Google
Quite possibly my favorite food stop the entire trip up the 1. Nearly everything is organic and locally sourced. I had the mushroom omelette with local shiitake mushrooms and a papaya smoothie. Both were great and the bacon may have been the most perfect strips I’ve ever had. The service was prompt and friendly, and their blackberry jam alone is worth stopping in for

Google
Hidden Gem! 💎 Great little restaurant to stop and grab a bite to eat. The staff is amazing- kind, friendly, welcoming and attentive. Food is delicious with lots of options for vegans. Fresh juice and smoothies available too! Cute decor and good vibes all around. Free street parking. Open 8am-3pm daily. Breakfast served until noon M-F and all day on the weekends. Highly recommend!

Google
Delicious and enjoyable place! Everything was incredible good and it really taste organic and fresh! Nice people and service! We love the salsas and the mushrooms on the omelette! We’ll definitely come back again!

Google
Friendly people, good food, good service. But they bring the bill before you ask for it. The menu had a great selection of vegetarian offerings. I had the house open face sandwich and the curry, coconut, mushroom soup. Both were excellent and a value at $16. Coffee was $4.75 on the other hand. This place is an old standby in Garberville. If you are thinking of coming into town, (from a campsite for example) check them out first, but don't be surprised if they are busy. The town has a few other options.

Google
I know this place is known for their brunch but we popped by for lunch as we were driving back to South Bay from Avenue of the Giants. Their grilled chicken burger and other sandwiches are just as delicious! We left very satisfied with the food. Folks are friendly and smiley. Good vibes!

Google
Nice little place to stop and get a quick bite. They only serve breakfast on weekends and close early around 2-3pm. They make their own hot sauces and the people are nice. The food was good, the lox scramble was delicious, the French toast was good. Wish I could have tried som elf the lunch food. Easy to get to off the 101, plenty of street parking and good for kids.

Google
Tried this place for brunch we visited redwoods. This is an amazing place with many vegetarian options. Staff is friendly making sure that your needs are met. The ambience is great to hang out and there is outdoor dining as well. Tofu Rancheros was great. And even the woodrose omelette!

Google
My partner and I had breakfast here with our 1-year-old while on a road trip in August. We loved it! We're both vegan and so we were happy to see lots of clearly-labeled vegan options on the menu. We had the tofu rancheros and a side of berries for the kiddo and we were all very happy with our food. Great fresh-squeezed juice as well, and a comfy cozy booth and great service. I highly recommend coming here, and we'll come back if we find ourselves passing through the area again!

Yelp
I had read good things about this cafe online, so I stopped here for a late lunch on my way through the area (they do breakfast and lunch, 8-3). There are a few comfortable booths and a few tables with chairs. Service by the two energetic young men on duty was excellent and proactive . The coffee was a strong flavorful French roast (refills if you want it) . As a carnivore, I had a 1/3 pound very tasty cheeseburger with local beef and a side of a fresh salad. But were abundant options for vegetarians and vegans as well, given this town is hippie central. The cafe is just off Highway 101 (if coming from the south, it is immediately on the right after you exit the freeway, at the beginning of town). The immediate neighborhood was not sketchy like it can be further into the town. This is my new go-to diner discovery, on the way north/south in transit to the redwoods, and I will recommend it to my friends who often drive or ride motorcycles north to south and vv, and I hope to stop by myself again on the way to/from the magnificent nearby redwoods.

Yelp
What a cute and cozy cafe. We happen to find this cute cafe -via Yelp-. Perfect stop before continuing on to our destination. Very impressed with the organic ingredients in their dishes ---it is evident in the fresh flavors and taste in each bite. They specialize in providing natural, organic, and locally grown ingredients. We enjoyed the: *VEGGIE CLUB SANDWICH * B.L.T *TOFU & VEGGIE DELIGHT. * TURKEY SANDWICH * VEGAN POTATO SALAD* Service: Welcoming and helpful. Perk: I was also thrilled to discover that they are dog friendly, as I was able to bring my Dog-ter along for the ride. Woodrose cafe is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
Woodrose is a cute cafe off of the main drag and from what we saw, they stay pretty busy. We were looking for some vegetarian friendly options and found something for everyone. You must try the fresh carrot juice! It was so good, I swore that my vision improved after drinking it. I ordered the special: a poached egg on a sourdough English muffin with melted vegan cheese and their fried potatoes. I loved everything and cleaned my plate. My friends ordered the French toast with sausage and an omelette. Both were good. We had great service, a wonderful meal, and we left full. This one is a keeper!

