"Visit the Cape’s “elbow” at Woods Hole and you’ll discover a quaint village where time seems to stand still. It may not have the unending offering of mini-golf courses you’ll find in the busier mid-Cape, but what it lacks in gimmicks it makes up for in charm. The award-winning Woods Hole Inn Bed & Breakfast is the place from which to discover this quieter side of the Cape. Originally built in 1887, this B&B has been updated to offer guest rooms with generous square footage, private decks, restored hardwood floors, and cast iron tubs. Breakfast is, of course, a highlight of each stay (make sure to try the delicious homemade quiche). From here, it’s possible to catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard for the day—the ferry terminal is right across the street."

We stayed in the Penzance room for ten days - a great room with its own balcony, from which we watched the comings and goings of the boats and ferries. It was a fabulous stay and all the staff were brilliant. In particular, Ladonna was really helpful in booking local taxis and providing great general advice, as well as Michelle. A big thanks to Tina for the excellent breakfasts and recipes, and to Michelle and Debbie.

We loved everything and everyone we met - Amanda, Ladonna, Debbie, the housekeeper, and the three valets. The bed and the sheets were super comfortable, the food was delicious, the place is so pretty, and the attention paid to us was lovely. Thank you also for packing us such delicious breakfasts for our early morning departure this past Sunday. We'd love to come back!

Google
We had a wonderful stay at Woods Hole Inn. The rooms were very clean, warm and cozy. The breakfast each morning was delicious. We were even upgraded to another room because the room we booked was having some updates done. Amanda was so helpful and informative. She took the time to give us a detailed map with her recommendations listed. She went above and beyond offering help in any way. Perfect location for our day trip to Martha’s Vineyard

We had an early ferry to Martha’s Vineyard and decided to stay the night in Woods Hole. The Woods Hole Inn was convenient, staff were efficient and helpful. Parking is available and easy - our room was comfortable and clean. AND …in addition, Breakfast was delicious! We will stay again.

Google
Wonderful stay at the last minute! We needed a place for one night due to weather concerns for the return ferry from Martha’s Vineyard. LaDonna was very accommodating and the breakfast was quite good the next morning. Even when the storm caused a power outage mid-morning, we received special torch lights. Very friendly staff!

Google
Had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays at Woods Hole Inn! The staff was so hospitable, friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Breakfasts were healthy and delicious. Rooms were bright and clean, (with a nice refresh service daily). The sheets and pillows were like sleeping on clouds, providing the perfect sanctuary for restful nights. The Inn’s interior was so inviting for Christmas with a beautifully decorated tree and stylish holiday decor. Having the fireplace on in the living room before breakfast each day was so cozy and added to its historic charm. The Inn’s location is incredibly convenient and easy to explore the area with the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard right across the street! Wood’s Hole Inn made our destination holiday stay truly memorable for years to come! Highly recommend and will certainly be back!

Google
I can't recommend the Woods Hole Inn highly enough! Everyone at the inn was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. My room was lovely and the breakfasts were outstanding. I especially appreciated all the small details and cozy spaces that made me feel like I was a welcome guest in a beautiful, historic home.

I loved my time at Woods Hole Inn - a perfect location in a beautiful town - this place is idealic. The rooms large and clean with great facilities, the staff friendly and professional and the breakfast, amazing. I cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
The Woods Hole Inn is conveniently located across the street from the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and just a quick walk away to board the boat. As a first timer to Martha's vineyard, the staff really helped give some tips and really made it easy as they sell ferry tickets at the front desk. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. It really is a quaint and charming space. The breakfast in the morning was my favorite, literally home made cooking with many options like their egg casserole, yogurt and fruit, toast with jam, and some local coffee (from Pie in the Sky). The Woods Hole Inn is a great and reliable place to start your trip, highly recommend! Notes: Parking lot is in the back behind the Inn Rooms were recently remodeled (clean, spacious, and looks great)

Yelp
Don't let the small footprint, the crowds, the noise, the minor inconveniences, the ferries' whistles, etc., fool you. This is a first-class Cape Cod inn deserving of 4 or 5 stars. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the staff is welcoming, friendly, and solicitous, and the breakfasts are so good they defy description.

Charlene G.

