Writers Room Bar

The bar was on the 17th floor of the Park Hyatt. We had the holiday special - high tea for $95 per person. The price included two teas each which was nice. The plates were well done and delicious. The view of the city was spectacular!

What a fantastic spot! I honestly didn’t expect the food to be this good for a cocktail bar. But every bite surprised me. The corn ribs were addictive, the shrimp cocktail was fresh, lamb ribs fall-off-the-bone tender and that pineapple rum cake was the perfect sweet ending. The cocktails were top-notch... creative, balanced and beautifully presented. Service was quick, friendly, and super attentive without ever feeling rushed. It’s one of those places that gets everything right — food, drinks, and vibes. Can’t wait to go back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Toronto Icon That Never Misses The Writers’ Room at the Park Hyatt Toronto is, without question, my favourite place in the city—and one of Toronto’s most iconic experiences. Perched on the 17th floor of the Park Hyatt at 4 Avenue Road, right at Avenue & Bloor in the heart of Yorkville, it offers a perfect blend of old-school glamour, literary history, and elevated modern luxury. From the moment you step out of the elevator, you’re met with panoramic views of the Toronto skyline—especially magical at sunset or after dark when the city lights come alive. The atmosphere is intimate, sophisticated, and effortlessly cool, attracting writers, artists, creatives, and discerning locals who appreciate timeless elegance. The bar service is exceptional. The cocktail menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring both classic and inventive options crafted with precision. Whether you’re sipping a perfectly balanced martini, a rich old fashioned, or one of their seasonal signature cocktails, every drink feels intentional and refined. The wine and spirits selection is equally impressive, making it an ideal place for both casual drinks and celebratory evenings. What truly sets the Writers’ Room apart is its soul. This space has hosted legends—Margaret Atwood, Leonard Cohen, and generations of thinkers—and you can feel that creative energy in the room. It was my first time at the Writers Room with my best friend to celebrate my birthday and wow!! Firstly, the view was amazing! I can’t imagine how it would be on a nice, sunny day (we’ll have to come back during summer). But not only that, the service was wonderful. I didn’t get her name, but the hostess helped us with our coats and she was really nice. Then we have our server, Sidney, and she was incredible!! She was never intrusive, but instead knew when to check up on us and was very nice to talk to. Truly the best! Thank you, Sidney!! I forgot to snap a photo of our drinks but I highly recommend the Blushing Prologue Frosé! It’s a 10/10 but be warned, a little strong (but definitely not a complaint). We will definitely be back!

I visited the Writers Room Bar at Park Hyatt and absolutely loved the experience. The espresso martini was rich, strong, and perfectly balanced. The dessert had the ideal harmony of sweet and sour flavors, very refined and delicious. I also enjoyed the small touches like the popcorn, which made the experience both elegant and cozy. The atmosphere is calm, stylish, and relaxing, with a beautiful view and a refined lobby vibe. It’s the perfect spot if you want to enjoy quality drinks and dessert in a sophisticated yet peaceful setting.

As much as I wanted to love this place, paying $60 for a “wagyu” burger the size of a slider is a complete rip-off. The $26 truffle fries were also disappointing — the truffle flavor was only on the very top, and the fries didn’t taste fresh-cut but rather frozen and quickly dumped into hot oil. I’ve honestly had better fries at fast-food restaurants. Dishes labeled as “large plates” were actually very small and extremely overpriced for what you get. I’d maybe recommend coming here for drinks only, but definitely not for the food. The atmosphere is good overall, but the food is not worth it.

Had a wonderful time at Writer’s Room inside the Hyatt. We stopped in for a few drinks and were really impressed by the great cocktails—well crafted and delicious. The patio was a highlight, offering a beautiful city view and a relaxed, upscale atmosphere. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the evening. Would definitely come back.

Came for drinks on a Thursday evening. We had reservations. Great views of downtown and the CN Tower. Service was great and the popcorn was a pleasant surprise. Staff was able to answer questions and make recommendations about the drinks. Great place to spend an evening or just have a drink.
