World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort

I paid with rewards for only a couple nights, but had I paid $200+ per night (what the rate was around when I was staying likely due to Night of Lights), I might have asked for a refund after seeing the room which I’ve never done. Pretty worn out and honestly, not too clean for that price. Plus, they charge $12 a night for parking. Had it been closer to $100 a night, I would have found it to be okay. Bed and sheets were alright at least. To be fair, I only stayed here as a convenient place to see St. Augustine- so I did not use the golf facilities which is probably a large reason why many people stay here. Although cleanliness is the main thing I care about with a hotel room, I don’t want to be unfair as there are positives. The location is quite good with plenty around it, and the site is about 30 minutes or so from downtown St. Augustine. The main entrance area is quite nice, and the gift shop has reasonable prices. The staff were pleasant to talk to. Despite my problems with it, the room was a decent size and had a balcony. Overall, the rooms need to be revamped and cleaned better, but it could be worth it if you can get a lower rate and aren’t expecting a resort-level experience.

My recent stay at the World Golf Renaissance ST Augustine was, without exaggeration, one of my worst hotel experiences. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. The moment I walked into the room, I was appalled by the lack of cleanliness. The carpets were visibly dirty, the bathroom showed clear signs of neglect, and the overall impression was one of filth. It felt more like a low-budget motel than a hotel charging these rates. Beyond the hygiene issues, the bed was simply unbearable. It was saggy, lumpy, and made getting any restful sleep impossible. After a long day of travel, the least one expects is a clean and comfortable place to rest, and this hotel failed spectacularly on both counts. The lack of comfort was compounded by a complete failure to enforce any kind of quiet hours. Starting late in the evening and continuing well past midnight (around 1:30 AM), I was constantly woken up by neighboring guests who were shouting and loudly slamming doors.

I seldomly leave reviews for hotels, especially Marriotts. However, our experience here was so unbelievably unenjoyable that I had to say something We arrived on Friday, September 19th around 12pm. (We had put that on our reservation.) We were able to check in fine. Once we got into the room, though, we quickly realized that it was not fully cleaned. There were holes in the curtains. The walls were chipped. There was hair all over the bathroom. We called the front desk and they offered to come clean the room. We said that would be great and for us to call when we left to go out. We left, called the front desk to inform them, came back, and the room bathroom was still dirty. We were supposed to be going to a wedding event that night and needed to shower. We informed them and said someone should have come. We told them they didn’t. We ended up cleaning our bathroom because we needed to leave for the event. When we returned later that night, there was a large stack of new towels and washcloths on the counter. Between that linen was even more hair!! While there I also received an email with “charges” for the other person staying in the room with us. The woman at the desk stated they charge per day and that each person gets an email. The other person didn’t even receive an email We checked out on Sunday and I have two pending charges. Those charges DO NOT total up to what is on my receipt I received from the desk or via email Let’s not forget they charge to park (valet or self) but there is nothing but space and opportunity out there. The hotel sits at the end of the road, and the lot is mostly empty! The outside property is beautiful there but the inside is a no go.

All the staff — from the restaurant to the front desk to housekeeping had a friendly positive attitude! It makes such a difference and you feel it all over the hotel! The room was quiet and we loved everything about our stay. If you are hotel guest you can get a practice pass at Slammer & Squire golf course for $25 (which includes several practice areas and unlimited range balls). Great walking sidewalks — we will return!

This Resort (I use the term loosely) is extremely tired and filled with deferred maintenance. The common area is passable but clearly original. The bar staff were terrible with the exception of one bartender who was attentive and courteous on our last full day. I wish I had gotten her name, she deserves the praise. Front desk staff was nice and helpful. Food was mediocre at best and the breakfast buffet was barely palatable, eggs were reconstituted, haven't eaten them since girl scout camp!! On to the rooms! The rugs were dirty, like sticky dirty, never walked on them without my flip-flops. Beds were very uncomfortable, soft and hard at the same time, I literally have no explanation for it. Decor again original, with wallpaper seams coming apart. Now to the bathroom. Tub shower filthy and it was apparent that it was painted white because it was rough. Vanity top had chips in it. Tile floor was cracked in several places. The pool was nice, appeared clean.

