First of all, we pick our resorts based on proximity to the beach and balconies. We were very happy with our room and the proximity to the beach. Right on it! Location, location, location!
The room was older but clean and very comfortable. Supplied with microwave, small refrigerator with freezer and dishes for two. Our balcony had two comfortable chairs and a good sized table. However, the balconies are not private as many are joined and only separated from the room next door with railing. Not the best if you don’t like to wear much in your room but we managed.
I guess we were at the resort during off season - first week of December. Not very crowded. Weather was perfect - 78 to 87 degrees. Ocean was cool and refreshing. Still a fair amount of sea weed in the swimming bay. Pools were nice but we did not use them.
We elected to do all inclusive when we arrived. $151 USD per person, per day. Sounds steep but we would have spent more than that on food as their prices are high. At the time of writing this, we have not spent less than $86 USD on a meal. The standard all inclusive plan is not unlimited food. You basically get three meals a day and all the drinks you want. You also get use of kayaks for an hour a day or stand up paddle boards and snorkeling gear. The property hosts several activities during the day.
Second thing we loved about the property was actually the food. It was expensive, but it was very tasty and always had a nice presentation. They had grilled food one night that was outstanding. It consisted of lamb, ribs, smoked sausage, chicken and other things. During the day, we ate at the lunch bar, which offered many excellent choices that were delicious. I would definitely do the all-inclusive package again if I were to return. I wish I had booked it ahead of time, I thought I remembered it being less expensive online, but maybe not. The thing that I did not like about the all inclusive part plus the fact that they keep tab on your food and your room number. You get a bill at the end of each meal with an opportunity to leave a tip. I haven’t seen my final credit card statement yet, but our selections were supposed to be included. The only reason I mentioned this is because it felt very weird to be presented with the bill when I just paid $1200 for all inclusive. They should give you the choices and leave it at that.
The staff were all very gracious and friendly. We did not have a single problem with anyone!
