Delicious food, fabulous cocktails, and the staff were very friendly.

Google
amazing food, really friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. I will be visiting alot more often.

Google
Really delicious food and nice atmosphere with good music. The only slight downside was that the Teriyaki Beef was cold quite quickly, probably because of the cold plate it came on. But it tasted really good! From left to right I had the teriyaki beef, peach iced tea, chicken gyoza, edamame with sea salt and beef dumplings.

The food was absolutely incredible. So fresh and really authentic. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Gave suggestions on the food which increased the experience. Looking forward to going back.

My family and I have been to Wudon twice in the span of a month. The food is absolutely amazing!! The Tom Yum soup is delicious, the teppanyaki is amazing, the prawn crackers.. Everything was fresh, delicious, hot and authentic. The service is great as well. Wudon is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow

Beautiful place, so clean and fresh. Good food and plenty of it. - I asked for extra extra extra extra hot noodles and thats what I got! My partner had the katsu and it was amazing! The Haggis spring rolls are simply stunning!! Amazing customer service! We can't wait to come back!.

Yelp
I've finally pin pointed what it is that's wrong with Wudon!! It's not the food, it's not the service ... It's how uninviting and "cold" the general environment is! What I mean by cold is that the staff members are completely unwelcoming and insincere with their service! Let's begin the story. So Gian and I were looking for a place to eat after spending the whole day walking about Glasgow. We ended up at Wudon for some odd reason; it wasn't my first choice but I figured we should give it another go to see how it's been like. Upon arrival, we were "greeted" by the owner (I think) of the restaurant, who had a chronic grumpy face. Like he literally had a deep dent in between his eyebrows from frowning! He seated us at a four-persons table beside the kitchen entrance and disabled elevator ... No it was not a comfortable place. I insisted on moving to a different table once one freed up, and we eventually did. There were 2 waitresses serving and they just seemed stressed out like 80% of the time and always seemed like they were in a rush! Ok I get that it's a Sunday night and you're busy but this is the hospitality industry, you should at least pretend like you care about how you're making your customers feel! A smile would help too? The food was delicious tho! Me and Gian had the Tom yam udon with prawn and edamame on the side. They made a great broth and it was big in portions too so at least this saved this experience. Gian also tried the rice green tea which he really liked! Altogether it was about £11 per person which is not too bad. But again, I'm not a fan of the cold behaviour! If the staff members have a black stormy cloud hovering over their heads, obviously that cloud transfers onto their customers! Overall is give Wudon a 3.5 but since .5 doesn't exist, a 3 it is!

Yelp
After trying some of Wu Don's sushi at the Tempo Tea Bar event, I had to go try more. It turns out that this is my dad's favorite restaurant and him and my step-mum invited me to dine with them one Saturday night. The place was rammed and very hot. We decided to go for some fire cracker sushi pieces with the soy beans and crackers. This was phenomenal, fresh, tasty and full of flavor. My dad and Step mum opted for some of the larger dishes, when they arrived the steaming bowls of noddles which were filled with chicken and lovely vegetables smelt incredible. I went for more sushi, with some salmon and rice pieces and deep fried king prawns and chili dip. For someone who didn't really like sushi, it didn't get any better than this. I've never tasted food like it. After dinner we had a look at the sweet menu and I went for the apples in batter with cinnamon ice cream. My step mum went for the nutella in crispy rolls with coconut ice cream. For me the apple lacked something, it was a little bland to be honest and not even the ice cream could rescue it. Suzanne's was incredible and I would definitely try that next time. Overall a fab experience and I will be back to try more sushi!

