clean house with welcoming friendly staff and owner. The breakfast was simple and included hard-boiled eggs, pancakes, waffles, toast, coffee, teas, oatmeal, and cereal. Perfect light meal before going out to explore. The neighborhood is beautiful and easily walkable with many different restaurants around the corner and a CVS and mini grocer about a block away. Wonderful experience and we will be back.

Our stay in this place was great. It's a 2 min walk from the nearest metro (red line) and to restaurants around the area. The staff was lovely and welcoming, would definitely stay here again!|Rooms5.0Service5.0Location5.0|Hotel highlightsQuiet|Nearby activitiesIt's located really close to the Zoo as well as to restaurants and convenient stores|Food & drinksThe Guest House includes breakfast and it caters Gluten free diatery requirements. Great location and the rooms and service are very nice. I enjoy the hosted breakfasts and love meeting new people there.

This is the 4th or 5th time we have stayed at the Woodley Park Guest House. It continues to be immaculately clean. The team is friendly and helpful. The owners are usually on property in the morning. The owners and the other guests have some great tips for nearby restaurants and museums. An added benefit is that the Guest House is less than a block from the Woodley Park Metro station. Highly recommend.

First time staying and would definitely stay again! It feels cozy and clean. Staff was great. I had a late check in and clear instructions were given to accommodate. Located near walking distance of many restaurants and metro. Thank you!

I can't recommend a stay at Woodley Park Guest House enough! It really is a home from home. The beds and sheets are extremely comfortable and you wake up to the smell of delicious breakfast and good coffee wafting up from the kitchen. It's very welcoming: Betty is very friendly, while the owners Laura and Raymond spend time getting to know their guests over breakfast. It's just such a special place to stay! ||The location is also excellent. Feels safe and residential, near to a parade of good cafes and restaurants and right by a metro stop.|| Will be coming back!

In my opinion, one of the best features of the Woodley Guest House is their convenient location across the street from the Metro. I also cannot say enough about the restored look and cleanliness of this establishment. Our room was large, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The two front desk ladies were friendly and welcoming.| Now, for the not so best features. The owners were far from the warm and friendly hosts I’ve come to expect while staying at a B&B. They did not ever sit and engage in conversation around the breakfast table as another reviewer stated. In fact, when they saw we had finished our last bite, we were asked to leave to make room for other guests. They host 10 rooms but can only seat 8 at the table? Their website states that coffee is available till 4:00 and fresh cookies are there for the taking. We had to ask for coffee at 3:45 (thankfully, Betty stayed and made a fresh pot, but she was clearly not happy about it) and the cookies are boxed, and not high quality at that. Not only was there no coffee after 4:00, the owners and staff are gone as well till the next morning. They leave an “only if a real emergency” number taped to the front window.| If you’re looking for an immaculate, nicely furnished, no frills B&B you’ll be satisfied. Next time I’m in DC, I’ll be staying elsewhere.|

Yelp
We stayed here in early November, 2022. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the morning breakfast chats were the highlight our our stay. The host is very friendly and engaging, and really makes everyone feel comfortable. They also provide a very nice breakfast buffet with a variety of options, including gluten free. The B&B is located in a nice neighborhood, conveniently close to the subway entrance making it easy to get around the city. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again when we come back.

Yelp
The boyfriend and I had been on the look out for a livingsocial deal in DC for awhile. We knew we wanted to visit, but didn't want to pay super high rates. When the Woodley Park Guest House livingsocial deal came up, we did a bit of research on the place and then decided that it sounded like a greta place to stay. This B&B is ranked #2 in DC on tripadvisor's website (#1 is owned by the same company) and I can totally see why they have such excellent ratings. The B&B is exactly what I was looking for. Right on a metro line (red about a block away, unless you take the elevator which is even closer) and had a number of things to do within walking distance. We arrived around 3pm on a Thursday and checked in and was given a quick tour of the place. Our room was the bay window room on the second floor. It was quite nice. After we checked in we went for a stroll around the zoo (three blocks up the road on the right). Then headed down towards Dupont Circle and got some great coffee (Filter) and some gelato! Then took the metro back. Everything was extremely clean and the staff was super helpful. We spent every night out on the porch drinking some wine (part of the livingsocial deal) and people watching. This is in a very safe part of town and all around nice. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area! My only complaint is that the boy and I like to sleep in and the walls are pretty thin so we could hear other guests knocking on the doors and talking, but that was a very minor issue.

