The 11 Best Hotels and Resorts in the Cayman Islands to Book - AFAR

"One of the few Grand Cayman properties offering an all-inclusive option, with a customizable plan for stays longer than five nights that can include meals, water activities, and premium alcohol add-ons. The resort comprises 152 beachfront condos (the largest being two-bedroom suites with living and dining rooms), and it caters to families with in-room babysitting, a kids pool, nightly entertainment, and a daily activity schedule featuring bird and fish feedings, arts and crafts, bingo, and movie nights for a hassle-free vacation experience." - Mariette Williams

We stayed at this lovely, laid back resort this year over Christmas with my mother and three young-adult children. We all agreed that it was the best vacation ever. The food was amazing; our rooms were large, clean, and all had that gorgeous ocean view. And the best thing about this place is the service! We met the friendliest, most hard working employees at the resort. Truly a magical 5 days.

We loved that our rooms overlooked the water however not on the nicest side of the island was very windy and the beaches collected a lot of garbage and seaweed. They did a great job cleaning it up every morning, but by mid day the beach was full again. Never ended up swimming there. Luckily, had a car and got to go to much nicer beaches to swim. The food at the restaurant was excellent enjoyed every meal and beautiful presentation. The buffets were just OK. The room was cleaned twice on our one week stay however if you needed anything, they were very attentive and brought it to your room right away. The rooms were overall clean and spacious. Had everything you needed for your stay. I gave this a four star as As I overheard one of the servers complaining about a tip. After each meal, I would leave 10 to 20 US And the server said. “ Did they not see the amount of their bill” Implying, she deserved a large larger tip. Completely rubbed us the wrong way. I would recommend staying here as it’s the only all-inclusive on the island and worth it as food and drinks are very expensive outside.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. It’s more of a condo/timeshare community than a typical resort. Food and activities are limited. HOWEVER, if you like a quiet pace, a beautiful sandy beach and a place to snorkel without going far, this is the place for you. I snorkeled every day and saw something new each time. Sting rays, sand rays, flounder, barracuda, spiny lobsters, huge tarpon, tons of colorful angelfish, butterfly fish, parrotfish, and the biggest school of fish right under the resort dock. Overall, had a wonderful time and the staff were great.

When I originally booked the Wyndham I was kinda nervous; I had read some not so great reviews! I was also nervous about how far away it was from Seven Mile Beach where we had stayed before (25yrs ago). How wrong was I… this resort is one of the best I have ever stayed at! It was so clean, laid back and every member of the staff was amazing! |We booked the All Inclusive and was nervous that it wasn’t your typical All Inclusive with only offering 3 meals a day; again I was wrong! While it is only three meals a day the food was delicious and plentiful. We had so much with each meal we would get to go boxes to take to our room. |We stayed in room 105B which was a first floor where you walk right out onto the prestige white sandy beach. There are chairs and umbrellas there for your use. I was worried about the Sargassum Seaweed and smell as previous guests had noted and I can tell you it was no problem. We stayed at the end of Sept (26-29).. there was still a little that would come up but was cleaned everyday and I smelled no smell. We went swimming in the Ocean a couple of times.|I can’t wait to go back and highly recommend this resort to anyone wanting a laid back, quiet vacation,

This resort is located away from George Town and is a very quiet, relaxing experience. We would not reccomend this if you do not have transportation to explore the island, seven mile beach, and all the interesting points along the way. Property has everything you need, offers all inclusive, and a concierge to help you book adventures. We were especiallly impressed with the cleanliness of our room and entire property.

First of all, we pick our resorts based on proximity to the beach and balconies. We were very happy with our room and the proximity to the beach. Right on it! Location, location, location! The room was older but clean and very comfortable. Supplied with microwave, small refrigerator with freezer and dishes for two. Our balcony had two comfortable chairs and a good sized table. However, the balconies are not private as many are joined and only separated from the room next door with railing. Not the best if you don’t like to wear much in your room but we managed. I guess we were at the resort during off season - first week of December. Not very crowded. Weather was perfect - 78 to 87 degrees. Ocean was cool and refreshing. Still a fair amount of sea weed in the swimming bay. Pools were nice but we did not use them. We elected to do all inclusive when we arrived. $151 USD per person, per day. Sounds steep but we would have spent more than that on food as their prices are high. At the time of writing this, we have not spent less than $86 USD on a meal. The standard all inclusive plan is not unlimited food. You basically get three meals a day and all the drinks you want. You also get use of kayaks for an hour a day or stand up paddle boards and snorkeling gear. The property hosts several activities during the day. Second thing we loved about the property was actually the food. It was expensive, but it was very tasty and always had a nice presentation. They had grilled food one night that was outstanding. It consisted of lamb, ribs, smoked sausage, chicken and other things. During the day, we ate at the lunch bar, which offered many excellent choices that were delicious. I would definitely do the all-inclusive package again if I were to return. I wish I had booked it ahead of time, I thought I remembered it being less expensive online, but maybe not. The thing that I did not like about the all inclusive part plus the fact that they keep tab on your food and your room number. You get a bill at the end of each meal with an opportunity to leave a tip. I haven’t seen my final credit card statement yet, but our selections were supposed to be included. The only reason I mentioned this is because it felt very weird to be presented with the bill when I just paid $1200 for all inclusive. They should give you the choices and leave it at that. The staff were all very gracious and friendly. We did not have a single problem with anyone!

Great option for those looking for a quiet side vacation. (Good change of pace from the west side) Very nice condo options. Great views and price is right. Special call out to Arturo Casquio who arranged our snorkel tour and made sure it happened!