Yelp
I love this inn. It is very historical and homey. You almost feel like you are visiting family. The hostesses, Amanda, Ladonna and Tina (breakfasts) were so kind friendly and kind, and always available for a chat about the area. I stayed in the Manemsha Room which included a sitting area with TV, mini-fridge and coffee station; and the bedroom with comfy bed and a fireplace! Perfect for cold December nights, although the temperature in the rooms was quite comfortable. The bathroom was modern but with an antique flair using some original pieces I am sure. The inn is on a busy street, so I would recommend a suite at the back for light sleepers. The ferry to Martha's Vineyard is a 2 minute walk, and several restaurants are within a 3 minute walk. The breakfast is home-made and delicious with self serve so you can have seconds if you wish, and I would recommend!

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. In a nutshell: the kindest staff, delicious daily breakfast, and cute, comfortable, and clean rooms - this B&B has it all, AND it is literally steps away from the Martha's Vineyard ferry. Starting with the room: (we were in Quissett) we had a super comfy and plush king size bed with a bathroom on the small side. I'd say the one caveat/warning I have is for light sleepers - since you are a throwing rock's distance away from the ferry, you will likely hear the ferry fog horn each time it leaves the port. The remainder of the building was so cute and quaint with beautiful floors, and the best breakfast. You cannot miss their homemade granola which pairs perfectly with the yogurt. They had different main dishes everyday including quiches, scrambled eggs, and egg bakes, as well as desserts (the cranberry bread was our favorite) and fresh fruit. It was all amazing, and the coffee was solid! Parking was literally right behind the building. You are right in Woods Hole walking distance from several eateries. We didn't get any bikes to explore further but I would recommend looking into this! Above all, I cannot speak highly enough of how kind and helpful all the staff were. Thank you so much for a great stay!

Yelp
A charming inn near the water. Great location. The staff was kind and the breakfast was exceptional. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This is the cutest, most quaint inn to stay at while visiting the Cape. We were there to sightsee in MV and Nantucket, so this little inn fit our needs. The promo video of the inn sold us from the start. Everything was so lovely, especially the people and the food! We loved the breakfast, and Tina even got up super early to create a wonderful breakfast casserole. Ladonna was amazing as well. I can't say enough great things about our experience at Woods Hole Inn. If you are looking for a cute place to stay, look no further. I want to go back. Side notes - if you like to sleep in, note that the ferry is close, so you'll hear the morning horns from the ship. Not really an issue....unless you want to sleep in. Also, note that the Tisbury room is only accessible outside the inn. That was an issue since we were all girls and wanted to be together and inside the inn. The team there worked with me to get me a new room, but I had to pay more. I wouldn't have booked the Tisbury had I known that. I'm just thankful I could be moved to another room.

Yelp
Called this place after missing the last ferry over to MVY. Mind you at 10 pm there was freezing wind and no hope anywhere in the local town--grandma and I crapped our diapers so-to-speak. After hours (aka closed already), I call anyway to speak to Mary Kate who woke up and sprang into action in getting us booked in. Her lovely colleague ,Tina-Marie, went to work in opening up our room on an accessible floor for my sweet, handicapped grandmother. Room was great. Comfy. Soft beds. Quiet. It was a bit too pricey though especially for the off-season. This is a must stay whether you get stuck behind or just want a nice stay while in WH. (Budget travelers seek elsewhere.) Not to mention a popular coffee shop is only steps away for the am arabica enthusiasts. Thanks MK and TM!

Suzy Q.

Yelp
Love and you should stay here...and look foreword to staying here again. There are just some basic caveats...it's super noisy, no matter room placement, a lot of street noise. It's very nice and I'd stay again just know there are not a lot of niceties. I didn't really care about either of the above... and hope that I will stay here again-- I am noting because the price is high based on the above and would want to consider and be aware and what i think Yelp is all about -- Location and rooms are great.

Jacquelyn T.

Yelp
Perfect location with the best views. Staff was amazing and very attentive and helpful with all needs. Daily breakfast was delicious and snacks left out to get throughout the rest of the day. Clean space with extremely comfortable beds. Perfectly decorated and cozy space with multiple common area, to hang out, patio and parking on site. Will definitely be returning!

Sara C.

