Google
We were told Spudnuts are the best donuts in Okoboji. They were frying up their homemade donuts in front of us. Then you pick your frosting and toppings and they make them custom to order. They also have cream and jelly filled options already created to choose from. We got the Cinnamon twist, raspberry filled Bismark, strawberry cream filled, maple pecan, maple bacon, chocolate frosted and donut holes. Everything was delicious and worth the long line that started outside the building to get them.

Google
Best donuts you’ll ever spend your hard earned cash on. If your back is big, and you’re looking for something to make it even bigger, get yourself a dozen glazed donuts. Thank me later.👌

Google
This is a place we have to go every vacation to Okoboji. The donuts are amazing! They have a true dedication to their product!

Olivia Blessing

Google
Heard they were the best doughnut shop in Iowa so we stopped by. Doughnuts are huge and a great weighted doughnut. The dough itself is nice and heavy while still being soft and fluffy. Excellent flavor and the staff were really friendly!

Google
Spudnutz is a really great donut shop in Okoboji. It's very popular so expect the possibility there may be a line to get Donuts in the morning, but it's a fast line. The Donuts are made with potato, so it does work as a gluten-free option for you. I think you'll like all the great selections and options at Spudnutz. I highly recommend this donut shop.

Google
Rated Iowa's Best Donut Shop in 2019 by Big Seven Travel. I don't know how they don't keep winning. Our favorites were the Maple pecan and chocolate pecan - and you can't go wrong with a simple glazed. Everything was delicious! What sets this place apart is warm, fresh-out of the fryer, glazed donuts, frosted AFTER you place your order. You get to observe your yummy donut get hand frosted as you wait. The unique open, viewing area allows for an unobscured view to the entire kitchen. Located in a converted, historic Standard gas-station that features fun and funky art as well as an awesome Donut Mural, perfect for selfies! Get there early if you would like to enjoy your donuts in house. There is limited seating. Don't forget a great cup of coffee to go with your donut!

Google
Delicious donuts, made fresh while you wait. There was a line immediately after they opened, so expect to wait. We got in line at the door and it took around 15-20 minutes to get to the counter. They also have Caribou Coffee and a drink cooler, and a couple of tables I’d you decide to stay, most people do take out. The donuts are very light and fluffy, even the donut holes are fluffy. If you get frosted it’s a very rich and creamy frosting, highly recommend the maple bacon. The cinnamon twist has cinnamon in the dough and very light. There is just a light glaze on it. If you have time these donuts are well worth it!

Google
Delicious donuts & coffee. Donuts frosted to order. I highly recommend the o boy, vanilla sprinkle, cinnamon twist, and donut holes. Friendly staff and good prices. Definitely worth a stop while in town!

Yelp
Firstly, service was AMAZING. Especially with how many questions we had & the amount of donuts we were ordering (family of 9) the service was speedy & pricing was understandable. Secondly, They tasted so amazing & all of the donuts were so fluffy. For sure living up to the stories. The options are limitless with toppings & sauces. We got there just in time before a long line & honestly, would come back many more times.

Yelp
The service was outstanding and super friendly. The donuts are just above average or below Hurts Donuts. The price is way above any place I've visited. The decorations on the box was a nice touch. Made to order was also different than any other place I've been.

Yelp
Came here yesterday, the line out the door spoke volumes for how great and fresh the donuts were. Staff came out and gave samples to all of us waiting. Donuts were delicious, fluffy and fresh. Service was great and friendly. If you see the line out the door trust me when I say it's definitely worth waiting.

Yelp
What's wrong with fresh donuts. Nothing! Nice selection of donuts for everyone. These are somewhat subdued donuts, no super super sweet - which is exactly to by liking. They're heavy almost like bread. We loved them. Nice little shop, worth a stop. Grab a coffee and a donut.

Yelp
The absolute best donuts! They're warm and fresh and delicious! The Carmel topping is so good! The glazed are also delicious! Get there early because the line is long, but it's well worth the wait!

