Wooing Tree Cellar Door & Kitchen

I'd probably rate the dishes I had as a 3.5 because the arancini and duck confit dishes were just okay, lacking depth of flavor and richness, but the cheese platters and dessert were 4.5 stars and the wine was 5 stars. Husband was happy with his steak. The venue was also lovely, lots of open space, modern and lots of natural light. The service was also top notch. Would go again & try different items on the menu. Will definitely pick up more of their rose wine though, crisp, clean and delightful to drink.

Generous portions, local wines and friendly service. We enjoyed a quick lunch of squid, bread and olives, alongside two of their wines. Portions were generous for the price and service was speedy, despite it being busy. A great stop if you are traveling through the town. We enjoyed a wine tasting after lunch. They have a great selection of wines, although we felt the descriptions lacked the personal flair of some of the smaller wineries close by.

Wonderful meal at the Cellar Door. Delicious seafood pasta and a great wine suggestion to go with it. Started with a wine cocktail, listening to live music.

Would highly recommend this winery we decided on a late lunch. Had a bread platter and 2 shared plates delicious. With a glass of chardonnay and beetle juice pinot noir. The staff were so lovely and engaging will definitely be back again.

Had a wonderful session with Wooing Tree! Kate was very informative and you can tell she is passionate about their wines and the family. We also had a cheese platter to compliment the wines which was great value. The Blondie was my number 1 white while the Pinot 2019 was beautiful. Liked their wines so much I bought a few bottles to ship off back to Australia! Still cheaper than finding them in Aus! Central Otago has so many wineries and Wooing Tree is worth the visit!

We did a tasting here over the holiday period. Nice wines although not cheap. Then 3 couples had lunch all opting to have platters. Wise choice! All food yummy but what will get me to return here is that there was a good amount of bread for spreads, meat and cheese. Staff very friendly. We will be back!

We had an excellent lunch at Wooing Tree on New Year’s Eve. The food was outstanding, well presented and full of flavour. The service was friendly and attentive (thanks Kate!) despite how busy it was, and the setting is absolutely stunning. A perfect spot to celebrate the end of the year with great wine in a beautiful Cromwell location. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it.

The new cellar door is a stunning building. Dined there two days in a row and the staff, food and wines were amazing. Did a wine tasting, the staff were very knowledgeable.
