If I am not wrong, this is the only Thai restaurant in the Seward area. So we didn’t know what to expect in terms with the taste and overall quality… but it was such a pleasant experience. We ordered Red Thai curry which was lip smacking (chicken could have been little tender for my liking but the taste was 10/10). My husband ordered veggie fried rice which was loaded with vegetables, just how we like it! I would suggest going there with an empty stomach so that you can do justice to their quantity.

Google
Great Thai food tucked away in this remote town. Worth a walk across town! They have a fun fish tank in the back of the seating area to top it off. Our waitress was excellent, and we will probably be back later this week.

Google
We came to Woody's Thai kitchen for lunch during our visit in Seward. The menu had a large vegan and vegetarian selection. Being next to the cruise ship port, it's a great meal spot for tourists. For the starter, we had tofu corn cake which was crispy and tasted great. The yellow curry and pineapple fried rice are delicious. The service is warm and courteous. The interior had a great ambience and pleasant feeling. Their parking lot can accommodate upto 7 cars.

Google
Had a huge boat of Panang Curry with Chicken. It was soooo good I ate the whole thing. Incredible. Along with the awesome cuisine was about a huge coral reef with living corals and beautiful marine fish swimming in the dining room.. impressive for Seward, AK. A find I did not expect. Will be returning every visit to Seward.

Google
The food was great! Pad Vun Sen, Panang Curry and Tom Khar soup were all delish. Had to add some soy and Thai chili spicy sauce to the Pad Vun Sen to give it a bit more balance, but would still recommend. Service was a bit slow at the bar, so will sit at a table next time Will be back for sure!!

Google
Made to order from scratch for every order. We enjoyed shrimp pad Thai and cream cheese wontons We took a walk down by the water to wait… beautiful time spent Expensive average size portions

Google
Nope! I usually don't give bad reviews but my food was simply not good. We ordered summer rolls as a starter and it was basically a block of tofu with lettuce and some noodles. No flavor at all. I had the shrimp pad Thai and it was so bad I couldn't finish it. The noodles were mushy and it kind of tasted like ketchup. My husband had a $27 vun sen and if you like garlic I guess it's okay. Overall, overpriced and the tables are a bit greasy.

Google
One of the best chicken Pad Thais I’ve ever had and I’m from Chicago where there is no shortage of good cuisine.

Yelp
This place was totally full On a Saturday night so you may have to wait. I think it would be worth it. Serving sizes are really big. One main dish can easily feed 2-3 people or in our case; provide leftovers for at least 1 if not 2 meals. The wontons were in the lightest fried wrap I've had and retained a nice rice flavor. The sauce was good enough to drink. The chicken noodle curry soup was perfect after a long drizzly day on the boat. Nice heat, excellent flavor, and quality chicken. My friend had the Chinese sausage fried rice I had some it was also good. I'd still get the soup over the rice next time.

Yelp
Amazing amazing food....we were so hungry after a good hike up to ice fields and the food was just the cherry on the top to end the perfect day. Portions are huge so order accordingly. Bam- mi noodles, panga curry, Tom you soup were our favorite. If you are in the area, this place is a must.

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Food- yummy! Had the yellow curry with chicken added in. White rice that came with was done perfectly. Service- excellent! Friendly, helpful and quick. Just a delight to dine here.

Lisa D.

Yelp
My husband and I are locals to Seward, Alaska. We usually get the bacon fried rice add pineapple to share but since the start of the summer the food quality has gone downhill. We paid 28 dollars for rice that is burnt, not once but 3 times so far. I will not be returning to Woody's Thai Kitchen anymore.

Sarah A.

Yelp
Delicious Thai food in Seward, AK! We enjoyed sharing the Panang curry (ground peanuts, coconut milk, kaffir lime leaves, thai basil, chili, and chicken) at a level-4 spice (out of 5), which had a good level of heat (a lil'sweat by the end of the meal) and the Pad Thai (rice noodles, egg, scallions, ground peanuts, bean sprouts, tamarind, chicken and shrimp), at a level-0 spice (might've gone with a level-1 spice to perk it up, but it was good as was)! Good portion sizes (including a refill of rice with the curry) and friendly, prompt service. Would definitely return if we ever re-visit Seward!