Yelp
To start, my boyfriend and I loved staying here so much that we extended our trip by two days! We stayed in McLean, room 11 - which has a view of the main street in Woods Hole, gorgeous old wood floors, and a wonderfully big bathroom. The bed was INCREDIBLE. Like sleeping in a cloud. There's a great back deck to watch the ferries coming in and out of Woods Hole, and the downstairs dining area is a great place to people watch. Although it wasn't quite business as usual - no buffet breakfast, lots of precautions and limited interaction with the staff - we still had a spectacular time. Amanda in particular was very helpful in giving us recommendations, and the Inn also loaned us towels and beach chairs for the day. Woods Hole Inn is the kind of place I could see us returning to again and again, and I'm so glad we decided to try it out!

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful and charming! Woods Hole Inn was the perfect spot for a Valentine's Day getaway. Even during the off-season, they don't skimp on the perks. We opted for the late check-in and arrived around 7:45pm (NOTE: Be sure to tell them you want late check-in, or you might get fined.). First off, the girl at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. She signed us in and gave us a tour of the common areas before walking us to our room. It was definitely a much needed warm welcome after driving in from Boston on rush-hour, snow-slick roads. The inn itself was gorgeous. I loved how updated the whole place is; it exudes relaxation, comfort, and coziness. There's a iron stove in the front living room that is lit during the day and it's the perfect spot to warm up when you come in from the snow. We stayed in the Nonamessett Room and it was as comfy as it was beautiful. Everything was updated and modern, but with rustic lines and accents. There was a private deck outside, too, that overlooked the ferry. Even though it was cold outside, it was nice to stand out there for awhile and just enjoy a mug of the tea and the winter air. Breakfast was delicious. It was warm, simple, and tasty. The buffet of quiches, Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, pastries, croissants, eggs, bacon, and more will definitely get your day started on the right foot. The baked goods and puddings change every day, so you don't really get tired of eating it. At night, they usually leave out fresh baked cookies for late-night nibblers; since it was Valentine's night, they also had chocolate-covered strawberries. Mmmmm. Location-wise, this place is the bomb-diggity. Literally steps from the ferry and surrounded by local restaurants and cafes, the centralized location made everything really convenient. We drove to the Nobska Lighthouse to watch the sunrise and it was only a five minute drive. In better weather, I can imagine biking there would be a lot of fun. We also visited Martha's Vineyard before the blizzard hit and having the ferry right there made it easy to plan our trip to the island without worrying about parking. Speaking of, there is limited parking in the back -- there are about ten-ish parking spots in the back, and if you leave your keys with the desk when you leave, they sometimes rearrange cars to accommodate all the guests. I think there's a one car per room limit. Overall, I would highly recommend this inn and I will definitely be back.

Diane J.

Yelp
I love the Woods hole in right next to the Ferry. It's my quiet place before I go over to the Island. The innkeepers are very nice and the breakfast is very tasty. They also have Valet parking so you can go to other parts of the cape. I highly recommend this place loved it

Yelp
I had a great stay at Wood's Hole Inn over Valentine's Day weekend. This was, admittedly, during the off-season, and so I don't know how chaotic this area gets during the summer months, but I really loved just about everything here. B&B's in general are a wonderful thing; it's like you're visiting with a rich relative who happens to be a really thoughtful host and fabulous cook . . . you know, without all that actual "visiting" crap. The only bad thing is that they're usually decorated by someone with the taste of oh, I don't know, Anne of Green Gables. Wood's Hole Inn is perfect because it's got the charm and amenities of a regular B&B, but it's modern, eco-friendly, and decorated as if it were straight out of a Pottery Barn catalog. It's really, really gorgeous and has perhaps the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Oh, and the fooood. The fooood! My stay was about two months ago, but I still dream about this amazing custardy, cinnamony, perfect blueberry french toast we had one morning. Maybe I loved it more than my Valentine. Maybe. I don't know much about the area, but there's a cute main street and it's right near the ferry to Martha's Vineyard, so extremely convenient for a jaunt over there, too. Highly recommended.

James E.

Yelp
Romantic weekend away with the wife. I stayed in "room 4" and overall it was pretty pleasant. The only downside is the pipes banging just beyond my bathroom that got annoying. I am new to the bed and breakfast scene, but my wife swears by them... and she loved this one. The view of the harbor was nice. The breakfast was just okay for me, but I'm not a giant quiche fan... so there is a chance it could be amazing. Overall I'd recommend a visit if you end up in the area! The summer is probably beautiful and it's a walk out your door to the Martha's Vineyard ferry.

Jan G.

