This place has such a cool chill vibe. The staff were very respectful, friendly and helpful. There is seating inside and out. They were out of wings and Mac and cheese fritters by 2pm, which was a bummer. I ordered the chicken tenders mild with mac and cheese. The chicken tenders were moist with a perfect crunch, the heat was warm and not overbearing. The Mac and cheese was like noodles in mashed potatoes, it was unique, but the flavor was good. My husband got the hot hot chicken sandwich with French fries. The fries had a mild dusting of flavor which was great mixed with the ranch dressing. The fried had a nice crunch with a soft center. He said this is the level of heat he expects when there are warnings or cautions, he appreciates actually getting the burn he is promised. Wayyyy too many chicken places claim heat or spice and he doesn’t even tear up. My only disappointment was the cost, it was $42 for a Sandwich meal and tender meal with 1 drink. I feel like there were up charges not listed or reviewed.

We were in Fishers, and asked someone where to eat. She recommended this place. We were so glad that we drove there. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and there was a little market right outside of the place with a live band even!! We ate out on the patio and listened to the music.

Google
Good taste but be careful with the spiciness since they're really spicy. I ordered mild+ and it was too hot for me. The portions are great and the restrooms are clean.

I think the vibes in here alone make it worth the visit. Definitely a stand out compared to the Carmel location. They also host tons of local artists and vendors for first Fridays or just when the weather is nice. The owner is cool and a few of the servers are really cool to talk too. It's not a lot of seating but that's okay, it works for this place. If you wanna eat or hang (but definitely eat, I recommend the Swamp Fries if you live greens) this is the place to be.

Google
I have to say, from the info I got from door dash customer service- where they can actually review the picture they received from the dasher picking up the order to the picture they take where they drop off the order I was a little upset. I spent $52.00 on doordash for two meals from here. I was really excited to try this place, but one of my whole meals was missing from the order. I ordered the sando meal w/ no pickle & slaw on the side w/ fries ( the meal that was missing ) and my fiance had the sando meal with no pickle, slaw on the side w/ mac n cheese. I did get a bite of his sandwich and a bite of his mac n cheese, both were pretty good. My fiance got the mild+ and thought that it definitely couldve been saucier. I agreed. Still good though! The door dash company can actually see the photos like I said… so in both photos there’s only one meal in the bag. It just sucks to order from somewhere, especially when it’s costs that much. I would recommend 100% to just go to the location and enjoy the food. I would not recommend ordering through any 3rd party app. Unfortunately. So then in person you know you can actually enjoy the food, get what you ordered and get extra sauce if need be.

Google
WOAH - best hot chicken sandwich I’ve ever had! Mild plus was perfect. Tender juicy chicken with a great crunch. Tasty. Fried Mac and cheese balls were a treat. Service so much fun! Space TONS of fun! My husband said his burrito was the best breakfast burrito he’s ever had. Can’t wait to be back!

Google
Best fried chicken sandwich and best collard greens I’ve ever had. Cool atmo, good music. Love.

Google
My family and I’ve eaten here quite a few times now. Some people say it’s overrated, but I completely disagree. It is a little bit pricier but so are most things worth eating these days. The fries are good with a nice dust of spices on top. Their greens are good, but a little sweet for my preference. Their Mac is amazing. The étouffée is slept on in my opinion. The sandwich is my go to, I absolutely love the flavor and crunch that always smacks me in the face on the first bite. Just be warned they do not play around with their spice level. Mild+ is gonna be for people who like a little kick. Medium and up is when it starts to pretty hot. For reference we eat scotch bonnets, habaneros, and Thai chilis comfortably in moderation. The first time we ate there, we didn’t know any better and we got their second spiciest level. We were in pain.

Yelp
If you're a fan of spicy chicken, this spot is a must-visit. To begin with, the place is known for its incredible spicy chicken, offering multiple levels of heat to cater to every palate. Whether you're a spice novice or a heat enthusiast, they have something for you. The restaurant itself is small and cute, with a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for casual dining. In addition, they don't just stop at great food. They also sell branded merchandise at their locations. My go-to order is their Sando Meal #1, which is consistently tasty and satisfying. Their mac and cheese is my favorite side, creamy and perfectly seasoned, balancing out the heat from the chicken. Moreover, I've been to this restaurant several times, and I'm always impressed by how clean and neat the space is. Furthermore, the service is outstanding. The team is always friendly, efficient, and ready to help with recommendations or adjustments to your meal. Overall, this place is a gem for spicy chicken lovers, combining great food, excellent service.