Bubba B.

Yelp
Walked in sat down got two cups of coffee. Got menu was told they only serve breakfast on weekends. You could see the pre made old breakfast ready in back. Was charged 10 bucks for not even good coffee. In and out less that 2 minutes. Only people in there.
google avatar

Celeste F.

Yelp
This was a great little cafe to stumble upon. Really great service and the carrot juice along with the Cali omelette was delicious! They also had great music playing :) Check them out

Yelp
Tuna melt was amazing! All our food was fresh and tasty. We came in right before closing and they served us which always nice. Kind service as well.

Yelp
Everything was like a fairy tale!! Super inviting, awesome service, awesome breakfast. Beyond! Thank you Woodrose Cafe Superstars!!

Yelp
If you are traveling through this area, I would recommend stopping by this quaint diner. Great food and service! Also good travel advice!

Yelp
Was looking for a place with food for my vegetarian and gluten free friend nearby. Found this place and we were pleasantly surprised with the food. Lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. I wanted tri tip but they were sold out and got their teriyaki mushroom burger instead. It was juicy and flavorful. My friend got the veggie burger on a gluten free bun and my other friend got the ultimate burrito. The burrito is not one you can pick up and eat but must cut with a knife and fork. The ingredients were fresh and we enjoyed our food. Service was decent as well. They were busy and it took them a little bit to refill waters, etc but we would return.
google avatar

Brett H.

Yelp
Wonderful food and friendly people in a small town. Greatly enjoyed the hour we spent there... dog friendly.
google avatar

Anya T.

Yelp
This place is dog friendly and has a good breakfast selection. Their bacon and lox with bagel and sprouts is seriously good!
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
Sadly, they don't have outdoor seating anymore. The food is still delicious though! Hamburger: Good, very large burger Parmesan Garlic Potato Wedges: Woah, these wedges were super crisp & flavorful! 50/50 Carrot & Orange Juice: Sweet and refreshing
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and service. My buckwheat pancakes were the best. Fresher squeezed OJ and carrot juice was a plus.

Yelp
We randomly stopped here. Purely by chance. During a Redwood road trip. Pulled of an exit looking for a grocery store. (June 2023) We had camped just about a half hour south the night prior. At a State Campground. (Standish-Hickey) Rather than make breakfast at camp in the early morning we packed up and hit the road with a cup of coffee in hand. Out intended day was to hop off 101 onto the 2 lane called "Avenue of the giants". I think this exit, heading north, is the prior exit? We needed ice to make it through the day. What a pleasant surprise. This cafe sat in front of the parking lot of the grocery store. They had just opened for the day. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly. We struck up a conversation. They gave us a map and pointed out some "must do" spots. This cafe is a "farm to table". With sides like homemade jelly. We enjoyed everything we ordered. It's small and quaint. Priced in the upper end of average on the $ scale. Certainly not over the top. If we travel this way again. We would certainly go out of our way to make a point of stopping here again.

Yelp
The Lox Scramble is dynamite! They have a signature Woodrose Benedict dish that is outstanding as well. I did not expect such a great place to eat in a such a small town. Excellent
google avatar

Julianne d.

Yelp
The restaurant has changed owners since we were there last and a lot of things have changed. They still offer all the organic things and fresh squeezed orange juice also. We were looking forward to a few things that we were used to having when we came to the Woodrose Café, but they weren't there, such as the eggs Benedict. The server was really nice and very informative and patient with us. They have awesome homemade blackberry jelly. I ordered the I believe it was called Bulger wheat pancake. It was incredibly dry, but probably good for me, Opposed to the buttermilk but I think I'll order buttermilk if I ever go back again, they had organic maple syrup and fresh butter too. It was an overall pretty good experience.