Folks hotel has some issues ||Really nice and professional staff. But until they address these issues I would not recommend staying here. ||||The following is my note to the asst manager. Who was also very courteous and professional. ||||Candidly they did the right thing but… they have a crappy product… rooms are sub par. ||And maybe a health risk too. ||||Hi Jennifer, just to give you some feedback (and hopefully it is constructive and can be used to improve the hotel)||||First room (834) we were checked into Thu night had equipment left in the room and the cover off of the air handler – where work was still being done.||||Second room (832) we went to had a terrible odor – pneumonia like – we left as fast as possible.||||Third room (822) realize we have been traveling all week and it was around 8PM had multiple issues:||||Trash was not emptied from the previous guests.||||Trash was under the desk||||We showed photos to the front desk so they could ‘course correct’ house keeping. (I can send these to you and will post on our reviews when we get to them.)||||The next day we came back – room was cleaned…but guess what trash was still under the desk. Meaning no one checked from a supervisor and they did not clean/vacuum under the desk.||||We then noticed that the carpet next to the bed and adjacent to the sink area was soaked…this is Friday night.||||Also the bed post vertical riser has mold on it…so this problem has been there for a while.||||I let Brandon know at the front desk and he did credit the nights stay…he was professional and very nice to work with as was Melyssa (I think that is her name). In fact all of the staff we interacted with were very nice and courteous.||||Our experience indicates you have a real issue with maintenance, housekeeping and quality control.||||I was in town for business and a wedding – at the wedding we met other guests also staying at your hotel. They changed rooms twice. So clearly some issues and I realize you may have many extraneous factors limiting the ability to have better quality maintenance and housekeeping.||||So 3 out of 3 rooms to be bad – not a good measure and as a frequent business traveler not one that I would recommend.||||By they way folks they comped us one night. But not a good quality room. So until we learn that all is fixed we would not stay here

Aging property I'm a little surprised Marriott would put their name on. Stayed for 1 night as we were playing golf at S&S nearby and thankful we didn't stay more. Location if you're doing anything at WGV is great, but that's about it. The room felt like it was from the 90s and did not feel clean at all. We got in late so we just wanted to get to bed otherwise we would have tried to get another room. Bathroom smelled terrible and toilet had issues flushing. Hairs all over the floor and shower needs to be replaced entirely. Front desk staff was clueless when asking about if the hotel offered any shuttles to the courses nearby despite being a resort hotel. Bed in our room was also oddly close to the kitchenette and AC unit so I was lucky enough to have the sound of the AC and refrigerator turning on and off all night. That along with the crazy loud fountain in the lobby.. bring earplugs.

If you are here just for a convention, you probably wont realize how disgusting this hotel is. If you unfortunately need to send the night, you will know this place is filthy. My room was changed on my second night after cleaning crews came in and the room was still filthy. Stains on walls and bedside, a leash can with gross residue on the outside, holes and chips in the walls. The shower was so stained and you could tell they had painted the tub as a repair. When this was reported to staff, they sent a housekeeper up. I was leaving the room when the lady arrived who literally pushed her cart in front of the door and blocked me in. When I said hello she rolled her eyes and when I said excuse me so I could get arou d her cart, she didn't move it and huffed at me while using a house sponge on the front door. Im assuming that is how they "clean". Came back and stains and nasty is all still there. Once moved, I had no issues. Im happy I am here for business and not pleasure. Nothing pleasurable about the place.

The hotel and grounds are great! Just raking a walk around the lake us a treat. Caddys is great sports bar with good food and good service. Plenty to do nearby also. There a Buckees, Bass Pro, and Costco nearby.

3 stars is about right on this one. This hotel could use a refresh, it's older and feels it. Walking in it's actually very pretty with a huge lobby with restaurant/ bar and gift shop with a Starbucks inside ( delicious latte!) The hotel is a circle design with the lobby in the middle with it going up many floors. Once I went up to my room on the 7th floor, it gets a little hotter the higher you go and maybe humid? The room was ok, but again maybe a bit hotter, they did have a de- humidifier in the room going, which I appreciated. But everything just a lil dated and older. I stayed here for a work conference, they have a huge space for that. Also the work banquet dinner was really good, lol

Property is beautiful and kept well. Place is very big on events, as a couple , lots of folks and activities going on. Meaning your $12/day paid parking is way out there as the "parking" lots get full. Breakfast in house buffet was good but expensive over a few restaurants close by. Rooms need a major renovation they are old and getting more run down. Bathtub see picture. King room with balcony was ok but figured for price would be larger. Group stay or golfer ok. Couples to visit the area go elsewhere unless you like convention style resorts. Staff was friendly and helpful. Keith in the morning at Front Desk amazing.

Overall a solid place. Room was nice with a great view from our balcony. Lots of amenities for longer stays but comfortable for one night.

We had a fantastic stay here. It's very convenient off of the interstate and close to a Buccees and Costco. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've seen. The staff were all super nice. Clean room! Great lobby

We actually loved this stop and hotel. We were greeted by John at check in and check out at the doors-he's so kind! We checked in later in the evening and got ourselves ready for bed-to realize, at 9pm, our air conditioner did not work. The maintenance man was fairly prompt, and realized that during some kind is upgrade/maintenance they neglected to plug it back in. The towels were really nice as was the bathroom offerings. We wondered down to breakfast the next morning and ordered the buffets, including omelets and all kinds of other foods. It was $20 each but honestly worth it since coffee or other drinks were $4 each. Our server was also super sweet! As we were packing up, we did spot a worker smoking on a balcony from our room window-so that's a bummer but across the road from a Bucees!