Yelp
Sunday dinner does not need to be a roast all the time. Last night we went for a spot of dinner at Wudon. I had heard good things, so I was very much looking forward to it. We arrived with no booking and they fitted us in easily, sadly the fitting in was to a tiny table behind a pillar that had very little leg room. In hindsight I should of asked to move as by the end I was pretty uncomfortable. Starters came first and they were very tasty, we shared Ap Soong which is shredded duck with crispy noodles and wrapped in lettuce leaves. It was quite mild, but then was good once I added some chilli sauce on top. We also shared a beef dish of slices of sirloin in teriyaki sauce. Cooked to perfection they were both a great way to kick off the meal. At this point I was having a Ashai with my meal, but once that ran out I decided just to move to tap water. Trudie M had chosen to do the same after her drink was finished, but no matter how many times we asked we could only get a tap water to share. They just kept filling up the same glass. Not an issue for us, but could be for other diners going out for a meal and not actually wanting to share their drink. It was very strange, but probably just some miscommunication. For mains, I am going to say that I must of picked wrong. Some food on other tables looked very nice and I was inspired to choose the Chicken chilli with rice which I would not normally go for. Sadly it was lacking flavour for me and to be honest tasted a wee bit bland and like a standard sweet and sour dish. Again I chucked some chilli on top, but it still just had no real zing from any other flavours to help make it into a good dish. It tasted like a standard sweet and sour dish you would get from an average takeaway. (I hate sweet and sour for being too boring) Wudon started off great, but ended up a wee bit disappointing. I left with sore legs from the lack of space and also feeling like I had picked the wrong main course. I won't rush back, but if I do go back at some point I will certainly be asking what the staff would recommend as when I left I saw some diners tucking into some really interesting looking dishes, which they seemed to be loving.

Yelp
Decided on Wudon for dinner before a gig at Oran Mor as it was nearby and I hadn't tried it. Showed up at 5.30pm on a Monday and got a table without any trouble. The place is pretty plainly decorated but in a nice, clean way. We ordered a bunch of the wee dishes to share: Heung Dai Gee (£6.00) - scallops with garlic, soy & coriander served on the shell. Teriyaki Beef (£5.50) - marinated pieces of sirloin beef with teriyaki sauce. Ga Lay Kwok (£4.50) - parcels filled with tender chicken, potato & onions in a mild curry sauce. Saw Choi Tempura (£4.50) - aubergine, sweet potato, mushroom, asparagus & Japanese soba noodles in tempura batter. Sake Sashimi (£5.80) - slices of raw salmon served with daikon hair, pink ginger and wasabi. All of these dishes were really good with the exception of the beef which just didn't taste like very much at all. Thankfully the scallops and the chicken parcels made up for it as these were both amazing. I also wolfed down the sashimi and really liked it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and came back to check on us and take more drinks orders regularly. We ordered some more food once we'd finished as Graeme was coming to join us, and when we got the bill for three adults and drinks it was around £20 each, which I thought was pretty good for the amount we ate! Pretty decent Japanese food and I'd definitely make a return visit to try some more of the small plates.

Yelp
Only been in for a takeaway - but gosh, it was amazing! One of my friends lives 5 minutes from the place and when I suggested Japanese food she opted for this - best choice ever! We both went for chicken katsu and rice, and i also had salmon nigiri and she got a selection of sushi instead. We waited quite a while to be honest, but the restaurant was quite busy, so it is understandable. Everything really nice, and price really good as well. Can't wait to go back and sit in having a proper meal!

Yelp
One word to describe this place? Fresh. From the flowers to the table surfaces, everything looked very clean and ... fresh. Scarily so, almost. I know it's new, but, there's a fine line between 'clinical' and 'fresh' and poor old Wudon was teetering on the fence quite precariously....eep! Anyway, so the food? Well the menu promised a 'passion' of home-made cooking - to me it there was a slight hint of an imitation of Wagamama - but why, oh why, do they tell you how many prawns/scallops/bits of food will be found in your dish in brackets at the side!? It's just not cool... I ordered the King Prawn Tempura Ramen having had similar dishes before in other restaurants. I may have had 3/4 prawns (I can't really remember now) but the majority of the dish was beansprouts. I like beansprouts. I have nothing against them, just that, when my plate is full of them, they become very boring...And bland? Did I mention this was bland? Eurgh. I don't know if I'd recommend this place or not - maybe I caught the chef on an off day? - but what I can tell you is the number of stars to be found here. (3)