Yelp
This is a must-try! I am not into super spicy food, but I got the Tender Sando Meal in Mild and it was perfect. Still a burn, but enjoyable! My fries were delicious and the coleslaw on the sandwich took it to another level! I also really enjoyed the bun. I love this Hotboys location for the VIBES. It's very small (maybe 10 tables), but there's always a constant stream of takeout orders whenever I'm there. It's such a cool spot for a quick bite if you're in the Fountain Square area!

Yelp
I have eaten here at the Fountain Square location twice. And both times the experiences were underwhelming. Service: The first time my partner and I went, ordering was fine, it was when I was asked for my phone number and then told him my phone number afterwards when he said "OKAY, hold on." He immediately went from 0-100 in terms of his attitude as if I had done something wrong or said something wrong. The next problem I had with this first encounter was that I ordered ranch, and he looked me in my eyes and said "it's gonna be a dollar extra." And he didn't say it with a normal/general attitude of letting me know that ranch costs extra, he said it in a very upset demeaning way that made me tell him "yeah, I know.". I get my order from the same guy, he forgets my ranch. No problem right? Wrong. I walk back in and ask for my ranch and again, he goes, "you know it's a dollar right?" And that's when I tell him him "you forgot to give it to me". His face turned red, not from embarrassment but from being angry. This guy at the counter has a HUGE chip on his shoulder and shouldn't be working as cashier. The second trip I had last night. A small group of us order food, again, no problem there. We get a text telling us that our food is done. Well me and a friend get up to grab our food and no one comes out. The woman who took our order says verbatim "just wait a second, he'll come out with your food". We wait for 5 minutes and the woman who checked us out say "can you look up?" Referencing the sign that says "pick up here". I was livid. Absolutely rude behavior. First says that someone will hand me my food to can't you grab your food yourself? Shocked. Food: food here has always been great but last night the food made our stomachs upset, but I know that hey have made quality food before. Ambiance: they have music turned up to a 20/10 blasting out in the front of their patio that is absolutely loud. Other than that they have a great location and the inside of the place looks cool. They need new staff asap. Extremely unfriendly and don't care to talk back to the customer, I'm not sure when things have changed that when you go pay to eat out that you get antagonized. As a side note, also noticed some body who wasn't an employee go around the counter and begin checking himself out or editing his own order. Again, this place needs somebody to do a full evaluation of who works here.

Yelp
I was here for a meeting with some of my alumni before they had to leave for college, we ordered our food and it came out pretty fast! I enjoyed the chicken sandwich with fries, it was very tasty! I also get training wheels for spice, because while I enjoy spice, I don't want my sinus draining as I eat. Love how it's decorated there is a fun mix of lights colors and other interesting decor. Check them out if you are in the ft square area.

Yelp
Normally I wouldn't review somewhere I've been so many times, but this was the next HotBoys experience I've had. The food was so delicious and it was a perfect day to sit outside in FSQ.
google avatar

Stacie B.

Yelp
The food was good and we loved both the Mac n cheese and the fries. I appreciated the options for spice and heat so my mild was doable and not burning my oh so sensitive taste buds. The wait was short even though they were busy, and we loved the ability to sit outside in the sunny day. The music choices were just not our thing and sort of ruined the experience for us. I work with a diverse group and this found some of the lyrics to just be over the top - so be warned about that if going and eating in. We might go again as the food was good, but would only take it to go.

Yelp
Second time in Indnpls, but the first time for World Famous Hotboys. The talk is primarily about how hot is Hot and how much of the heat can you stand. As a huge fan of spice, but a hungry hungry contestant who wanted to enjoy my food rather than suffer, I opted to try the Medium Hot. Will admit that it was an ideal amount of spice to have heat but still enjoy. Brandon ordered the Hot and pretty much suffered the entire time. The few bites that I tried of the Hot were tolerable but it could have been a completely different experience had that been my entire sandwich, it gets stronger the more of it you eat. Do they sell milk? That could help?