I know I reviewed this hotel a year ago, but it was time for the same convention so of course I stayed in the same hotel. My previous review stands, but I do have some additions that I would like to make note of here... First off was the hostess at the front desk, Ally. She remembered me from the previous year, and was ever gracious in getting me my room and getting me set up for the weekend. Huge props to her for going beyond the usual call for this sort of thing! Second was my room. I was given a room on the second floor with a balcony. This was a balcony overlooking the pool to some extent, but because it was on the second floor there was an overhanging roofline that did something unfortunate. It turns out that the roofline acts as a funnel for second hand smoke that other folks staying at the hotel were creating on their balconies, so when I went out there all I could smell was their smoke, which was sad. While the balcony is not really big enough to actually utilize in any meaningful way, it would have been nice to leave the doors open in the evening and catch some fresh air before going to bed, but with the smoke this was just not possible. No fault of the hotel, mind you... sometimes residents are just jerks who don't think about the effects of their actions.

I got my reservation through Expedia. There was two options at different prices for a double room with balcony. One is 325sqft. It was about 50 cheaper than the other room. I chose the bigger room at 650 sqft, higher price and a sofa. We wanted that for room for our kids to study. I booked the larger more expensive room. When i get to the room, it is small, run down with a broken door on the furnace and no sofa. I go to the front desk and they tell me i need to sort it out with expedia. I contact expedia and they tell me that the hotel got my room wrong and they will call the hotel. I go to the front desk and the manager was there. She said that expedia has to sort it out. I asked her to answer the phone and showed the expedia rep trying to call her. He begged that she answer the phone but she refused. This was a saturday night and much pricier. I wanted to relax and enjoy the night. I wanted to walk around and enjoy the place. Instead i ended up arguing with the worst customer service in the US. My night was ruined. Eventually, after not being given any options, I asked them to downgrade my room or upgrade my room to the one I aid for or to comp me the night as it was ruined. Note that this was after over an hour of trying to sort it out. She said she cant downgrade because i agreed to a higher price. I told her i agreed to a different room. She said i could upgrade to the room i selected at a higher price. At that point i told her i now refuse to stay there. I left and went to the hilton instead where there is actually good customer service. Mistakes can happen, but its how you respond which shows good cs or not. When you refuse to admit your mistake then that is bad service, When you constantly lie to the customer, that is bad. When you refuse to speak to expedia, thats bad. When you refuse to fix the problem, thats bad. I would have understood it as a-mistake if they let me book the room at the proper rate. I would have understood the mistake if they moved me to the right room. I would have understood if they comped the ruined night. The worst option is forcing me to stay in the cheaper room at the price of the better room. The worst option is to charge me more after your mistake and your insulting behavior. By the way, the hotel is responsible to keep their Expedia listings up to date. If the hotel doesn't want Expedia customers, then it needs to stop using it. What happened here is false advertising and bait and switch. The fact that they don't care, just shows that their head is too big. I also called Marriott directly and they said they cant do much. I cancelled all my future Marriott plans!

I will start off with the staff at the hotel, who ere all very friendly and helpful. But for the price of this hotel I believe you can get a much better deal elsewhere. I booked a king room for a wedding 7 months in advance. When I arrived they did not have any king bed rooms available, so instead we got a room with 2 full size beds. Once in the room we saw that the water was $7 a bottle. The wallpaper in the room was beginning to separate in many areas of the room. The hotel itself is very loud, we could hear every door close due to the design of the interior and the door to the room having a 1" gal at the bottom. The breakfast bar is pretty basic, it's what every Best Western and Super 8 offer for free, except that here it is $20 per person. There is also a $12 a day parking fee added onto your bill whether you drive a car or not. The desk agent was not able to take this off my bill, but was able to give me a $36 refund for the 3 night stay to cover the parking fee since I didn't not bring a vehicle. Overall there isn't much to do in the area besides golf if you don't have a vehicle. The hotel is an hour away from downtown St. Augustine, they do offer a shuttle there (for a fee). There is no shuttle to the airport in Jacksonville anymore.

The Beds are horrible!!! If you deal with pain, don't stay here. I have never felt such hard beds.

The lobby bar is nice, good servers but not very educated about their products. When there is music in the lobby bar, enjoy it because it sounds terrible when resting or watching tv in room. Acoustics are terrible and front desk just says it ends at 9pm. Good it's early but have been traveling since sunup and just wanted a couple of drinks and dinner. Bar is too cold to dine as food will get cold no matter how warm you dress. Caddy Shack next door has better menu, knowledgeable and experienced bartenders and much more lively and comfy.

The hotel was very economic considering it was Labor Day weekend and was very aesthetically pleasing. I enjoyed the indoor garden and plants, very relaxing. The hotel rooms were pretty clean, with the exception of the carpet. I don't think that they deep clean them as often as they should. Unfortunately the service from the night crew was not the best. I called on two separate days and the front desk receptionist and the same girl responded, she was not the friendliest person and it took me about 45 minutes to get two flat sheets and two fitted, both times.

My wife and I plus two friends enjoyed the lobby bar while we waited for the musical entertainer. Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and helpful. He made sure we were enjoying ourselves and served our drinks and desserts. We had eaten dinner earlier next door and the Caddy Shack. The entertainer played a saxophone to his background music and at one point, walked through the tables of guests while playing his sax. The entertainment is only there on a Friday evening.