Yelp
A new addition to the already pretty damn tasty array of restaurants in the west end, Wudon brings a fresh angle with the addition of Japanese Cuisine to the ever expanding smorgasbord of nations. Offering grub in the same style as Wagamama ( only not in the annoying school cafeteria style seating arrangement), Wudon offers good, fresh Japanese Noodle dishes at an acceptable rate. We popped in here a week ago with the little one sleeping in her pram to treat ourselves after a night of teething hell. OK its not exactly pram friendly however the staff were excellent in clearing us a path and making sure we were ok and well attended to. As for the food? Well top notch is a term springs as freshly to mind as the flavour did in my pallet after the first bite. IF you've been to any of the new noodle bars in Glasgow you will know what to expect form the menu, namely a range of broth like dishes with noodles, fresh veg and herbs and some meat if you so desire.....which i do thank yo very much. You can also choose form a number of dishes such as curies, starters and others, all very tasty. The funny thing about this place is that whenever we frequent it never appear to be that busy. Which is strange given the location, style (ain't Japanese grub trendy just now?, and the quality. Anyway, to hell with everyone else, me and the other half shall continue to visit Wudon whenever we can trick someone int baby sitting the small one......any fools, sorry, volunteers out there??

Yelp
I agree with Chris on this one, why is this place never busy, it's awesome! Price wise it is in line with similar establishments but to me the food seems fresher and tastier. This restaurant is always spotless as well and I like the normal seating arrangements as opposed to Wagamama's which has you encroaching upon the personal space of complete strangers. Wudon is run by the three Wu sisters, one of whom is an interior designer and you can tell this from the interior of the restaurant. It is warm, inviting and manages to feel luxurious and relaxed at the same time. As Chris mentioned, you can expect to get all the usual noodley fair at Wudon's but they also do delicious Bento Boxes for lunch for £6.50 which are Japanese style lunch boxes to takeaway. The freshly made sushi is also fantastic or you can try a few things from the "wee plates" section of the menu which allows you to try a few different things, tapas style. Next time you are sauntering around Great Western Road you HAVE to give Wudon a go. It is as good a noodle bar as you are going to find outside of Hong Kong!

Yelp
I really loved Wudon! The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff truly lovely and the tableware was very funky! The food was delicious; I usually order Katsu curry if it's my first time at a place as it gives me a good indication of how the food is going to be. Other than not having the usual carrots and potatoes it was fantastic :) Their selection of Sushi is also quite amazing. I usually just opt for some maki, which they will do for you if you ask, but there are far more interesting options! I wanted to try my boyfriends beef sushi but it was gone before I even thought to ask! The eye of the tiger sushi was the perfect combination for me of Salmon, avocado and maki. Yum! I was too full for desert but my boyfriend got the chocolate rolls which looked amazing. Spring rolls filled with gooey chocolate, what more could you want? Their Merlot wine went down quite nicely too! We arrived about 3pm and left around 4:30pm on Friday and there was a good amount of seating. The place wasn't too quite that we felt we were disturbing people with our conversation or loud enough that we struggled to hear or get a waiters attention. It was just right :) Overall a great place to eat, price is fairly reasonable, and some parking on the street close to it. I'll definitely be going back!

Yelp
I am a regular at Wudon, but since lowering my carb intake, have been avoiding temptation. However I decided to come and try out the salads. I ordered the "mango nuts and more " salad , which came beautifully presented and was very tasty. The salad was a fine cut selection of salad leaves, apple, carrots, peppers , mango and crushed peanuts. I opted for the sesame and soy dressing on the side as was advised by waitress that is quite salty, but it was just perfect! My husband ordered the tori katsu sushi and a rice dish, which I've forgotten the name of now :( The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious :)

