WunderLocke (Munich, Bavaria) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the largely residential district of Sendling, in the southwestern corner of Munich, busy streets begin to give way to green space, and the pace of life palpably slows. This is where you’ll find WunderLocke, an apartment-style hotel — or a collection of boutique-style serviced apartments — that make a strong case for the Bavarian capital as one of the world’s most pleasantly livable places. An all-day restaurant and a fine-dining option, along with a café, wine shop, and cocktail bar help keep WunderLocke’s guests self-sufficient, while bike rentals make for easy urban exploration." - Tablet Hotels

I was in the City Studio. So the room was fine. It was big enough I think for 2 people but as I was by myself it was great. The rooms were really quiet inside which was perfect. I liked that there was a refrigerator, and kitchenette and even a dishwasher. So I read the reviews about how the rooms were not the cleanest and room service only comes after 7 days. So I brought a hand vacuum and some light cleaning supplies so that worked out well. As other reviews have stated yes the hallway carpets look run down and definitely need to be pulled up and replaced. Also the bed definitely sags in the middle so if you have back problems or need something firm or with a box spring you will have issues! The biggest issue I had was the Air conditioning! It was extremely hot for the entire week with heat advisory warnings daily. I specifically filtered places for A/C and I read the reviews that said the Air conditioning wasn’t good at all but was hoping that maybe it was just those rooms and not every room! But alas it was not so, the air conditioning was more like a low fan, it did not cool the room down at all, it might as well have not been in the room. But because I read reviews I brought with me 2 fans that made it comfortable. That point alone has made me not consider this place for next summer when I have to come back to Munich. I think place would be really good during the winter months.

We really enjoyed our stay at this accommodation. The room is beautiful and comfortable, even with our family of four plus a baby. We found the beds super comfy and were able to use the little kitchen. Very handy! The kids loved the pool. We also liked the location; we were just a metro ride away from downtown Munich.

We stayed 3 days to visit München. We loved the room: good beds, lots of space, comfort (dishwasher, wash/dry machine to name a few) and good coffee! Our kids (13 and 14) liked the gym and pool, and we went several times to the roof terras to relax and enjoy the view. Location is good, 3 minutes walk from the U-bahn (U3). The public spaces of the hotel are really nice and make you feel good. Hotel employees are very friendly

lovely space in terms of functionality and design! location was great too, being easily connected to the metro station.one thing to note if you drive though - free street parking is really based on luck, and the streets were mostly full during our 5 nights there. prepare to top up €15 per night parking if you don’t want to live with the uncertainty of having a parking space when you are on a holiday.overall, we enjoyed our stay in this cool hotel.

Had a week with my family spread across multiple rooms. The stay was enjoyable and we made use of the hotel and it's cooking facilities. We swerved the expensive breakfast and used the weights in the gym. Unfortunately there was some maintenance work happening in the building opposite all week so it was a bit noisy (plus it rained all week!). Still,we had a good stay. Thanks!

I loved the rooms, and the outside areas were lovely too. I didn't get to experience the rooftop bar because it wasn't summer yet but everything else was amazing. Laura welcomed us at the reception, and made us feel right at home. Apart from the usual wear and tear of the rooms, I loved everything about the hotel. Good choice of restaurants nearby aswell. Would come again.

This hotel is lovely! I was nervous about it being so far from the city center, but because of its proximity to the U-Bahn it ended up being perfect. Having a fully outfitted kitchen + washer and dryer was perfect for our trip and really helped us when it came to surviving off of carry-ons. The room is great, spacious, clean, and airy. I would recommend it to everyone!

From the reviews and their webpage, this seemed like the ideal place for us to stay. Family friendly, apartment type hotel, outdoor pool, great! But from the moment I entered the hotel, I knew this was a bad choice. First of all, it is incredibly dark, like really really dark. Secondly the walls and floors are very badly maintained, see sample photo from in front of the elevator. We had "upgraded" to a two bedroom apartment, but it smelled of sweat, was dark with more dark on it, as only the bedrooms had windows, so living area had no natural light. The beds were not comfy at all. We knew it was located outside the city center in Sendling, but that was fine with us, and as such that is not a problem since there is good U-bahn connection. However, there is very little to offer in terms of nice dining in the area, so that makes it less enjoyable. Much worse is the safety of the area, with many questionable types walking around once it starts getting light. Add to that the complete of security in the hotel. You can walk in from the street, go to the elevator and go to any floor you want. The elevators are equipped with card readers, but for some reason those were turned off. Hotel itself is one star, but I added one more because the staff was to a degree trying the best. Check-in was handled professionally, the breakfast staff was trying to keep things going, as it was possible. Speaking breakfast. Guess because they know there is no alternative to be found in the area, it is a total rip-off. It is ok, not great by any standards, but in no way worth the price.