Yelp
I've been hearing about this place for a long time so I was finally able to go check it out during Fountain Square's "First Friday" monthly event! I can happily say it was worth the wait! The chicken is amazing! I had the Chicken & Waffles with mild heat & my wife had the loaded chicken fries that were STACKED with toppings! (Not pictured because they were half gone by the time I got my food and as you can see I was so excited that I almost forgot to take a picture myself!) It can be a little tight inside, but they have a very nice patio outside and I love the vibe and old diner type feel to it. Lastly, if you love spicy, you'll love how spicy things can get but be cautious!

C A.

Yelp
It was a very relaxed, casual atmosphere playing hip hop. The big downside was there was a guy sitting near us that was whispering under his breath and then yelling out curse words and cursing the city. Not that it was the fault of the restaurant, but a bit interesting lol. The food was incredible. I've been craving some fried chicken, never can get it right at home, and my husband and I ordered way too much food for us to eat there and brought the rest home. Service was very relaxed but friendly. Thank you folks for the delicious food! You order at a counter and they do bring your food to you, but then you dispose of your trash when you're finished. We ordered three sando combos. One thigh filet medium plus, the other two white meat medium. One order of loaded fries, and a Smakin' Mac n' Baked Potato. The food was absolutely delicious.

Yelp
A cool, vibrant chicken spot open late on the weekends located in the heart of Fountain Square. This place always have the best bangers blasting through the speakers and top-notch chicken sandwiches and tenders with customizable spice levels. I'm a baby when it comes to the spice so I stick with the mild, but they have options with more heat or no heat at all! Fun, friendly staff, and I never have a problem finding parking on the weekends. Definitely my personal favorite hot chicken restaurant in Indy :)

Yelp
Was in the area for a show downtown. We got into town late and the show started at 9:30, so we didn't get a chance to have dinner until almost 1:30am. My wife found Hotboys on DoorDash so we decided to give it a try. She got the chicken and waffles...I got the Guap fries. Wow! We absolutely loved it. The chicken had a fantastic flavor. Fries were crispy. Waffle was fluffy and sweet and paired perfectly with the spices on the chicken. Couldn't have been happier with our late night dinner. If we are ever back in Indy, we will make a point to get them again. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I had an awesome takeout experience at Hotboys. When you walk in, there is a little counter you order at. There are menus at the counter, as well as immediately to the left when you walk in. I call this out because there isn't a big menu board elsewhere. The service at the counter was friendly and willing to take my order/help however possible. As part of the ordering process, you give them your phone number, and then you wait until you get a text indicating the food is ready, at which point you go to the pickup station at the back of the restaurant. While the process was a little different than what I'm used to, it was all very smooth and easy. The food itself was awesome. As all good chicken places do, they threw a piece of white bread in the to-go box to soak up steam and avoid a soggy chicken experience. I got the mild+ spice level because I was a little scared to go hotter, and this was a great mix of flavors without being too hot. Next time I will try the medium. The chicken is crispy and the ranch dipping sauce was also great - not a traditional buttermilk ranch, but still excellent. For my complementary side I chose the slaw, which was just okay. I will look for a different side next time. I also got Mac fritters on the side. While they were good, especially the breading/seasoning on them, they were a bit too rich for me and I will only get them again if I have someone interested in sharing them (as seen in my image, they come in a five count). The only other thing I will call out is that the portion sizes aren't huge, especially for what you pay. It's not a too significant of a lack of value to bump me down from a 5 star review, but it is worth calling out. If you're on the hungrier side, I'd recommend ordering more than you think. I will absolutely be back in the future, likely to try their sandwiches and see how they compare to the tenders!

Yelp
I would like to start by saying I LOVE their chicken sandwich! The chicken was so juicy & flavorful. The sauce went to well with both the sandwich & the fries! I liked the fact that they had the mango flavored Jarritos drink, there's not many places that have that flavor available. I also loved that they had South Park on the tv, definitely gave me nostalgia vibes. From the outside windows having the led flame lights, you could guess the inside has fun stuff that would catch your eye. I loved the light up chicken head masks, the flame led light portrait & the race car flags hanging from the ceiling. They also sale Hotboys hoodies! The service was great! The guy taking our order filled me in on the flavors & which options were the most popular ( I chose the Southern flavor). We didn't have to wait long at all for our food. They don't have a parking lot so you would have to park on the street.
google avatar

Priscilla Tames D.