Yelp
We stopped on our way to Avenue of the Giants. Cute little place, great food and good service. Worth the stop for good quality tasty food!
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
This place exceeded expectations. It was just a pit stop on our road trip. At first I was disappointed because we thought we were going for lunch only to find out that it was a weekend day so they were serving brunch and therefore only the breakfast foods. But they had excellent scrambles, a very good gluten-free pancake, and very good service. I was taken aback when I found out how much my family had spent on smoothies there, but they thought the smoothies were very good!
google avatar

Yelp
A longtime Garberville institution. Service is always friendly and prompt. Food is mostly organic, with veggie options. Breakfasts are tops. As a local, I almost always order the quesadilla supreme, but with neither avocado nor chicken. Nothing wrong with either one, just my preference.
google avatar

Yelp
It breaks my heart to give a small local independent a bad review but .......... Basically, they charged me for two tea bags without warning. Stood at the counter, put the tea bags into MY OWN CUP, talked about tea all without warning me there would be an extra charge! Based on a charge of $4.25 for a .22$ tea bag X 2!!! Pretty much ruined the vibe. I was a server for 20 yrs, ALWAYS tell the guest about extra charges. Otherwise, food was good, service friendly, clean. Nice restroom. We still tipped 20% but we'll never return.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Wow! Stopped here on a recommendation. A perfect place to stop along 101 with delicious, interesting food and friendly staff. Bowl of curry vegetable soup with an organic chicken sandwich for a low price.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot for breakfast in Garberville. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Fantastic orange juice. Nice diner vibe and quick service. The huevos rancheros were good
google avatar

Sylvia S.

Yelp
Amazing food! Had their buckwheat pancakes, and they were terrific. They have many fresh squeezed juices. I had the orange juice. the bacon is a special bacon and it is amazing. Everything is organic. It is a bit pricey, but worth the money. I will come back. .
google avatar

Beverly O.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Bacon, some of the best I have ever had. Freshly squeezed OJ. The service was friendly and the ambiance - a little dated but quirky. Overall breakfast over the top good. Boyfriend had huevos rancheros and it was tasty as well. Would eat again if ever in the area.
google avatar

Nina T.

Yelp
The best huevos rancheros that I have had in years! The service was good. The place was packed for a Wednesday morning. Definitely recommend this as a brunch stop.
google avatar

Yelp
The Wood rose cafe has a great selection of vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options. Everything on the menu is certified organic as are the condiments and juices. I ordered the wood rose poached eggs which are a twist on Benedict eggs with a cheese sauce instead of the traditional Hollandaise , I chose the English muffin and spinach for my base and it came with the house potatoes. The eggs were cooked to the correct point and they were runny and soft, however they came smothered with a lot of the cheese sauce which unfortunately lacked any flavor and felt overpowering. I added some salt and hot sauce to make it a bit better but still was underwhelmed and tired of the excessive amount of sauce. Service was a bit slow, we waited about 27 minutes from putting the order until it came out, which is significant, but it seemed to be a busy Friday morning.
google avatar

Shelby F.

Yelp
We came to this cute, wood-paneled cafe at the recommendation of a friend. Small, decent sized menu with fine service. Made the perfect pit stop for my partner and I as we drove up to the Redwoods.
google avatar

Gretel V.

Yelp
Service was fast, portions large. Food was just ok. The potatoes were pretty bland despite appearing to be seasoned.

Yelp
This place is the cutest!! Was out in Humbodlt County visiting the redwoods and Woodrose Cafe came recommended by our lodge we were staying in. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Indoor seating is available but we chose to grab one of the outdoor tables instead. Only had to wait maybe 25 mins from getting a table to our food arriving and it was so delecious! Gets busy on the weekends but it's a small town so don't expect to wait more than 15 mins for a seat. Ide recommend any of their omlettes or scrambles. Great potatoes as well and their homemade cheese & salsa they put on the omlettes was amazing! They have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Seems to use fresh and sustainable ingredients and just has a comforting co-op vibe meets small town diner which was so charming. I loved the little garden they had on the side of the building with pretty plans and succulents. Decent pricing and an overall great experience. We will be back!

Yelp
So happy we picked this restaurant for lunch!! Delicious soup, burritos and tofu/veggies. Really nice people working there. Woodrose is a winner!