Megha A.

Yelp
We found this cute place on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Google told us the place was open but when we landed there at 12:30 there was a note saying the place would open at 1. We decided to wait for 30 mins and we are glad we did! The place had a great vibe and the food was awesome. They even had a separate vegan menu which was so great to see! My husband said the massaman curry was one of the best he has had. The drunken noodles I ordered was just the right level of spice, really good! Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Just call in advance to make sure they are open!

Anna B.

Yelp
Quick food, average taste, terrible unfriendly vibes from serving staff. The yellow curry was super watery and tasted nothing like coconut milk. Overall we were glad to find vegetarian food, but sad to note the execution and delivery. Steep price to pay for curry flavored water.

Valerie G.

Yelp
Incredible food and vibes. Where the locals in Seward go, and have lots of menu options. More expensive of a place but you get what you pay for. You might need to call ahead if you have a larger party, there aren't too many tables but its worth it.

Frances S.

Yelp
Good Thai food. We were surprised to find that Thai food was readily available even in small towns in Alaska. We enjoyed our meal. Picked it up to go.

Taylor B.

Yelp
Amazing food, high quality - service was spot on and above expectations. Timely, professional, kind. Nailed our curry noodle soup and Tom khan soup, gave us extra noodles to go! Highly recommend!

Jackie B.

Yelp
My hiking guide, a resident of Seward, recommended Woody's and said it's where the locals go to eat. I can definitely see why. The food was delicious after a long day of hiking outdoors. We ordered the pad Thai and wontons and the flavors were great. The portions were large enough to split an entree. If you're in Seward I highly recommend.

Nikki R.

Yelp
This place is pretty cute and so busy! The service was really good. As we went to order, I asked about the appetizer to confirm that it was vegan- and the server let us know that they had a vegan menu.... A place with a vegan menu in Seward, Alaska?!?!! I still ordered the vegan veggie fried rice and added tofu- my husband ordered the vegan pad Thai. We also ordered the tofu corn cakes- those were really good! The veggie fried rice comes with pineapple which gives it a good little sweetness. I typically like it spicy so I asked for hot sauce and got Siracha. Overall, it was good. I would recommend it if got needed a good vegan option that wasn't a salad or fries!

David S.

Yelp
I got the tofu pad thai and was really expecting something good based on reviews. But it went downhill fast. The tofu was bad, tasted as if it had been previously cook, not used and then reheated. The noodles felt over-cooked (not crispy but more on mushy side). I give them an extra star because my daughter loved her plate and they did remove the charge off of my plate when I said I did not like the plate after eating like 5 bites. I wasn't expecting that so it was a pleasant surprise.

Maude L.

Yelp
Overpriced and not good. Awful Pad Thai and service. One poor waitress who could NOT keep up. This place is a tourist trap, go anywhere else.

Giselle W.

Yelp
Mediocre food, always have high hopes to get disappointed. Lacks flavor and quality. Do not recommend for the price.

David K.

Yelp
The food is absolutely amazing and the portions are large! The staff are so kind and welcoming, too. I was so excited to see they had vegan options in Seward.

Ryan Z.

Yelp
As one of the more reasonably priced restaurants in Seward, I was pleased with the food and no complaints with the service. I enjoyed Holy basil fried rice and spring rolls, both about what you'd expect from a typical Thai restaurant, not too spicy but plenty of flavor. It's not the best Thai I've ever had, but better than spending $45 on fish and chips down the road! The portions are large. One dish and one appetizer was the perfect amount for two of us. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
My picture and yes I said picture doesn't do Woody's Justice... We we're rolling into town on 8/15/2022 after getting the boat ready for the derby so eating wasn't a priority for us.. saying that I have always wanted to try Woody's so I made the call... The lady answered the phone and asked if I could hold and I said yes, it was over 4 minutes until she got back and she was super pleasant.. I knew they were busy and this was about 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. I ordered a combination Pad Thai with Chicken and Veggies, she said it would be about 20 minutes. My husband ran in since it was pouring rain.. we took our meal to the house and oh my gosh.. this was the Best Pad Thai I have ever had!! I'm so sorry I didn't get any good pictures this time however this won't be my last time!!! My husband said the place looks really nice inside so we'll definitely be stopping in for a meal when in town which is often!!