Yelp
Perhaps our favorite place to stay away from home. We do it twice a year. COMFORTABLE! FUN! And having a place to park a car ... Invaluable! Woods Hole village is fun, interesting. We are strong financial supporters of the nearby Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (http://www.whoi.edu), and will stay at the Inn when we have a function to attend. But we'd stay even if that wasn't an excuse ... DON'T MISS THEIR GREAT BREAKFAST. And, for us, it is crucial that an Inn or other be run sustainably, and the proprietors and staff are very sensitive to these concerns. Everyone is enthusiastic, helpful. We'll return again and again and again ...

Yelp
Just stayed here over the weekend for an off-season vacation at the end of December. I found this place through a Living Social deal. Now, the thing that really impressed me when I saw Woods Hole Inn's website is that their interior design is all clean and modern. A problem I have with a lot of bed & breakfast's is that they all look like they're just someone's home--mismatched furniture collected over the years, things looking old and maybe falling apart. Sure, these types of B&B's may be cute and have great service, but it's the small details that really make a world's difference. Needless to say, Woods Hole Inn is in 4-star hotel league. The decor is all new and modern. Some furniture pieces are clearly reclaimed from an earlier era but have been properly restored and made new. For example, there was an old wooden school table in the foyer of my room. The kind of table that has the big compartment underneath the writing surface for all your books (comics) and utensils. It was a nice piece and I wanted to take it home with me. It's those details that make this place great. They offer handmade soaps (I bought a ton, they make really great shaving soaps. Super lather) and their linens are extremely soft and clean. Breakfast is a decent continental with yogurts, granola, fresh fruit, bread and pastries, quiche, and other items depending on the day. Service is top notch and friendly. Love the fact there's just coffee all day long too. One thing that they should look into is the quality of their bikes. I'm a beginner, in fact I just learned how to ride a bike while staying there, and I don't think their wobbly bike seats really helped me. Not a deal breaker but compared to all the shiny items within the inn, the bikes don't really seem to fit. Totally stay here again.

Yelp
We love our stay at Woods Hole Inn. Great location, great room, tasty breakfast and nice people. We got there Friday night and there's a nice welcome basket waiting for us in the room. We went to Landfall for dinner and a walk afterwards. The Inn is right next to the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and there's a lot to do in the area. After breakfast on Saturday morning, we took the ferry to Oak Bluffs and spent our day on MV. We came back to the Inn after dinner and found some cookies and pastries for our desserts. There are also fresh fruits you can have anytime in the kitchen. Our room is more spacious than expected as well. Big bathroom and many nice touches throughout the room. I love the fact that they encourage recycling and being intentional about environmental friendly. There's a lot of movies for you to borrow during your stay as well. There's also a porch and balcony area for guests to hang out. I appreciate the fact that the rooms seem to be close to each other, but I never heard noise from my neighbors. Btw, I would recommend room 7. This is the only one I feel good about when I was doing my research. There are not too many pictures about each room. Hope my pictures can be helpful. Oh, their valet parking is great as well. Overall, it's a great two-night stay.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I just completed our trip to Woods Hole and we were so sad to check out of the Inn! We traveled up from New York for a romantic weekend away for his birthday and could not have found a better place to stay! We stayed 2 nights in the Nobska room which was absolutely beautiful with great views of the harbor. The decor and atmosphere inside the rooms and the inn itself are fantastic. Breakfast was delicious both mornings and I was actually shocked to see how close we were to so many great restaurants as well as the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard. Everything is just steps away! Highly recommend for a weekend getaway and we will be back for sure!

