I stayed here with my family for a week, and I have to be honest, if it weren’t for the incredibly kind and hardworking staff who went above and beyond, we would’ve checked out by day three.
While the resort has clearly been remodeled and looks impressive on the outside, the interior tells a different story. Upon arrival, we entered a room that was unbearably hot. Maintenance didn’t come until hours later, only to confirm it was too hot to stay in. We asked to switch rooms the next morning due to exhaustion, but by then, that room was no longer available.
When we finally got a new room, the AC worked great, until the next day, when a broken water pipe in the ceiling flooded and damaged the entire bathroom. The safety hazard was immediately obvious to me, but it took the resort nearly the whole day to respond. Even more frustrating, the security guard admitted he had seen the issue earlier but didn’t think it was important.
We were moved a third time; by then, our vacation was already derailed. That room was even hotter than the first one. As a final attempt to make it right, the resort upgraded us to a villa, which was described as their best offering. Unfortunately, the villa was in poor condition: rusted furniture, ants, and a variety of bugs made it feel like it hadn’t been occupied in months.
I chose Wyndham because of the brand’s reputation for quality and consistency, but this location simply didn’t live up to it. The location and staff have potential, but the facility requires serious maintenance and a higher standard of cleanliness and safety. Please invest in staff training and property upkeep; this could be a gem if managed properly.
