Our stay at Wyndham Grand Bangsar Kuala Lumpur was extremely disappointing and far below what is expected from a hotel carrying the “Grand” label.
We were wrongly charged the tourism tax even though my wife is Malaysian, and staff were unhelpful and dismissive when this was raised.
We booked a Deluxe Room and were placed on the 20th floor, where the entire floor had a strong unpleasant smell. While the room itself was average, the bathroom was in a shocking condition. As shown in the photos, there was visible mould, dirty grout, stained tiles, and poorly maintained silicone seals throughout the shower area. This is not a minor issue — it is a serious hygiene and cleanliness failure.
The shower drainage was also defective, causing water to pool on the floor, making the bathroom uncomfortable and unsafe to use.
We requested a room change due to the filthy bathroom, but this was refused. Instead, we were told that maintenance would be sent, which is completely unacceptable when the issue is basic cleanliness.
To make matters worse, when we called to order water, the telephone operator was rude and abruptly hung up on us.
Overall, the poor hygiene, lack of professionalism, and dismissive attitude toward guest concerns made this one of the worst hotel stays we’ve experienced. This property does not meet basic cleanliness standards, let alone five-star expectations.
I would not recommend this hotel unless serious improvements are made to cleaning standards, staff training, and guest service