Yelp
We went here after I had a craving for sushi and a quick google for somewhere good! I have to say I was not disappointed! We went on a Saturday lunch time and it was fairly quiet, although got a bit busier later on so we may have just been eager! We had the soft dumplings in the wee plates, ap soong (shredded duck in pastry - similar to spring rolls) and a few sushi plates, as we wanted to try a bit of everything! We also had prawn crackers to start which were giant ones, you get 4 for about £3 so probably not worth the money for what they are, given you can get some of the sushi for around that price. Soft dumplings - really really good, we even ordered a second plate!! Ap soong - tasty but probably wouldn't get again as there were much better options Chicken katsu sushi - something a bit different but very enjoyable if you like katsu curry Teriyaki beef sushi - again, something a bit different, my boyfriend picked this but I really enjoyed it and would get it again actually! Dragon maki (I think) - this was the maki with a tempura prawn in the middle and salmon on the top - a bit more standard for sushi and really tasty! All in all we loved the food. It was probably a bit pricey for a lunch time (came to ~£35) but would have been an OK price for an evening meal. Having said that though, the place felt more like a lunch time type place as it was quite small and had a bit of cafe feel to it. I'd like to give 4.5 because of that but I can't do a .5 so giving a 4, as I think it's missing just that little bit extra to be 5*. The staff were lovely though, which isn't in line with other reviews so I don't know if it being lunch time and also less busy helped with that. Ah also, they do lots of bigger meals such as noodle bowls etc which sounded lovely, we just wanted to try more things and I wanted some sushi :) They also have a massive drink selection, with lots of different things to try.

Yelp
Just walked passed this restaurant as we were looking for somewhere to eat and decided to eat there. So not sorry for that! Really friendly staff and we both had noodle soup. I had the udon noodle tom yum! Really really nice! My bf also was really happy with his meal. The table beside us had sushi, that looked amazing as well. I really recommend this, maybe the best noodle soup I have had so far outside of Japan.

Yelp
This is a cracking wee Japanese restaurant located on Great Western Road in the West End. They have a great selection of dishes and sushi on their menu. I really like the Wee Plates options as I have made the mistake and had a sushi, wee plate and a main. It was far too much food and my belly was gonna get me. On this occasion I decided on a couple of sushis and a couple of wee plates. It still was a lot for me so I may have to cut down even more. Oooft! It is so good and tasty and I just want to try lots of the options. I really like the Honey Floss sushi, which is chicken and salad rolled in pork floss served with a honey, lemon and mustard sauce. It's scrumptious but four pieces is always too much. I also had a Sake Maki sushi (salmon), Ap Soong which is finely chopped duck with crispy vermicelli noodles, which I had to roll in iceberg lettuce, and also soft deep fried tofu pieces with a sweet chilli dip. Big noms! The staff were lovely but were very keen on clearing the table. Sometimes it was a bit too much interference. I know my man felt he would have liked to have poured his own drink in his own time but they were wanting to get on that cleaning boat and clear, clear, clear. Apart from that I can't fault the food and I would definitely be back to try more on the menu.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place. Bit expensive but then you get good quality food, so i guess it's fair enough We had a mixture of sushi and small plates. They also did a variety of noodles, soup noodles and rice dishes as well which I'm excited to try next time I go The sushi didn't have that many options (well it did but they were all similar) but what we had was really good. But I'm not a sushi fan/expert so don't take my opinion as completely knowledgable The small plate were really great, for what we had at least. The dumplings were epic and I would highly recommend. The duck spring rolls (duck pastry) was also really good. My main reason for suggesting that you go is that I had cravings to go again 10mins after leaving the first time I went there. If that isn't enough Then I don't know what is!!! Update - 5star to 4star - as much as I enjoyed the dumplings again on second visit (they are amazing). The noodles didn't live up to my expectations. There was little to no flavour, except the large quantities of soya sauce I added myself to make it more enjoyable. I'd still recommend highly but id suggest sticking to the sushi and dumplings

Yelp
Every now and then I love a little Japanese food, so we headed out to Wudon. We got sat at they smallest table in the place. There was a good choice of food! For starters we shared crispy shredded duck With lettuce leaves for wrap and sirloin in teriyaki sauce both dished were really tasty. We probably should should have just ordered more small plates as the main meals were a bit tasteless. I had the chicken teriyaki which was a little salty. Austen M had the sweet chilli chicken which was nicer than mine but still a bit tasteless. What I would say the drinks are a little expensive for what you get. I ordered a cranberry juice which came out in a small tumbler no ice - £1.75!! I could see behind the service bar and the soft drinks are pored from the bottle or carton so after I finished that I asked for a jug of water for the table they took my glass away and filled up one glass. Austen M asked for another glass they took my glass away and refilled it! They struggled to understand that we both wanted water!! Food was not incredible and the staff don't have much attention to detail not sure I would hurry back!