Tom K.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast. I love the fact that there were so many organic options, plus everything I ate was amazing. Lots of fresh juice options as well. Great service, and some place highly recommended. The owner or owners obviously care and deserve the recognition for doing a great job. A couple tables outside for seating and comfortable booths and tables inside.

Bruce C.

Yelp
Perfect roadside diner in mid -forest Humboldt County. Fast, friendly good food. Not overpriced. Your 1950's roadside diner fantasy is answered.
google avatar

Ash T.

Yelp
Woodrose is a nice little place off the highway that is a great place to refuel during a long road trip. Like most of the towns lining the 101 on the north coast, you exit the freeway in Garberville on one end of town and right onto the main drag where all the businesses are located and get back on the freeway in the other end of the street, so it's very convenient. Also right next to a grocery store in case you need to pick up additional provisions for your road trip. Anyway, I generally have one goal when I make a road trip pit stop - filling up enough to go another several hours but without feeling too full. Usually I look for places that serve basic sandwiches that are generous on the protein but without being smothered in cheese or sauce or greasy types of bread. Woodrose really just the spot in terms of the type of menu choices I was looking for.

Charlene A.

Yelp
Highly recommended this place! Had a delicious experience here. We have a long drive. This place gave us the delicious fuel we needed. Wonderful service and worth every penny! We will be back!

Jasper D.

Yelp
I knew California was expensive, but this place is quite pricy for a small café. The food was meh, nothing specular and also pretty expensive. I had the Local Grass-Fed Beef Burger with a side of Garlic Potato Fries. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy. So, I ordered a side of the garlic fries, and it was like maybe 6 big wedges. Which was pretty $$$ for 6 pieces!! The service was friendly and fast. The servers were charming and made us felt welcome. Overall, it was ok and was not too impressed. However, I will probably try another café during my next visit to Garberville.

Yelp
Wasted half an hour updating my Restaurant.com account and picking what to order. As of 6/8/22, their mobile website has a big green "get discount certificate" banner link at the top that takes you to restaurant.com. I was finishing my order and mentioned the restaurant.com certificate when the hostess on the phone informed me they stopped working with restaurant.com years ago. Seems like they should: 1) Remove this link from their mobile website (ie the one that opens from Yelp on an iPhone) 2) Remove themselves from Restaurant.com. I was still able to purchase a voucher for their restaurant (luckily it was an exchange not a purchase, or I'd be really pissed) Would be happy to update/remove this review if the above are fixed in the future.

Madison N.

Yelp
Great, friendly service and great meal! Sandwich ingredients were very fresh. Definitely stop in!

Hugh K.

Yelp
Delicious food. We ordered French toast, buckwheat pancake, the S-4 omelette, and fresh squeezed orange juice. All were terrific. Worth noting: This place is small and gets busy on the weekend. It's VERY LOUD. The young woman who greets customers is wholly unprepared to handle the busy times and, in point of fact, was quite unprofessional in how she handled would-be customers once the place got busy.
google avatar

Shivani M.

Yelp
Amazing!!! One of the best fresh orange juice i have ever had! The full house on the menu is the meal you have to get! The place is small but serves fresh organic food! Overall super!
google avatar

Barbara R.

Yelp
Woodrose was recommended to us by a local for a good breakfast. It's small but very homey and warm on a snowy day. Service was friendly and prompt. We loved that they use primarily local organic ingredients. Servings were generous. We'll return next time we're in Garberville.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! What a find! We were just driving through Garberville and looking for a place for lunch. We walked into this cafe and they informed us that it was breakfast only (probably because it was Sunday). I ordered the huevos rancheros with eggs and my partner ordered the same but with the tofu instead of eggs. When we received the order, we both sighed because it was a large platter and we didn't know if we could finish it. Well everything was so delicious we both cleaned our plates. I had some freshly made iced tea (aaah), and my partner had some coffee (which he reports had a decent flavor and was very dark). The cafe had many lovely-looking smoothies and juices as well as many interesting bottled cream sodas, ginger beer, and local IPAs. To their credit, they do not serve Coca-Cola or Pepsi products. This was such a great find! I will be back when I pass through Garberville again.
google avatar

