Woody Island Eco Tours

Although we were on a yacht just passing through and only staying one night, the 3 staff who were there (Jim and 2 UK expats) welcomed us and were very friendly and most helpful. The natural beauty of the island is wonderful to experience, but the icing on the cake for us was the exceptional hospitality extended by the 3 resort staff on duty ⛵️👍😊

The actual best island off Australia. Completely untouched and the most underrated snorkelling in the country. No one ever talks about this place and it’s the biggest hidden gem in the land. Absolutely incredible. Nature lovers paradise.

Missed out first trip due to poor weather. Made it next year and had a great few days relaxing in a glamping tent. Beautiful views and decent Cafe for how remote it is. Some nice walks and snorkelling. So many birds and lots of lizards and a few ants. Worth the wait.

Great trip across the Bay to Woody Island. The guide on the day, Linda, was helpful and knowledgeable. On the way we saw sea Eagles and seals. The day tour of the island was interesting, the views spectacular. We were blessed to see some native rats, king skinks and numerous birds.

Les is a very kind man who took the time and effort to have a yarn with us. Knows this place like the back of his hand. Has alot of knowledge about the island and truly breathtaking experience. The guided tour was great with alot of history provided. Definitely worth the drive

Fantastic unique spot, a nice easy 2km loop walk up and around the island. Accommodation looked comfy and tidy, well maintained. Staff were friendly and the boat ride over was informative and scenic. Highly recommend.

Pros: the couple's retreat glamping tent was awesome, very comfortable bed/linen/towels. Staff were very helpful and the tour of the island was very good. Camp kitchen well equipped (kettle, toaster, microwave, gas stove) and heaps of fridge space if bringing lots of food. Tap water drinkable so don't need to bring this. Cons: we tried multiple days and times and left messages to contact the office and ask questions about our 3 day stay but noone returned our calls. So many mosquitoes, especially in the composting toilets and showers (use the only flushing toilets to avoid this). Menu is quite limited and not particularly healthy if you're staying a few days. Small bug - tea towels in the camp kitchen need a good wash, felt backwards to dry your clean plate with them.