Yelp
Visited here with a friend a few weeks ago before we attempted a heavy night of craft beers. They had been recommended by a former colleague and boy they don't disappoint. We had a couple of sides of sushi one that had a king prawn in green tea noodles and then tempura battered (Soba Ebi Tempura ), and another that was a king prawn with avocado a nigri wrap (Caterpillar) . Both were pleasant portion sizes and didn't disappoint in the flavour department. For a main I had a teriyaki beef and my friend had the Katsu Ho Fun. Both were great and very filling. The staff were great and very efficient, We felt that they were well priced and that we got good value for money. We will defiantly be back again.

Yelp
My meal here was fresh and delicious. You can ask for MSG not to be used and they are really very good about it. The food is so tasty it doesn't need MSG anyway! It was easy to find vegan options, and the staff were very knowledgable about which noodles contained egg and which didn't. They also brought me some wheat free soy sauce without me even asking. What a result - healthy, chemical free, and super tasty! We weren't very hungry so didn't eat a great deal. I had the veggie classic udon, which came with beansprouts, peppers, carrots, onion, spring onion and fresh chillies. The flavours were perfectly balanced and it was really light and refreshing. A pleasure to eat. I was so distracted by how awesome my food was I can't remember what my boyfriend had - some sort of chicken thing I think - he seemed really pleased with it anyway. We shared the coco banana for dessert - he had the ice cream and I concentrated on the banana. I haven't had a banana fritter for about 10 years and this one was worth the wait!

Yelp
Decided to be extravagant one day during the Christmas holidays and walked to Wudon to get a lunch takeaway. It was top notch! I'm a huge fan of prawn crackers and the giant crackers here are good fun but also really tasty. I waited no more than 5 mins to get my order and it was still piping hot in the nifty boxes it came in when I got home. Always wanted to eat my asian food out of those cool wee boxes ever since i saw Paul and Gail in Neighbours getting their dim sum in....! My chicken Katsu curry was delicious and my fiance's chicken noodle soup was fantastic too, with the broth separate to make sure the panko breadcrumbed chicken was ready to enjoy as it should be served in the restaurant. From memory it came to about £18. Not cheap but really good quality.

Yelp
Another delicious weeknight dinner treat at Wudon on Great Western Road, with great company and warming ramen. Yum. I love Wudon. It's basically my local, and it never fails to disappoint. The service is speedy but friendly, the decor modern and appealing and the food always fresh and delicious. My firm favourites are the huge bowls of soup noodles - beautifully peanutty Katsu Ho Fan, the clear and warming Miso and a spicy Tom Yam, all packed with veggies, egg and your meat/fish of choice. I'm also a big fan of the 'wee plates' and sushi, but with Glasgow's typical climate, I can't often see past a wonderful bowl of steaming ramen. I've yet to have a bad experience here after dozens of visits. Highly recommended for a tasty and inexpensive supper.

Yelp
We popped into Wudon on a Saturday night, no reservation, and got a table with only the briefest of waits - lucky us! It is clearly a busy and popular establishment. The best bit: the warm sake. The worst bit: the tempura batter -a bit gluggy. Everything else: OK. Tasty noodles, good tofu. The food is OK in a kind of pan-Asian way, but not fantastic. Is there an awesome Japanese restaurant in Glasgow? I've love to know as I've not found it yet. Still, Wudon is popular with good reason. The food is fresh, tasty and inexpensive. The service is friendly, efficient and brisk. The decor is bright and fresh. Worth a visit or three.

Yelp
Wudon is still a regular favorite for us, and I'm bumping them up to five stars because they've consistently provided great service and excellent food. They are always extremely careful with making sure my food is gluten-free, even going so far as to bring the wasabi packaging out so I could make sure that it was safe to eat. They've also been great in providing great vegetarian options for my companion. You can't go wrong at Wudon - see my previous review for my favourite dishes if you want some recommendations!

