We recently stayed at the Wyndham Grand Nai Harn in a swim-up room and we really enjoyed our stay. While we had a great holiday, there were several areas where the resort didn't quite live up to the 5-star expectations.||The room itself was a generous size and comfortable. However, the patio deck was a major concern; it felt poorly constructed with numerous loose boards and protruding screws and nails, which felt like a safety hazard. Additionally, getting in and out of the water was difficult as there is only one very large step rather than a set of proper stairs. It is worth noting that the online photos make the hotel look much larger than it is. There is no main communal pool; instead, several swim-up pools connect and meet at the pool bar.||The staff throughout the hotel were wonderful—always welcoming and wearing a smile. However, daily cleaning was adequate at best. Floors seemed to be swept but never properly cleaned, and toilet paper wasn't always replenished. Used hand towels and bath mats were often taken away but not replaced, leaving us short.||The hotel has its own app which is great for checking the shuttle schedule and room service menus, though we were constantly spammed with restaurant notifications. We were told to use the app to chat with reception, but our one inquiry never received a reply.||Regarding food and drinks, we went B&B and felt this was the best choice. Breakfast was okay and offered everything you would expect from a 4-star hotel, including an egg station, pancake station, and decent pastries. ||For evening drinks, the reception bar closes early at 9:30 PM. Since the swim-up bar is only accessible by swimming or walking through the restaurant, it’s not ideal for a nightcap. We preferred the Lakeside Bar just a 2-minute walk away, or walking 10 minutes to the 7-Eleven to grab supplies like many other guests.||The location is okay. You can walk to the beach in 15–20 minutes, or take the regular free shuttle. It’s also a 15–20 minute walk to local shops, massage parlors, and restaurants. We particularly liked The Corner Hut. During the trip, we visited several night markets: Kata was our favorite because it was relaxed with a great variety, Phuket Old Town is amazing but incredibly busy and only open Sunday, and Patong is also worth the visit.||Overall, we had a good stay, but the hotel is showing some wear and tear, and the housekeeping needs to be more thorough to truly hit that luxury mark.
