Very nice, comfortable, and cozy cabins in Asheville. Enjoyed a nice team retreat on property with some colleagues and the staff/owners were really nice. We each had our own cabin, which I would say is nice and comfortable for a solo traveler, a couple, or possibly a family of 3 (as there was a nice small couch along with queen size bed). They included nice amenities like a fridge, white noise machine, record player, and extra blankets. We used the fire pit space a few nights and it's a beautiful outdoor space. If you want to unplug a bit but still not be too far from Asheville restaurants and other spots, this is a nice place to stay. We received great customer service and I felt welcomed!

I'd driven by Wrong Way several times and always thought about how cool it would be to stay in the A-frame cabins. We finally had the chance to visit Asheville again and stay at Wrong Way for a few nights in December and it was perfect. It was nice to be a little off the beaten path but still a quick drive away from the shops on Haywood Road, the River Arts District, and all that downtown has to offer. The Canteen had great drink and snack options. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The accommodations were cozy and we had a great time listening to the records and playing the games provided in each cabin. We look forward to coming back and bringing friends with us next time.

Google
Great place for a team retreat. We had our work retreat at the Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins, and we all had our own individual A-Frame Cabins for lodging. The cabins are very cozy and loved that there was no TV for distractions. They did, however, had vinyl records and a record player which was nice and unique. The little store was great for coffee and miscellaneous items. The Conference room we used was cozy and, in the evenings, we were able to relax by the outdoor fire pit. The staff were incredibly gracious and hospitable. We had a fantastic time and were able to do some team building as well. Highly recommend!!

We had the most wonderful stay here. The cabins are adorable and super clean, and right by the river. Great park across the street with walking/ jogging trails, plus dog friendly. Close to Biltmore Village. We stayed on New Year’s Eve and could see the fireworks from our balcony. The staff was amazing also (plus we loved meeting Trixie, their cute pup). Highly recommend staying here!

Google
Perfect place for an unpretentious Asheville getaway! We loved being close to the Biltmore and Downtown Asheville but also having an alternative to a traditional hotel, and a separate seating area. We laughed over the record collection in our room (Lawrence Welk?!?) but also found some cool ones in our stack to enjoy. So much better than a TV!

The cabins are adorable! My daughter and I stayed in a cabin and it was comfy, cozy, warm, clean, and very convenient to the Biltmore Estate. The rooms come with games and hammocks for when the weather is nice, and small balconies. The staff were friendly. We had coffee at the Canteen and it was delicious, and the staff were super friendly. I will definitely be back to take advantage of the kayaking and hiking during the spring and summer.

The lodge has very beautiful, small wood cabins with basic amenities such as the fridge and coffee maker. The cabins also each have a nice, small sit out at the back. Each cabin has a single vehicle parking earmarked and located either directly below the cabin (for the extra elevated cabins) and in the front for the others. Instructions about access to your cabin are sent to your email. The lodge has a very beautiful location and it is very close to Asheville downtown, which is a pleasant surprise. The French Broad River and a park by the river with a riverwalk (not fully functional after the destruction from Hurricane Helene) are plumb in front of the property across the road. The lodge has a nice canteen for the guests’ basic needs. It has a desk with a very helpful team. They helped us with additional comforters and sleeping bags that we needed due to a sudden dip in the temperatures. A tour operates from the Lodge too, in case guests are interested.

We LOVED our time at Wrong Way! We were with a group and we all had an amazing experience. The location is fabulous for getting all over town. The cabins are perfectly equipped with exactly what you need and no more/no less. The shop has a perfect balance of snacks, drinks and souvenirs and we had a private yoga class downstairs which was incredible. The outdoor spaces at the fire pit and the meadow are wonderful for a group or individuals to spend time. We would love to come back.

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights in cabin 5. Beautiful view of the broad River. You can hear traffic from inside the cabin, so you might want to use the provided ear plugs or a white nice machine if you are a light sleeper. The bed was comfy, room was spacious. We loved the record player. The coffee bags made a tasty cup of coffee in the morning. You can check in/out by text message, so arriving late at night was no issue and super easy. We saw the first staff on our last morning as we were checking out. She was super friendly while we looked around the canteen. Lots of great snacks, beverages, and some comfy looking hoodies in case you need an extra layer.