Yelp
Having been curious about Wudon since the day they opened their doors, I finally managed to get in for a meal last week with a friend. It must be said that I LOVE udon noodles and spent a week in Tokyo several years ago actively plunging myself into a starchy coma because the udon was so good there. Now Wudon? It was okay, but not Tokyo fabulous. I had the classic udon with salmon and so did my friend. The noodles and fish were decent, but the sauce was uninspired and I generally felt a bit "meh" about it. It's probably because my expectations were a bit high, but still... We didn't get any starters or sweets, but the range did look good. I'd like to go back for sushi and small plates someday, but I'm not sure I'd go for an udon entree again. I noticed that they offered a small plate of plain udon noodles, for those who just want the unadorned slippery goodness of the udon. Maybe that's the way to go. I'm sure I'll be back with an update, but in the meantime it's 3* for Wudon.

Yelp
Wudon has been on my radar for years but I only tried it for the first time fairly recently! The scintilating, spicy smells drift out from the restaurant on to the street, and eventually I got to sample it thanks to my lovely boyfriend. We had ample amounts of tasty sushi with some fresh ginger on the side to help us digest. I had noodles and tender salmon as my main course. It was fairly spicy but very tasty. The salmon was soft, crumbly, fresh and flavoured. All food was freshly prepared, light and not too laden with sauces, but spicy enough for adventurours diners! The staff were on point, well dressed, attentive and professional. For all Wudon looks laidback and low key from the outside, inside it's a slick, authentically Japanese dining experience, and for those reasons earns a staunch popularity amongst locals. It's the type of place once you've been, you'll recommend it to a few friends and it seems to frequently get steady business, so it's worth phoning first if you're looking to book a table. It's not the cheapest place to eat on the street but you are definitely paying for a quality dining experience. Getting a steady, well deserved positive press, the only thing which may put diners off is its BYOB policy. However, if you're willing to supply the bubbly, it offers a great evening, and if you're not in the mood for drinking they've got a selection of soft drinks. Lovely, and I'm glad I've finally given it a go!

Yelp
We decided to come here to fulfill our desire for some sushi and a catch-up. The sushi was delicious and fresh, the tea perfectly brewed (Japanese green tea, of course!) and all-in-all, all of the above mentioned aims and objectives were fulfilled to the highest standard. The waiting staff were friendly enough and the food was delivered to our table in a timely fashion. I cannot wait to come back here for more sushi and a more extensive look at the menu as there are a number of things on there that tickle my fancy!

Yelp
Having never been before or read any reviews on it I went in with an open mind Ordered a Japanese bento box, side of noodles and jasmine tea Was pleasantly surprised at the presentation and the taste of each item I'm not going to go on and on about the specifics All you need to know is my belly was full, my face had a smile and my wallet wasn't as light as most Japanese places make it Go along and sample this place and eat lots

Yelp
The food was delicious. The price seemed comparable. The staff were friendly. The billing was annoying. The decor was pleasant. The music was incongruent. Music: I mean I dunno what kind of music would be congruent but guns n roses and air wasn't it? Billing: They charged 50p for some extra wassabe. They added a 10% service charge (our group was 6 and we went for lunch on a weekday). When the bill was split up most people underpaid because they didn't take the extra 10% into account and left the others making up the extra. Not important but annoying nonetheless.

Yelp
I have a terrible sense of direction - always turning left when I should be going right, and completely judging where places are. And it's this that caused me to turn up stupidly late at Wudon, with Briony having had to order some food for me, and with me having to eat it in world record time so we could make a gig. Despite that, and with everything being a little colder than it should because I was so late, the food was pretty good. I have no idea how the are described on the menu: the little triangle curry parcels were lovely (best thing I had probably), the crispy honey chicken wings were good - I always prefer a dry coating to one that makes your fingers stick together, and the beef in lettuce thing was nice as well. While not the best Japanese I've had in Glasgow (probably still Nana Kusa for now) there was definitely enough here to make me want to come back and spend more time.