Yelp
I'm writing this review as an innkeeper on Cape Cod. My partner Ali and I have been in the hospitality industry our entire lives. We currently own a historic inn on the north side of the Cape, and have also owned a AAA 4-Diamond inn and restaurant in NY, among other ventures, so we know a little about hospitality. Beth Colt (owner of The Woods Hole Inn and its restaurants) is someone we hold in very high regard as she seems to do everything just right. The Woods Hole Inn's location speaks for itself--I know that many of the other reviews rave about it's ideal setting and proximity to the Martha's Vineyard ferry, the shops and restaurants of laid back and quaint Woods Hole, the Cape's best bike trails and the bustling and colorful Main Street, Falmouth. What WE love the most about The Woods Hole Inn is that it's the perfect spot for us to take a short break from our inn and responsibilities and go and feel pampered for 24 hours. The staff at Beth's inn are simply some of the best on Cape Cod. They are extremely knowledgeable, always quick with a recommendation or to answer a question and genuinely seem to love working at this special property (even the valets who were really fun to talk to--parking is free for guests, and if you know Woods Hole this amenity is worth its own 5-stars). The Woods Hole Inn is the perfect blend of feels--you know you're staying in a classic, historic property, but you're not giving up on any modern amenities (and the place is VERY clean!). For great meals you don't have to leave the property. Our 2 favorite restaurants in Woods Hole fall under the Woods Hole Inn umbrella (another testament to Beth Colt). The lobster tacos at the downstairs Quicks Hole Taqueria are simply some of the best things you can put in your mouth. As a published food writer, I featured these luscious tacos and their many home-made salsa choices in an article a while back that was WAY too fun to write. You can sit outside and bask in the sun, have a taco and a local beer and watch the world walk by. Around the corner is their other restaurant, Quicks Hole Tavern, a fun "farm-to-table gastropub" that overlooks the water and is as scrumptious as it is inventive (their "Pig Candy"--crispy pork belly with sweet apple jalapeño relish--should be featured as a postcard (if the beaches, seagulls and whale tails don't make your friends jealous back home, this will!). So, if you're coming to Cape Cod for some adventure, or a little romance, or perhaps you're just an innkeeper in need of a little pampering of your own, The Woods Hole Inn hits all the high marks. Thank you Beth, for restoring our souls!

Kiele T.

Yelp
Such a great inn! The staff was so amazing, the rooms were so cute, clean, and fully stocked! The breakfasts were so delicious. If you are thinking of staying in Cape Cod, look no further! Woods Hole Inn is the place to be! Our mini weekend vacay was filled with bike riding, sunset watching, massages, eating, drinking...nothing but rest and relaxation. We even went home with two WHI mugs as souvenirs! We will be back again very soon! :)

Yelp
Full disclosure: I did not actually stay here yet. BUT I am still in love. Read on... My fiance and I are planning a Cape wedding, and originally thought we'd use a venue in Falmouth. We stopped in the Woods Hole Inn to inquire about their pricing and options for accommodations for our families and wedding party. At that point, we were completely new to the whole wedding planning process and weren't sure what kind of reaction we'd get upon walking in somewhere and saying, "Uhhhhhh can people stay here for a wedding?" The girl who met us at the front desk was one of the nicest and most helpful people we've come across so far in our planning. (We are 99% sure her name was Amanda.) She explained the different options we'd have, and the pricing breakdown (which I thought was completely reasonable given the quality of the place). She took us on a tour of the entire hotel, letting us look inside of every available room in the inn. This is seriously, hands down, the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen. It is just perfect. It has the comfort and kindness of a bed and breakfast without the flowered wallpaper and doily-looking bedspreads. She even gave us a map of the area and spent 10-15 minutes pointing out local attractions--including circling various other hotels in the area so that we could check out all of our options. The venue didn't work out for us, so our search has moved elsewhere, but we would stay here in a heartbeat. Now that we have done the whole, "Uhhhhh can people stay here for a wedding?" routine in several other Cape hotels we now know that Amanda's helpful and friendly reception is indeed NOT the norm. If you are planning a wedding in the area, definitely go see it! We are going to try to stay here this summer for a couple nights just for fun since it's so stunning.

Breanna B.

Yelp
Our stay at Woods Hole was wonderful! The rooms were super cozy and comfortable. The layout design matches exactly what is represented by the pictures on the website. Breakfast was excellent and very fresh. The staff was always very warm and welcoming. The area has lots of small shops and restaurants to try, and Falmouth is only a 10min drive away. Plus, the Inn is located right in front of the boat dock for the Martha's Vinyard ferry, so no need to travel far. The ferry runs every 90min so never have to worry about getting stuck on the Vinyard for too long. I will definitely be choosing Woods Hole for my next visit!

Sara B.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay at the Wood's Hole Inn. We visited over the first weekend of April. The beds, rooms, and hospitality of the staff was fantastic. The beds were huge, comfortable, and just lovely. The rooms are decorated impeccably with a palate of taupes, sea greens and blues, and crisp whites. Amanda and the other staff members are so kind, welcoming, and happy to provide recommendations to sites or restaurants. The only caveat I would provided is that because we were in the off season the breakfast in the morning was a little lackluster. Breakfast was from 8-9. We arrived at 8:30 to find most of the food was already gone. They did not make any more food or provide us with any additional breakfast items except coffee. We completely understood that it was the off season; however we did expect someone to offer us something.