Yelp
I would rate these donuts as average. The counter service was good, but the donuts were way too bready. Potatoes were one of the last on the list of ingredients in the flour mix, so I don't quite understand that. I would suggest to go there and give them a try though.

Yelp
In town for Easter weekend and just stopped to pick up some donuts. Got back to the hotel and OMG, best decision of the day so far. Friendly staff and quick service. Thanks for doing what you do and making our weekend!
google avatar

Kris L.

Yelp
Hot, fresh and gooey. These are worth waiting in line for. Go early if you can, parking is difficult. The cream filled O-Boy was especially decadent.

Yelp
We will keep it simple- Fresh doughnuts and some creative varieties- outstanding. Don't see what you want? They will customize anything. Custard filled with chocolate and coconut is my favorite. Some nice options with anything from bacon to blueberries. The owner was t manager is friendly and very accommodating. Very good basic drip coffee and a variety of bottled drinks. The place has a good vibe, they aren't really in a hurry. Might be a long line on weekends in the summer- well worth it. Besides, what else is there to do on a Saturday at 8 am at the lake? Oh, the Spuds part? Made with a potato flour. I can't tell but why else would they have 50 pound bags of it?

Jodi B.

Yelp
Love Wyman's Spudnutz! When my grown children come to the lake the first question is...what day are we getting donuts! Love the donuts and adore the staff!
google avatar

Elizabeth O.

Yelp
Be prepared to wait in line...outside to get a taste of what Wyman's Spudnuts has to offer! Even at 10am the line was long but it was worth the wait. The heavenly smell of their doughnuts wafts outside everytime the door opens beckoning you inside. They've got the classic choices and some specialty ones as well, whatever you choose you can't go wrong!

Yelp
I first had spuds at the making waves event at Arnold's park where they donated to help families with kids who suffer from medical issues thank you for everything

Mark H.

Yelp
Good donuts, and for sure the best in the area. Pricey for what you normally would pay for high quality donuts. Location gets busy so it's recommended to get there when they open.

Michele B.

Yelp
Probably the best donuts I have ever had, my friends make me bring them back to Minnesota every time I visit my family in Okoboji!
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
Good donuts. Stop by and grab one. Basic coffee. Nice people. I don't know what else to say.

Don H.

Yelp
Great value. The maple bacon donuts were fantastic. Cinnamon twists were great. Everything there is quite tasty. We didn't find any donut we didn't like.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Really good donuts, well worth waiting 10-15 minutes in line. The best part was the nice lady that brought out hot donut holes for the people standing in line. Great donuts, better hospitality!
google avatar

Bailey Kay T.

Yelp
Worth the wait. Just do it. You'll be glad you did. Donuts are fresh and hot. Melt in your mouth every time.
google avatar

Mike Z.

Yelp
Every time we come to the Lakes we make sure to stop here. It's one of my favorite breakfast spots in the area. They make sure to get you warm donuts. They can be hand dipped in front of you. The warm, soft, sugary bite is just.... marvelous.

Yelp
One of my friends grew up in the area and during our visit to her hometown, we passed by here and wanted to stop by, but saw a ridiculous line snaking out from the front door and decided to skip out on it. After brunch, though, we decided we should try to get something for the road as we'd have a 3.5 hour drive back to MSP. We called to make sure that they would be open, but saw that they would be closing at 2PM and it was already 1:50PM. We rushed there as quickly as we could and the workers were nice enough to let us in, despite it being slightly after 2PM when got there. Since we got there around closing time, they didn't have all of their doughnuts available, but they had enough of a selection to choose from. I opted for a plain glazed as well as a cream filled doughnut. Both were absolutely amazing and still pretty fresh. While we obviously couldn't dine in as they were closing when we got there, we could see that it would've been a great place to eat your doughnuts in: the interior was a converted garage/gast station. If I ever find myself back in Okoboji, I would absolutely love to stop by here again. Well worth a visit if you happen to be in the area, also.

Yelp
Not much to say, but awesome donuts. Especially fresh - they are soft, big, warm and just delicious. If you're in the Okoboji area and want something for breakfast- head here for a great start to your day.