Yelp
I appreciate minimalism with regard to interior design... however, not with food! My first and only trip to Wudon was with a group of friends, with whom I regularly get together with to try new restaurants in Glasgow. It was our friend Caz's turn, and he picked Wudon because it was across the road from him. The restaurant was quite sleek and contemporary Asian. It wasn't very busy that evening, so service was pretty attentive. The restaurant was BYOB at the time, but I think they now serve alcohol. The food was fresh, and the guys enjoyed the food. However, I was quite displeased at how scarce food was in the bento box, which is normally a smörgsbord of Japenese delights (and I've had quite a few bento boxes in my lifetime). I was very unhappy with the small amount of food provided for the £9 they ask for. Hmphf. I might return to Wudon... but we shall see...

Yelp
This place was awful... maybe because I know what ramen actually is suppose to be. The green tea was good, that was it. The california roll had SOOO much rice...I mean like person that never made sushi made it because there was so much rice. The "curry noodles" were awful, the noodles were soo soft and the sauce had barely any coconut milk so it was JUST curry powder. The chicken, looks the same in all the dishes we had, So I am pretty sure the chicken cut should show some variation but no, it is cut in strips like the pre-bought chicken The ramen was horrible. The broth was basically water because...well they don't really boil chicken here because it's prebought. It was actually more like pho .... but water broth. Basically we were really hungry so we had to eat atleast half but wow..this is not good at all.

Yelp
Apologies all round here. Only a week ago I was in here and only scored four stars. I swore to myself I'd go back, and come following Saturday evening.... I'm back!! Once again I had to have the Salmon Sashimi and the Beef Teriyaki was outstanding. The Food and Service again was top notch! Our bubbly waitress Jaz was so friendly and helpful. Even though we were the last table to leave the staff were cheery and accommodating right to the end. Really not sure why I only scored them 4 stars last week. Its awesome taste sensations and great value for money make for a great Japanese dining experience. From last weeks big thumbs up to this weeks high FIVE!!... Wudon... I salute you!

Yelp
The pork katsu curry was excellent, on pair with the one in Japan! Source: Lived in Japan for two years.

Yelp
Just tried out Wudon for the first time after having it perched at the end of my road for years, silently judging me each and every time I didn't go in. The place is really nice, a relaxed atmosphere convivial to a bit of food and drink between friends. A couple of ramen plates with a few "Wee Plates" on the side was the perfect amount for us. Washed down with Asahi, beer of the gods. Having spent a time in Japan both of us can be quite critical of the western approaches, but what we got was really tasty fare. I recommend trying it out, especially if you're a Japanese food virgin.

Yelp
Very new at the time of writing, so new that they don't have a liquor license. Bring Your Own Bottle is in place, and with no corkage charge. Having said that, the menu prices for alcohol seemed reasonable enough. Wudon is being likened to Wagamama, but I'd say it's more fusion than pure Japanese (which I believe Waga's is?). The Asian languages used in the menu certainly point to a mixture! A couple of the dishes aren't as advertised on the menu, but the waitress informed us of these before we ordered. I guess they're still experimenting or working from feedback. Service was quick and polite and the restaurant clean and modern-looking. My partner and I both ordered noodle dishes, hers a broth and mine more meat-based. Both were lovely. Hers was a Tom Yum (Thai) spicy soup with thick noodles, bits of chicken, chillis and so on. I went for a slightly more Japanese style dish. The waitress made it very clear that we could "adjust" the meals to our liking. The Tom Yum, for instance, normally comes with an egg in it but my other half is allergic to egg. It's fairly obvious, therefore, that the meals are made to order. Both were served up less than ten minutes after ordering and were piping hot. And most importantly, very tasty. We were in a rush to get to the cinema, so didn't linger for a dessert but that's exactly what we wanted - quick, tasty and filling. That's what we got. For two main courses and two fruit juices, the bill came to £19. About right for the area where Wudon is situated and a good price for a delicious meal.

Yelp
A much needed noodle bar in the West End with Japanese cuisine. It's nice to see an independent restaurant offering a change from Wagamamas and the many uninspiring Chinese restaurants on offer in the West End. However, I've yet to find a special dish from this restaurant that really impresses me. Though I'll keep returning to this place to seek it out...