Kim E.

Yelp
I stayed in Woods Hole for a girls weekend in August and had a really nice stay. The inn is quite beautiful... it's an old building with lots of charm, but is well kept and decorated with quirky modern touches. I loved the beds, which were very comfortable and made up with pretty white linens. I also loved the natural bath products that were offered. I went to breakfast one morning, and it was definitely a step above the usual continental breakfasts that hotels offer... I had a yummy banana nutella bread pudding and some quiche. I'm only giving four stars for a few reasons... First, the inn keeper was nowhere to be found when we arrived for check in. I had to go around to the restaurant to find her (she was helping the valet guy move some cars). Second, the drain in the bathtub was clogged. Every time one of us would shower, it would fill with water. I mentioned it to the inn keeper, though, and she was nice and apologetic. The last thing we didn't love was the lack of an ice maker. Adding one to the common area (or putting mini fridge/freezers in the rooms) might be a nice touch to add. All in all, an awesome inn in a funky little town. I'll definitely be back!

Matt T.

Yelp
Great bed and breakfast right on the water. Perfect location. Staff is great and they have dog friendly rooms. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place you can go to with a pet.

Julia M.

Yelp
This place is great! 1 minute walk to the Martha's Vineyard ferry, 15 minute walk to the aquarium. The hotel is super clean, charming and truly beautiful. Has a modern twist to it so it feels homey and fancy at the same time. Their breakfast spread is delicious and fresh, even the coffee is good! Would go back in a minute!

Marianne L.

Yelp
Our third time here and we will be back. This is our favorite place on the cape. Park your car and enjoy the quaint Woods Hole downtown or take a short walk to the MV ferry. Rooms here are comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast is delicious and the dining/living room area along with their beautiful decks are open to all guests to enjoy all day long. Staff is so nice and accommodating. We love it here!

Michelle P.

Yelp
Knowing this was a B&B, we certainly weren't expecting a 5 star hotel, but we were expecting a clean facility. The fact that the front desk person's response was that no one had complained in the 5 years he had worked there left me very suspicious. The carpeting in our $350 per night room was so dirty and stained, I wouldn't dare walk bare foot on it. He apologized, saying it was probably done by the people that had just stayed there. Believe me when I say this was dirt and grime from many, many guests...and then for him to say he was at a loss for words...well to me, the quality of an establishment isn't always in the window dressing, but rather in the way in which things like this are addressed. We told him that we weren't very pleased with a charge so high in a room that was this filthy. After excusing himself, he returned with a recovery coupon to a corner bar... which was his "only solution" and was completely deserted...even the bartender was missing. I will say, the bed was comfortable and I got a fair nights sleep after my husband killed a bug crawling across the ceiling. To be honest, we didn't even take advantage of the complimentary breakfast...I couldn't wait to leave. Upon checkout, the manager Amanda, asked how our stay was and after explaining our experience to her, which she was already apprised of the day before, she had the audacity to offer us a $50 coupon good on our next stay of 2 nights or more! Are you kidding me? I would have given a better review had you thought to do that for this nights stay...

Art A.

Yelp
If you are looking for the absolutely best place to stay in the Woods Hole area, you have found it! The Wood's Hole Inn is the first class. The staff went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable and to answer any questions. We did request to have the owner, Beth Colt, join us for breakfast to hear about "The Big House", a book written by one of her family members about the history of one of the homes in Wood's Hole. Beth is a engaging lady and the stories that she told about the characters and history of the Inn as well as the entire area were delightful! On one of our days, we traveled out to Martha's Vineyard and couldn't wait to get back to Wood's Hole. The Inn is central to everything and we found we didn't need our car which was really nice. Just a quick walk to everything we wanted to do. We would only stay back at the Wood's Hole Inn when we returned to the area.

Yelp
Yes, we stayed there on a Groupon deal, yes, we got there on a snow stormy night and yes, may I say, staying here during off-season is one of the best, relaxing B&B experiences I've had. The location is the S*&T! Right next to the bus stop (if you are riding bus from NYC or Boston) and the ferry to Marha's Vineyard. Also it is the perfect place to walk/bike to the nearby beaches and woods. Room 7 is where we stayed. If you travel from a metropolitan area, you will be more than surprised the nice size of it. you get a nice queen size bed, big bathroom and plenty of storage places for your luggage. Amanda and others at the Inn were extremely helpful pretty much with whatever you need. How to get around, where to grab a bite for dinner, etc. The breakfast, OH the breakfast was the best part of all. They made the quiche like there's no tomorrow; the cinnamon buns are sweet and flavorful, and they even offer almond milk if you can't have regular milk (like myself). How thoughtful! The overall experience was too good to not to give them a 5-star review. Remember it is off-season still. I can't imagine how fun it would be during the summer time. Book fast! Cos you know I will book another trip soon!