Yelp
Ever been to Garberville? OK then, have you ever heard of Garberville? Perhaps you've smelled Garberville as you sped by on 101. Know what I mean, Cheech? So I decided to take a semi-spontaneous road trip up to Trinidad while Jamie W. was back in Detroit with the parents. I have to admit I didnt know the BBC called this town "the marijuana heartland of the US", but in hindsight, I guess it was puzzling to see dazed and confused hippies meander aimlessly in a town with one main road. I just figured they were lost, not like "hey-dude-got-a-spare-doobie?" kind of lost. Garberville has a population of 910, which makes it 2-1/2 times bigger than Trinidad. Sadly, it also makes it 2-1/2 times less picturesque unless wandering stoners are Instagram fodder for you. Well, I read on Yelp this was the most highly rated place to eat after driving through the drive-thru tree in Leggett. Apparently they were right because this vintage-style 1960's-era diner was packed with people I couldn't tell were locals or tourists since there wasn't any weed in the air. The staff was really laid back in here because it was close to 1PM and they were still serving their breakfast menu. Since I was sitting on my keester for three hours, I felt a need for something healthy, so I started with a $4.95 Small Fruit Cup, which was stuffed high with fresh slices of watermelon, pineapple, apple, and strawberries (photo: http://bit.ly/30dYkWA). A generous portion for the price. Then I had the $12.95 Tofu and Veggies, which was just a plate of steamed broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, red cabbage, and kale topped with sautéed tofu cubes flanked by a couple of slightly burnt slices of whole wheat toast (photo: http://bit.ly/30faFKa). Hearty and surprisingly flavorful, especially with a spritz of liquid aminos on it instead of soy sauce. So hippie-dippy, man. FOOD - 4 stars...healthy options offered for the sedentary road warrior AMBIANCE - 3 stars...retro vibe and quite busy SERVICE - 3.5 stars...good on follow-through TOTAL - 4 stars...well, if you get hungry near the Avenue of the Giants... Yelp
We love the Woodrose and have been coming here for nearly 40 years! The food is fresh and delicious. Lots of great menu choices, smoothies and so much great food. Cynthia was our server and she was fantastic! Don't miss stopping by here!

Therese P.

Yelp
Cute hipster café. They were almost closing so not many people. Service was friendly. Ordered a tuna melt with curry soup. DELICIOUS. Never had a tuna melt like it. Soup was hearty and flavorful. Highly recommend! Too bad I live over 250 miles away!

Yelp
My father-in-law go here every single day for breakfast we live locally my daughter absolutely loves their buttermilk, pancakes and sausage all organic and natural food if you're looking for something healthy it here!!
google avatar

Shara G.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town, per usual and we had very limited choices however this place had the most reviews and highest ratings. Did NOT disappoint! Service was excellent and the food was even better. Can't say we'll be in town again any time soon however we highly recommend trying this place out!
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
We liked it so much we ate here twice! Rosemary potatoes were a nice twist, especially with their house-made hot sauces. Buckwheat pancakes were delicious. Coffee was EXPENSIVE, but shrug :) A nice compromise overall between "hole in the wall diner" and "boujie brunch spot"
google avatar

Yelp
We were passing through and looking for a breakfast spot to stop off the 101. We were promptly greeted and seated. The server immediately came to our table and asked if we wanted coffee or water. They brought our beverages out within a minute. We looked over the menu for a couple minutes and he was back over to take our order. In total it took about 15 minutes for our food to be delivered. My fiancé got the Denver Omelette and I got the two egg and spinach Egg Woodrose plate. They did not disappoint. Plus everything is organic and they make all their sauces. The environment is a mix of locals and tourists that makes for a nice vibe. Very friendly staff, amazing food, and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Huge disappointment. I ordered three eggs chicken apple sausage and potatoes with an orange juice. To Go........ $24.40! 6$ For the smallest glass of orange juice you could ever imagine. absolutely average tasting. I asked her to at least fill the glass of orange juice up and she said that's how many ounces of OJ you get for six dollars! She seemed frustrated as if this is a common thing with this restaurant. I live in Marin County and used to high prices but I seriously feel ripped off.