The World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine was a hotel that was way past its prime. In fact, I would say it was past its prime in the late 90s. The interior design and the room decor are straight out of Back to the Future with a lot of light wood tones and bright colors. The main lobby has a center atrium that goes all the way to the roof so its was well lit, but the carpet colors and the furniture made it feel like a time capsule. You access the rooms from a glass elevator bank on one of two corners of the lobby. Each floor looks down to the lobby so if you're a light sleeper or sensitive to sound, its best that you ask for a room further away from the elevator banks as the sound does travel up the floors. The room we were in was a golf course view which felt like a roadside Holiday Inn instead of a Renaissance Hotel. The bed was comfortable, but the door was missing sound isolation and open on the bottom so I question the safety of this hotel. A smart crook could have easily accessed this room with a tool to unlock the door, which is simply unacceptable in these days. There was a fee for parking, even though there were plenty of parking spots to accommodate not just the hotel but the Golf Hall of Fame and instead of asking us if we were parking a vehicle, they automatically charged us for self parking. I found that to be unacceptable and if we hadn't actually parked a car and we were parked in a spot that was in front of the next building, I would have been incredibly upset. Overall, I cannot World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine as a base for your visit to historic St. Augustine. The cost saving isn't worth the safety issues or the headaches of a hotel past its prime. You would be better off paying a little bit more and stay at the Renaissance St. Augustine in the historic district or any of those hotels around there.

Solid and full of amenities to please business or recreational travel. Dog friendly. Great breakfast. Large rooms. Great views. Frig and coffee in room. Aveda products. Great lobby area and walking areas nearby. It's a bit dated in style and some fabrics so I dropped a star. Staff at front desk had limited knowledge but bartender was great.

I was so upset but I'm going to come back and try it .. it's hard. New people... and things have changed.

We stayed one night to attend a friend's wedding. The hotel is just ok, very outdated. We are Marriott gold, but did not feel like we got any special treatment for our status. We checked in the day of the wedding, and as I was getting ready I realized the tub would not drain. I called to have it fixed but no one ever came up to fix it. My fiancé ended up fixing it for me! Overall, this property is very overpriced. We had to pay $12/night for parking and it's not like it's a gated lot... it's charged automatically to the guests. I felt like the value for what we spent was not worth it at all.

What a great stay we had at this beautiful, well-maintained property! While a few things in our room itself could be upgraded, it was impeccably clean and comfortable, and every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly & helpful. We highly recommend & we will definitely be back!

Our hotel stay was marred by a series of unfortunate events. The first attendant added a fee of $75 per night for a suite we did not request, and the room smelled of cigarette smoke and mold. Despite our complaints, the smell persisted, and we were told there were no other available rooms that day or the next. However, the next morning, Brandon, another attendant, was able to accommodate us in a different room and offered to waive the additional fees. He even offered us a discounted rate and offered to purchase a green tea mocha for my sinus issue that developed due to the smell in the previous room. Although the new room was an improvement, the air conditioning made a loud bang noise throughout the night. The television was horrible and kept cutting out. The breakfast at the restaurant was $40 per person for a simple buffet that is free at other hotels. The pool table is old and warped. There are no good restaurants in the immediate area. On checkout day, the first attendant was back. She added the original fees back to the bill and increased the price. When we requested a manager, the first attendant claimed there was no manager available. After insisting, the manager was called and miraculously appeared. The manager agreed to remove the fees, and we completed the checkout process. When we said we would not return, the manager laughed and said, "okay!"

If you're coming to Saint Augustine for vacation, I highly recommend this hotel. There is a young gentleman he goes by the name of Jay. He helped us with a very nice discount and we appreciate it so much when you get here ask for Jay he will hook you up.

Very cool hotel for sure, it felt very retro and unique and I loved the atmosphere! Very cool decorations and skylights, and I loved the view from the elevators. The lobby was beautiful with tons of plants and two indoor fountains, it really made me want to stay longer. The game room left much to be desired, but considering most hotels don't have them, it was great. The pool was clean and felt good, the hot tub too, and they had fresh towels ready for you upon getting out. The plants and landscaping was unique and boasted some beautiful variegated moondrop plants. You can walk to the Caddyshack restaurant, but there is also an Italian restaurant inside the hotel: both were open and seemed to be very popular and served good food. (Do expect them to be expensive however) The balcony was very nice and very peaceful, and the beautiful lake behind it was a nice view for sure. Our room was near an elevator and was quiet despite that fact. They had live music in the lobby and it was both classy and fun, they played a large variety of music and it was thoroughly enjoyable. It definitely set a positive atmosphere! My one complaint: As an advocate for gun ownership, this hotel is "gun free" which only serves to make its guests less safe. Having "no firearms" signs is a guaranteed way to give criminals an advantage in the event of some trouble. Most mass shootings happen in locations with a "gun free zone" policy.

We had a beautiful time staying at the World Golf Village! The lobby and the facilities were elegantly designed and the gym, sauna, and pool area were so much fun! Our room was felt clean and refreshing, the housekeeping team had did an amazing job! The breakfast buffet was delicious and had many nutritious options available, and the service was incredible. The smiles and joy of the host, waitress and kitchen team were contagious. John and the crew outside were also so genuine, friendly and kind. We felt so welcomed after a long flight when they greeted us, assessed what we needed and offered to help in any way that they could. I highly recommend booking the WGV for your next adventure or event!

