We had heard that, if in the area, this was a must try experience. The evening that we visited was lovely. Clear skies, no wind, lovely sunset and no dust-it was, unusually, green and lush. All of which enhanced the experience. Sitting on the deck with a wine, with that view, was definitely a highlight. We had viewed the menu and prices, prior to booking, so were prepared for the cost of the meals. We believe the meat is all from the Rawnsley Park property and there are no other facilities (restaurants) close by, let alone providing the experience of what was genuinely once a working farm woolshed. Considering this, the owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the originality, whilst providing a lovely dining area in a beautiful setting. Although the platter seemed pricey, my friend and I decided that we would order this as a way to try many different options. My husband ordered the lamb stew. We were all VERY pleased with our choices, then followed up with small, but divine desserts. There was a slight issue with our final account. Once questioned, it was adjusted swiftly, with genuine apology for the error, which occurred as a result of one staff member asking another to make the entry on the tab. The restaurant like you to check your "tab", prior to payment to intercept any oversights. Overall, we felt the experience lived up to our expectations and would love to do it again.

Absolutely loved our dinner. Lovingly prepared and presented. High quality food perfectly cooked. We had the kangaroo and lamb shank and enjoyed both immensely. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service.

A huge surprise with the quality of food and variety. We were staying at the station and came over for dinner one evening. It was the bbq meat buffet and it was awesome. Everything is prepared on site - I mean to get fresh whipped cream with your dessert, tzatziki and hummus that is made in house was just fabulous. Chef is humble and attentive. The staff are friendly and being as busy as they were absolutely brilliant. Thank you.

The woodshed itself was a great location and beautifully set up, however we were so disappointed with the service. Having been told to try the lamb shanks and booking in a week in advance, when we arrived at 5.30 and ordered the lamb shanks the waitress advised us that the Chef had not prepared them in time and it would be a two hour wait for them. We ended up ordering the $58 steak which arrived and was cold. My wife ordered the Chicken thigh which arrived in a bowl of peas.$42. We also ordered a bottle of wine which took twenty minutes to arrive.

It was a delightful night, service was 10/10. They were booked out and short staffed but everyone was still smiling.. the food was absolutely devine. We shared the lamb plate, I highly recommend it... Great service, great food and warm atmosphere...well done everyone!

The staff were very friendly not only to us but to our dogs. I had the lamb shank, and it was so tender it fell off the bone mixed in with the mash it was so heavenly. My wife had the barramundi, and it did not disappoint. Almost converted me to eating the fish instead of the shank. My 2 daughters had the kids spaghetti napoletana, but they said they didn't like it. Being from an Italian background, it tasted like it was from a can/bottle. We all had dessert, and none was disappointing. The portion size could have been bigger. The food was on the pricey side, but that is to be expected for such a remote place. However, a bit more filler options like extra mash and veg would have stopped our hungry bellies. So close to 5 stars, but still a great place to eat. It was a cold night, and being with dogs, we had to sit outside. Possibly better heating and cafe blinds would have made a bigger difference. Keep up the great work.

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Woolshed while staying at Rawnsley Park Station for my birthday, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! Despite it being a fully booked and very chilly night, the staff went above and beyond to find us a cozy spot to enjoy a drink while we waited for our table. Their warmth and hospitality were incredible. The lamb platter was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection, and the dessert was not only delicious but truly a work of art. The service throughout the evening was exceptional. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant—can't wait to return!

The Wool Shed Restaurant's website promises a rustic, outback experience like no other, but what we encountered was a starkly different reality. The establishment's greed in offering table service and accepting bookings far beyond its capacity is frankly unacceptable. The complete lack of management and adequate staffing was painfully obvious. We were forced to wait over 15 minutes for a simple drink order, watching as other patrons who went directly to the bar were served first. The atmosphere was not one of a unique dining experience, but of chaos. We had to listen to the constant, annoying ringing of a bell from the kitchen, and it was genuinely upsetting to see the few servers running around, visibly overwhelmed and overworked. The high prices for food and beverage at this restaurant are no excuse for such a shambolic operation. During what is clearly a peak season, it is a failure of both management and staff training to allow your employees to be so unprepared and your guests to be so poorly served. This was not an experience, it was a frustrating display of greed and negligence.
