We stayed here simply to be near the airport for a flight the following day, arrived circa 5pm
and left at 9am on the their shuttle the following morning.
Diego was very welcoming and friendly, great with the children.
However the hotel is very tired. Run down almost. Has a very early 90s vibe and it’s showing its age.
Aesthetics aside, our greatest concern was safety - especially if travelling with young children. In the few hours I was there (and awake) i saw exposed electrical sockets, loose wires and most worryingly fall hazards - the low wall in the corridor outside our 3rd floor bedroom had nothing to stop a child climbing on it and falling over the side, similar issue on another wall on the same corridor but in this latter case there was a barrier but it wasn’t very high. In the room itself, there was a window with a low sill level; the window could slide all the way open (2 to 3 foot wide) and open onto a flower bed balcony (which was just earth) and then the three storey drop beyond that. Also in our room were raised nail heads from threshold trims in the floor.
The breakfast was by far the worse we had in our 2week stay in CR - poor offering, stale pastries. Overall was disgusting to be frank. Staff (particularly the female member) were unfriendly too. Thankfully breakfast only cost $60 for the 5 of us.
The hotel was cheap, $130 for the night (not including breakfast). Stay at your peril!