Yelp
lLove this place-from the quality of food, to the cool atmosphere, it's a treat to visit. I accidentally reached the owner's cell phone when trying to place an order and he was nothing short of amazing! he knows how to treat customers and has to be why this is such a successful place! you should give them a try!

Yelp
This spot is always a party. Great music, great food, great people. Listen to the warnings and do not get hot hot unless you are a masochist and like it to burn going in and coming out.. otherwise any other heat and flavor is delicious! The drinks here are amazing and they have an outdoor section to enjoy them in when it's warmer. A must go-to for anyone in Indy or visiting. They were based out of Cali before opening their Indy location, and have another location in Carmel now that I have not been to yet.

Yelp
What a fun place to eat and dance! Who would think you'd have so much fun at a restaurant? I had chicken tenders with a side of collard greens. I tried the grimace (grape) adult frosty and it was sooo good in this heat! We had a group of 10 of us. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed their food. The staff was very helpful, explaining the menu to us. The menu is a lot to look at and comprehend, haha . I was impressed by how the staff handled the hustle and bustle with the crowd. The place is nonstop busy! We went on a Thursday night and they had karaoke outside. How exciting!! Music, food, karaoke, adult beverages, what more do you want? There is free parking located on the street.

JaMille T.

Yelp
Loved the food! And every 4th Saturday there is a Live D.J spinning the wheels of steel! This was the after party for a concert I recently attended in Naptown! Plus I've always like the Fountain Square area.
google avatar

Kendal S.

Yelp
Great service, great vibes great atmosphere. I absolutely LOVE a good chicken sandwich. This one is at the top with some of the best of them. I could tell with them using a chicken thigh it brought the flavor and juiciness to another level. I don't normally go for the "hot" dusted style stuff but this flavor was elite still with it. Got a couple tenders and they were perfectly made. No surprise given the perfect crispy of the sandwich as well with the breading. Side of Mac and cheese wasn't amazing, but what would I expect. It still did its job in a way.
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
Ordered on DoorDash and was not expecting this to be as amazing as it was. Highly recommend! The chicken has the perfect crisp and spice. 100/10
google avatar

Karissa R.

Yelp
The meat on the chicken sandwich was so disgusting that I couldn't eat it. It was gray, dry and stringy. We ordered takeout and didn't open the box until we got home. I tried contacting the store but never received a response. We've been here a few times and never had a bad experience like this.

Laura A.

Yelp
Such a cool spot. Amazing chicken!!! So spicy. Efficient operation it was crowded but the service was so fast. Really glad hotboys chose Indy to expand east from west coast.

Yelp
Stopped in with my friend who is visiting from Cali and I'm glad we did! Our food was GREAT, our adult slushee was PERFECT, and the cashier was NICE! My friend went with their famous Sando and I tried their breakfast burrito We both enjoyed our food! The decorated walls near the restroom is so unique and cute!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stumbled on this place a year ago, while walking to a different restaurant. The overall look of the building caught our eye and we decided to try it out! Since our first visit our food has always been hot and delicious. We've been to Nashville style hot chicken places before and this place blows them out of the water in regard to food, service and ambiance. The spice level is higher than you'd expect, I'd recommend the Medium spice first time you go. In addition to the crispy, hot chicken you also get a house made sauce that can be best described as a super savory ranch dressing. It compliments the chicken beautifully. The restaurant is decked out in eccentric and whacky decor that borders on maximalist and it's what makes this place so charming and allows it to stand out. In addition to delicious food they also have a bar serving up beers on tap, hard seltzer, and mixed drinks. If you go in the evening, prepare for it to be busy. Especially in the summer! You'll see people enjoying some food and drinks on a warm summer night on their patio. Definitely THE best chicken in the Indy Metro area.
google avatar

Madison C.

Yelp
Favorite chicken in Indy! Limited seating inside, but they have outdoor seating as well. I usually order pick-up & it's always excellent. The decor inside is cool & it's a good place to take photos for online content. They do cool pop up shops & events when the weather is nice. Definitely recommend checking it out!
google avatar

Montrew N.