Pratima M.

Yelp
A laid-back spot for surprisingly authentic Thai food in the middle of the tiny town of Seward. We stopped by on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was fairly packed -- we had to wait for a little, but were seated pretty quickly. The waiters were very sweet and patient, and answered any questions we had about spice levels (they grind their own chilis, so you know things can get hot)! They were accommodating of vegetarian and vegan diets as well. For the food: Pad Thai -- a Thai classic done right! The noodles were perfectly chewy and the sauce was really flavorful. Holy Basil -- I loved the baby corn and tofu, went great with white rice!

Ajay K.

Yelp
4.5 stars would be more appropriate. That said, you wouldn't head to Woody's for the ambiance. You should however for the food. Excellent flavors in the two dishes we ordered and a nice beverage menu to support the flavors. We ordered the red curry with beef, and holy basil with shrimp. Both were cooked to perfection and were Spicy! Service was just fine but we were okay given the quality of the food. Clearly a popular place and rightfully so.

Yelp
An updated review to reflect the Covid service. Well, i find myself unable to fault Woody's for anything at all despite the Covid pandemic. It's affected many businesses adversely, in both service and food. That is not the case with the delightful treasure that is Woody's Thai. It has remained a calm oasis in a food tornado. Yes, we do still drive all the way down from Anchorage JUST to come here, and then drive straight home. Yesterday it was lashing it down with snow, the roads were not conducive to safe driving, and going through the pass, there were super deep snow berms at the roadsides. The roads were vaguely passable with snow tyres, but if you were in a regular wheeled vehicle without your studs, it would have been a greasy old drive indeed. It was not a drive for the faint of heart. But I had Woody's on my mind, and we go down every so often. Seward is just so quaint, and i do have a soft spot for it. For me, Chicken Panang is where it's at, my dears. The sauce is so creamy good, and then you bite into a sneaky chili, that makes your snotter dribble in the most delightful way, the chicken is plentiful, as is the creamy peanutty sauce. and there is lots of rice. It's a good filling and hearty dish, and i was destroyed with starvation (normally i eat maybe 2/3, and save the rest for later, but i was powering through it like it was an eating competition, and there was maybe 3 bits of chicken left but still a good chunk of rice, and had i had more of the sauce left, i may have saved it for later and stuck it into a tortilla and rolled it up amateurishly (I just CANNOT wrap a tortilla to save my life!) Anyway, i discarded the minute amount i left behind. Blake got the red curry with beef. It was hot. His nose was running vociferously lol. It was also delicious, and the size of the portion was even bigger then mine. We stopped on the way home in a pull-out, and whilst i got out and stretched my legs in the blizzarding snow, he got his red curry out, and had at it again. And he finished it off when he got home. These are big portions of good food. Napkins and flatware are never forgotten, and we have never had to go back and say "this isn't right" or "You forgot the flatware/napkins" it's been perfect every time, and a well earned Pandemic 5 stars from me.

Yelp
The food was INCREDIBLE. The service was excellent. Bacon fried rice was amazing and was huge! Fed my two boys and had left overs. Yellow curry chicken was also amazing!!! Highly recommend eating here!!!

Justice R.

Yelp
AMAZING THAI FOOD! Truly the best Thai food I've ever had. The atmosphere is great and the staff brings great vibes. We had the Fried Spring Rolls, Pad Thai and the Yellow Curry! Fried Spring Rolls: we are for sure coming back for lunch time tomorrow for this snack! The sauce that comes with it is truly so yummy. Pad Thai w/ chicken and shrimp: The best hands down. The sauce was amazing. Completely stole the show. Lemon Curry: you have to get this!!!! So yummy. Drinks: you have to try the Rekorderlig Botanical Spritz Cider!! We tried all three and our top two were the Passion Fruit and Peach Basil. They also have a great Pear flavor. If you do try this cider make sure to follow the directions on the can for a better taste! Everything was so yummy here! By far my favorite place that we have eaten here in Seward! If you have the opportunity to ask for Michelle you should definitely do so! She provides amazing service.

