"Blackburn Gardens and Double Bay Library, Double Bay by CoMa. Located right next to the Woollahra Council Chambers and above Redleaf beach - offering stunning harbour views, this beautifully restored heritage garden and old library feel like an oasis in the middle of a busy area. Cleverly hidden behind a hill, the garden comes as a surprise walking down the ramp from the busy New South Head Road. Ideal to have a picnic or just to read a book you will leave feeling you had a mini-holiday in a quiet paradise."

Absolutely love this place to study at, shops all around when I’m hungry. As a graduating student I spend a lot of time here. The staff is always helpful when I ask about borrowing chargers or needing help finding a book. The only issue I have is how busy this place gets! A lot of people come to study which makes it extremely hard, all the time to find a table! Otherwise love this place.

My favourite library in Sydney, in Australia actually!! One of the best opening hours, lots of places to seat and conquer the world!! Very friendly staff, and so beautifully decorated, spending time here always feels like home!! Thank you!!❤❤

What a beautiful library to visit! The place had a stunning architectural design. There's a small café and a mall nearby, so you can grab something to eat or drink before starting your reading or simply relaxing in the library. However, it can get quite noisy in the evening, especially after school hours when students arrive. I found it nice and quiet between 1 PM and 3 PM, which was the perfect time for me to read and focus in peace. I will definitely be visiting again!

Absolutely gorgeous library split across 3 levels in the heart of Double Bay and our local shops. PARKING: some side street parking is available. There is a public car park as part of the Woolworths building too. BOOK SELECTION: Very extensive with a great history section upstairs with carefully considered wide benches to bring historical documents out onto. INTERIOR: Modern meets quirky and minimalist. Several little nooks located around greenery areas and next to windows with plenty of natural light and the added bonus of being able to look downstairs into the shopping centre or outside into the street. With efficient double glazing blocking out external noise. There is also a larger for sealed quiet study area upstairs and several book-able meeting rooms for students to study in. For the kids there's also access to the slide (which adults can use too!) at certain times of the day. Definitely a place you want to keep coming back to, with children's areas well set up to snuggle in and read. STAFF: Very knowledgeable, kind and efficient. ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair, walker and pram friendly with access across all levels and clean toilets available on site. OVERALL: One of the best libraries around without doubt! Will continue to come back.

Woollahra Library at Double Bay is one of the nicest libraries I’ve been to. It’s modern, bright, and has a really calm, welcoming vibe. There are lots of cozy spots to read or work, and the views of the harbour are a bonus. Staff are super helpful, and they’ve got a great selection of books, magazines, and even some unexpected finds. Whether you're just popping in for a quiet spot or spending a few hours, it's a really lovely place to be.

Ravishing library, lovely interior, felt the vibe as soon as I came in. Plenty of space to sit, excellent to read and work individually or with a group. Wide range of books and easy to look for. Friendly staff, didn't have a chance to talk with them but they smiled at me every time I passed by. There's a small playground for the children so it was quite noisy sometimes. But most of the time, it was remarkably quiet. I enjoyed my time there and would certainly comeback.

loudest library in Sydney, although the space is unique and visually appealing - There needs to be compromise or even some consideration for local students who do require some relatively quiet time to study especially during exam periods. Opening the slide during prime time for study only creates a space for distraction for everybody and prioritises young kids fun while disregarding everyone els's ability to focus - need to buy new noise cancelling headphones...

A beautifully designed, well thought-out space that caters to a variety of community needs. The greenery around the library is absolutely stunning. If you are planning to use the study/ quiet spaces I would recommend arriving early as these tend to fill up quickly and are consistently full throughout the day/ year. Noise is not really monitored/ policed, and highschool students tend to be disruptive when arriving after school - perhaps keeps this in mind when planning your visit.