Yelp
Wow. Very good chicken. I had the tenders. 2 large and the were so juicy and the spice /mild was awesome. I could maybe have done the mild + for a bit more heat. My boys got medium at they said it was quite a bit hotter than mine. The Sando w thigh meat and slaw looked good. Mac cheese was rich and good and we liked a bit of spice on the fries. The sauce is like Canes. The wings on the waffles were large! Cute decor. Very fun. Would recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
What an institution. As a native Californian it's pretty cool to see a CA business open their one out of state location in Indy. I've never had it before because I don't spend much time in the Bay Area but no doubt the region has some of the best food in America. I've been here a couple of times, the Hoosier fries are the perfect way to destroy your body in the best way. Amazing. The chicken sandwiches are great, even a vegan option which is nice. The heat levels are there so be careful.
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Great sandwich!! Traveling on business and pulled up Yelp to find a good local place. This caught my eye. Their best seller is The Sando Meal, which is a chicken sandwich, with a patty made from thigh meat, pickles, cole slaw and their special sauce. It comes with a side and I chose the collard greens, which were very flavorful and hot (as in just off the stove). Apropos to the name, you choose the level of hot sauce that is put on the sandwich. I went with medium plus. I like spicy foods and can tolerate some high heat, but I wasn't looking to push any boundaries today. I found medium plus to be very pleasant. I'd probably step up to hot on next visit. The vibe inside is awesome with colorful decor, setting it apart from an otherwise fast food setting. The music was New Order, bringing me back to an 80's mood.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Loved this spicy chicken delight! I'm so glad that the friendly employee warned me about how the spice levels work before I ordered though- a little goes a long way. So I ordered some mild tendies along with some crispy fries. The mild sauce was spicy! But just enough that I didn't feel like my face would melt off. The chicken was hot and juicy and did not disappoint. The crinkle fries had a spicy sprinkle on them too which was really good. The restaurant is small for sit down eating but we got lucky to grab one of a few booths. Definitely will be stopping by again for some more World Famous!
google avatar

Brandon T.

Yelp
Tried this place recently and was really impressed. Got chicken fingers and etouffe and both were really outstanding. My wife really enjoyed her chicken sandwich and collard greens. Fun atmosphere as well and service was excellent. Will definitely go back!

Carrie O.

Yelp
Great sandwiches. Outrageous prices. Two chicken thigh sandwiches, fries and two drinks for $40 is ridiculous, and then to turn that tip screen around for a go? Plus, fries were ice cold. For $40 you couldn't make a fresh batch of fries?
google avatar

Brenton S.

Yelp
Hotboys has me feeling like a hotboy after a 5/5 lunch today! This place is the real dill! My highlights: simple menu, fantastic vibes and powerful chicken meals. You know how superhero comics struggle with scaling villains to make the next one better than the last? This place takes this concept, crushes it, and scales their chicken hot-ness perfectly. Great spice and flavor all around. The staff is laid back and they care about their chicken and customer service. Today, it was faster to sit in and eat than waiting in any drive-thru. I'm only mad that I waited this long to try it. WILL be back asap because I loved it. Easy 5/5. Thanks to the team for bringing this gym to the indy food scene!
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
The place was pretty busy but that was expected on a Friday. Our wait wasn't long at all. So the food....the chicken was pretty dry and bland. I wanted to like it so much though. The fries had a red dusting on them which I thght was seasoning salt but i think it was chili powder again I think. I don't understand why you'd put chili powder on fries. The service was great and tje people were nice.

Yelp
During our west coast road-trip, we stumbled upon the downtown Indianapolis place and it did not disappoint‍
google avatar

Briana C.

Yelp
I stopped by here randomly with a cousin and they did not disappoint. The music was great, service was fast, and I was a chicken so I got the basic spice level with the chicken but it was delish. I did like their sauce. They have a parking lot on the side of the building which is helpful in fountain square. I will be back!

Yelp
Perfect date night spot with my man. The wings, the Bonuts and the chill staff made it a great night. Such a vibe.

Yelp
We love Hotboys and stop in to the FS location frequently! It's a crowd pleaser, even my mom loves it! Love the tenders and guape fries! I love the hip hop feel when you walk in. The decor is fun and there's always something to look at!
google avatar

Jo W.

Yelp
Loved it!! I got a salad and fries with medium spice and it was perfect. The fries are seasoned & cooked perfectly to a crisp. Salad was massive & loaded with chicken. The owner is super nice and welcoming! They play good music and overall have such a good vibe going at the FS location. Will definitely be back soon!!!