Yelp
I recently spent a few nights in Room 7, one of the smaller rooms with no view. Lovely inn, very conveniently located near the restaurants in woods hole and a minute from the ferry (and trolley!). Breakfast was a step above cold muffins and coffee and I appreciated the fruit available all day. Bikes/helmets are available for rental - but do not come with a lock or any kind of a basket. Overall, great spot to make home base if you are exploring the area.

Yelp
Arrived for Veterans Day weekend, staff was awesome, our room was super hot and Jonathan was great, adjusted the heat and went so far as to assemble a fan and bring it to our room, breakfast is relaxing, fresh granola, berries, plenty of coffee, thanks for participating in BandBforVets, hope to see you soon

Yelp
What a lovely Inn! We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Woods Hole Inn. This magnificent building has been beautifully restored and has kept the charm of the original. A lot of attention to details to make guests feel comfortable and special: fabulous self-serve breakfast with something for all diets, microfiber sheets, starfish shaped soaps, unique room decor. We also enjoyed the public decks. I highly recommend Woods Hole Inn.

Yelp
My family has been coming here for the past 20 years for the Falmouth Road Race. The staff is friendly, the quiches served for breakfast are delicious and the rooms are quite spacious with a wonderful view of the ships arriving and departing from the dock. You are right in the center of town. I'm already looking forward to next year's race where I'll know where we are going to be staying.

Yelp
We just spent two nights in the renovated "Nonamessett" room. We loved everything about our stay, especially the really cool "rain shower" in our room. The breakfast was delicious - eggs and protein both days, with toast, coffee, juice, homemade granola, yogurt and fruit available - Sunday we had the most homemade delicious pecan bun! They had fresh cookies in the kitchen and warm gas stoves in a couple of locations to warm up by. The staff were very friendly. We would definitely go back!

Yelp
I cannot say enough about how gracious and accommodating the staff at the Woods Hole Inn have been. My sister and I book an annual surprise trip for our parents every year for their February anniversary, and this year we saw the Groupon deal for the Woods Hole Inn. After doing some preliminary research (and reading the Yelp reviews), we bought it and immediately called and reserved the Penzance Room. The staff was already impressively kind and helpful in booking us the room we requested. Cut to February, when my father has to have emergency surgery on the day that they were scheduled to take their trip to Woods Hole. Not only did the staff go so far as to honor the Groupon rate when my parents rescheduled for April (two months outside of the allotted time frame on the Groupon!) but they specifically rebooked the Penzance Room for my parents... and they didn't charge a thing. My parents just stayed there this past weekend and RAVED about it. They said the stay was perfect, from the unbelievably delicious breakfast to the extra-soft sheets on the bed to the chocolate chip cookies. My sister and I are so grateful to the entire staff at the Woods Hole Inn for being so generous and accommodating with my parents and for making their anniversary trip as special as it could be.

Yelp
Excellent! My second stay here happened a few weeks ago, this time with my mother, aunt and cousin visiting from overseas. The Woods Hole Inn was the perfect spot for the start of our vacation. Very close to the Martha's Vineyard Ferry, right in the center of Woods Hole with restaurants in walking distance. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and unique and the breakfast was wonderful. The staff make the experience perfect, though, a warm welcome from the front desk and the valet helped both with parking our car and bringing bags in. We were off to a great start and it continued throughout our two day stay. I will be back.... again!!

Yelp
I created this account just so I could review this place. My girlfriend and I just spend three awesome days/nights at the Woods Hole Inn. Everything was fantastic, from the room to the breakfast. The staff was great and really knew their stuff about the surrounding area as well as Martha's Vineyard. We stayed in room 7. It said on the website that this room was smaller but we had plenty of space for everything and the bathroom was huge! At night, if you get sick of the bar scene, I recommend getting a bottle of wine at the local liquor store and just sitting out on the back patio. I can't wait to return to this place next summer and I highly recommend it to any couple.