Supposed to stay here Friday through Monday, golfing a couple courses Saturday and Sunday. Had read some really bad reviews so was kinda worried. We got here, greeted by a nice young man, helping us with our luggage. The hotel is a little older, but very clean, staff was friendly and attentive. Room was great, only complaint was it seemed like the carpet was a little musty. The shower had Aveda body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. It smelled amazing. The buffet breakfast was top notch, highly recommend. Played 18 holes on Sunday, Tropical Storm Debby moved in so we decided to leave Sunday afternoon to avoid the rain. Advised the front desk and they refunded our Sunday night stay. Classy move. We will definitely be back.

Comfy beds, cool pool and hot jacuzzi. Great golf right next door and the golf museum. Staff super friendly.

What an amazing property under the Marriott umbrella. The hotel is beautiful and nestled off the beaten path on a golf course. Inside is a mini wonderland with lights, trickling water and decorations. Brandon checked me in and he was extremely friendly and even helped me with the wifi on my phone. The room had two balconies, a separate bedroom and a mini bar area with a fridge. They have a working hot tub, ping pong table, cornhole and a pool table. We used them all. The breakfast in the morning was amazing, lots of fruit and omelettes and waffles to order. This is only 20 minutes, in traffic, to the lights in old town and they allow pets for a $150.00 fee. Sorry Dakota you cant come with me. This is my 3rd visit here. I am hotel picky and this was a worry free, relaxing getaway. I will stay here again.

We stayed here a couple of nights for my wife's work while riding out Hurricane Dorian. The resort which is situated within the World Golf Village is surrounded with restaurants, spa, two golf courses, the World Golf Hall of Fame, PGA Tour Golf Academy, and an IMAX theater. Our room had a musty smell when you first walk in, but other than it, it's pretty clean. Friendly service at the front desk. We didn't have a positive experience with their restaurant dining though. The dinner service our first night was slow. The next day, I went down at 9:30 AM and placed my to-go order of Fried Green Tomato BLT for a pick up at noon. My order was lost and received my food over an hour later. My BLT had regular tomatoes instead of fried green tomatoes. I wanted to try a BLT with fried green tomatoes!!!!!!! Note: World Golf Village Renaissance St Augustine Resort welcomes two pets of any size. Both dogs and cats are allowed. 2.5 stars rounded up

I was a little nervous with the poor reviews with what I'd be walking into but hoped that Marriott would pull through. For once, I'm glad I didn't overly obsess over poor yelp reviews. This place is nice. The lobby is beautiful and reminded me of a cruise ship actually. There is plenty of parking, which you'll pay $7 + tax per night for but I don't find that excessive considering you're on massive grounds that any avid golfer would love. My room was clean. It smelled a little musty when I first walked in but was fine after the air circulated for a while. The a/c was cold but never seemed to allow me to get it really as cold as I wanted it. The bathroom was modern and well kept. I usually expect some sort of tempurpedic bed at Marriott hotels but this was just a standard mattress. Not super comfortable but not uncomfortable either. The on-site bar is open until midnight. They have a restaurant as well that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast buffet is around $20 per person...honestly a little pricey for what is offered so I chose not to try other meals there. All in all, I'd definitely stay there again. They offer great government rates too!

I stayed here last weekend for a 1-night stay while in town and my experience here wasn't bad at all, but there's a few things I need to make note of... The staff here is very friendly and accommodating which was great! My king room was spacious, comfortable, and clean for the most part, but I found that after taking a shower and walking through the room, there were debris on my feet. Gross! :o( I don't know when the last time was that my room had been vacuumed but it seems it could not have possibly been that day. They have a breakfast buffet with an omelet station which was really nice and rare in times of Covid. Parking here is frustrating. I had to park what felt like a mile away, and self parking is not free. I didn't realize when booking this hotel just how far it is from all of the major attractions and downtown area of St. Augustine. I had read that it was 25-30 minutes away from the action of St. Augustine, but the drive getting to this hotel felt like forever, especially at 10pm at night. Word to the wise, if you're primarily interested in spending the majority of your time around St. Augustine's downtown/historic district, then this place may not be the best option for you.

Oustanding from start to finish. From the moment we drove onto the property you could see it was secluded and beautiful. The front office staff were beyond friendly and immediately offered us cold bottles of water while we checked in. The atrium is gorgeous with plants and light and hanging artwork. There is also a Starbucks in the lobby - yay! We were able to lounge in the pool and the jacuzzi that evening and just take in the lush greenery. Beautiful relaxing evening I loved getting up early to use the workout room and then went for a walk around the stunningly relaxing lake. Unfortunately one person in our party became ill and we had to seek out medical care. Brandon, at the front desk, immediately ran to get me a bag of ice and was so accomodating. Such a kind and genuine person and so professional. He really was the topping on the cake of a wonderful stay. Although I had to leave early, I cannot wait to come back one day! PS: The toiletries used at this property (AVEDA) were beyond wonderful. I brought them home and have already ordered the same Aveda Rosemary Tea shampoo. Just one more happy reminder of a wonderful stay in the World Golf Village Renaissance St Augustine!