Yelp
This was my first time trying this place and I'm so glad we did! I have to say - it might be my favorite new place for wings and fried chicken. We did carry out - and service was relatively fast. The inside decor is very interesting with all kinds of lights and decorations. We ended up with a few things for the family: the wings meal (you get about 5 wings) with greens, a 5 pack of chicken tenders and a few orders of fries. The wings meal was more than enough for one person, but not enough to share with someone if it's your only meal. I did them without the breading (naked) so it came with a dry rub. So tasty! I LOVE spicy foods (for real - the spicier the better). I did the medium+ which was perfect for me. It's pretty dang spicy - so if you don't like spice, get the lowest level possible. Even the mild+ had a small kick. Fries were really good and dusted with their seasoning. The tenders were huge. Sorry for the bad picture but wanted to share. There is half a tender in there because I had to try it! I'll definitely be coming back often!
google avatar

Destiny O.

Yelp
Took a long lunch with my sister and finally showed her my absolute favorite spot in fountain square. I ordered the tender sando meal with the southern flavor because I didn't really want my mouth burning and some fries to go with it. The sandwich was really as always and I'm pretty sure my sister has a new chicken spot. The service was amazing and we got our food pretty quick. We loved all the music that was playing and she loved all the decorations and cool things to look at. Definitely will take my other sister here so she can love it too!

Yelp
Yooooo!!! When I was 19 I dated a chick who was a manager at a store in the Circle Center mall. She was super cute and gave off "I go to youth group, but listen to Smashing Pumpkins and Wu-Tang when my parents aren't home" vibes! I thought I knew what I was getting into, but when I went to a party at her spot in Fountain Square, I WAS NOT READY!!! She was on some WELCOME TO THE WILDSIDE stuff! Between the psychedelic lighting, "incense", cosmic decor, and post "I kissed dating goodbye" wardrobe choices, I had a feeling I would both not forget AND forget much of what would transpire in the following phases of time! In a similar fashion, I had heard about HotBoys...saw the sign on Virginia Ave...I've had Nashville Hot Chicken IN Nashville...but I was NOT ready!!!! First of all, as soon as I walked in the door I had to pause to make sure I wasn't tripping. The organized chaos which is the decor along with the trippy colored LED ceiling and Sound Garden's "Black Hole Sun" playing through the speakers had me thinking I slipped into a variant timeline. It took me a second to realize, "I'm straight...this place is wild tho"! Lol! Cool cool! Then I ordered the Sami...figured sense it was my first time I'd keep it simple with the chicken sandwich and bev. I love heat, but I decided to go with the Medium to gauge how they define "hot"! Dominic, who was running things that day looked at me with a "I hope you know what you're getting into look" I'm sure he's given about every customer that's walked in the door and ordered anything Mild and above. When he brought it out there was a little extra sprinkle of that crimson dry rub on the chicken as if to give one last warning...the "F Around" level was about to intersect with "Find Out"! Imma just make it all the way plain! HotBoys chicken sami is THE BEST HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH in Indy AND Nashville that I've had!!!!! The chicken was perfectly fried! Just the right amount of breading and plenty of hot and juicy chicken. The heat level, was IMHO, spot on! I'm too old for paying for food I can't eat. It was hot enough that I could enjoy the flavor of the chicken and the house sauce that perfectly complimented the dry rub, while also giving me a nice afterglow of the heat on my lips! Pro-tip...If you're not sure about heat level, start lower than you think and then go up from there.

Yelp
Oh my! Oh my! This is the kind of spice that I would refer to as BOMB! Please note Medium isn't for the weak hearted, it is the actual cry your face out, clear your sinuses off and clear your head out kind of spice! I chose Medium spice and I so did NOT regret it. I ordered chicken tenders and the tenders itself were simple but the spice combined with the light sweetness of southwest was just apt. I totally fell in love with Hotboys! The decor itself is pretty eclectic and being a good weather day had all the cool vibes of fountain square. Parking wasn't an issue and that was such a plus in Foutain square. Hotboys reminded me of my spice and food level back home and I am a happy camper! P.S forgot to take a pic of tenders in my excitement

Yelp
I can see why they are World Famous! The chicken at Hotboys was soooo good! I had the training wheels and my husband had mild +, we both wish we would've kicked it up a notch but you never know when first trying a new hot chicken spot. Don't be afraid, they really do start out mild. The tenders are huge - entire chicken breasts basically. It was nearly $40 for our two meals, so maybe a little pricey. But you also pay for the awesome ambiance and a nice walk through Fountain Square. Parking on the street is free. Our food came out super quick and the employees were awesome! 5/5 - no doubt.

