I discovered World Art on a First Thursday walk around Cape Town’s galleries. The World Art gallery stands out for me as it offers a great selection of quality art, and Charl, the owner, is both professional and warmly welcoming. Bough three pieces here. A place not to be missed — highly recommended!

Walked in on a quiet weekday, they did not even bother to greet me.

We were walking in the area and came across this gallery. The artwork that was displayed was quite captivating. I would visit the studio again in the future.

For over 20 years Charl has managed to consistently provide a space and a view that keeps me walking in on a Saturday.

I posted an item for sale to which I received a response from Gerhard of World Art. He informs me the company is wanting to purchase the item for their interns. He gives me a time of 11am the following day to make contact. We agree to communicate on Whatsapp. Next day I send a message, no response. Another message gets no response, although I can see it was received and read. Then all of a sudden his profile disappears. I eventually get hold of his colleague later & only then does he reply giving me a story about how he did not have his phone with him and how he will call me. Well, he never did. Meanwhile I wasted most of the day & lost out on two prospective buyers thanks to him. Now I'm sitting with an unsold item and no further response to it. And on top of this, his colleague tells me he is a CEO. One would think a CEO would treat people better and be more considerate.
