TORONTO CITY GUIDE

"Writers Room is a reimagined interpretation of the revered rooftop bar's 50 years storied past, paying homage to the history of literary legends who shared moments in the space. Thoughtfully handcrafted libations awaken the palate for a modern cocktail experience that challenges the possibilities of flavour, aroma, and presentation. Writers Room cocktails are novel and composed of classic, approachable, and spirit-forward flavour profiles that pair harmoniously with shareable plates featuring familiar and crave-worthy fare."

It was my first time at the Writers Room with my best friend to celebrate my birthday and wow!! Firstly, the view was amazing! I can’t imagine how it would be on a nice, sunny day (we’ll have to come back during summer). But not only that, the service was wonderful. I didn’t get her name, but the hostess helped us with our coats and she was really nice. Then we have our server, Sidney, and she was incredible!! She was never intrusive, but instead knew when to check up on us and was very nice to talk to. Truly the best! Thank you, Sidney!! I forgot to snap a photo of our drinks but I highly recommend the Blushing Prologue Frosé! It’s a 10/10 but be warned, a little strong (but definitely not a complaint). We will definitely be back!

I visited the Writers Room Bar at Park Hyatt and absolutely loved the experience. The espresso martini was rich, strong, and perfectly balanced. The dessert had the ideal harmony of sweet and sour flavors, very refined and delicious. I also enjoyed the small touches like the popcorn, which made the experience both elegant and cozy. The atmosphere is calm, stylish, and relaxing, with a beautiful view and a refined lobby vibe. It’s the perfect spot if you want to enjoy quality drinks and dessert in a sophisticated yet peaceful setting.

What a fantastic spot! I honestly didn’t expect the food to be this good for a cocktail bar. But every bite surprised me. The corn ribs were addictive, the shrimp cocktail was fresh, lamb ribs fall-off-the-bone tender and that pineapple rum cake was the perfect sweet ending. The cocktails were top-notch... creative, balanced and beautifully presented. Service was quick, friendly, and super attentive without ever feeling rushed. It’s one of those places that gets everything right — food, drinks, and vibes. Can’t wait to go back!

This chic yet classic bar is located on the 17th floor of the Park Hyatt Toronto, and serves one of the best bar food and drinks in the city. The corn ribs, smash burger & fries, and dill pickle popcorn were all outstanding, while the service was attentive and approachable. Lastly, the views of UofT and Queen's Park can't be beat! I would highly recommend this bar to anyone in the city looking for a drink.

This bar has an absolutely stunning view of the city 😍 it’s worth going just for that alone. The cocktails are excellent and the beef tartare was very flavorful and definitely worth trying!!! The only downside is that the staff wasn’t very friendly, but overall it’s still a great spot for a special evening in Toronto😍

Such creative and delectable cocktails! The views are incredible. I can't believe I've lived in the neighbourhood for several years without thinking of visiting - I'll definitely be back many more time. Obligatory photo included:

Been here 3 times so far and it’s becoming one of my chill favourite spots - Love the ambiance! The food is pretty decent. My favourite dessert is the White chocolate pot de creme. So good! 🤌

The writers room bar had some hits and some miss but the overall ambience and the friendly staff made this place a worthwhile visit! Hits of the night: - very iced latte martini: light, creamy and sweet, taste like an alcoholic ice capp - oysters: fresh and sweet - grilled calamari: ⭐️ of the night , perfectly tender and a wonderful grilled taste Miss of the night: - korean fried chicken: this tasted more like sesame chicken , not bad but not good overall mediocre - beef tartare: wayyy too salty, needed some fried nori chips to balance out the salt