Yelp
Hotboys is fire every time. The food is insanely good (be careful on the spice level, they get insanely hot) and the vibes are immaculate. Their tenders and the tender sando are where it's at, and you have to have the fries with it. The inside of the restaurant is filled with really cool street art and unique fixtures that make it feel like you're anywhere but Indiana. Super fun 10/10

Yelp
If you're looking for a late night spot in the Indianapolis area this is it. A great choice. Great chicken tenders with so many levels of heat. The medium heat was not overpowering and we probably could go up a notch. The fries topped with chicken was really tasty. The chicken was tender, flavorful and moist. The owner was working the register and was friendly and helpful. Colored lights and lasers were going and music was booming creating a nice vibe with an eclectic mix of customers. There is indoor seating and out door seating. Would highly recommend and I will return on my next trip to Indy.

Yelp
I've been three times in the last two weeks and plan to be back again! Get the Guap fries! The cheese they put on the fries is . They always have some boozy concoction to try too! I've gotten their jello shots and a cotton candy milkshake!

Yelp
I do really like the food here - the vegan chicken sandwich option especially. It makes sense that they'd have a great plant-based option considering they hail from California. Very substantial and flavorful. My main beef, which doesn't make sense with the biz hailing from Cali, is their packaging situation. And I get things may have changed because of covid, but every order is made to-go style, whether you're eating there or not. This includes the styrofoam container, plastic utensils, all in a plastic bag. Broke my heart to see at least 10 customers like me while we were there, eat inside and promptly throw the plastic bag (and everything else) in the trash. Why is that bag necessary?? Just so wasteful and honestly weird. The playlist's music was also some of the most obscene lyrics I've ever heard in my life. And there were children there... I'm not a mom and their parents didn't make a fuss but it sure made me uncomfy. Food's good but I'll probably think again about coming back for these reasons.

Yelp
I am still in disbelief that the chicken sandwich I just had was not made of actual chicken. It was incredibly tender, flavorful, and spiced to perfection. I ordered it from this restaurant I stumbled upon while searching Yelp for a late lunch, thankfully Yelp knew I'd be looking for Vegan/Vegetarian options and highlighted the option. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they also offer vegan options, which made me decide to give it a try. As I parked my car, I was welcomed by a playlist of classic rock hits from the nineties, which set the tone for the restaurant's throwback and rock-inspired decor. During a lull in my midday, I had the opportunity to chat with one of the cousins who run the place, and they shared some interesting tidbits about the restaurant's history and how it ended up in Fountain Square. Their greeting and service were top-notch, making me feel at ease and valued as a customer. But let's talk about the food. This place is a must-visit for vegans and non-vegans alike. The vegan chicken sandwich was a masterpiece, with a perfect level of breading, tenderness (especially considering it was not made of meat), and just the right amount of spice. The only thing I would have wished for was more sauce, slaw, and pickles, but the taste was so addictive that I devoured the whole sandwich in one go. The fries that came as a side were also noteworthy, with a well-balanced seasoning. To top it off, I ordered an adult frosty to cool off from the heat of the sandwich, and it was a great complement to the meal. And as if all of this was not enough, the restaurant also boasts a full bar, making it a win-win-win-win situation. I highly recommend you give it a try!

Yelp
Noticed this joint when we went down to Fountain Square area of downtown Indy. It's right across Wildwood Market. My partner and I decided to check it out because there was a steady stream of people going in and out and we do love some hot chicken. They did some remodeling of the spot outside and inside .. it needed it. It was super festive inside which was fun and outside, they added more seating and I think even some fans and/or heating element for the winter months. The staff was super friendly which is always a plus. The chicken and coleslaw was yummy - they have 3 heat levels and I got mile with a hint of medium - I gotta say it definitively has serious kick! That's saying something because my partner and I love spicy food. We think this place is going to do good - good food and awesome friendly service is always a good combo for success!!
