Wyndham Alltra Playa Del Carmen, Adults Only – All-Inclusive Resort

Beautiful location, very close to shopping, restaurants, ferries, and right across the street from a beautiful beach. The resort itself isn’t on the best beach for swimming, but the pool is big and the beach is less than a 5 minute walk. The food at the resort is incredible. Everything we ate at the buffet was delicious, the cafe and the restaurants were also wonderful and included in the price of the all inclusive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We traveled from Canada and we did find that the front desk was a bit difficult to reach by phone before we arrived, but it was doable through the Wyndham main number. The resort was always very clean and well maintained. Our room was spotless when we arrived. Overall a very good experience, would highly recommend!!!

We have enjoyed our family Christmas here! The Junior suites are a good size with large bathroom and walk in closet with safe. Though we only had a partial sea view this did not hinder our enjoyment. Staff are phenomenal. The food is varied every day and we tried all the speciality restaurants apart from the pizzeria. Entertainment was varied from bingo/ darts/ volley ball/ foam party and nightly shows, jazz, fire show, Mexican show! It’s a short walk to the beach and a ferry to Cozumel ( though we only worked this out on our last day). We visited Las Colorados and Chizen Ichtcha via a tour but the hotel arranges trips as well. Short walk to main shopping area.

Stayed for 10 nights start of Feb, Positives: - Service amazing from bar staff and waiters, as soon as it hit 11am, the servers were off offering everyone drinks by the pool, and by no means expected any tips. - Housekeeping attended every day without fail, including topping up of the mini bar. - Really good location, right on the main strip of lots of bars and shops. - Restaurants really nice, other than that I found the menu for the mexican very limited. But otherwise, buffet has lots of variety, even at breakfast, grill restaurant has a great menu and food, and our favourite being the italian. Also loved the quick delights and coffee shop available. Negatives: - Guests constantly hogging loungers with their towels first thing in the morning even though they woun't be seen for hours. There is a sign stating not to reserve loungers with towels or belongings unless in use, but sadly this is not enforced by the hotel at all. If you are not one to get up early, you absolutely will not get a lounger for the day, they were usually all gone by 09:00-10:00am. Really wished the hotel would enforce this one, as we were always up early (like 8am) and even then there were few left but no guests outside. - If you are looking for a beach resort, I would not reccomend this hotel. For me it was not a problem as I saw from the reviews and usually spend more time at the pool. But there is no beach other than a tiny strip which is covered in rocks, making it completely inaccessable, and this area is also at the other end of the hotel, so no access to the pizza and entertainment whilst you lounge. - Reception not very helpful or polite (unlike the the rest of the team) .. they advised there is no laundry service, even though advised online there is - meaning I had nothing warm to wear back to the UK (being 0 degrees) other than some small skirts and dresses. Also when our transport did not arrive they just handed me the phone, felt like they could've helped a bit more considering they speak spanish/ have numbers etc. All in all, we had a lovely stay and that really was due to the amazing staff and lovely food. Would definitely stay again but I do feel there are improvements to be made.

I really enjoyed this resort! We stayed in the junior suite and it was a massive room! The service was the best I’ve experienced in awhile. Between the girls working the coffee shop, all the bartenders, housekeeping, the front desk, everyone made our stay amazing! We came for my birthday and they even left a mini cake in my room!! Our favorite were the servers at the restaurants! They made us laugh every night. ALSO, the food was amazing!!!!! Anywhere you go, it’s good food (and that’s coming from a picky American who eats Chicago/midwest food) but the Italian restaurant has AMAZING pasta! The bartenders were all so sweet and work like crazy!!! Each night they have entertainment which I personally thought was fun! We did karaoke, had a rock band show, did a silent party (which was actually fun). I had such an amazing time, always felt safe, and the hotel was extremely clean which was a huge perk for my ocd. Another perk was its right along 5th Ave which was so nice for us wanting to go explore!

Fantastic hotel! Great location, rooms are big and clean with a private balcony. The staff were amazing, they really made an effort to talk to you and make sure you were happy. The all-inclusive food and drink options were amazing, plenty of choice and good quality. I was originally concerned when booking that the beach was small but they have a lovely pool area and there are public beaches only a short walk away so don't let that put you off. Great value for money, I'd definitely return to this hotel!

Absolutely loved this place! Great location, so you can check out Playa del Carmen easily. The staff is top notch, Jannika is the star of the hotel, we loved her so much! Sebastian at the bar was our favorite bartender. The sushi place was great, so was the steak house, but the Mexican restaurant in the hotel was the best. Housekeeping was outstanding, our room was spotless every day. I can’t say enough good things about this place. To say again, the staff really made this stay special!!

Great location. Delicious food. Clean overall.They assigned noisy room (very next to air conditioning units), requested change, they gave downgraded room (suite to standard), we reluctantly accepted since quieter. Later realized the room was right above smoking area outside!. This time they only had rooms with paid upgrade. Not happy.

The resort's Santorini-like exterior is stunning. While visiting in January meant the beachfront was closed due to high tides, a pleasant, few-minute walk just outside the property led us to a beautiful, accessible shoreline. It was also incredibly convenient for souvenir shopping, with a strip of stalls literally just one block away. As Playa del Carmen is known for its vibrant nightlife, expect some energetic atmosphere. One night, I went to bed and woke up to music from the bar nearby, great if you're in the mood for it, but light sleepers may want to pack earplugs or request a quieter room. For an all-inclusive, note that premium-brand alcohol is an extra charge. The true highlight was the exceptional staff and their fun, scheduled activities. The doorman was always welcoming, and activity hosts Carlos and David were fantastic entertainers who made our trip a great experience! We loved the mezcalita class, foam party, and karaoke night. The buffet food was genuinely good, but the standout was the on-site Mexican restaurant, Zarape—the best food of the trip, served by the wonderful and fun server, Julius. The guest demographic skewed a bit older. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it!