Off the beaten path a little, unless you enjoy golf. If so, they seem to have a great golf course! Definitely plenty of room to go for a nice walk too. The hotel is located within a golf community, so a lot of locals were exercising along the sidewalks. There is a restaurant literally in the same area as the parking lot for the hotel. So that's super convenient. The hotel lobby was clean, open and airy. They have a Starbucks inside the hotel. They also have a full bar. The room was clean, my view of the roof wasn't so great. They put me across from the elevator, so I could hear kids running in and out. Next time I think I may request a room away from the elevator. I also noticed that there is a glare from under the door while walking towards the room. A glare as in.... you can see a persons reflection. So I was careful not to come out of the shower to the room for my clothing. Lol I even propped the closet door open to try and help. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom toilet area did smell a bit like old urine which made me gag. I was there for one night. There is a wet bar with a refrigerator in the room. The hotel is also close to Bucee's which is a huge gas station, home goods, gifts and food item either cooked to order or grab bag. All in all the hotel did the trick for a place to stay.

This place was so dirty. The remote control was so sticky even though it came in some open plastic to give the illusion they are sanitizing. The carpet... I don't have words. It was sticky with dirt stains all over. My toddlers feet were black from the first 5 minutes of running around. The vents were filthy and the bathroom looked like a rest stop and smelled of old cigarettes and stale perfume. We asked if there was room service but there were no menus. When we did order food it was inedible. Everything tasted like it came from the Publix frozen food section. We left and took a good look around cuz Never Again.

Not worth the price! The landscape was pretty but not much to offer except for the golf. The bed was smaller than I am used to the other resorts and the pillows felt soft but flattened under my head immediately. No microwave oven in the room. Room service was only during mealtime and had to venture out to look for food for a late lunch. No other seating options available in the room except for the office chair.

I stayed here for my companies leadership retreat. I'm not a golfer but the place is pretty cool. Staff is very friendly and eager to please. The lobby is beautiful with plenty of space to set up and work. There are waterfalls and little streams in the lobby next to the bar and restaurant. The ambiance is very relaxing. The restaurant was nice and I really loved the food. Bartenders were a bit slow but drinks good. My room was really the only problem. It never really got cool. Even though I set the temp on 60 it felt like 70. The desk area I noticed was dusty under the lamp and there were some areas that could be updated. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. Over all for a 3 day work event it was enjoyable.

We have stayed at this resort a few times now for conferences and every time we've been here has been a great experience. Check-in was an easy experience since we are able to do it all via the phone app, but we still had to stop by the front desk to get a key because the digital key did not come to the phone and never did work for us. Rooms are spacious and has plenty of storage and a good sized mini-fridge to hold plenty of food and drinks for our stay. Our beds were not the most comfortable, and the television had lines going up and down the picture some of the times, seems like maybe it's about to go out, but neither of those deterred from the comfort of our overall stay. Really appreciate the speedy elevators here, some hotel elevators seem so slow, or only one works, but not here, all work and all fast. Check-out on the phone app was a breeze as well and had no issues there. Highly recommend the stay here if you are ever in the area.

I purchased a three day, stay and play package. Well, where to begin. The inside of the hotel is nice enough, pretty fountains and a nice bar. Nice breakfast restaurant that had good food and service. Well, that ends the good stuff. The rest: Parking can be a shit show. When I asked the fella at the front desk about practice facilities, he pointed in the direction of the course and mentioned they close at 6:00. They don't, of course. When I asked the fella at the front desk the best way to get to the first course, he instructed me to gear up and walk to the course. Now, it's about a 1/4 mile walk, which doesn't sound bad, until you figure in that I'm from Wisconsin, hung over, basically haven't moved in 16 months and it's 93 degrees with infinity humidity. I asked if there is a shuttle. Fella said "No sir, sorry, COVID." There's a shuttle. Bout every 30 minutes or so unless you call, then it's RFN. I called room service, no answer. Called the front desk to ask about room service, no answer. Went down to the front desk to ask the fella. "Sorry sir, restaurant is closed, COVID." Today I see room service delivered as I was going down to pick up my grub hub. Yesterday evening, my TV flaked out. No signal. Called the front desk, no answer. Well, might be too hammered to properly yell at them so I go down this morning, explain the situation, I've jiggled things, unplugged and replugged things and it's still not working. I have another round of golf to play so can you please have it fixed for my return. Fella says "No problem sir." Get back some 5 hours later, TV still at no signal. Call the front desk, no answer. Go down to the front desk and commence yell protocol. Explain that I'm going to the Hall of Fame (pretty cool), please have it fixed for my return. Fella says "Yes sir, absolutely." Go bomb around the HOF for a few hours, come back, TV still broken. Call the front desk, no answer. Oh boy it's now time to lose ones patience. I go down to the front desk, make a scene, goddamn TV is now fixed. The golf courses are fantastic, they are picturesque, fair and consistent greens, fairways and bunkers. Great staff at the courses. But this hotel is among one of the worst places I've ever stayed because of the service.