Jesika G.

Yelp
Delicious! My favorite spot to stop in Okoboji. They never disappoint. Make sure you give yourself time to wait. It is well worth it.

Kay S.

Yelp
I'm in love! We recently stopped by while visiting from Seattle. This place is incredible and will be my new "must-have" when visiting Okoboji! The staff was very friendly. Don't wait too long to eat, they quickly get stale in the paper bag!

Yelp
Rainy morning in Boji and stopped for donuts before heading out of town. Got there at 7:40 and line was right at the door and not outside like we have sometimes seen. Still stood in line for about 30 minutes. Previous posts indicated line moves quickly but didn't seem to be the case this morning. At any rate, the donuts are worth the wait and were warm because they were making them as fast as they were selling them.

Dawn L.

Yelp
We heard great things about this place and it's pretty good! We've had donuts that are just as good as these elsewhere. My kids thought they had a different texture and were just ok. My cinnamon twist was pretty good. There was no line when we went. It was a Monday around 10 am. We probably didn't get to see the full selection but that's ok. Not sure they are worth standing in line for for a long time anyway, but then again, I'm not a donut freak. They're pretty good. Worth a try for sure. That's my review!

Taylor H.

Yelp
Best place you could ever go, great donuts, great service only thing is that there is always a huge line but that comes with how good it really is!

Kim M.

Yelp
Yummy! I live here and it's the first time I've had Spudnuts. They are quite good. Usually the line is so long that I don't want to wait but got there early enough today so I was first in line.

Yelp
Delish!!! This is Iowa's best donut shop. Locally owned, made fresh, and fantastic service. I had the maple glazed with bacon. It's good with or with out the toppings. It's a total experience, gotta go!!

Carson T S.

Yelp
Donuts were so warm and good! Would recommend the maple bacon, and chocolate donuts. Also don't forget the donut holes!

Teresa S.

Yelp
What a delicious treat for the whole family! If you are looking for variety, and a made with care SUGAR RUSH this is the place to go!
google avatar

Adam L.

Yelp
Spudnuts has some pretty good donuts. The donuts are made right there in front of your eyes. It's a pretty open area so you get to see everything that they do. I liked that they keep the donuts unfrosted until you order them. They only had a few options for flavors, would like to see more here. We went with a maple frosted and a maple bacon. The maple frosting was good, tasted a bit sugary though. The bacon on the other one was good. The frosting kind of melts on top of the donut. The donut itself is done well. Will have to come back to try the filled ones.
google avatar

Brent K.

Yelp
Excellent business. Good donuts and sweet retro vibe. Only criticism is having only one point of sale while very long line waiters languish. Today we left bc the line was so long. Great business but not worth 30m wait. Anything less, pop in and get a doz.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
This place might get us to drive around the lake on a regular basis, which is something we try to avoid. Or maybe we can get there by boat? (Note to self: Check out public dock locations near Spudnutz.) These donuts are fantastic. Love the fruited ones with fruit cream filling, and of course Spudnutz. So glad we stopped! There was a 10-15 minute wait, but it was so worth it!
google avatar

Jason N.

Yelp
This was a very good donut I would say little bit of an upgrade from the crispy cream. We got their early and there was a line but it went fast. Maple and the glazed is what we had and loved every bite.
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
I live in Arnold's park and if it wouldn't have been for yelp I wouldn't know this placed existed! It's in an old shop which I thought was abandoned. I drive by it every day! They need a much bigger sign because sadly I never knew this was s donut shop. On to the good stuff: This place rocks! Took the kids and had by far the best donuts of our life! We all tried something different and we shared. They specialize in the glazed and donut holes but everything they make is amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Ummm hello. Curious why anyone would give an establishment less than 5 stars for making homemade donuts. Nevertheless, the creative variety of donuts alone are worth 4 stars. Im not gonna lie, i tried a bite of each. The cinnamon balls, the apple pies, the bavarian cream, the jelly filled, and of course the donut holes. All reasonably priced, prepared in front of you, in a hip environment converted from a mechanic garage to a donut shop. I filled up, and may need an oil change later today. Well worth it. A must try, great for kids, as they can be entertained by the workers making the baked goods, or the basket of crayons and coloring books that was readily available. The staff was extremely nice to boot. I will be back tomorrow.
google avatar

Keony L.