Yelp
Very cute and unique. Get away from it all. Probably even better in summer. I went during a snowstorm.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about this place! This is a great option for those who travel with their dog(s). We had such an amazing experience and did not want to leave. A few days before our arrival I received an email from the team at Wrong Way that included helpful check-in information as well as the weather forecast, directions, and parking instructions. It also included links to their website for more information on various activities from trusted partners and local restaurants. Our cabin was #11 (standard cabin). The cabins come with everything you could possibly need: wi-fi, spacious bathroom, cozy beds, foam pillows, towels, extra bedding, microwave, fridge, electric kettle, coffee, tea, mugs, record player, games, books, balcony/deck, etc. The cabins are also located across the street from the French Broad river and there are several parks (including a dog park) with walking trails within walking distance. The River Lodge is a communal space to hang out. There is coffee, beer, wine, kombucha, and fresh baked goods available for purchase (all from local companies, breweries, etc.). As well as Wrong Way shirts/merch, coolers, etc. All the staff we interacted with during our stay were nothing but kind and friendly. Each night they have a fire at one of their two for pits and invite anyone staying at Wrong Way as well as surrounding communities to come and hang out. They really created something special here. We cannot wait to go back.

Yelp
Beautiful campground in west Asheville that houses 16 A-frame cabins. The campground includes high speed WiFi, a coffee shop, hanging hammocks, two different outdoor smokeless firepits, and two event spaces that can be rented out. Perfect spot to come work remote. There are fresh pastries served daily and other local snacks and drinks in the canteen.

Yelp
We Tried wrong way river canteen cafe. Vibe on point! Friendly barista, everything about it was great! Loved the look of the place! Only downside was I ordered a hot mocha, tasted more like a "ex hot latte", and the espresso was a bit on the sour side. :)

Yelp
Wow! What a well thought out and well designed place to stay. This place exceeded all of my expectations and IMO is the perfect place to stay when in Asheville. We were also fortunate to meet one of the owners upon checkin and he was super nice and helpful. He gave us some great recommendations and even a quick tour as well! I could honestly go on and on about how well done this place is... but I just recommend you see it for yourself and experience Asheville as it should be experienced by staying at Wrong Way!

Yelp
We didn't stay the night, we just stopped in as locals for a cuppa coffee with our dog. The coffee is local and delicious. There are other drinks available, as well as some pastries. There is a view of the river, and Wi-Fi access. The two people working there were really sweet and made a darn good latte.

Yelp
Our team hosted our first-ever out-of-town team retreat in Asheville, NC, and it did not disappoint. First! A shout-out to Explore Asheville. Their website is a wealth of knowledge of everything you need to know if considering a visit to Asheville. Their sales team helped me find the perfect solution for our small team--Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins. Before, during and after, Shelton Steele and the team at Wrong Way were excellent partners. For every question or issue we had, they were quick to answer and figure out solutions. We came in Wed - Fri in mid-October. We used the River Lodge's large meeting space with a large wall-mounted monitor for our team meetings and presentations. We had delicious breakfasts and lunches on-site provided by their catering partner, Newstock Pantry. We were lucky to have warm fall weather, which allowed us to enjoy many of our meals outside around the campfire and picnic tables. The cabins were a hit with the entire team. Everyone loved discussing what records were in their cabin and a highlight was the hammocks for the balconies. Swinging in a hammock and watching the sunset after a long day was a great way to relax. The entire Wrong Way layout made it feel like we were all together at a modern and well-manicured campsite. With Wrong Way as our home base, we were able to take hikes in the local park. Our team walked to the River Arts District to poke around the galleries. We had fun on a brewery tour that allowed us to see more of Asheville. We also enjoyed some local favorite eats from 12 Bones Smoke House, Wicked Weed Brewing Pub and a splendid private dining experience at Rhubarb. Thank you, Wrong Way for ensuring our retreat was a success. We all want to come back to enjoy Asheville again! Imagine all the fun we can have with warmer weather.

Yelp
The cabins are so stinking cute!! We're so happy to be staying here, it's close to everything but still gives you that cabin feel. Joe was so accommodating and helpful. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to Asheville!

Yelp
Great place to stay for a few nights. Super clean. Bed was very comfortable. Lots of thoughtful touches including books, records/record player, hammock, games. Outlets on both sides of the bed. Only things I would say need improvement are add a shelf in the bathroom for personal items/toiletries. And it was VERY cold in the room when we got there. Would be nice to turn the heat on before guests arrive. Otherwise, great!!

Yelp
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Asheville's Wrong Way River Lodge for 10 days in April 2023. The owners, Joe and Shelton, have created something truly amazing, in a fantastic location. It's built into the hill directly across from the river and the French Broad River Greenway for cycling, running and walking. The cabins are incredibly comfortable, spacious and well-designed with everything needed for a home away from home, including a turntable, records, books, and hammocks to relax in. The River Lodge itself was perfect for one of the rainy days we had. We sat by the fire while my husband strummed the guitar. Every single staff member we met was so friendly and helpful, with lots of suggestions for places to eat, drink, hike, cycle and explore. We used Wrong Way as our home base while we hiked and cycled in the nearby state and national parks. It was great to come back "home" at the end of the day, and be close to so many options for restaurants and breweries to visit. If we are ever back near Asheville, we will definitely stay here again, and will highly recommend a visit to everyone we know.