very tired rooms. but let's start with the positive. The staff is great, the area & the hotel grounds are beautiful. it's very convenient to work or golf in the area. the negative... the rooms are in desperate need of a deep cleaning, a maintenance overhaul, or really a full renovation. The AC vents are so filthy it's Unbelievable. The water doesn't drain in the sinks & some showers, Sewer smell throughout the vents, mildew in the showers, paint peeling & water damage everywhere. The beds have indentations in them & are very uncontrollable, the pillows have a smell. The rooms smell so old, like mildew & are very humid. I can deal with a lot of this, but it's the AC vents that I cannot deal with. When I stay here, I have a sore throat most of the time. the frustration here is the hotel is always packed & often sold out. I Have seen the rooms go from dated to just gross in the past year. skip this property if you value your health.

This is a beautiful resort. Here at the conference center for a realtor event. It is really cold so will need to go back to my car for my sweater. There is plenty of parking. Gorgeous setup.

Horrible customer service. Did not get the guaranteed 2 bed ADA room and was overcharged as well. I followed up with Theresa Polleschultz who was managing at the time, and Brandon Wynes who is the front desk manager. Both promised me I'd be credited back for incorrect charges like parking and that they'd do something to resolve the wrong room plus I even emailed both the details to no avail. When I followed up again with Brandon along with the email thread, he said he didn't recall anything and asked what the issue was about -unreal. Still with another reply I have no answers. Not only won't I be staying there again, I'll be sure my 3 local orgnizations pull support as well. As a disabled person ( not to mention lifetime Platinum member) I need my guaranteed room type to get around easily and I have contacted Marriott Corporate as well since it was a guarantee. I am disputing with the credit card company and I plan to fil a complaint with the state next. Warning to all ada, wheelchair, and accessibility customers out there!

A very beautiful resort, very clean and rooms are pretty spacious. There is a pool, a game room and a playground on site which is nice if you have kids. There is also a hot tub but it was broken during our entire stay. There is a CaddyShack restaurant within walking distance. We were disappointed with the lack of retail establishments. Everything in the vicinity was out of business and shut down.

Without a doubt the worst hotel experience of my long life. It is obvious that the property is ten plus years out of date and that is bad enough but the management is so poorly done it almost feels like it is on purpose. They know the physical property is not good but they try to make up for that with terrible service. I was there 4 nights, only once was food service available other than room service which was brought in a brown paper bag with plastic utensils. The menu is extremely limited and after eating cheeseburgers for several days that were not very good I ordered their $38 steak and only was able to eat half of it before the plastic fork and knife broke. Customer service is non existent, phones ring without an answer, the little store is only open from 6am to 1pm otherwise you have to drive several miles to find food other than the room service mentioned. But they don't care. They are charging for a luxury hotel but providing an D property with F service. When I asked for the manager I got words under the breath and a shaking head but no manager ever appeared. It has been ten days and I am yet to receive a bill or statement although they have collected more than $1200 from my CC. I posted a long review and after 10 days they posted a three sentence portion and left out what would be meaningful to someone checking. The room was dirty, the a/c so loud it was hard to sleep, bad lighting in the bath but probably on purpose to hide the peeling wallpaper and dirty fixtures, no comfortable chair as shown in the web photos but a hard office chair, 6oz plastic cups for any drink you might serve, advertised as a mini kitchen but no micro-wave just a bar fridge and dirty sink. No ice on the 4th floor, had to wander all over the hotel to find although the front desk when they finally answered after 20 rings said they had ice at the concession area on each floor.NO. Country flags at entrance tattered, gutter water gushing onto entrance sidewalk, they tell me they charge 12 for self open lot parking but winked at me on check in and said they would comp. The breakfast food at store in place of a restaurant which did not open until my morning of checkout has stale pastries and the strangest bread for a non descriptive egg and cheese breakfast sandwich I have ever tried to eat but just threw away and went hungry. I can not find one redeeming quality or occurrence of the property or the service except the bar staff was always friendly and helpful when they were open providing me with dinner recommendations off site. My interaction however with the rest of the staff was not pleasant or helpful. All of this could have been avoided if we were dealing with honest people but we are not. Had I known that a 300 room luxury hotel/resort property would only have one restaurant that was not open I would have gone elsewhere. There room and property descriptions on their web site is deceiving to the condition and accommodations. I was traveling alone so needed and expected services that I would of course gladly pay for but none were provided. The property is a destination so it is a 2 mile drive just to leave the property to get to a road where you can find services. Avoid this hotel.

Thank goodness Cathy Howell was working the front desk during the Florida State robotics tournament! She provided excellent customer service with a smile and an even temperament although confusion was all around us with 500 students running around. Every request was met promptly. Other staff did a phenomenal job of keeping restrooms stocked and clean. Food for volunteers was hot and refilled. Over All customer service helped move our tournament into the successes Zone. I look forward to spending my leisure time here at the resort just because of my experience here today

A great place and so beautiful to top it off!!! We were on the 5th floor over looking the golf course and the view was outstanding! I sincerely recommend it to all of you thinking about staying there.

