I felt robbed.
In December 2021 I made a purchase of €150 in the store. When swiping the credit card on the machine, it allegedly made an error. They asked to go through a second time. A few months later my wife was checking her card statement and noticed that we had been charged twice. I contacted the store who said they would make the return. They did not. I got in touch again and this time they said they could only make a return with receipts for the purchase. Now, obviously months later we no longer had the receipt, however, the original receipt would only have the payment amount for the purchase that was actually made and for which we did not intend to return. The receipt of the payment that went "unnoticed" obviously never existed. I explained the situation and the impossibility of having a receipt for a purchase that was not registered...No response to date. In fact, I would even like to understand how they justify an inflow of money in accounting terms without there being any supporting document... We even tried via the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection, the same non-response. I know it's been a long time but when I came across this store again in a Christmas shopping search on Google, I remembered that it would be a good warning to leave to other potential consumers. And yes, €150 isn't much but it could be €1, it's a matter of doing what's right, something this store didn't do, quite the opposite.