Terence D.

Yelp
I ate here both nights I stayed in Seward. One star for spicy level was perfect for me.

Jennifer O.

Yelp
We were so excited to find this cute Thai place in Seward! After a day of kayaking, we needed a hearty, warm, delicious meal, and that's what we got. Their noodle dishes were flavorful and had great fresh veggies. The portions were large. The prices are high ish, but that's how it is in Alaska. I would definitely recommend them.

Steve O.

Yelp
We called and they said they don't take reservations for a party of 8 but they have a table if we come down within 30 minutes. We come down in 10 and they gave the table away. I understand if there are no reservations, but don't say come down in that case. We had folks who struggled to get there quickly, so don't say come down if you won't hold the table 10 minutes. We've eaten here before and for Seward AK the food isn't bad. By city standards sub par, but the service was weak last time and now this, plus the mediocre food. Save your money and get seafood in Seward and get Thai in Anchorage. And if you call and they say come right down, don't believe it.

Regan J.

Yelp
I did take out here. I wasn't super impressed. The food seems expensive even for the area. I got the pad Thai and thought it was ok. The talk was that it came with a lot of food but I thought it was pretty average for a take out Asian restaurant. Can't comment on the environment because I wasn't in there long. Service was good. I was on hold for a while and after seeing that they gave both me and my friend a free Thai tea!

AngryYoungMan X.

Yelp
Decent Thai food in small touristy town of Alaska. Big portions, better than average food and fairly big portions. Prices are... well, its Seward Alaska. So everything is $$$ compared to lower 48 states. I would recommend if you are in mood for noodles or Thai curries. Generally not spicy but they are happy with accommodating requests.

Nathan B.

Yelp
I imagine it's hard enough to make amazing food at a restaurant. So splice that with getting 23-25 people in the restaurant at once and one wonders what a sort of product they will end up with. In my case, I was a part of the 25 person group, and my experience was AH-MAZING. The service right out of the gate was exemplary. Lots of great information about the beverages list. The food menu makes it hard to choose. So many amazing options. We had chosen our meals ahead of time (an option for groups of 25 apparently). Choosing ahead of time means you can't ask questions, but that was okay. All the food I saw was amazing. It appears one could NOT choose wrong. Shortly after we placed our drink orders, food starting arriving. It came out as they made it, and was all out within a span of about 5-7 minutes, which was super impressive. My meal was hot, fresh and full of flavor. The rice was separate. I chose to spoon mine into the sauce, but several options there! Throughly impressed with the flavors, service and atmosphere of this place!

Carvell S.

Yelp
Like the food but I'm not into hidden charges..I won't be returning. $30 for....seating ourselves, telling us our party wasn't big enough for the table we picked, no refills, only one waitress.

Akshay N.

Yelp
Food not good at all, service is too slow and menu is very expensive than restaurants around !

Rebecca K.

Yelp
I'm tired; coming down with a fever, my joints ache, and it's my birthday. As soon as my parents and I walk in, we could sit wherever we wanted because there wasn't a lot of people at 4:30pm. Food came out quickly. I ordered cream cheese wontons and the pad thai, which was DELICIOUS (and extremely filling). The pad thai was hot and made my nose run with it's comforting taste. The cream cheese wontons were delicately fried with the right amount of cream cheese. Was this place worth the money? Yes, if you split the massive portion with a friend. I'd highly recommend.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Just a quick drive from downtown Seward you'll find this lovely bohemian retreat. An array of the best songs from Madonna plays while you soak up the charming ambience. Every dish is made to order and our server Alissa was very nice to us despite our many questions. She was even able to make some awesome recommendations on local beers. Don't play with their spice levels, if they say it's spicy it is!! The food was fantastic and really large portions we honestly could have shared dishes but alas we have some take out!! Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

Alex S.

Yelp
The food is very good! The problem is that WAY too often they are closed during their business hours. I finally gave up on them and don't recommend them anymore.

Kadambari A.