Yelp
Great spudnutz! The best is to have it warm right out of the fryer! They also have a decent cup of coffee as well, if you like diner coffee. The spudnutz are light and fluffy and melt in your mouth goodness. It's a bit denser than a traditional donut but so, so good! If you're in the Okoboji area, grab a dozen ($15) an a cup of coffee!
google avatar

Christopher A.

Yelp
Stepping through the entryway, I feel like I have been teleported back to Silver Lake/EchoPark/Eagle Rock with the eclectic setting of furniture and the Graffiti Art on the Garage Doors. The star of this place is donuts. You get to see the dough being made, kneaded and proofed, so you are getting the real deal fresh.
google avatar

Thuy N.

Yelp
I still dream about these donuts when the craving hits. They were so good they've kinda ruined all other donuts for me. I wish I lived closer so I could get my fix. Even if there's a line out of the door, it's worth the wait especially when they pull a freshly glazed spudnut that just came out of the fryer. It's like eating a cloud but better. I tried a few others but the classic glazed is the way to go. It is melt-in-your-mouth heaven in a pastry.
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
The stars don't go high enough. Best. Donut. Ever. Visiting from Omaha and they need to make one there -Sanctus.
google avatar

Yelp
Killer donuts! Line up early on the weekends because if they run out...they close for the day! Donuts are FRESH & taste great! The wait staff is very nice & will explain the process. I had the Maple Bacon donut (which is topped when you order it) it was AMAZING! You could taste the donut...the maple...and the bacon! GO!

Karri W.

Yelp
Best donuts ever!!!! Well worth the wait!!!!Great service!!!! This is a "must have" while visiting Okoboji

Brady G.

Yelp
These donuts are the best I have had. I don't think you can go with whatever you choose, so good definitely a must try
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
These donuts were crazy good! I had donut holes and the maple bacon donut. They even stay open later than hours say if they still have donuts to sell! They are pretty cheap and let you pick your own frosting. But really maple bacon donut!!!! Two thumbs up.
google avatar

Cortney K.

Yelp
I've gone to Spudnuts several times, wait in line every time I wait in line, struggle to park, and every times it's worth it. Awesome food, good coffee, this last time my coffee cup lid wouldn't fit. Spilled coffee on myself. Still worth a 5 star review!
google avatar

John V.

Yelp
This place was hopping almost every morning this summer while we were at Okoboji. We stood in line and ordered a wide variety for breakfast and they were very good. The specialty donuts are a bit more expensive. My son had the maple bacon and the extra price seems to be justified. He said it was great. Funky little place and heck, who doesn't like fresh donuts?
google avatar

Ruth H.

Yelp
Unfortunately , the owner of Spudnuts has spoiled the taste of the product by being a nasty employer. He treats his staff poorly and has fired some excellent people! The staff he fired this summer have worked hard to make sure that his business is a success, and has made great connections to other businesses and area supportive services. I won't go back and I'm spreading the word.
google avatar

Josh S.

Yelp
2.5 Stars. The quality is there when they're fresh. It's a fun place to go. What sucks is they seem to fluctuate what is and isn't available. Nothing like taking an order for the family only to show up and 1/2 of the normal menu isn't available. When I show up, wait 25 minutes in a line out the door only to have 1/2 my choices go it's annoying. Also the prices. 6 spudnuts and 10 holes cost me $16.00.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
We happened upon this gem because we could smell the donuts from the bike trail. The selection was pretty picked over (we arrived in late Saturday morning--so get there earlier) but the boston cream and the cinnamon balls (I'm sure they have a real name but no idea what it is) were delightful. My husband also liked their apple donut (I didn't care for it) and their raspberry filled (too sweet for me).
