This is a fantastic place to stay whilst hiking St Cuthbert’s Way, but also a fantastic place to stay in Wooler full stop. Hannah and Tim are so welcoming and friendly, always ready with a smile! Wooler Hostel is a such a special place with lots of little chill out areas and the communal garden is a beautiful spot to sit and relax, with nesting blackbirds at the moment too! The history of the hostel is also really interesting and great to read about. Can’t wait to return!

We stayed whilst walking the St Cuthbert's Way. Got a great welcome from Hannah. The hostel is really well laid out and the owners have clearly put a lot of love into it. Loved all the info boards about the Women's Land Army - who occupied the building in WW2.

Great to see this former YHA hostel continuing independently. The new mangers are making visible improvements whilst maintaining the essential character of this historic wartime building. I liked the ‘artistic clutter’ in the large common room. My favourite hostel during my week long ride along the Pennine Cycleway which passes through Wooler.

Arrived to a warm welcome & much appreciated drying room during a torrential downpour. Our 2 bed en suite room was clean & quiet. There were lots of comfy communal seating areas and we had a full vegan fry-up in the morning, clearly made with love. Felt very well provided for and wish we could have stayed longer!

Stayed as a group of 4 cyclists riding the Sandstone way route, there is large sheds for bikes, good sized rooms (we booked 2 rooms) and a drying room, very friendly owners who welcomed us with hot drinks and biscuits We had full breakfast that was all locally sourced and was very tasty,

We parked here legitimately, in our VW Campervan for £20 overnight, and had full use of the hostel facilities.|The car park has approximately ten spaces, three of which are allocated to camper vans or small motorhomes.|Our hosts Tim and Hannah were incredibly friendly and accommodating .|We were given the key code to the front door, Wi-Fi code, and had use of the kitchen, common room, with free pool table, and piano, showers and toilets 24/7.|It is generally open from 4pm ish, and empties by 10.30 in the morning.|A cooked breakfast can be purchased, it is easy walking distance into town, and the co op supermarket.|Beautiful walks up onto the moors behind the hostel, absolute bliss.|Great plans for groups and craft events could possibly curtail spontaneous stop overs, so be sure to check it out first, you can easily book your space and pay online.|It is on Park4nite, but not yet on search for sites.|The theme is Land Army barracks for which it was purpose built during WW2.|Each dormitory or shepherds hurt is named after a local Land Army Individual, and the history is really heart warming, we will be back.

We had a fantastic stay here after walking the third leg of St Cuthbert's Way. The hosts were super friendly, greeting us with a cup of tea on arrival and doing everything they could to make us feel comfortable. The rooms are well equipped and lots of nice areas for downtime.