Yelp
Only giving a single star cause it doesn't allow me to rate in negative. I get there are limited options available in this tiny town, but I would request you to pick Starbucks over this! We ordered 4 different dishes and all turned out equally pathetic. The Ginger Rice was bland with no flavor at all, Holy Basil was equally tasteless, the Curry noodle soup was disgusting and the Drunken noodle was made in some sort of old oil cause it tasted yuck! I rarely give such bad reviews but this place made me pick up my phone and put this before leaving the restaurant to make sure no one else goes through this shit!

Shirley R.

Yelp
Taste great and its shareable. Highly recommended. The service was great and fast. Ambiance was good.

M P.

Yelp
Walked 20 minutes to get here on 7/6, when Google said they'd be open. Sign on door said they were closed for the holiday, reopening on 7/7. Came back on 7/8 and now there was a sign on the door saying closed 7/7 thru 7/11. Seriously doubt this place is ever open. Do not bother coming here unless you want to be disappointed.

Andrea S.

Yelp
Amazing Thai food, relaxed atmosphere. The service was great and fast. The food is excellent! Highly recommended!

Bill J.

Yelp
I'm not sure what I expected going out for dinner in a resort town, but I suppose the LONG wait and overworked staff should have been part of my assumption. But the magically delicious food, with a generous helping of hunger sauce, made my memories of dinner here very happy indeed. The chefs did not disappoint! I had the ginger sauce dish with soft tofu and it was perfect.

Ankita R.

Yelp
Enjoyed our lunch and dinner on two separate days at this fabulous place. Loved the food here. We tried a few dishes during our visit here starting with fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce, holy basil rice, vegetable pineapple rice, Penang curry, green curry and drunken noodles. My favorites were the holy basil rice and green curry. Overall the food was very tasty and the service was excellent. Portion sizes are huge. Go here with a big appetite maybe after a hike or a long kayaking trip. Hidden gem in Seward. Definitely give it a try.

Ctal S.

Yelp
Very good food and very attentive and fast service. Salmon Panang curry was amazing!! Must try! Order Appetizers when they are busy it takes a while to get your entrees!! We had a good time!!

Shrey K.

Yelp
Decent Thai food in Seward. It was pretty close to Thai food I have had at other places. The dishes are usually on the milder spice side. We enjoyed this place and went here twice during our stay. Must visit if you are in Seward.

Nichole G.

Yelp
Incredibly slow service. We sat for 45 minutes before someone came to take a drink order. Once the food came, it was inedible. I sent it back and they charged me anyway. I ordered the "pineapple curry" and it was coconut milk, floating grease, canned pineapple and frozen cocktail shrimp. The meal was expensive too. $110 for two entrees and two drinks. Honestly, save yourself the wait and tummy ache. This place is trash.

Angela H.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We had the panang curry and our daughter had the yellow curry. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the spice level was on point. Big portions so plan for leftovers. So worth the price!

Family K.

Yelp
So good! Waited about 15 minutes for a table for 5 on a Saturday night at 7:30 and we'll worth it. Food was great- service was friendly & efficient. Serving portions were large- wish we had ordered 3 entrees for our family of 5 (3 teens) instead of 5.

Betsy P.

Yelp
Perfect late lunch after the Exit Glacier trail! Crisp, fresh flavors. Great service.

Tony M.

Yelp
Pretty legit takeout Thai food in such a small town. My wife had the chicken and shrimp pad Thai and gave it the thumbs up. She's pretty picky about pad Thai too. Cream cheese wontons were nice and crispy. I had the pineapple and bacon fried rice and it was everything that I had hoped it would be! Nicely cooked big cuts of bacon. Pineapple wasn't over cooked. Green onions. Egg. Simple. Perfectly executed though. Huge portion too. My eyes wanted to eat the whole thing in one sitting but my stomach couldn't handle it haha! Was great as leftovers the next day. Great choice if you are in Seward.

Michelle A.

Yelp
Sooo good. Always make sure to stop in when in Seward! The spring rolls are a go to for me!

Sagar K.

Yelp
Really really good! We got a few things, great quantity, and delicious. We got the 4 star spice which was hot. My ass will hurt tomorrow, but I still ate it since it was so so so good. Red curry, chicken noodles, and shrimp noodles. Amazing.