Yelp
Rapidly becoming my favourite Asian joint in the West End. I have been a regular at Ichi Ban for as long as it has been open and have tried pretty much every dish on the menu, and I still love it, but sometimes yearn for something slightly different... And Wudon is it!! Similar in style to the Ichi Ban menu, but with a larger selection of sushi, and some I've never even heard of! Tasty Tsing Tao beer, crispy prawn crackers and hot edamame beans top off a varied menu which is bound to have something on it for everyone's tastes.

Yelp
The place is great but service not so good. I went for a take-away lunch: they had gotten my order wrong, I waited 25 minutes although there was no other customer and they barely apologised. I'd go again for the food and good location, but would not expect great service.

Yelp
Went here today for lunch, I got the Teppinyaki, which was not great... the chicken looked like it was pre-cooked, I expected it to have been cooked on the hot plate, but this was just thrown on, and for an impressive looking display, the sauce was thrown on at the table, but it was not very nice really... the staff were lovely, and maybe cause it was quiet at the time, they weren't bothered, the food wasn't supposed to be that great.

Yelp
After a day of surprises, my other half used his eerily skilful Jedi mind tricks to get me to this restaurant - I'm not even kidding; I picked the route of our walk and everything, but he'd been dropping subconscious suggestions the entire time. He's so sneaky! We arrived almost exactly on time for our reservation, the sneaky devil man (whom I love). Our experience began were seated by the window by a lovely, friendly and chatty waitress! I cannot stress how important friendly staff are when you go out to dinner -fantastic first impressions. After being handed the menu, I could not resist ordering a cocktail to start with. The drinks were delicious, I have to say. My first was a Tarty Wu, and I also had a Manga as well. Nothing tasted bland or overpowering, just pure cocktail deliciousness. Because we wanted to try as much as possible, we ordered many dishes from the 'Wee Plates' and Sushi menus to eat tapas style. As you can see by the picture I've uploaded, we clearly could not contain our enthusiasm! I can't even tell you precisely what we ordered, and I fear that if I tried I'd be listing the entire menu. Things kept arriving, and we didn't quite have room on the table for everything! Thankfully, the lovely waitress was at hand to assist, and was very quick off the mark to take away empties to give us some space. For anyone doing tapas style, it is worthy of note that we ordered a portion of garlic rice and a portion of curry sauce each expecting that they'd be relatively small, but found that they were actually quite large. One portion of each between the two of us would have done nicely, especially given how much we were eating. I can honestly say that I didn't know how much we'd ordered until it showed up. Everything was delicious, and at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be going back soon!

Yelp
Paid a visit to my favourite Japanese restaurant again last night and was very impressed as usual. I had 4 massive pieces of chicken katsu sushi to begin with which came with a tasty katsu curry sauce. The shredded chicken with chilli and spring onion rice dish which followed was also excellent. Service was friendly and fast and I also enjoyed the 90s soundtrack in the background. Will be back again very soon.

Yelp
Wudon is my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. It's a great choice for anyone who likes japanese, chinese, and/or thai food. I'm obsessed with the sushi, usually I go for the California maki, Eye of the Tiger, and tamago nigiri. Wudon is my favourite place to get tamago as it's very flavoursome and served in large portions. I've also previously had the sweet chilli chicken and egg fried rice, which were both amazing. Another selling point for me is Wudon's delicious iced green tea. I have yet to find another restaurant in Glasgow that sells it (I also have yet to find a restaurant anywhere that makes it as well). The service is always fast and very friendly. Wudon is truly a step ahead of the game.

Yelp
You will find another review for this place under " experimental food"! Quite how i don't know as It serves some of the best Asian and Thai food I have ever experienced. It now has a licence and the wine is actually very well priced compared to your normal restaurants. We shared several " wee plates" to start then went on to share a Thai red curry. All of which were absolutely first class. My wife would not share her dessert - deep fried nutella spring rolls..!! She told me they were the best thing she had ever eaten:) I resigned myself to another helping of the minced duck starter and a cup of Dragons eye tea. I won't spoil the fun but you really have to have a cup. Great value, fantastic and friendly service( they know how to engage their customers) rounded off by superb food. I can imagine this place gets swarmed on a friday and Saturday night so you might do well to book. Can't wait to return.