This hotel is wonderful. Every employee we interacted with was professional and caring especially Jude and Brandon. I made reservations four months ago with Interval World for the Royal Floridian Hotel (a Spinniker Hotel) in Ormond Beach (Daytona Beach) for an ADA Handicapped room. I followed up with phone calls every few weeks and was assured by both companies that we had a handicapped room. When we arrived, we were given a "small studio" that was not in any way ADA compliant. My husband's power wheelchair did not fit through the bathroom door so we were unable to use the room and Spinniker said there were no other rooms to offer. We called Interval World and were told they could not help us because their computers were down until Monday. This was 7:00pm Saturday. Other hotels in Daytona were full due to an event. It was apparent that we would be sleeping in the lobby at the Royal Floridian and neither they nor Interval World offered any help. I started calling hotels and found the World Golf Village Renaissance (Marriott), an hour away, and called them nearly in tears because no one would help us. Jude answered the hotel phone about 8:30pm and was so kind. She reassured me that they had a handicapped room and would hold it for us. She was a breath of fresh air and so reassuring. When we arrived the valet (did not get his name) was so attentive and very helpful and took us to the front desk and Brandon just made everything so easy. We felt like family. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, spotless, and has every convenience. We are here for a week...not where we planned to be but so much better than the other hotel. Marriott, you know how to hire great employees and you really know how to treat people well. We highly recommend this hotel! You can always count on Marriott!

This hotel is located in the World Golf Village just if I-95. It has a nine story atrium lobby and overlooks the world golf Village. if you are playing golf on one of the two courses, it's a great place to stay. The rooms are small, however, they are very well furnished with very comfortable bed and they have a sink and refrigerator. The breakfast buffet is a little pricey at $16.95. Other items are priced so ultimately it is better to get the buffet for the same price. A better option is to walk next-door to golf clubhouse for the Slammer and Squire golf course where you can get a moderately priced and good breakfast. Service is very friendly, keeping up with the Marriott standard.

ABSOLUTELY! Best staffing we've ever seen! We stayed here for 2 months while our home was being built/finished. Jenny & Jay the front desk managers gave us a wonderful extended stay Rate ( call and ask for one of them directly, the staff at the 800 number did not offer me the rate, we almost ended up at the "other" major hotel chain so for extended stay definitely ask for Jenny or Jay on site at the hotel) Then there is the fact that they are pet friendly and 99% of the staff was amazing with our furry babies from John the extremely helpful bellman to Jody the absolutely wonderful and professional concierge! We love that they have a program there for persons with learning disabilities and hire and train a LOT more than any other company that I've seen. Andrew, Evan DeMonte, Katelyn just to name a few ( I apologize for any of you I missed) they were all so sweet and VERY appreciative of any task I asked of them and they would just light up when they received a tip ( please don't forget to tip your service people) Then there was the restaurant! WOW is all I can say about the waitress staff there!! Octavia was the first I met then Yara & Is Landa. They are so lucky to have such wonderful and hard working staff. The buffet is absolutely wonderful. The BEST French Toast I've ever had. Always a great selection of fresh fruit available. And were very patient during the week putting together my husband's order to go as he was working during the week up in the room. I want to be sure to mention Lacy and Aly at the front desk (there were others too I'm so sorry my chemo brain is not helping me remember. But please know we are soooo great full for the wonderful services you gave us when we were staying) So yes. We are definitely recommending this specific hotel/location. Conveniently located off 95, close to the outlets, World Golf Hall of fame, IMAX theater. I'm hoping the shops there re-open again under some better management. There is no reason the shopping there should not be hopping. If the outlets close down I would hope those stores FULL up the World Golf Village shops. Oh and the Caddy Shack restaurant is wonderful also along with dinner and drinks at the Hotel restaurant.

I personally really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. There is a Starbucks in the lobby which is a huge plus! This hotel has a whole lot of property and it is in a very nice part of town. I will say the pool was rather small for the size of the hotel, you would expect a larger pool. Our room was very clean and beautiful. The tv offers Netflix/Hulu but you need to enter your own login. Also, there is no WiFi that is free, you have to pay for it. I would also like to mention that the majority of guests were older (which is not a bad thing just a fact). The restaurant in the hotel I did not eat at but it is an Italian place and there was never a lot of people there. Overall, I would recommend as a nice quiet place to stay.

Truly an embarrassment to the Marriott family... First was check-in...it was over 30 minutes in the elite line. Several available employees but no one to open additional agent stands. Even though we did mobile check in the room and key were not available at 8pm. The agent, a manager named Christian was rude and dismissive. Finally received our room and went up...only one elevator works on south side so be patient. Made it in and it smelled like mildew. What's worse, when you flush the toilet in 335 it fountains up through the sink at the wet bar and the entire room smells like sewage. Back down stairs to see Christian...when I mentioned I should call corporate, he laughed and said "I wish you would." Finally in new room which was slightly less disgusting. Stains on walls and drapes, soiled carpet...day two long black hair inside bath towel The bar here is a joke too....no service. Just stay away...