Yelp
I stayed here with my brother a while back. When I visit D.C. in the future I will stay here again! Raymond is a fantastic owner who is so personable!

Yelp
Classy, quiet, and peaceful. Woodley Park Guest House is like a retreat without the spiritual overtones. I spent a wonderful evening, morning, and breakfast with Angela and Kelly, and it was so wonderful that I am going to make staying with them a regular part of pampering myself every now and then. I cannot recommend them highly enough if you are looking for something less corporate than most of what D.C. offers for travel lodging.

Yelp
Didn't have the best start with this place, since they made a pretty big production about us arriving 15 minutes after their normal 8:45 pm check in (we warned them about this when booking), and when we arrived, we realized our room door basically opened out onto the lobby and kitchen (so there was a lot of early morning noise, and people talking throughout the day- note it was Room 114). However, the staff did everything they could to compensate and make our stay enjoyable, including leaving free chocolates in the room the first day, which were appreciated. They gave us earplugs for the noise. The room and bathroom were small but very clean, with a comfortable bed and shower that didn't run out of hot water (yay!). There are no bathtubs in the house. Breakfast was very simple (no hot food) but filling and with many "continental" options to choose from. The location is great; very close to the Metro line and with a lot of cute restaurants in the neighborhood to choose from (see my review about "Open City"). Overall, I would probably stay here again since the place was slightly more affordable than surrounding options, but would avoid the first floor rooms due to noise issues.

Yelp
Stayed here 9/11-9/13 the pictures are very different from what you get. The room for twin is a size of a walk in closet and there is no bathroom attached. Its very noisy and not comfortable. The management refused to change the room although the site never mentioned there is no bathroom attached and they were extremely rude. I would highly recommend - DON'T STAY HERE

Yelp
My wife and I recently spent a couple of nights at this B&B for a celebration weekend in DC. We were very pleased with courteous staff. The manager even carried one of our heavy pieces of luggage up the stairs to our third floor room. Great location to get out and walk to restaurants, the zoo, the metro stop, and shopping. The breakfast was superb and friendly conversation with other guests the innkeeper, and staff. We will definitely book this again on our next visit!

Yelp
My husband and I were in DC on business, and we chose this guest house for several reasons. First, it has NO bedbug reports! (We never ever stay anywhere without checking the BedbugRegistry.com You'd think we were crazy paranoid until you start looking places up.) Secondly, we loved the location, as it is right by a metro station, and the National Zoo just before closing is one of our favorite places in the world. Thirdly, it has great ratings on TripAdvisor.com. We had a wonderful stay. Our room was on the ground floor, sort of basement-like, which didn't thrill us at first. But there was a dehumidifier in the hallway, and the room was dark and quiet at night. The bed was super comfortable. We slept like champs. The bath and amenities were lovely as well. My favorite part was breakfast. The owner greeted us at met introduced us to everyone at the table. We had some wonderful conversations in the mornings. The food is locally grown and made, and it is lovely and delicious. And plentiful. (We also loved the cookies in the afternoon.) I recommend this guest house most highly. We will definitely stay there the next time we are in DC!

