We had heard that, if in the area, this was a must try experience. The evening that we visited was lovely. Clear skies, no wind, lovely sunset and no dust-it was, unusually, green and lush. All of which enhanced the experience. Sitting on the deck with a wine, with that view, was definitely a highlight. We had viewed the menu and prices, prior to booking, so were prepared for the cost of the meals. We believe the meat is all from the Rawnsley Park property and there are no other facilities (restaurants) close by, let alone providing the experience of what was genuinely once a working farm woolshed. Considering this, the owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the originality, whilst providing a lovely dining area in a beautiful setting. Although the platter seemed pricey, my friend and I decided that we would order this as a way to try many different options. My husband ordered the lamb stew. We were all VERY pleased with our choices, then followed up with small, but divine desserts. There was a slight issue with our final account. Once questioned, it was adjusted swiftly, with genuine apology for the error, which occurred as a result of one staff member asking another to make the entry on the tab. The restaurant like you to check your "tab", prior to payment to intercept any oversights. Overall, we felt the experience lived up to our expectations and would love to do it again.

Booked the special Spit Roast night (Wed 5.50pm sitting) and was immensely impressed by the buffet presented meal. Plenty of hot food, salads, two desserts plus fruit platter too, meant all tastes were provided for. Staff were great, but people were turned away (very politely) as the restaurant was 'Closed' for this special 'Bookings Only' meal. Take time to read the Rawnsley Station story display in the 'upper' area - so interesting. The regular menu looks great too (takeaway available) so The Woolshed provides a lovely evening out in a remote beautiful setting. Just remember to BOOK IN asap in order to not miss out.

We had a lovely dinner at the Woolshed. Shared the lamb platter which was generous and well cooked. 4 varieties of lamb and the rump was our favourite. Serves were generous and drinks reasonably priced. A surprising and most enjoyable dinner in the outback. Do go if you are staying at Rawnsley Park. 2 course meal approx $55 ph.

If you just want "a no nonsense" type of meal then the takeaway menu is the better option. If you are like me and just want to sit down enjoy the views l and grab a parmi then the restaurant isn't the place to eat. I struggled to find a "meal i would enjoy, but I did have the barramundi which was good. Its a bit expensive though. The reason it got a 4 star is the views from the balcony are amazing. Its also dog friendly

Absolutely loved our dinner. Lovingly prepared and presented. High quality food perfectly cooked. We had the kangaroo and lamb shank and enjoyed both immensely. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service.

Hmmmm… not quite sure about this place… ordered a G&T… to relax before food… it was on the table 5 mins later…. We had the lamb platter… very good though Service got a little slow after that… staff very pleasant… ?All backpackers… It didn’t have a restaurant vibe to me… more like an upmarket cafe Great location though

Starting with the barmaid the experience was brilliant. The was coverted woolshed was superb. I had the lamb shank which was very tasty whilst my friends had the shared platter. The wine was quality and the whole night was under $100 a head. Considering we arrived early for the happy hour thats pretty good value. Walking away I had that pleasant feeling in my stomach which is always a true tell of an enjoyable experience. Hmmm. Well worth the experience.

A huge surprise with the quality of food and variety. We were staying at the station and came over for dinner one evening. It was the bbq meat buffet and it was awesome. Everything is prepared on site - I mean to get fresh whipped cream with your dessert, tzatziki and hummus that is made in house was just fabulous. Chef is humble and attentive. The staff are friendly and being as busy as they were absolutely brilliant. Thank you.