Yelp
Such a charming place to stay. I purchased 2 nights from living social, eager to escape for a few days from our hectic life with a 1 year old. This place was fanastic, we felt at home from the moment we walked in the front door. Our room was cozy, the bathroom was small but immaculate. And that means a lot coming from me, as I'm extremely critical (and usually grossed out) by hotel bathrooms. The lady that worked at the front desk was awesome (I think her name was Kim?) She gave us lots of suggestions for what to do and where to go (we were pretending to be tourists) and even a place to park our car since we stupidly decided not to take the metro. Continal breakfast included cereal, fruit salad, fresh breads/pastries, boiled eggs, coffee/tea. Enough to get you started before a day on the town. The metro was literally a step from the front door, as was the Marriott Wardman park. I highly recommend taking the metro, as parking is limited and costs around $20 a night. Just a warning, there is NO TV and NO Radio! I was worried hubby would have a major meltdown, but he did surprisingly well, considering it was NBA All-Star weekend. We were having so much fun we didn't even miss all the technology. They do have free Wi-Fi and laptops for you to use. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because we were so cold. There was a warm spell that ended just before we came, and we were staying on the basement level, so it was pretty chilly. Unfortunately, we couldn't regulate the temps on our own. We will definitely be back, and will recommend it to our friends/family who visit the area.

Yelp
We live in the DC suburbs but selected the Woodley Park Guest House for a celebratory getaway. The location was incredibly convenient to the metro, great restaurants, hiking trails and the zoo. The decor of the hotel and room were very modern and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our complimentary glass of wine on the front porch as well as our breakfast with the owner and other guests. We would highly recommend this guest house and we were so happy to have found it for our weekend away.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking to get away for a weekend. We decided to stay here because a) it had rooms on short notice and b) it was close to where we wanted to go in DC. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was really small. I wish they could have gotten tubs for some of the rooms, but the shower was a nice size shower and it had hot water even though we were getting up with everyone else to make breakfast. Breakfast is continental. The fruit salad was great. The service is also really nice. Love the front desk girl. It's really close to metro rail. There is a password protected wifi. Even though they said lobby only, we were getting it in our room so that was a plus. The porch would be great, if it weren't so cold outside. The neighborhood is quiet. The floors a little squeaky but not a big deal. They have parking which is a big plus here in DC. Even though we are doing a late check out, we could still leave our car in the lot until we actually left DC. If you haven't tried parking in DC (especially during the Cherry Blossom Festival) you are going to have a hard or expensive time doing that. It's $20. The going day rate at a lot is $25. there are many great restaurants in the area and tons to do within a mile. Worth the stay.

Yelp
We stayed at this B&B while at a conference at the Marriott across the street. The guesthouse was cheaper than the Marriott and came with breakfast--a good start! The rooms are smaller but very clean. Location cannot be beat if you are wanting to be near the Zoo or at a conference in the Marriott. Very close to the Metro. The owner is welcoming, engaging guests in conversation. This is a B&B experience at its best: you are treated like a person, not just an anonymous guest. We stayed on the second floor and found the hotel to be fairly quiet. The Wi-Fi worked well enough for us to stream a basketball game on our computer (there are no TVs in the hotel).

Yelp
BE AWARE that they charge a non-refundable $35 booking fee. I was told it would be applied to my bill but was not told that, if I had to cancel, it would be charged to me anyway. I made reservations 5 weeks in advance and canceled two days after I made them and was still charged. This is dishonest and egregious. There are so many nicer places to stay that do not engage in this unnecessary form of commerce.

Yelp
Consistently I am greeted with incredible customer service and warm staff who genuinely seem happy to be there. The ambience and the feel of the Woodley B&B is extremely cozy and inviting. I have been a few times, and overwhelmingly my favorite thing is the breakfast! Choice of lox and capers, fresh granola and yogurt, various cereals and always hot tea and coffee, ideal way to start my day in DC. The guests are polite and kind and willing to speak which makes it feel nice to be there. I will be back very soon! -Natasha

Yelp
Opted to stay here over the $400+ a night marriot across the street where our convention was taking place. This charming little B and B will warm your heart! The office staff is so incredibly nice and informative, it was almost unusual to have a front desk staff be SO nice and friendly! My only complaint and the reason i didn't give 5 stars is due to the fact that you can't control your temperature in the room, we were cold the first night and since we were on the first floor, we were across from a kitchen area that sometimes was loud near our door/room. All in all, a great room and a great price. Definitely worth it so close to the metro and the fact that there are no TVs or radios is a plus...besides get outside and explore the awesome DC area!!! I will definitely stay here again when i travel to DC.

Yelp
This b&b is very nice on the surface. It's in a great location (less than 1/2 block to Woodley Park metro), it's very clean, and the staff is friendly. But I have to say that my stay wasn't exactly comfortable. First of all, there was a constant clicking noise heard all night in the room. Who knows what it was. I tries to investigate but it was coming from inside the walls. Second, my stay was in late January and it's pretty cold in DC. Well I can't say my room was much warmer. I slept in long sleeves, pants, and two pairs of socks and still used all of the blankets. There is no temperature control in the rooms so you are at the mercy of what the set it too. Lastly, the hotel is VERY noisy. My room was on the street side so I completely expected to hear street noise but in addition to that you can hear all of the foot traffic, front desk business, and breakfast conversations. It's pretty much impossible to sleep in. Unfortunately, for the price I cannot recommend this B&B. Maybe these small hotels just aren't for me.

Yelp
Simply Charming! I stay at Woodley Park Guest House every chance possible (if a room is available) on my DC trips. Close to the zoo, metro and restaurants. Wonderful continental breakfast served daily at a community table with guests involved in lively chats.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! I don't typically write reviews, but this is one establishment that deserves it. Courtney and her staff are superb. The location is great as is the service and affordability (compared to the other options). This is a mix that cannot be beat. I highly recommend staying here should you have any business in the area.

Yelp
A hidden gem. Right across from the Marriott. Great hosts and staff, comfortable, quiet, and very clean rooms. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I stayed here for a national conference that was taking place across the street at the Marriott. I really enjoyed the friendliness of the owners, staff and fellow guests. The personability was wonderful and it was so nice to wind down from long days with a bottle of wine on the front porch, or get away during the lunch hour from the chaos of 2,500 people. It was perfect for this conference since I did not have a lot of down time, but I wouldn't necessarily stay there by myself if I had a lot of time on my hands. My boyfriend and I will definitely be staying there when we go for a sightseeing visit.

Yelp
Great location. Walking distance from Adams-Morgan and a block from the Metro. Easy to walk across the street to the Marriott for a cab or car rental, if needed. Have been staying here on and off for a few years when in DC for business and love it. Courtney and Joe are very nice and accommodating. Rooms are always spotless, food is always good, help is always pleasant. Check in restrictions (as far as time) can be a bit tough when traveling from the west coast, especially with delayed flights. But worth it. Would highly recommend!!

Yelp
I stayed for three nights and I would definitely go back on my next trip to DC and will recommend this place to friends. It is important to know what to expect. This is a small guest house, not a huge hotel. I had a room on the third floor, so that meant walking up and down stairs. That was fine with me. (The staff helped me carry my suitcases up & down at check-in and check-out.) My room was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was small, but came with a smaller price tag - just what I was looking for. I appreciate that there are NO TVs and no elevator. That made it more quiet. The self-serve breakfast was good (fruit salad, fresh breads, boiled eggs, coffee/tea), and the staff were friendly and helpful. Clearly, they enjoy this business. The neighborhood is pleasant- good for morning walks. The DC metro is half a block away, and I could easily manage my luggage myself, so I did not need a cab or airport shuttle (saves $.)

Yelp
Our stay at the Woodley Park GH was wonderful! Special thank you to Courtney, Kelly and Jean for making our stay so outstanding. We look forward to our next visit to D.C. and staying at WPGH!!

Yelp
My son and I were in D.C. for a long awaited vacation. I am really glad that we chose to stay at the Woodley Park Guest House because the beds were so comfortable, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was spot on for me and the location was perfect. It was nice to come back to such a warm and inviting place after being out sightseeing all day. The linen was also so fresh that by the end of the day I could not wait to lie down on them each night. That is really important to me. It was like home away from home. They were flexible as well in allowing my son and I to stay an extra night due to unforseen circumstances. This is definitely our go to place when we are in D.C.
